Great neighborhood cigar store with extensive selection well priced cigars. The space is comfortable with some leather chairs, sofas, and tables. A wide variety of cigars are displayed in clean, well lit cases. Great quiet place just off the hustle and bustle of Bourbon St.

I am not a big cigar person. But I do like to try new things. This place has a wide variety of cigar on display in clean cases. The staff provided excellent service and knowledgeable about the cigar. He really took the time to talk about the different types of cigar and help me make a really good choice. Great atmosphere, it has chairs, sofas, and table to relax. It is just a few blocks away from Bourbon Street. Very pleased with my purchase and the overall experience. I would definitely recommend this place. Newly getting into cigars and don’t know a whole lot. Stopped in here and the guy(whose name I did not get) was very helpful and friendly. Asked me what I liked and Pointed out a few for me. Large selection and a comfortable little smoking area right in the main room. Would def recommend stopping in here.

The French quarter has several stores for people like me who life is just the time, between cigars. I’ve been too them all and I have to say that “Smoke on the Water” in my opinion is the best shop for the money, hands down. All the humidors are digitally controlled, the place is sparkling clean, they have a public restroom for customers, that’s a big one for us guys while drinking and enjoying a cigar. I’ve never meet the owner but I have meet one of the nicest and most knowledgeable sales reps named Matt. He helped me find everything I wanted including the elusive Perez Carrillo, that I’ve been on the hunt for he had in stock no problem. If you love the opus X they have every version of it all the way up too the mega high end Opus collections in Lacquered and highly polished humidors, they have it. Clean comfortable and well maintained in every way. I thought I knew more about lighters than most people I even learned a few tricks from Matt as he topped off and adjusted a lighter I was purchasing.It’s a BYOB place he told me as I was leaving there today. I’ve got 5 more days left of my vacation here in the French Quarter. I will be frequenting this store a few more times before I leave for home I’m sure. If you want to buy cigars in the French Quarter and care about the condition (RH) of the sticks your buying, you can’t beat Smoke on the Water.

Theres cool, and theres COOL. Smoke on the Water is Dr. John cool. After, a long search I finally found it and was mislead by the outward brick outer facade. I stepped through the door to a real cool place, an expansive long room (shaped like the capital letter I), comfortable, low lit and playing real classic jazz. Numerous leather couches greeted you. The most notable trademark is SOTW doesnt have a walk in humidor, but several humidor cabinets (again not a fan), with glass doors from floor to ceiling that ran along the walls; but there were so many it allowed for a huge selection of choice premium cigars. You smoke it, they had it. It reminded me of finding a place with with a huge selection of beer stucked in walk up coolers. But, let me be clear the cabinets were beauties, from the floor to ceiling and well made-which caught my attention. So, this spot was nirvana for cigars, with everything youd want in a cigar lounge and with some lagniappe, a true NOLA vibe.My one critique was the high premium place on the cigars. But, what are you going to do. Its compete or die I guess for French Quarter tobbaccoist, but double and triple the price soured me on SOTW. I made a purchase, but sadly I simply cant afford to be THAT cool (FQ premium cigar prices). Lesson learned, but for a price...you can.

Don’t come here if you want a lounge experience haha. There are about 6 seats inside and if the manager and his friends are all there, expect to sit in their outdoor area. It would have been fine if there were heat lamps out there, but there weren’t. Definitely was too cold to enjoy a smoking experience. During shopping for our cigars it was just awkward. The manager was not outwardly rude, but didn’t engage in any sort of conversation with us and when I asked a question about a couple sticks I was met with a one sentence answer. As we were leaving he just sat on his phone while we were trying to say goodbye. Their selection is fine, but as far as somewhere to smoke and lounge around at, I wouldn’t choose this place.

Loved the great selection. We decided to sit it the smoking lounge up front ( they have a members lounge in the back ) within an hour we had a herf of 8 going.Great place to meet new people and find out what and where to go while in NOLA.Safe travels

My favorite French Quarter cigar shop. Knowledgeable, friendly staff, great selection, good prices and QUIET, comfy seating. Combined with easy availability of drinks within a one to two block radius and it cant be beat.
