Knowledgeable and friendly people who know bikes.I have purchased two bikes from Big Sky Bikes. The staff was extremely helpful. They did not try to rush me into purchasing a bike, and allowed me to make an informed decision. I really appreciate the time and effort they took and the valuable information they gave me. Also, their mechanical work is excellent. Anything you need for your bike they have it or will get it for you. I highly recommend BSB when getting out on the road and trails.

Great service assembling the bike, checked with me and explained any improvements they thought I might need without being pushy. Even helped me mount my bike rack and adjust my shocks. Exceptional shop, staff, bikes and gear. I have dealt with Big Sky Bikes for almost 20 years. I find myself very critical of people, gear, shops and experiences (Ive spent 30 years in the customer service industry) and have always left very satisfied. I have bought at least 8 bikes from them over the years and have never been disappointed. They have an AMAZING kids bike/ trade up program that is unheard of. My son has progressed through 3 bikes over the years so far.The staff is very knowledgeable and never afraid to ask the other staff of differing thoughts and opinions. The quality of the bikes they offer and the number they have on hand is amazing. They have always made it easy to order specialty and unique items that most shops cant/ dont carry (due to expense to have in stock)I highly recommend Big Sky Bikes!!!!!!

Dropped my bike off for a scheduled tune up but apparently I did so a day earlier according to them when I called them before closing to find if my bike was done. They didn’t bother to tell me about the schedule miscommunication when I dropped it off nor bothered to call me either. I asked them if I left it overnight if they could give me a finish time the next day. They couldn’t nor did they make any effort to correct the miscommunication and which was their fault. Seem pretty disorganized and apathetic to fix a wrong at this place. Needless to say I will take my business elsewhere.

Best bike shop in town. Ive been going to Big Sky Bikes for 5+ years and they have always been super responsive, friendly, and helpful. Fast service, excellent in-store selection of bikes, parts and accessories, and fair prices. The owner has helped me build a couple of custom bikes over the years and all of them fit great and suit my riding style. Highly recommend!

I really wanted to support a local shop but sadly Big Sky Bikes has been less than impressive and their customer service really poor. I purchased an expensive mountain bike there last year and after less than 2 months the tubeless tire was leaking sealant. I went in and showed them and stated that I had just bought this and had hardly used it. After spending almost 4k on a bike I was expecting them to not charge me and offer the basic and low-cost fix for free - you know, good customer service and all. Not the case. We tried again and my husband used them for major repairs and upgrades. He had to go back because something wasnt right and they give him attitude and were not helpful at all. If you want the best bike-mechanic in town go see Bob at REI. We also found Hellgate and the Bicycle Hangar to be much more friendly and knowing their stuff!

This is such a great shop. The owner and staff are super friendly and helpful. I have bought several bikes and parts there. They are my go-to shop. I have always been treated well there, since day one. They have a great inventory of bikes and parts. Support your local bike shop!

I bought my daughter her first “big kid” bike for her 7th birthday and she loves it! We live in South Hills and she has been getting around so easily. We got her the Specialized brand hotrock 24 and it was definitely worth the money. We had to get the bike shipped to the store and it was slightly delayed because of everything that is happening with COVID-19. I called the store a handful of times to ask the status and talked to an employee named Jackson. I just wanted to give him a shout out for being very professional and helpful. Never once blew me off even though there was nothing he could do about the shipping delay he still took the time with me on the phone. The bike was delivered only 1 day after my daughter’s birthday so wound up being just fine and after her riding it for a few days now it was definitely worth the wait. Thank you big sky bikes!

I generally do not get along well with bike shops. The guys at Big Sky are extremely courteous and professional. They have an excellent knowledge base. I have a full shop in my house and rarely pay for service, but I take my bike to Big Sky when I need a second opinion. I always feel like it is money well spent.

Excessively overpriced. If you are looking for parts such as replacement housing, cables, tubes, brake pads, etc.. they mark their products a minimum of 40% higher than ALL the other shops around town. Just the other day I bought a single pair of brake pads for $22 from another shop that big sky bikes had priced at $35 for the exact same product. However, their service is great, as they are always pleasant and helpful. Would love to give them my business if they started pricing things more competitively.

Missoula is an awesome place! We have so much opportunity to do fun stuff. We are also fortunate to have multiple gear stores to choose from to support our adventures. Big Sky Bikes continues to keep me on the trail and road with new gear, but also bailing out my botched home repairs. Thanks for keeping me pedaling, smiling, and far from a cardiologists office!!!

Rented a ladies and a mans mountain bike today. Good quality bikes, knowledgeable staff with helpful information about the trails, fair price and quickly got us underway. Great experience all round. Would definitely recommend.

Bought a replacement crank (was not in box).  Shouldnt have thrown out receipt, but not sure it would have mattered anyway.  Turned out to have striped pedal threads.  Owner said we didnt sell you a striped crank - several times.  Though I had visa statement in hand, he couldnt find me in his computer.  Said as far as hes concerned, the sale didnt happen.  Said he would figure out what was going on, but they had not sold me a striped crank. Insisted I was making something up.  Some back and forth continues and I say this is pretty bad customer service.  He then marches to the front door, opens it, gestures for me to leave and says I dont need you as a customer.  Wow, cant ever remember having had an experience like that.

