Small market with great options at a decent price. Great place to stop by for snacks if you’re in the area or browsing Little Tokyo. I especially like the prepared food section where you can get meals and snacks to eat cold or heat up on your own. Good customer service.

This is right in the heart of Little Tokyo in DTLA so it can get pretty busy with people. Nonetheless, it has all your Japanese needs for the most part from pre-made meals to produce and more!I got some produce that they had a deal on enoki mushrooms (long thin white mushrooms) and an onigiri for my trip back home. The onigiri was pretty inexpensive for about $2. However, definitely a whole lot of rice compared to the filling. Still okay though for a cheap snack.Theres a whole bunch of shops and restaurants nearby too that are opening up. So, it is getting pretty crowded, but they are limiting inside occupancy for the moment.

Japan Cola / Asahi Dry Zero? Awesome. Prices a tad upscale, but thats okay considering the selection is far superior to what I can find in the Midwest. Also like the fact that returns of unopened products (for exchange) are possible. I bought the wrong item by mistake and I was able to swap it for the right one.

Rude, uneducated manager. He refused to accept my boyfriends work permit as a valid form of ID, it is a LEGAL form of ID that he uses for everything. He also was not the one buying anything it was me (my ID is a state ID they claim only those are valid) He does not own a state ID, he uses this for employement and is even able to buy THC products with it. Manager just brushed us off and simply said its not valid then walked away. We went to the other market in little tokyo and there was no problem there got the same product for cheaper too.

At the center of the little Tokyo experience is of course your local convenience store that is to over priced. I wish I could recommend but its just to pricy. They of course have something you want but its gonna cost you. I would recommend you save that money and buy your self something from one of the many restaurants. Here I found a cut up yam labeled $5 haha.

If you ever get hungry or thirsty while visiting Little Tokyo in LA, Nijiya Market is the place to hit up for cheap eats and drinks. Compared to the nearby restaurant options, getting fed from an onigiri (rice balls) and a ramune (soda) from the market will help offset the money youve spent either paying for parking and/or that expensive costume that youre wearing. As a bonus, you can claim that youve eaten something Japanese. Otherwise, Nijiya is just another supermarket chain with this particular location being kind of cramped and have very limited selection for fresh stuff like veggies and meats. The staff are friendly and have been well desensitized towards weird people in costumes...

Nice Japanese supermarket. Only problem is parking. If Im not wrong given 1hour validation if you purchase more than $20.00. I was upset they ask me bring the cart back from parking lot to the store. Ive never heard such a BS. Many cars line up for exit. Your shopping time probably 40 minutes. Dont forget another line for parking ticket paying machine too.

Truly Japanese! I always stop by when in Little Tokyo to grab an Onigiri. On Saturday’s they’re usually 20% off cause they’ll get tossed the next day. So for $1, you can get a rice ball with salmon or spicy tuna or pickled plum, etc.Real Japanese branded teas and coffees, they even carry Calpis! Good selection of produce, with unique roots and mushrooms.Their freezer section has a ton of take-home items to enjoy like curry and Mochi ice cream. They have fresh mochi here too. With 3 aisles dedicated to candy and sweets, take your time and I suggest picking something new, I haven’t found a candy I don’t like here. They’ve got beauty products that are from Japan and soaps too. Literally anything you may be craving from Japan you can find it here. There is street parking, or structures close by to park at.

Got this awesome Benton for 20% off. Awesome markdowns before close. Nice variety of Japanese groceries and treats. Reminds me of markets in Hawaii. They even have Maui brand pickled veges. Produce seems decently fresh and priced accordingly. Great spot for a snack or quick and relatively inexpensive bento.

Tiny location to pick up groceries and more! The physical space for the store is small, but its jam packed with stuff! Produce is super fresh. Theres a tiny section for ready made meals. There are large selections of candy, chips, and all sorts of other junk foods! They also have a wide range of candy toys (boxes of toys, art cards, figurines that come with a piece of candy) from tons of different popular anime series.

Not the friendliest bunch of people, and their prices are just as unattractive, but it is cute and quaint to say the least. So if youre looking to appropriate eastern culture while at the Japanese village plaza, look no further. This place makes it simple, so no need to know anything, so just be your regular LA tourist self while shopping and making your own assumptions to things you know nothing about. Go ahead, no one is watching, you know you want to.

Parking gets full but on this day there were plenty of pull outs. This busy urban market place is small but mighty fast and efficient. Flowers welcome visitors. The staff seems to be a happy bunch. I picked up a berry Chantilly moonscape small Easter cake. Theyve got everything in this compact place. On weekdays they hire the disabled which is admirable. Love their community contribution. Downstairs is their coffee shop with restroom and eating area. The area stunk to put in their delivery service space.

We always try to get the scallop, salmon roe, and crab rice bowl. They also have other sashimi bowls that are bomb. The prices are pretty good, too. They have really good Japanese snacks that you may not be able to find at other Asian markets. The location is great if you are in the area. It is located in a plaza that has a lot of other places you can visit while in the area. Only downside is if you have a car then it may be a bit difficult to find parking.

Tight isles, average selection of most categories you are looking for. They have an odd policy to check the Id of am body that is in line with you even if they arent paying for the alcohol being purchased. I understand they, but dont agree with the choice.
