Love to come here after school to study! The atmosphere is really great and usually the employees are really friendly. Their signature drinks are amazing, and sometimes Ill go out of my way to grab one of their hot chocolates. Great business, great coffee, great place!
Good coffee and cakes.Within walking distance.
Great staff, good coffee. There is a decent amount of in café sitting and they have a small patio too.
I remember their first shop at Longest Ave / Bardstown Road ages ago. Louisvilles original 3rd Wave coffee
Amazing coffee and the service couldn’t have been better! I’m genuinely excited to come back here soon!
That location is not a bad location for that business; However, the real take away is that the person who stated he was the manger asked me a specific question, received a response and responded with an okay, and both items ordered were still prepared incorrectly. The articulate, adult, English speaking male that identified himself as a manager with a year of experience stated that we in reference to himself and the other employee there, were doing their best; And that in a coffee shop with only two customers who already had what those persons ordered. That manager just did not have a valid reason for their errors, which makes his acrylic finger nails with unnatural components, more telling or noticeable as requiring of that persons attention/time and most likely personal income from that employment; And the fact that he did not know who the owner was more significant; Because that named company having been open long before that location. Then when I poured the largest size beverage into the medium, which was the next size down available, not more than 1/8th of an ounce of fluid remained in the largest sized cup. That was not that companys culture. And the note that was made in regard to that was that an option now is to get online as so many people do and post a review. The location and floor plan is not bad though. People would go as a result of that regardless of what was described. That business took the recycling receptacles out and may or may not be producing less trash given the widely acted business closures, restrictions, and concurrently implemented, public, lay protocols, etc.
Super friendly upon walking in and for first time trying a place, that’s always so nice. The organic fair trade South American blend was rich and delicious. Definitely would come here over Starbucks any day! Thank you for the decaf Honduras:Good Morning combo!
My favorite coffee shop hands down, I love the beekeeper, and the frozen chiaberg. I have tried many more but these are my go to. The staff is also very helpful and great to talk to
You like brown slime that doesnt taste like espresso? Go somewhere else. You like prefab food heated by a lamp? Go somewhere else. You like employees whose spirit is crushed by the over-prescriptive employee handbook? Go somewhere else. This place is for good coffee, great food, quality employees, and a chill atmosphere. I guess if you dont like those things, go somewhere else, but that would be a mistake.
Great baristas! Tons of options for coffee and non-coffee drinkers alike!
Today November 6th 2016 was my very first time going to Heine Brothers Coffee and was blown away by the two very lovely ladys that helped go over the menu for me and my boyfriend. Absolutely loved our drink they helped us choose! I want to give them great Thanks! Rachel was the first lady we encountered and was very lively and helped tons. Stephanie made our drinks spectacular!!! Loved it and am very impressed, will definitely be back!
Hot as blazes in the morning but the cold brew kept me awake and cool. High quality coffee cold brewed with nitro for creaminess. The blueberry lemon scone was also delicious!
Great place to get great coffee. A locally owned coffee shop, nestled in an eclectic neighborhood. Enjoyable place to work (free, fast WiFi), read, relax, play board games, or just talk. Beverages are not always hot as I would like but theyll fix it if youre not satisfied.
Almost 100 degrees this afternoon. An iced coffee was welcomed. They cold brew it and it was delicious and refreshing. This location is airy and spacious.
This is a very nice Heine Brothers Coffee location. I used to come here a lot when I was in high school and I really enjoyed it. I come back every once in a while, and its just the same, if not better! The employees are stylish and cool, and the drinks are well made with care. Not only is this a great coffee shop, but the surrounding shops are great as well!
I love this place. Its a nice little local hangout and study area and the ambiance is nice too. I love their coffee, its always fresh and tasteful. The employees are really good too. Ive never had a problem here! 100% would recommend, especially if you are new to or visiting Louisville.
Honestly I cant believe Ive yet to review this place its one of my favorite coffee shops in town. Super friendly staff and delicious drinks. Atmosphere is perfect for relaxing and having a cup or two.
Of course frozen cappuccinos are my favorite coffee but I wish you would bring back blueberry muffins without the lemon. All the employees are wonderful. Thanks for the great service!
Probably my favorite Heine Bros location, super comfortable environment. Friendly & efficient staff, and a great way to start your day. The Iced Americano on a hot summer day is just the right beverage of choice. Convenient parking, but make sure you pay the parking meter--PARC patrols the area pretty regularly and they like to write tickets!
A great locally owned coffee shop in the heart of the Highlands. Great people watching but it also makes it difficult to work when you have so much to watch. Love their coffee drinks and wish they had a better app.
