Very rude staff, take your money elsewhere! I went in there to check out their fabrics and as soon as I walked in Bonnie says: Im busy with another customer I cannot help youWhoa, I didnt even ask for help! How about saying: Good morning, thank you for coming in. If you need any help it will be a few minutes as Im helping another customer. I then proceeded to visit seven other different stores of that caliber in Atlanta. Excellent service in each one of them even though they too only had 2 team members or were busy too.I was looking to pick out some fabrics and get Calico to do my window treatments for all my house. They had done them, in my prior home. Will be taking my business elsewhere.
I went to calico because I don’t trust my ability to put colors and fabrics together and they offer free in home consultations. I often run all over town to try to figure out what to buy and my rooms don’t always come together. It’s worth a lot to me to prevent a costly mistake. Laura Meehan came to my house for a consult and she was excellent (and I’ve worked with many decorators.) She has an eye for color and she understood my style right away- she so easily found the perfect color combinations and had ideas that I couldn’t have come up with.Calico does take awhile for their orders to come in sometimes and yes they can be pricey but there’s a lot of places that are that way and worse.
Great fabric. Pricy. Difficult hours right now.
We had a very frustrating experience working with Bonnie at this Calico location. Several things were miscommunicated to us during the process. We got several different quotes throughout the process that had inaccurate calculations of applied discounts, etc. Quotes seemed to change without any rhyme or reason seemingly as a product of sales associates just entering information into the system without truly knowing what they were doing/quoting. The most egregious of these was that throughout the process our quotes stated “professional measure and installation offered and accepted” However, after we had placed our order we were told that the installation would be an extra $400. This was chalked up as a misunderstanding by the staff but when something is included on a quote but the price of said service is not included on a quote, to me that goes beyond misunderstanding into deceptive business practices. After I expressed this to the staff I was treated quite curtly by Bonnie and other staff. I chose to move beyond this and was looking forward to receiving my drapes and shades that I ordered. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed (not in the quality of construction, fabrics, etc. this was quite nice) but there were several things we communicated in regards to the customization that were just not recorded and implemented accurately. The roman shades sit about 3 inches out from our windows which basically prevents them from being completely functioning window coverings as you can see in from the sides. Since a professional measure was done and pictures taken, it should have been clear a smaller bracket was needed for the type of windows we were covering. We have one shade that has about 3 extra feet of fabric on it despite sending a photo of our uniquely shaped window with a description of where we wanted the shade to sit on the window. A second shade is actually about an inch too short, which is inexcusable since it was professionally measured. Of course, had we had professional installation, Calico would see this and have to take responsibility but because of the earlier situation involving the extra charge we had to pick them up and pay at the store before knowing if they would actually work on our windows. Additionally, throughout the entire process, we were treated as if our order (Which was about $2200) was simply below their average customer spend and thus unworthy of their time. I work in customer service myself and as a business that relies on repeat customers, that is not how you want to make your customers feel. Needless to say I will not be returning and would advise anyone against choosing Calico (at least this location) if you need a truly customized product.
It was ok, found most things I needed and some
