I spent a month and a half at Newport, came to this Starbucks every single day. I’ve never seen an establishment that has so many problems, from unexpectedly closing and kicking all patrons out, to not having basic supplies like blue sweetener packets, that you can get at the grocery store, to payment register is not working, to not having half-and-half, which you can also get at the grocery store. Corporate really needs to review the management of this establishment, It is losing the franchisee money from poor management.I have been to other of the worlds tourist hotspots Starbucks, and often find they are set up with dual serving lines, well train staff, an over abundance of staff, and rocking and rolling, making that franchisee money. This one is missing all that.

When you order a standard drink but they are out of something and don’t tell you….but make it and give it to you anyway. It’s like drinking a cup of slightly flavored sugar water. You ask why but no substitute is offered. I’m surprised that they thought serving a drink like this was acceptable. It was a big disappointment.

Very convenient location. Nice atmosphere inside. Large windows are good. Relatively lots of space to sit. Priced as any other Starbucks. Fast service and good quality. Only negative that about 45 min prior to closing they removed all bakery from display. There was enough of prepackaged food on display. Nothing local is sold there. They should try better to connect better with community.Clean bathroom. Due to location there was always a line.We liked upper level a lot. There is good sized parking lot behind building. $3 per hour. Seems pricy but is right for the area.

Went to this outlet when I was around town. The store is massive with a separate floor dedicated for people to read/work. The baristas were excellent at their job and were very polite.

Best caramel macchiato I’ve had in my entire life.

The service here was actually really great considering how many tourists were here. Its located in a very busy part of Newport, so I expected the service to be sub par. I was pleasantly surprised that my order came out fairly quickly. I would definitely recommend stopping by here to grab a coffee or a quick snack.

As a fellow Starbucks barista I was happy to be received by such friendly staff. I had stopped in to buy a RI state Starbucks mug and the girl that helped me out was so nice!

The place was nice but the coffee was ...meh....I asked if I could have aVerandah (there was nobody behind me in line) and 2 young baristas said the brew they had made is a Pikes Place. So I said does that mean I cant have a Verandah and one said that Pikes was almost the same, seeming reluctant to give me what I liked. Then a slightly older woman( I assume the manager) stepped up and said some words inferring an individual serving could be made of Verandah,so I then said Ill have that. I received it and it was not very good (I wondered if old grounds were used because I put them out). I drank about a quarter of it and threw the rest away. NOT a good experience! I had always liked that brew and had it as a K-cup as well but now Im turned off. I wasted my time and money. ☹️

Lukewarm coffee. How could a coffee shop serve coffee lukewarm? Need I say more?

The sweetest baristas. They are always so helpful when I want to try something new i actually drive across island because they are so patient even though its busy.

Wish there was better accessibility for wheelchairs. There is only one small door available to enter even though there are double doors. There are two sets of doors, but only one set of doors has a ramp. There is always a sign blocking the second door on the ground. Even if you have someone move the sign for you they LOCK the second door. When we have asked someone behind the counter to unlock the door - they have said we dont know how, or it gets stuck? Not a great answer.....

Although the coffee is always good, its a bit frustrating to only order through the app, but MORE SO an elderly gentleman went to the door asking to go in + order. reHe Hiswas told to order through the app only. His reply was I dont know how to do that/use a smart phone.. He was told in no uncertain terms he MUST order through the app or no service. I was not quick enough to catch him and order + pay for the gentleman. There should be an exception for the elderly that need it, as most would agree

Im so impressed with how much this particular Starbucks cares about its community. Most recently, theyve been offering free coffee to anyone in the coast guard during the government shutdown. The interior layout is also very welcoming and the drinks are always good.

Beautiful store in an historic building with most of 2 sides glass, just across the street from the Newport harbor. Friendly fast service that one expects from Starbucks. Upstairs balcony tables for a higher view, downstairs comfy chairs and tables line the windows. No drive-through, and depending on the time of year and weather it can be a difficult area to find parking in. But you are in the middle of one of the shopping/restaurant areas of Newport - so once you are parked there are lots of things to see and do nearby as you sip your Starbucks!

