This is the worst Experience I have ever experienced when ordering contacts. I came in as a new customer and after having a great experience with the young lady that assisted in getting me setup and the optometrist. I came in contact with Torian who is also a Manager and after filing a claim with my insurance company she did not tell me that I would pay full price for a contact exam unless contacts were ordered on same day. I was charged an extra $50 for negligence on her part.I come back to the office to get it taken care of and there she is with a very nonchalant attitude and had the nerve to ask “My Insurance” company is there anything “they” can do for her negligence. After there was nothing she tried to do to correct the situation; Mrs. Laura steps in who’s clearly the expert in insurance claims refunded the difference and ordered my contacts.I will not be returning due to poor communication of this employee.

We visited to VisionWorks today and they have so many cute frames to choose from! When we arrived, my daughter and I were met with the sweetest lady, Torian. She happily walked us through all the information and helped us find the best deal with our insurance. Torian went out of her way to cancel a previous authorization made for my daughter at Walmart by calling the insurance company. We will definitely be back. I already made an appointment for my husband!

Horrible, horrible, horrible! I came all the way from Ponchatoula and was turned around and said I will have to make another appointment. Was stuck in the bridge due to traffic, Visionworks did call to see if I will be able to make my appointment. Did not call to see if I had gotten lost(which I did, GPS took us in another direction). To drive that distance and waste gas money and to be turned around for a supposedly 20 minute appointment. I will not come back to that store again. The one in Gretna is way better anyways, with perfect location. This disabled vet is disgusted with this location.

I am grateful they are open and going through precautions during Covid-19.My appointment online was lost, thankfully they fit me in the next day.There is little transparency with purchasing. I simply asked what would it cost if I went through my insurance AND what would it cost if went with the Visionworks promo? Ashley went over the numbers with me and put them on a post-it.I continued to ask questions and the Manager, Laura, came over to look at my insurance paper. As I was discussing the matter with the manager, Ashley brought me the receipt to sign, so I quickly signed it as she tucked it into the envelope. I got home, and noticed she charged me $100 more than what we discussed!The next day they were opened, I called and Ashley answered! Hey! Yes! I remember you! I still have the post-it on my desk actually! When I tell her what happened, she put me on hold. She came back on with, Im sorry, I dont remember, I do not have the post-it. I confused it with someone else. I see so many patients, I cannot remember them. I dont remember. SO. FREAKING. SHADY!There needs to be more transparency on what people are spending money on. I will not be back, and will be sharing my experiences with this chain and this location with anyone asking for recommendations. The doctor was great though - Dr. Tran.

This was my first time using Visionworks for my exam and glasses. I’d been to two different businesses the previous two years and was not satisfied. Immediately upon entering the Pontchartrain Place location I was most warmly greeted by Ashley Billiot. Dr. Deborah Broussard was exceptionally thorough in my exam, as well as educational in my specific needs. While choosing frames, Ashley again assisted me by offering valuable insight into which frame worked best for me. I am proud to say that Visionworks Pontchartrain is my new go-to for eye care, and I highly recommend!

Ive bought several pairs of glasses from these people and Ive never been completely satisfied. However, my last two purchases were a disaster. I bought a pair of Ray Bans (close to ($400). One of the nose pads came off and they told me there was no way to fix it and I didnt buy the warrantee. I got it fixed at Walmart for $8. Then I bought an expensive pair of bifocals (again, close to $400). One of the temples just came off. Same story. They had no way to fix it. I had to mail them to an online store to get them repaired.Once you walk out of the store with your overly expensive glasses, youre on your on if something goes wrong. There are a lot better deals out there with people that stand behind their products. And theyre arrogant.

Dr. Finklestein is a family friend so I have been going here since it was eyemasters and he has always been amazing! Sad to hear he retired. But unfortunately besides him everyone in this store was not customer service focused, until I met Ashley. And all I can say is wow. She is the reason I still come in for contacts and glasses. I did the exam there and bought my glasses there. When I got the glasses, I could not see with them. I try contacting their local number and 1800 number and I could not reach anyone. From Kenner I drove qll the way to the store. The manager refused to see me or reimbursed my money because I did not have an appointment, after having to drive all the way there. Do not waste your money here. I have never experienced this in any other optometrist. I wasted $150.

Great service during these trying times!I never expect to be seen on time this year as places are not typically working at full capacity due to regulations and safety concerns. After a short wait today I went through my exam, picked out frames and paid for my new glasses! Everyone was friendly and Ashley was wonderful! I needed someone to be honest with me as I always pick out the worst glasses 🤪 and she hooked me up! And was a pleasure talking to! I’m very happy that each person I interacted with made sure my eyes were taken care of especially since my last prescription (progressives from a different company) are extremely off.