A great place to take your teen age kids. Culture and environment. A great time on the weekend. A cup of Joe and a walk through the Highlands. Enjoying architecture and conversation with my kids.
Yet another well run establishment of HB with great coffee and kind service.💜
Love my green tea w/ honey & free wi-Fi.. love
Warm, welcoming, affordable. It always feels like an episode of Cheers when I go there because theyre familiar with their customers. Theres also a small meeting room in the back thats free to use
My favorite coffee shop in the city. Heine Bros always has delicious drinks, but there is something special about the atmosphere at this location.
My favorite heine brothers location! Great atmosphere, and even better drinks! I always get a cappuccino with vanilla, highly recommend.
Ask for ice, youll get it hot everytime. Good coffee still.
Whenever I visit Louisville I hit this place at least once. Its a great spot to catch up on email, enjoy a coffee, and a snack. Without fail, I run into someone I know from my years spent growing up in the neighborhood.
Great coffee - terrible service. Employees will gossip about you from behind the counter as you wait for your order/take a seat in the shop itself. Gratuity still expected of course, regardless of how youll be treated after the fact. Better off taking your business to Sunergos.
Always a nice place to hang out. Good seating, good staff. Sometimes parking is sparse but its still a great space and a good motivation to walk or bike.
I must admit I was extreemely disappointed during my visit today. We purchased three beverages two were Nitro drinks, we have had them before however they just did not taste right. Upon taking a sip I told the clerk that the drink did not taste right and asked to have an ice coffee instead. The clerk was visibly annoyed and reluctantly gave me an ice coffee, he wouldnt even put a lid on it. By this time my friend tasted her and she couldnt drink it she asked for a replacement and was charged $6.25 for a frozen coffee. The clerk wouldnt deduct the that we paid for the Nitro coffee.. This was a most unpleasant experience for us all... I am not sure how any business can opperate as they did today....I certainly hope that the managers review these reviews.I own a near by store and I can tell you I was really disappointed today.
Plenty of seating inside or studying or hanging out. Love their chi latte!
Great place to get coffee or tea snacks.love the fact you can drink and eat out on their patio.
Quirky yet comfortable location near the heart of the Highlands. I always enjoy the environment and the quality of the brews at Heine Bros. The coffee is more acidic/fruity than my personal tastes prefer, but it is excellent quality and each cup is professionally brewed.
Im not down with the barista lingo, but they were patient with me. Fat and skinny, short and tall are ways to describe the foam on your cappuccino, (whole or skim, a little or a lotta foam) but they were patient with me. There can be a crowd sometimes, but there are nice shops to walk and browse nearby. The food is pretty good too.
If u just need to chill thats were u go is just amazing
I love that theyre fair trade but their coffee is too strong and so are some of their other drinks.
When I want a good cup of coffee I go there.
Love the atmosphere here. Great Highlands spot!
Very good coffee but I dont know the crowd just seemed off to me that day so but good coffee good iced tea friendly service we wait a little bit for it but other than that all around good place
Great brew
I always love going to this Heine Brothers location! The employees are always very friendly. I have a great experience whether its productive studying or just hanging out with friends.
Large shop with plenty of seating. Since its quick and as expected with very goods coffee. Watch your time with the meters, City really goes after late cars.
Great selection of tea and snacks, and this new shop is beautiful. So glad to have. Heine Bros in Hikes Point!
If youre familiar with Heine Bros., this one is pretty standard. Id rather go here than Starbucks just because Id rather buy from a local coffee company, but Id go with one of the smaller coffee shops like Sunergos or Quills before I went to Heine. One minor complaint, I got a bagel here one time and the person working at the register asked if I wanted it toasted and if I wanted it to go, I said yes to both. She didnt toast it so I got a cold bagel. I guess maybe the two are mutually exclusive? Haha, I dunno. Oh well.
Try to order something on the menu, otherwise, well charge you more than it actually costs. Apparently mocha with vanilla is $7 unless you use their words for it.
Great staff, fantastic coffee and addictive pastries. I have a strong preference to this rather than the sludge at Starbucks.
This local, fair trade coffee shop has amazing varieties of coffee. There is always a different coffee of the day. The baristas are always friendly and helpful.
Friendly staff and delicious hot chocolate. I love that there is outdoor seating space in addition to the indoor seating.
Best coffee in the ville!
Local coffee shop chain. This location is usually bustling. A small amount of outdoor seating and plenty inside.
A lot of room. They have extension cords which is nice.
