The more than 45 min wait was silly. One customer ahead of me and nearly an hour? The greeting and directions were rather abrupt. I was a new customer. Out of state plates would be an indicator of that. I waited in my car as no further directions were given. Customer behind me was greeted and assisted completely different. Younger? Prettier? Probably. I had overheard a customer being reminded to get the free car wash. I had to ask. Then the directions TO the car wash was over there. My code for it was not on my receipt so after waiting for almost 5 minutes, I honked. A fella sauntered over and told me I have the code. Pull forward. That 1950 vintage car wash was an insult to a customer who just paid her bill of OVER $50 with EXACT change. The exit was not clearly marked. Go left? Right? NOPE. Maneuver a 3 point turn around and go out past the ancient mariner style car wash. Dear Gates Chevy World on McKinley in Mishawaka--L.O. Gates would be ashamed of your service and oil change area. Bring back customer SATISFACTION. Even Van Gates would be embarrassed. Will I be back? Probably not. Was it because I drive a Ford? Because I have gray hair? Was this service typical? Only Gates can answer these questions.
Brought my car in for an oil leak. Received a call back with the issue and said go ahead and fix it despite it being crazy expensive. Service vented told me it would be done that Thursday or Friday at the latest. I called Friday because I heard nothing and the guy told me he would call me back It is now Monday and I still don’t have my car and never heard back from the guy that was supposed to call back. Really disappointed this time with you guys.**Edit. JB went above and beyond to get me the best price they could do on a new engine after having to bring the car back. It did take some back and forth and frustration but I really appreciate his professionalism during these trying times.
Very happy with the service I received. Got an oil change and a recall fixed in a timely manner. Thank you.
Kim was extremely friendly and helpful. Got my car in and out in 36 hours. And is driving great again.
Did fast work.
Great Service and people!
Brett is awesome! I have two corvettes and two Escalade’s. Brett handles all of my service work. He’s hard working and honest!
Well we decided to lease a new car if that says anything. The salesman was very nice. It was a really busy Saturday for them and they did everything to keep us comfortable during the process.
This is the place to buy your vehicle, and get it repaired.
Always pleasant and easy to work with.I have both vehicles serviced there and all major repairs done.My truck is in now for a radiator and I am sure it will be done right.
Glen from Gates was great to work with while purchasing my car.
Went to get my oil changed at Gates on McKinley. Arrived at 2:45pm and was told there would be an hour and a half wait. After waiting for 3 hours and watching other customers come and go I asked to speak with a manager to find out what was taking so long. After waiting for another 20 mins being ignored by the employees my keys were brought in to the desk. The man working the counter called to me to tell me my car was ready and that they were sorry for the wait. I again asked to speak with the manager and was told he had left for the day and to have a good day. Very very unhappy with the service I received there. Was my first time going there, but since I had just bought a brand new car from them I figured Id give it a try. Will not return there again
Very satisfied with the amount of time I had to wait.
Only shop I trust. Brett is an amazing person and super helpful in any situation.