I have used visionworks for a few pairs of glasses and overall I am very satisfied with the service. I have had some minor hiccups but the problem was quickly resolved and my new glasses were in within two weeks. Ashley is really great and so very helpful, she has helped me choose a frame and received many compliments on the frame. She has been able to resolve issues in a timely manner so that I was not left without my glasses. I recommended this location to a friend and he only had positive things to say about how quickly he got his glasses and the great help he received. It has been a little hectic at times but the staff has been very helpful during these crazy times.

I had a appointment for this new place. Christine made this a awesome experience from starting my eye exam on time and prepping me before seeing the eye doctor. The doctor also recommend reducing my prescription and I immediately recognize my vision was better. He also answered all of my questions I had during the exam. Christine made my checkout process very efficient, educational and quick. I will most definitely be back to this store for all my eye care services. I am an incredibly clumsy person and break around a pair or two per year, and I recently bought this new pair that is much more expensive then I normally buy. I fell in love with them because they make me look older than I normally appear and not like a child, and they also bring out my eyes and are pink. However, no matter what I do I always end up messing something up, and I fell on them. I got them taken to vision works because my prescription ended up expiring, and I had the best worker. Ashley Billiot helped me get a new frame with my same lenses all within a day. I am so happy because of her; I can actually drive now and not have to wait another couple of months for my next eye appointment. I am so thankful for Ashley Billiot!

I’ve been going to this specific location for 3 years. I had an appointment for 2pm. Granted, I live roughly 25-30 minutes away on a good drive-in, so I arrived at 1:30p.When I entered the facility, as expected, it was set up in retrospect to COVID. There were 2, I suppose staff members at stations attending to patients. The first table a young lady, whom didn’t bother to make eye contact with me, just said, “ Hello, welcome to Visionworks, be with you in a minute.” There was an unattended sign-in table with hand sanitizer, a sign-in sheet which failed all HIPPA guidelines, and a temporal thermometer all laid out, where a staff member supposed to be at all times to record patient temps and place that reading next to their exposed name on the sign in sheet. Being a medical professional for 22 years, who is extremely familiar with the COVID guidelines, I read every sign in a facility to make sure I adhere to their policies because it’s very important. First of all, the area upon entry, too small especially if you do not have someone there at all times to attend to incoming traffic where there are NO signs on the floor to separate people 6 ft apart if more than one came in. Keep in mind that it’s a SMALL UNATTENDED area. Reluctantly, I signed in at 1:33p and I waited for someone to come take my temperature. I waited from the time I signed in, for over five minutes and still, no one came, so I decided to take a seat on the other side of a clear wall where there were 2 seats that appeared to be separated 8 ft apart. Before I can sit, the same young lady told me, did not ask me, but again told me, to please return back to the table, so she can take my temperature. Still, she never got up. It wasn’t 2 minutes and another patient came in. He signed in and went straight to look at glasses on the walls. She then told him to return to the sign- in area, for temperature checks. Still, she did not get up to attend to either one of us, to have our temperatures checked so we can move out of this confined space risking each other’s health. It wasn’t until a third person came in then she got up and began to acknowledge all 3 of us.She asked me my name and what time my appointment was for and then replied. She then tells me, “The doctor just went to lunch, so I can put you in a room in the back.” My reply, “No thank you; cancel this appointment.” I understand first hand that sometimes, appointments run over which cause late lunches. However, it’s how you clearly communicate the message to someone. Therefore, my decision is to NEVER RETURN TO THAT LOCATION. My decision is predicated to the UNPROFESSIONALISM that that particular employee whom in my opinion, need additional education on the seriousness of COVID and how to prevent it, Law and Ethics pin pointing HIPPA training, as well as a course in Cultural and Sensitivity basics, when communicating with patients.No, I do not recommend this location to any friends let alone my family, never!

This was my first time to a Visionworks to purchase eyewear. I had an amazing experience. They require customers to make an appt prior to the visit (I think this is mainly due to COVID) but were able to schedule us as a walk-in. Ashley was awesome, positive attitude, made the whole experience pleasant. Its rare to find such people at eye retailers. She provided suggestions for frames, was very patient. She also clearly knows her stuff, if it wasnt for the technical insurance issues, wouldve finished a lot faster (in a good not hurried way). Shes very committed to just her current patient. The store has a pretty good selection of frames, great deals if you have VSP insurance. Would highly recommend!