These folks know what theyre doing and provide excellent value and an excellent experience. We walked into their shop four minutes before closing and needed a little help. They stayed late and took care of us. We highly recommend Big Sky Bikes!

Bought a bike from these guys a couple of months ago. They had to order it in. They had it shipped and pieced together in a timely fashion. I live in Kalispell, and they held the bike for me until I could come pick it up at NO cost. They also offer one-year of tune ups free with purchase. When I went to pick up my bike, they made sure everything was up to my specifications before I left the store. Every time I have been in there, I was promptly greeted by one of their associates. They have always been excellent about answering any questions I have and going beyond with tips, etc. I highly recommend this shop! I have to say, none of my business, but I saw a review on here about marked up shipping. I have shipped a couple guitars and amps recently that shipping was outrageous for via either USPS or UPS. I can say with faith that Big Sky Bikes has absolutely nothing to do with the shipping markup.

Dropped in while traveling due to a stripped pedal and crank arm, they tapped it and repaired it in about 5 mins for $10. Super friendly and fast. THANK YOU

I had an challenge with a purchase from this shop and the owner, Robert, personally took care of me and resolved the issue. He was willing to stand by his shop and to make sure the guest experience was a positive one.

After walking out of another bike shop earlier in the day because they were socially inept, I came in with a beat up kids bike and received friendly, professional and kind service by multiple staff. My bike was evaluated and recommendations were made. They made a simple repair to get us by for a while so I could take the kids riding this weekend, evaluate whether a big overhaul made sense, and I did not feel one ounce of pressure. Our family owns a load of bikes of varying quality and I have tried many shops in town. I am excited to find one that values customer service!

I brought in my bike last winter to get fitted for winter tires. I tried putting on the tires this fall and they sold me the wrong size. I went in to trade for the correct size and they were unwilling to do a fair trade. Tags were still on the unused tires and the purchase was still in the computer system. I was very disappointed to not receive any sort of trade or compensation for a mistake made on their part.

I was looking for a good price, good service, and a good shop. I found it at Big Sky Bikes.

Big Sky Bikes has been my family’s shop for quite awhile. They have incredible bikes and a giant selection of parts and fun upgrades. I have also learned so much from these guys about my bikes and how to ride them. Everyone in this shop can rip and they are always happy to answer my questions on everything MTB ing from braking in corners, catching a little air and general nutrition. Great shop for kids as well!

Prices are outrageous relative to every other shop in town and online, and they will rudely turn down requests to price match. Their business model relies entirely on customers who dont know enough about bikes to price check parts or labor. I recently got a quote of $100 for a 10-speed Ultegra cassette, which has an MSRP (not even sale price) of $63. Multiple online retailers had it listed for $50 with free shippingI usually call multiple shops when I need work done, but I dont even bother with Big Sky anymore. Their labor estimates have been substantially and consistently higher than other shops for small tasks like brake bleeds and dropper post installation.

My brother bought a bike yesterday and for some reason the shocks malfunctioned and were stuck in the locked position. The owner was kind enough to not only replace the fork but replace it with a much nicer one that what came with the bike. They have the best customer service of all time. They always tune up my bike without making a huge deal of it like most shops do

Unwelcoming, mean, snobby, overpriced and dont fo thebest repairs. After getting in a crash, I had them check my bike, then I got a new bike they put it together and gave me my old bike back, and couldnt even throw it away. My new bikes broken twice (the handle bar and the chain since I got it. They did a horrible job putting it back together! Dont go here please

I came in asking questions and the manager/owner became rude and admittedly upset for asking him to explain the costs associated with different bikes. As I was leaving he further proceeded to insult me and claim I was being cheap and told me to go buy a cheap bike somewhere else!

By far the worst customer service experience Ive ever had, and that includes over 15 years working in the outdoor retail industry. Ive never met employees so apathetic and lazy about helping and keeping a customer. They worked on my bike and oversold me on parts I didnt need. When I confronted them about it, they acted like they did nothing wrong and they were completely uninterested in resolving my problem.Ive now known three different people who have had problems with their staff and this emphatically demonstrates why the South St. location went out of business with employees like this. I only went to this shop because it was close to my house. Never again. Beware, this shop will bilk you out of your money with no qualms.

No rentals even though google says yes and then I phoned to confirm and was told yes . Went to the shop and was told no rentals by the Obnoxious staff . Whose excuse was we’ve been trying to change the google maps info for three years !!! . Apparently when you phone the number you are put through to a different branch . Absolute time wasters .Also my friend went the same shop and he said the staff weren’t very nice .Nuff said 👎🏻

Expect them to take your money but not order your parts. Then when they get the parts, dont expect them to fit your bike. Maybe if they were professional theyd ask you the right questions before they wasted your time. Dont plan on having anyone there call you back either. And planning two weeks in advance wont give you enough time...

Dont know about the bike, but we were quoted 65 dollars for shipping to glasgow mt. they just called and changed shipping to 165 dollars. when i visit missoula and home i will visit them. that is a rediculous markup on shipping.
