I brought my bike in the other day for work that was long overdue. I use a prosthetic and have an unusual set up with a dual brake lever and shifting set up both on the left handle bar, making it tricky to work on. In short, of the 3 different shops I have taken this bike to in the last 5 years, this is the smoothest my brakes have worked and its the first time I have been able to use all of the gears on this bike. The fix was done at a very reasonable price and the mechanic offered options on some work that could be done to improve the set-up in the future. Great job!

I bought a Trek 820 about 6 months ago and then later a handle bar extension. I was starting to have issues with my handlebar turning independent of the wheel. when I brought the bike in not only did they fix it for free but they also gave me a free tune. Not only do you get quality equipment, but when that equipment has issues they have your back so you dont lose out just because of the minor manufacturing issue. I am very pleased and probably wont buy another bike anywhere else for the rest of my life.

The BEST! These guys are awesome! They really bend over backwards to get your bike up & going. When I first got to Missoula I got a flat, right in front of their store (how convenient right?) I walked in and they fixed my flat for free. Today 10 yrs later I took my back wheel in, they fixed it up found the issue and I was out if there for $12.So Professional... Thanks again guys.

Excellent Bike Store. Really great and knowledgeable staff. Customer service is “on-point”: They happily help with any problems and back-up all their products. ☀️☀️Possibly the best bike-store in Missoula. Highly recommended. We will definitely go back to Open Road Bikes for our future purchases. Thanks to all the folks at Open Road, for being a welcoming and fun bike store with great gear!☀️☀️

I cannot express how great these guys are. I brought in a mountain bike, not carried by Open Road, to get serviced and they took great care of me. The parts were brought in quickly and the cost came in under their estimate. Paul gave me several tips to extend the life of my bike. Needless to say, I will continue to use Open Road for all my biking needs.

If you don’t want people in your store during the pandemic you should really close the store. Ready to spend $1200 and walked due to poor /lack of customer service. Husband loved the bikes but couldn’t justify the purchase when treated like we weren’t welcome to be there.

Took my bike in for a tune-up, $59. Was told right away that my cassette would have to be replaced raising the total to $110. Picked it up and a block away my rear break lost pressure. I took it back and asked for help. Said I could leave it there but no time to do it now, though he was standing there when I arrived. Left with the bike and a block down the road I decided they needed to fix it. Went back and he was standing again. Convinced him to bleed the brake which he did for a few minutes. I said is it good to go and he said good as its gonna get for now, and then told me I had the worst disc brake made which would have been good info before I left with the bike before. I went on a ride and on the uphill my shifters were way off on my new cassette. On the downhill my back brake failed. Really scary. Took my bike to The Bicycle Hanger and right away guy told me my rear brake needed replaced to safely ride the bike, first thing he noticed. I left my bike with them and $160 later my bike is completely fixed including the replacement of a crucial piece to my headset. I will never go to Open Road again. I would not have written this review if I hadnt felt like my safety was jeopardized.

Ive had repairs/maintenance done at a few other shops in Missoula, and Open Road is definitely the best. Matthew just installed an internally routed dropper post for me and did an excellent job with a sub 24 hour turn-around. All of the other shops I called either quoted me a higher price or said it wouldnt be ready for a few days.

Missoula has a lot of bike shops, and this is one of my favorites. Its not the biggest, but I always feel like the mechanics listen to whats going on with my bikes, my efforts to address the problem, and then provide excellent economical service in addressing the issue (and letting me know what it was and how they fixed it) and getting my wheels back on the road.

Not just the worst bike shop in Missoula, but the worst I have ever set foot in. I have had only bad experiences with this place. The owner seems to actually hold customers in contempt. Avoid this place at all costs. Go to Big Sky Bikes or Missoula Bicycle Works instead.