My initial visit was easy- later on in the evening but definitely quick and easy- I was one of the last in the office so most of the eyewear options were all ready off the wall (due to covid - they have to sanitize them.) feeling like I hadn’t seen All the options I asked could I come back a later time - when they had more items available. One woman handed a Copy of the prescription to me- and and told me she would make an appointment with me for the following Saturday in the morning- when all items would be sanitized and clean. Even wrote it on my envelope so I would not forget. -I am not normally off on Saturdays but I made sure to take half a day to come in.- When I arrive - I find that no appointment is made, the woman at the door seemed irritated like I was either lying or unsure of what I was talking about. Due to work I could not take any of the hours later appointments she very nonchalantly offered and even expressed she didn’t know why anyone would tell me to come back in the morning. Idk if this is a thing they usually do- but between wasting gas- taking time off work- AND still not having glasses ordered- I’m good on ever coming back.

So annoyed. I have waited weeks for my glasses to come in, only to have to wait ANOTHER week just to PICK UP the glasses. Glad I made an order at Zenni Optical which came in and I have been wearing for 5 days now. Dropped off at my door, no BS appointment to pick up my order and I got glasses and prescription sunglasses for less than what I paid for 1 set of glasses with insurance from this place (and no my frames were NOT a brand name but the in-house name) Last time I deal with this place. I understand its a pandemic, but I just need to PICK UP, thats it, just stick my glasses through the door and Id be on my way. Oh and dont bother calling, this location NEVER picks up the phone. You will listen to terrible music for an eternity that just repeats over and over with instructions to go to their website or remain on the line.

Just had the worst customer service experience in my life went In to pay a balance due and the three other people working there made me wait for the only girl who was apparently working oh correction the manager had a customer too but when she finished her customer held a 20 minute personal conversation and went to the back after before deciding to finally ask me if she could help me the one other girl working had already told her co worker she didn’t know how to do what I was there to do and the manager overheard her I know and offered no assistance I also know someone personally who quit and now I know why that manager is the Pitts when I asked what was going on actually told me she would put my glasses back instead of apologizing she needs a lesson in customer service. No wait she needs to be fired ! Do not do business with this place it’s terrible

I went on a Tuesday at little before three. Seems like a quite time. There were three staff members, and three sets of customers being waited on, I was the only customer roaming around, no problem. They told me where to look at frames, they have a nice selection. But after over 20 minutes of looking, not a single sale was complete, not one! Funny, two of them had already signed paperwork while I was still looking! Even though upon entering I was told it would be a few minutes, 20+ minutes was too much for me. There was another customer behind me who also got told it would be just a few minutes for him too, poor guy. Good news though, when I left, his wait time decreased! Not going back.

I looked up Visionworks on Severn in Metairie to get new glasses. No where on the website did it say you needed an appointment. When I arrived and saw the notice on the door, I opened the door and stood in the door entrance, did not enter store. The sales person started yelling at me to wait outside. I told her that i just wanted to get glasses and why did the website not state you need an appointment. She started yell again at me at which time, i told her I understand the mask and social distancing. but this lady was so rude and unprofessional. I have used visionworks before, but never again. Went to Vision Optique and had great service and the staff was very professional. Never again will I go to Vision works.

This is by far the BEST eye care center I have EVER visited. I made an appointment at Visionworks because I wanted an eye care center in Metairie and Visionworks was designated as a PREMIER center in my VSP vision network coverage directory. The staff was professional and really polite and friendly. The eye doctor was also pleasant, professional and very patient with my questions during my eye exam. I ordered progressive/transition glasses and they were also kind enough to repair another pair of glasses I had where the nose guard fell off and they were so kind and prompt with that service request. I HIGHLY recommend Visionworks!

Went to Visionworks on June 23, everything fine, had exam picked out glasses. When the glasses came in and I couldnt see clearly with them they said I have to give them 2 weeks to get used to them (even though I have worn progressive lenses for over 10 years). So the 2 weeks went by, they said the soonest they could see me was July 17th. I came in on the 17th only to be told the first thing I need to do is have the doctor check my prescription and the soonest I could do that was the 21st. I had to wait 1 hour after my appointment time before the doctor came to see me (no apology for the wait) The doctor noticed the lenses were a little crooked. I was told they could remake them, but only 1 time. This was on July 21st. On August 4th I called to see if the glasses came in. They told me it takes 2 weeks and the order didnt go out until July 31st, no explanation on why it took 10 days to even send them out. August 11th I called again, they said they had to remake them again because they didnt come out right but they would have to email the lab and that would take 2 days. Today is August 14th, I called and was told they are not in yet. I asked to check what the problem was then was told they are in but not checked in yet and I can come pick them up on August 19th. I said if you cant get me in between Friday and Monday I want a refund and will go elsewhere. She said a manager will call me. We shall see.Followup: They couldnt find time to give me glasses. No one ever called me. Picked up receipt for refund and will go elsewhere.

