Do NOT go here if you have a concern with your eyes. After the pre-screening by the technician I was quickly told it was a virtual exam. Excuse me what?!! I was there for a contact exam but my eyes had also been burning for a few weeks…how was this going to be addressed virtually? I have been seeing an eye doctor for half my life yearly for a contact exam and was always able to discuss these issues. I told the technician on the pre-screening about my burning and he said “he thinks it could be my contact brand”, yet he is NOT a Doctor. Upon exam I was taken into a room with a tv half way hanging in the mirror. A “Doctor” came on the tv and DID NOT follow up questions I had with the technician about my burning nor did he mention my complaints of burning I checked off on the intake paperwork . He just showed me images and said “1 or 2” “1 or 2”. I also heard noise in the background… and NEVER once did he follow up about my eye burning. Let’s hope I do not have something serious that the scam facility was negligent in addressing. I will be contacting my insurance and asking them to dispute this as my visit for the year. TOTAL scam and negligent medical practice.

My experience at Stanton Optical was very good. The staff was very helpful and professional.The exam was different with the new equipment that they have and Mel was so pleasant and knowledgeable about the process.Very good experience with staff at this store. Mel, stood late to explain everything and to accommodate me, through out the process. There was no rushing, store had closed and I was still there. I really appreciated Mel and her time. Very disappointed with the service here. The gentleman who greeted me at the counter was nice. I set a same day appointment for 4:50 pm. I had to leave work early and drove 25 mins to get there. Yes I arrived at 5pm. So I was late. One of the nurses came and stop the gentleman from checking me in. She said I was late and that they can’t take me. Really? 10 mins late. I’m walking around with one contact lens, saw you guys did same day appointments, and I get turned away for being 10 mins late? I have great health insurance as well. I will never come here again. I hate to think it was race related, but that was kinda odd

The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a great attitude. They are very busy here. Although they’re busy, I didn’t feel rushed out of there. I was impressed by how well they dealt with how busy they are. They were able to manage the high volume of customers and still follow Covid safety guidelines. Everything flowed efficiently. I would recommend this place to anyone. I went home with a brand new pair of glasses and contacts! Saved a bunch of money too! I’m very happy and satisfied.

They open on time that was exceptionally nice very well mannered treat me like I was important the only thing that got me was they said two for 59.95, I end up paying $247. Things that they say was needed they were ready when they gave me the date pick them up very nice fitted them but Im good Im glad I got them cuz I needed them and if I had to go back yes I would.

I decided to patronize the Veterans location after having a bad experience at Vision Works on Severn Ave. My intent was to get fitted for contacts since my glasses from Vision Works were not working. I sat through the virtual eye exam and sat in the lobby area to wait for the results. The conversation with the attending migrated into pleasant conversation, and I explained how my experience with them (so far) was better than what I experienced at Vision Works. When I explained that a Vision Works optometrist told me “All Lives Matter” after reading a sweatshirt I was wearing the Stanton attendant said “Well, all lives do matter.”Once again I stayed to receive the remainder of the service I initially went in for thinking that maybe I’m being too sensitive on this issue as an African American/Hispanic female. The attendant handed me contacts that she said were NOT a match for my current prescription, but that I should just see how they work for me to get used to wearing them. I was also told that I would get a call within two weeks to come pick up the contacts I paid for. I didn’t receive a call at the time I was told, and I made several attempts to contact them via their website, phone calls, and personal visits. After a little over two months I walked in, asked about my contacts, and was given the pack with no office fitting. When I got home and put the contacts in they were too strong for me. The whole process was a waste of time and money...I dropped my private insurance and decided to go to the VA on Canal Street for all of my optical needs.

Luis and Doctor McGhee were so friendly and helpful. I’m usually more shy, bordering anxious in public settings but Luis made me feel so comfortable. 10/10 I would go back.

This place is such a joke had an appointment got ther on time when I went to check in I was told they are having problems and cant see me today you would think they would have know that when they called to remind me about my appointment when I told the guy I was disappointed he told me to have a nice day and Im welcome to go somewhere else

I visit the Veterans store today and I had a wonderful experience. Bliss made me feel so comfortable during the exam, and was so helpful when I picked out my glasses. I have been to numerous glasses shops but none of them can come close to the experience I had today.Jay

Amazing and easy experience. They made the process simple and it was like I was their top priority. I was helped to find the best options for me and what made me comfortable. My glasses came in quickly and I was able to pick them up in about a week. The glasses are perfect and I’m so happy about my purchase.I was helped by Bliss and she was so easy to talk to and made sure I was happy before walking out. She tried to see if I could get same day service (which they do offer, never have I seen that at previous places), but sadly my prescription for my right eye had to be special ordered.

This is truly the best unknown Optical places in the area. Open Sundays. Great deals. And you cant miss Bliss. What a joy and pleasure to spend my money with an honest and straight forward approach place. Bliss is everything and more. The process was awesome. The staff was very friendly. I am a first time wearer of contacts and Bliss took the time to discuss how to put the contacts in and take them out. She even took the time to assist me with the app to scan and be able to watch videos at home. I was struggling with putting the contacts in and went back to the store. Bliss took extra time to assist me. She deserves a RAISE!

