Doing research on Japanese domestic vans since thinking about buying one. Because the vans that are allowed to be imported need to be 25 years or older, I thought I would give them a call to get some advice on which Japanese vans tend to hold up better mechanically over the long run. the answer I got was I am not familiar with Japanese imports

I was recently tasked with helping my mother bring her 2002 RAV4 back to life. With the current used car prices being heavily inflated we thought this would be best vs her buying a new one. After speaking with a friend, they recommended Karl at Japanese Imports Auto. ( He has been their mechanic for over 25 years.) I brought the car to him will all sorts of issues. Check engine light, emissions issues, a sunroof that leaks etc. Karl did an amazing job going above and beyond ! Toyota wanted over $1000 for a replacement sunroof. Karl went out of his way and went on Ebay, ordered a replacement sunroof and installed it for less than a quarter what it would have cost at the dealer. Who else offers this kind of service ? He made the repairs, tuned it up, didnt upsell and did only what was truly needed. Now a little trip over to So Fresh So clean auto detailing off of Kansas ave, and she will be good as new.Karl, you have our business as long as you are in business !

I had a very positive experience with a Smog test at Japanese Imports Auto Service. They snuck me in late in the day and did the work with efficiency and a very fair price.

I had my 2008 Honda CRV smog tested in May. They were fast and price was real reasonable, without a coupon.

This is a great place. I waited about 10 minutes then the guy came back, apologized then took my car back. 15 minutes and $30 with a coupon. Great!

The attendant who drove/worked on my car was not wearing a mask.

1st call of course we can do that 2-6 calls later yes I will get back to you with a quote, next morning I don’t want to do it. I thought shops were supposed to be helpful not less people on a wild goose chase. If the work wasn’t going to be done in the first place then should have said so from the beginning.

They were incredibly friendly, quick and got my car smogged in about 15 minutes. They are right next to Target so you can shop while you wait

I went in to have my car smogged due to it was one of the few places open near my house. Before I even got to the door the fuy came out and flat out said is there engine modifications. I told him I had state legal Modifications with Carb sticker and plate on them. It has a 2.2L DOHC he put in the system that it was a 1.6L and it failed miserably. I have no idea how this happened since it was just smogged previously 4 months ago and passed no problem and then got parked. I honestly dont think this guy knew what he was doing. I honestly feel like I was robbed by this guy. Then I went back and told him that there might be a mistake when he entered the engine size and he was super rude and just dismissed me. Would never recommend this place to anyone I know. Would rather drive 3 hrs to get my car smogged somewhere else.

The only place I get smog checks in the Valley. Honest, fair priced and usually little if any wait. Without hesitation I would refer them to everyone.

This shop damaged my car and didn’t tell me anything. I understand accidents happen and I’m ok with that. I’m not ok with noticing the damage when I see my car. I will not recommend anybody to this shop.
