Wonderful visit, I was shopping for parts for an amplifier build but also just enjoying the store. Very nice owner and staff, I had an easy time finding everything (organizing electronics components in a manageable way is difficult to do properly!), and there was a great selection. Unfortunately the owner is selling, but I hope the new owner continues their great practices!

This is a great place with a very knowledgeable owner. I strongly suggest you come here and support this business versus ordering online. They will make sure that you get what you need and it is most likely in stock. I drive here from East Hampton for any of my needs, like a nine pin serial to USB adapter today.

Installing an expansion card in my PC and it came with the wrong power connector. Stopped in with the instructions from the package and pictures on my phone of the free connectors inside my PC. The gentleman I spoke with was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and steered me to the proper cable and even gave me instructions for the install!

Made a phone call sure enough cables and connectors had what I needed and at a reasonable price. I will be back over and over again.

You may find what you need...but don’t expect kindness or pleasant customer service experience relating to their products.I was excited to find a place with such a great selection of electrical items but was quickly disappointed with how unkind & impatient the man behind the counter was.He may be knowledgable, but that was undermined by his distasteful lack of interest & snide character when engaging with customers.Most folks can stock a store with items or ring a cash register, and I’m sure they do that well...However, there’s more that goes into running a small local store than that.

Have had mixed experiences here, sometimes helpful, a few times short, almost rude.Went in and waited until clerk was free. Asked for some help with 3 components, needed a 4th. He said he would check a delivery that just came and let me known right away. then watched him start talking to a different customer and going in multiple aisles with that guy while I stood there. then a new customer came in. he waited a few minutes and walked out unacknowledged. I left a minute after.went home, got online, called a store out in Iowa or somewherd, guy walked me though my parts list, ll in stock. AND, they had this type of base connector that cablesconnectors didnt. That was friday july 3rd. Shipped the same day. will be here monday and saved a few bucks and all brand name parts. There are always alternatives to poor service and businesses indifferent to the needs of their customers.

Ive been a customer for years and years, and Cables & Connectors is a trusted resource for everything the electronic hobbyist / PC tech might need. Its true they dont pretend to match bargain basement Internet prices, but youre paying for convenience. Theres been lots of times on a Saturday afternoon that I needed one specific component, and couldnt wait for 2-day shipping. Thats when these guys really shine, because they have such a large inventory on hand. Especially as Radio Shack stores are carrying less and less specialized components, its nice to still have a brick-and-mortar store that has what I need in stock. Keep up the good work guys!

I love this place. They always have that obscure part I need. They may be pricier than the internet but the knowledge base provided by the staff is excellent. I honestly enjoy the East Coast candor of the staff. If you dont know what youre talking about, they arent afraid to tell you.

Fantastic inventory especially if youre looking for hard to find items. But grossly overpriced and absolutely terrible customer service.My wife had to return a product that was defective. The person waiting on her insisted that there was nothing wrong with the product. My wife encouraged him to try the product in the store. He quickly learned that it was in fact defective. He angrily walked away from her and refused to attend to her. She called me and I heard him loudly mocking her over the phone. After significant prompting he credited my card. All this aggravation over a $14.00 product. REALLY???I dont typically write negative ratings. Id like to give all the benefit of the doubt, but in addition to this incident, Ive had problems over time with customer service here as well.Cables & Connectors please tweak your professionalism. While its true that the customer may not always be right, at a minimum we (your customers) deserve to be respected. Please work on this guys.

I was at Cables and Connectors recently looking for a rather obscure part and they had it. Their knowledge is second to none. I cant tell you how many times over the years theyve come through,offering technical suggestions and just good old fashion customer service....A gem on the Berlin Turnpike.

C & C has a lot of stuff you can only get online...unfortunately for anything beyond that, their customer service is abysmal. Just unfriendly staff unfortunately...

I urgently needed a PCI-E Network Adapter and was amazed that a place actually carried them, and on a Saturday! Went in, got it, and got my rig working. Highly recommended for parts that you will most likely not find anywhere else!