I am so glad I chose to switch to Stanton Optical from America’s Best. Mrs. Mel Melgar and Ms. Bliss are two phenomenal women. Their professionalism is impeccable. They explain everything thoroughly. First time using Stanton. We went for my ten year old daughter. They were efficient and knowledgeable- I too was surprised that there was no “in person” doctor. However, You are actually interacting with a real person on screen - enjoyed it and felt like I got better service from the doctor on screen than I have from some that were physically present. Bliss was very friendly and helpful. I will say that the assistant in the back Actually handling the testing was less than friendly, she was not rude, but seemed impatient and irritated. I’m not sure if she was just having a bad day but she seemed like she would rather be anyplace but doing that job. She was knowledgeable but not customer service oriented, so that did strike me as odd since the general atmosphere here is very friendly! Also, the two pair of glasses for my daughter Were completed in an hour. Overall I was very pleased with this experience and will return with my other children.

They get you in and out in a timely fashion and have a large variety of glasses to choose from and the staff are very friendly and you have a number of payment options to choose as well

Mel did the testing. She was very nice and professional. She put my husband at ease with the testing. Bliss helped us find frames and order the glasses. She was wonderful. I tried on a lot of frames. I didn’t get any grief about pulling so many frames off the wall. Bliss was very knowledgeable about fitting and lens quality. It was actually enjoyable picking out glasses. We will return yearly.

This is is my second visit to this location and once again over an hour and a half wait. This is by far the WORST place ever. Second visit today took two hours. No eye doctors in office, everything is virtual. This place is a joke - waste of time and waste of money. First visit my prescription was in correct I was told to wait 5 days and come back. I make an appointment and I’m still waiting yet two hours with an incorrect prescription.

Terrible place! They don’t even have an optometrist in the office. Everything is done through video call! Wish I was joking but this has nothing to die with Covid! I went before the pandemic! I requested my prescription and after 2 months of numerous calls and emails I still don’t have my prescription! This place is a waste of money and subpar

The dedicated staff helped me find the perfect glasses that worked for me and even went all through pricing with insurances and gave me the best deal possible. Large selection of women and men’s glasses. It was like taking my mom with me. A special thanks to Mel who took me all through the glasses process. She told me to go get a free pair of over $100 sunglasses for FREE when I didn’t even know that the special deal going on.

Friendly helpful staff!! I like the fact the doctor is on video never had that before. She was very nice! My only issue is I hate my insurance is not in there network so everything was out of pocket an i didnt kno until after the exam . But overall Id recommend this business!

WONDERFUL PLACE! recently stayed in Metairie for the weekend for a softball tournament and my glasses broke. I was looking for a place that offered same day services and would see me last minute on a Saturday when I found Stanton Optical. Hands down the best eyeglass place I’ve ever been to. The staff was so friendly and went above and beyond. They were extremely patient with me and even helped me decide on a new pair of glasses!! Have already recommended them to a few people and will definitely be returning!

I went there a couple of weeks ago to get my glasses fixed. Mel did an amazing job!! I went to a couple of other stores prior to Stanton: each one of them told me my glasses are beyond repair - but Mel proved them wrong. Thank you for the amazing service.

This is the most unprofessional optical office I have ever been to. I made an appointment at 12 and was not seen until 1:30! After waiting all that time I was seen by a virtual doctor! She was completely ineffectual as by not having the props set up for a virtual appointment. When I finally picked up my prescription it wasnt even completely filled out! I I called to get the rest of the prescription but no one called me back.Completely unprofessional and horrible experience.

My husband and I use to go to St Charles vision but it was sold to a new eye care company and we were not familiar with them. Our son had gone to Stanton optical in Dallas and said it was wonderful experience. I googled Stanton optical Metairie and here it showed up on veterans made an online appointment for my husband and he said the eye exam was a great experience and Sydney was very professional. While he was getting his eye exam I was talking to Mel about how long it takes to get a prescription sunglasses and regular glasses to my surprise they had my prescription lenses in stock and I had them the next day due to the fact we went on a Sunday. This place is a joke. Nothing professional about it. I will report them to the BBB! I didnt even see a Dr. I was in front of a video. Lies nothing but lies. They are just waiting for fools to call or stop in. The whole two hours I was there not one phone call or customer came in. Stay away!

I couldnt ask for a better experience.I havent worn glasses in over a decade. I knew I needed glasses, but wasnt sure where to go. Im so glad I chose Stanton Optical. From my exam with Brittany and Romika, I knew I was in the best of care. Both took their time with my exam. They explained step by step the process of my examination, and the necessity of each test. Romika took her time helping me choose the right glasses. I love them! Finally Christopher went above and beyond to make sure I had the perfect fit, and clarity for my glasses. I didnt know a small adjustment can make a huge difference. If youre in need of eye care, Stanton is the place to go.

We went Stanton after checking their website and confirming that they accepted our insurance. Turns out that even though they list our insurance- they aren’t in-network. They ended up costing us more and we had to make a separate trip elsewhere to order glasses for the kids. They wasted our time and our money- we won’t be back.

Staff are friendly, but very inefficient ! They are not skilled enough to handle the insurance benefits . At the end of the day, I had to pay the whole money myself though i do have a solid vision insurance.
