The crew that closed up shop on Saturday exceeded customer service standards of any bike shop Ive been in. The three guys tried hard to seat the bead on a tricky tire for easily 30-45 mins to no avail, but refused to even take a tip or charge me for their time. They sold me the presta>shrader adapter I needed to get me out of my mess and delayed their after work ride to help me out. Thanks again!

Does social distancing and being stuck at home got you down? Then head on over to the Bicycle Hanger on Brooks St or Higgins Ave. Get a new bike or have them tune up your old trusty. Pete and his employees will go above and beyond to ensure you are well taken care of. Youll be glad that you did.

Great service and friendly, honset staff overall. Over the years they have done work for me in instances where they could have charged me more, but they didnt. Their LIFETIME free adjustment on their bikes I think is an amazing deal - I had previously bought my mountain bike somewhere else that did not have this.I recently was biking to work when I noticed my handlebar stem was loose. Not having any tools with me, I went into Big Sky Bikes on South street since it was close and asked if I could briefly borrow a wrench to continue my commute safely. I was told they dont lend out tools. Not having my wallet with me, I asked if they wouldnt mind taking 30 seconds to tighten it. The mechanic agreed and put it up on the stand, only to be reprimanded by a supervisor for giving out free work. They took my bike off the stand and more or less told me I was out of luck.I walked over to the Bicycle Hangar and they cheerfully tightened it for me, making extra sure that my whole stem, headset, and front fork assembly was safe to ride.As a result I went back later to spend money buying product and decided to write this review. The point is not to go here for free work or cheap labor, but youll find an honest, caring, straightforward shop that knows how to take care of their customers.

Mike was super helpful in finding me bikes within my given price range, and super patient with my indecisiveness. They encourage riding anything you might like out in the parking lot to test it out. In the end I ended up going a little over my initial budget, but it was worth it for the free tune up for life (or as long as you live in MT). They gave a once over while I rang up, and before I left asked if there was anything else I wanted done to the bike. The Hanger has improved 3-fold over the years!

Nice people and good bike, but I paid $120 to rent a $700 bike for four days. I could have rented a car for that.Response: You guys were clear about the price up front. I rented it anyways because life is short. Also, I didnt want to rent a car, bikes are the way to do Missoula for sure, and I had an awesome time getting around. That was all great. My point is entirely that you charge too much.

After a week of bike shopping at every store and dealing with snotty sales people and not being able to test the bikes before buying them i finally went to Bicycle hanger where Rafael had me out the door going crazy on a bike (he even recommended a bike that is 1/3 the price of what I was looking for) then went through every detail on my bike i needed from Cleats to Bottle holders installing them before i paid (which got him to ask if i was playing with him of course) But after all this help i painfully enjoyed the ting tings thanks to peter and Zack, so again Id like to thank all the help i got today from the 3 workers and am excited to deal further with Bicycle hanger!Chandler Crow

Went in a couple of times late in the day. Was helped by Mike originally who took the time to really discuss my options with me and taking all things into account gave me a good education about my options. I went to a couple of other shops that carry other brands and were not nearly as informative. I believe the comments by the owner of the Specialized dealer sent me out of their store and straight back to The Bicycle Hangar where Chris patiently took the time to get down just about each and every bike they had to find the right fit for me. With a family to outfit eventually, and as a small business owner in Missoula myself, Im definitely happy I was able to make a connection here, and would definitely recommend them to my friends, family and clients. ~ Thanks Guys!

The worst customer service. We are shopping for 3 bicycles. Had visited other bike shops around town as well. They were all equally busy. One gentleman was working on a bicycle, who never acknowledged us, the other helping another customer and said he would be right with us....until 2 others came in for repairs, he chose to help them first, ignoring us. We walked out. They have just lost my business.

I bought a Giant 29er Talon 3 bike from The Bike Hanger on Saturday, got home and realized I, after testing out several bikes at the shop, that I picked the wrong sized bike. I got Large but really needed an Medium. I live 130 miles away, but I called the BH and they immediately found the medium frame bike and pulled it out for me. I got back to Missoula on Thursday, and there was my bike. A quick (Im talking less than 5 minutes) exchange of bikes and I was on my way with the correct sized bike. Its hard to find that level of customer service anymore, but it still exists at the Bike Hanger in Missoula. Thanks to them, Im riding the correct bike and Im a very happy customer.

I was a long time customer of the bicycle hanger but will not do business there anymore. A bicycle I bought at the bike Hanger was stolen and I called the Bike Hanger to see if they had the serial number in their records. The owner of the store would not return my calls. I called several times, stopped by store in person, and left messages that I am certain the employees delivered to the owner. After 10 days or so I finally got the owner on the phone, and he was not friendly or helpful. He claimed that he couldnt access the records anymore, which I dont fully believe -- it sounded to me that he just wasnt willing to go to the trouble due to the records being on an old system. Regardless, the fact that the store owner ignored my repeated calls and messages was what bothered me the most. I regret spending money at this bike shop and wont make that mistake again.

The first time I walked in this shop was in 2005 after a belly full at Freemos Pizza. I have been to every bike shop in town and ended up always coming back to the hangar. Nothing against any other shops, we have some great bicycle knowledge in Missoula, this shop simply suits me and my riding style. The majority of my experiences here have been fantastic and I feel like a long term customer who has always been taken care of. Last, if you arent an actual bicycle mechanic, you cant beat free service for life. Ill always be back. BH4L.