While they seem to have almost anything, be aware... Price gouging at its highest level. I needed an HDMI adapter and it was 10.99 on Amazon. The exact same part is $39.99 in their store. If I hadn’t made a promise to my son to set up his XBox, I would be going back to return it! I am willing to pay more to support the local merchant, but 4 times is crazy!!!

Very knowledgeable and friendly. As far as electronics shops go, here we are lucky that we have one that is a small business. I mean try comparing these guys to the teenagers at RadioShack who only know how to sell phones. Im a technology teacher. It is nice to have anything imaginable right down the street. I just bought a 3d printer kit. They have helped out every step along the way. These guys know 3d printing inside and out. They always volunteer their time to answer questions.

Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. I dont buy a lot of miscellaneous electronic parts, but these guys always know what I need if something obscure is required. The prices can be a little above online market values, but I always remind myself that Im paying for the convenience of talking to someone and figuring out what I need. The act of avoiding a constant trial and error experiment is always a blessing.

I work for a High end Audio Video installer and manage the parts in and out. Cables and Connectors constantly saves my a$$ when we need some obscure cable at the last moment. Everyone may not agree on the prices but they usually have what you need in stock in a pinch. Great resource.3 year update, still a great resource. Employees tend to be extremely knowledgable regarding their products. Ive read some other reviews and understand they can be slightly temperamental but i believe this is the cost you pay for intelligent customer service. As a professional I have on multiple occasions learned something new just by walking in and looking for what i thought i needed.Thanks for your continued service!Bruce

Great selection, although staff was rather grouchy and all of the merchandise is WAAAAAAYYYY overpriced. Some of the stuff you will pay triple the normal cost for. Good for hard to find stuff in a hurry but if you have a few days to way for something in the mail, I highly recommend you look elsewhere.

The only place around for a real selection of all the most exotic connectors and electronics. Staff actually knows electronics, they dont just sell it. They even have Arduino parts and a 3D printer!

Great Selection, absolute WORST service!! They are way over priced and I was willing to pay 4x internet prices. But I was kicked out of the store at closing. I got zero help finding my parts and they were hurrying me along. I asked for help with the last two parts In needed, and they said, and I quote No, we have been more then accommodating, but its 6:10 and my dinner is on the table. I will not go back. I will order my parts online shipped to my house for a fraction of the cost.

As a computer nerd, I sometimes find myself in need of an unusual part. A case fan of a particular size or form-factor, a random odd A.V. adapter, perhaps a tool. I can try going to other places that are closer to my home in southington, but somehow, every time, I find myself ending up here, and they ALWAYS have it. These guys have f***ing everything. 4-conductor to two 3 conductor 3.5mm headphone adapter? Right here. Torx Security set? Folding pocket set, or loose, separate, with spinny-handled screwdriver configuration? Little heatsink bits or perhaps a chipset heatsink? Aluminum, copper, and with or without fan, in what size? Edutainment breadboard and little DIY kits, 3D printers, raspberry pi boards, server racks, loose wire and cable by the spool or box... I dont like making the trek out there, but I tend to have fun once Ive ended up there.

The clerk was very rude and dismissive. Didnt seem like he really wanted help after taking about 15 minutes just shooting the breeze with another customer. He just seemed like he wanted to move along after not really explaining the options.

It has all audio n electronic accessories. Since Radio Shack went out of business I been buying on Amazon n Ebay for audio n electronic accessories. So no more paying for shipping n handling. Cables n Connectors has it.

I only visited twice when I was living in W. Hartford, but both times were the best experience I have had EVER in an electronics component store. This is what Radio Shack wished they could be when they still carried a small fraction of the stuff these guys have. Their selection is outstanding.Need a plug? Chances are pretty good they have it. Banana to JST its there.Prices are a little higher than you can find things on Ebay or even Allied/RS or Newark, but you get customer service and you dont have wait (or pay) for shipping.Sadly I moved to Northeast CT recently so going back will have to be a weekend affair. I just saw on their website that they started carrying alot of RC hobby oriented cables and connectors. That just happens to be a new hobby of mine, so I think a trip next weekend is in order.