I love this location! Everyone is so so friendly and awesome!
Great location. Good coffee, and this place always has very freshly-roasted bagged beans.
Large airy space with a lot of tables and some comfy chairs. Staff is very courteous.
Good spot to hang out. They have board games here.
Love this place because it is big and very quaint. Employees are very friendly.
Great coffee and tea and an even better place to hang out and work or have a meeting. My go-to in the area.
Came here twice to study. Both times I tried their house coffee..nothing to write home about. The biggest problem I experienced is that both times it was absolutely freezing inside. Make sure to bring a jacket because you wont be able to concentrate with all the shivering.
Not friendly at all. Stared at me when I walked in and did not say a word. Will never go back. Im going to need your customer service skills to improve.
Fav coffee shop, one of many locations. Friendly staff, good coffee & a good location to study, hangout or pop in for a quick coffee.
It was a wonderful atmosphere with delious coffee and cakes. It was cozy, yet spacious.
Awesome atmosphere. Truly breaks the concept of a chain . Niche feel. Awesome service!
Delish coffee and tea. Yummy scones!
Always fresh coffee and great place to catch up with old friends.
Great space to meet people and work!
Coming back to Louisville to visit and couldnt wait to have an mzing cup of Heine Brothers coffee. Just love starting my day with such greatness!
Good coffee and service too. Nice dessert options as well.
Its clean, comfy, reasonably priced and in a good location. Good place to meet friends.
I ordered a soy cappuccino and it was delicious. I will definitely be back.
HB at the Douglass Loop is my favorite coffee shop. The bare brick walls and girders give an eclectic but warm feel along with the many wooden tables and chairs. The baristas are extremely friendly and instantly recognize frequent patrons and welcome newcomers. The shelves are full of small-batch, fair - trade coffees, and they provide shelf space for crafts from third - world countries at fair exchange prices. You can even buy one of their burlap coffee sacks! (for a small price. )Plenty of HB souvenir cups and mugs are available as well as T- shirts and hats.Kizitos giant cookies are featured there; I recommend Lucky in Kentucky with nuts and chocolate chips that will remind you of the KY Derby, the Most Famous Two Minutes in Sports. These delicious cookies fly off the shelf, so get yours while you can!Or if it is extra caffeine you crave, pick up a bag of chocolate covered espresso beans.Seasonal specialties are available such as hot apple cider from Huber Orchard in Starlite, IN or year - round enjoy hot chocolate. And there are several house teas to choose from if you think the best thing about coffee is the aroma.Heine Brothers also gives wall space (a finished wall) to feature art works of local artists and makes them available for purchase.Take advantage of HBs Wi-Fi when you relax with your unique beverage. Students, professionals, and other adults do this often, whether at a table, a stool, or in one of a few squashy chairs. In the cold days, enjoy the lit (real) fireplace fire inside a radiating metal enclosure.
Staff is rude. Place is always dirty.
Its very open and nice but I feel like the interior needs an update.
Your neighborhood Coffee Joint. I didnt really like the coffee that much but it was a nice spot to hang out with your friends and also had Wi-Fi they had plenty of coffee and teas for sale with a good wide variety of drinks
Lots of indoor/outdoor seating options; limited parking, but fast service and quiet atmosphere
Especially awesome theyve started carrying treats from Annie Mays Sweet Cafe!!
Great brew, plenty of space, delicious snacks both traditional and vegan-friendly.
Good coffee! We had the Beekeeper and really enjoyed it!
Nice place to chill and go on dates and the drinks are great
Very nice coffee establishment.
Great coffee, but I prefer the one on Shelbyville Rd. since the latter has a drive thru window.
Somebody sure needs them to show them how to make a French vanilla coffee barf plus my. Other coffee tasted old...
Excellent coffee, atmosphere, and location. Love Heine Bros!
Service is fine but I did like their coffees.
Nice ppl but unbaked & stale bagel yuck! Coffee mediocre & space definitely needs update! Still searching for gr8 local coffee in Louisville!
It has a lovely view and is in an extremely central location on Bardstown Road, great for walking to and around.
Coffee was good, but nothing special. The deserts (I tried two) were dry and seemed stale. I wont be back.
Great place to study, especially being so close to UofL
Good coffee. Best atmosphere of all the Heine Brothers locations.
Great tea & place to have conversation
Got an iced Americano and an iced green tea to go. Service was fast and friendly, and the drinks were great.
Great coffee and lots of seating. Love the tables outside.
Good service and good coffee. Just needs pizza.
Always a cool barista regardless of the location