I needed to be seen the same day as I called because of coverage issues and Ashley was incredibly sympathetic and fit me in. I received an eye exam, and ordered my glasses all within about an hour! Ashley even helped me pick the frames since I was obviously having some commitment issues. The entire experience was very positive and uplifting. I am so impressed with their customer service. I went in to get some prescription reading glasses and got helped right away. The frames I picked out were inexpensive with the discount and they had the lenses in stock. My reading glasses were ready in an hour. They are great! I went to the store several times and they have been friendly, professional and nice on each occasion. I am now looking at buying a pair of regular eyeglasses there and buying the same frames because I like them so much. Also, their prices are quite reasonable.

I’d like to commend the professional service I received at Vision Works on Severn. We spent about an hour and a half with Bri. She explained all of our benefits, while patiently waiting on hold to speak with the insurance company and entertaining us. We went back the following day and they traced my sons new glasses, for existing frames in half an hour. They also under promised and over deliverd. His second pair of glasses arrived days before promised. The staff is both friendly and helpful. You can tell the staff enjoys each other and the customers they service. Highly recommend and will be a returning customer in the future.

Dont waste your time. Insurance should have covered all but $45 of my daughters prescription. But the nice salesperson explained to her why we needed $178 worth of coatings. They never called to tell us glasses were ready after 2 weeks.

Went in after suggestion from my insurance company. Doctors visit was great. Ordered trial contacts and never got a call to pick them up two weeks later. Asked about ordering contacts online (same brand they ended up ordering with a 2 week wait - see below) where it would have been cheaper and was told they had to get the doctor to change the type. Was then told that my order for the boxes was on back order 5-6 weeks! Found another type that would work and will arrive in 2 weeks. Again, NEVER got a call. Had to constantly stay on them. The doctor I saw supposed only worked there once a month. Had to stay on top of them to find out about contacts. They said that they called and left messages, but the number they had was wrong. Went in to get trials and had them fix the number. STILL NEVER GOT A CALL WHEN THEY ARRIVED. Service was unacceptable and I will not be returning.

Very professional and courteous! They didn’t sale me based on wants but helped me explore my needs and discover what was best for me. The VISIONWORKS on Severn Ave is the BOMB!! The staff is very professional and guided me every step of the way, from the time I wAlked in for the exam until I left with my new glasses in hand! They made them in less than an hour. I’m very happy and will certainly return and recommend to anyone.

I dont know what these negative reviews are about. Ive been using this VisionWorks for over 5 years, and EVERYONE has been great. They are super patient with my kids, help save me money when they destroy the glasses and have put paper clips in to hold them together. They take time and salvage them until my annual visit. Now heres the catch... make an appointment. If you walk in without an appointment on a Saturday and want 5 star service you are not being fair to them. This place has saved me time and money! Ashley is a ROCK STAR! Dr. Finkelstein is a gem.

No organization. No customer service. Just Horrible. Long wait times. Picked up my glasses and couldnt see. Why? Because the first doctor examined me wrong thus i had to have another exam..What does that mean? A totally different prescription and wait time for more lens. It gets better, after waiting weeks, I went to pick up the new glasses only to find out that they broke my lenses and wanted me to wait a few more weeks for more. Worse part of all was that i called Corporate to file a complaint and request that the area manager call me back. Its been a month plus and im still waiting for a call. Just rude. Fun times at this establishment!!! I will never return.

No organization. Ordered contacts. Waited 3 wks, was promptly assured they were ordered. After no phone call for a month we went in to only find out they had not ordered the contacts. Terrible customer service experience. Have to have all insurance information entered again. . . I just hope more people dont have the experience we did.

TERRIBLE !!! DO NOT GO HERE! rude and unknowledgeable staff, over charged me $100 personally and charged my insurance company for upgrades on my glasses that I DID NOT order, and I only found this out once my insurance sent me the paperwork from the order. Im pretty sure this place is scamming both customers and insurance companies. My glasses were also suppose to only take one week and they took 3, every time I called for an update they would just say We dont know, call later - after being transferred to various employees and hung up on at least 5 times. Even the manager is a lost cause. VERY VERY RUDE. After waiting 2 weeks longer than I was suppose to - my glasses were wrong.