Excellent place to spare time alone or in a group. It is having a good view to outside. There is a church with a green field beside it. People can sit over there after having coffee. The cakes are very fresh. In a single word you can enjoy your time there either inside of the cafe or outside. I just like the place. I hope every one would enjoy the ambiance. Thank you.

Good coffee but too pricey. You are paying for the name because there are other places that offer a good selection and much better prices. I go there once in a while as a treat to myself.

This is a nice Starbucks location and probably the only drinkable cup of Joe in Newport (God knows I tried because I hate commercial coffee). It was clean and the staff was nice. Like any Starbucks (this being the only I know of in Newport) it gets a bit crowded, so prepare to hangout on a line for a few minutes. Management is really good and he took the bull by the horns when a problem came up. Overall good experience!

The girl closed the doors at 9pm. Clearly the hours state that this place is open until 9:30 p.m. She completely avoided making eye contact with us as we pushed on the door. Knocked politely on the window figuring maybe it was because she was alone and she didnt want to have anyone just walk in. With the amount of money I spend monthly on Starbucks this is a horrible experience!!!!

Great Starbucks location, friendly staff, clean facilities, and a really cool floor plan. Im a huge fan of the second level seating area. Ive never had a problem here, I absolutely recommend them if youre in the area.

Not Sure Whats the deal here but the Employees have difficulties using the standard computer casher they use. The music is so loud they can hear your order and if you order any warm food, forget it it will take 20 min. Worst starbucks i ever visited.

Nice workers but they need to get their stuff together. As I was there they forgot 3 orders including mine. They didnt seem to have a working symbiosis. The place was indeed clean (thats always a good thing). Needs improvement but I like the staff.

Ive gone to many Starbucks over the years, but Ive never been into one so dirty before. The layout was confusing and the 2 workers werent much help.I would have forgiven the grime if my coffee had been up to par. Alas, it was not. First, there was 1 person ahead of me and 2 workers behind the counter yet I still waited 15 minutes to be served.I would have forgiven the wait if my coffee had been up to par. Alas once again, it was not. My latte, which Ive ordered many times at other Starbucks, tasted as if it was made with burnt coffee; every coffee drinker knows what I mean by that. It was just not good.For the first time in my life, I committed the sin of tossing away my coffee.For the rest of my visit, I got my morning coffee at Paneras; it was great and the place itself was clean.

If you are in Newport, I recommend this Starbucks rather than the one in the shopping center. They are much faster at making your order and have much better customer service.

What a great location. Awesome looking interior with a balcony spot up top to relax. I see 7 employees and only 1 taking orders and the line is out the door and they don’t have a drivethru lol. Feel it could be more efficient.

Arrived at 06:30. Spacious. Staff pleasant. Updated since here last. Less comfortable sitting, more hard benches but other than that nice. Image during busy times one might wait but 6:30am was pretty perfect.

Faster than my local one with half the amount of staff.... much appreciated

I was at this Starbucks at around 5:00 today, 9/18. The lady who took my order was very nice but the person who made my drink was super rude to me. I simply asked if it was coconut milk in my pink drink because I wanted to make sure it was not almond milk because I am allergic. She said well it is a pink drink so yeah VERY rudely. Then I looked at it because it looked like the milk was bad. It was not mixing with the strawberry liquid at all and looked a little chunky, she saw me looking and said very rudely again do you really need me to shake that for you. Long brown hair girl dont be rude to people it gets you no where :)

Im a Starbucks girl so it should be always a great experience...not in this case. Very loud place even with staff yelling and long lines awaiting. Id recommend a new training for the staff to begin with.

Stopped for coffee leaving Newport to New York

My visit to sturbucs was average at best. After getting my cup o Joe I got in a knife fight with some bum in the bathroom. Sadly I lost because he was equipped with a well shaped rusty spoon. I had to hand over my cup of Joe to the bum. All I can SAY IS BETO FOR PRESIDENT. We need change in this country.

PROS: fun atmosphere and unique building inside. Fast service. Friendly staff who are definitely trained well as all drinks come out perfectly done every time! CONS: horrible parking so plan on walking a distance, paying for a spot in a near by lot or get dropped off.

This used to be a great, independent coffee shop.Now its a Starbucks, so you know what youre getting. Over roasted and over priced coffee, but at least you know what youre getting.

Decent starbucks with nice interior. Staff wouldnt take a $50 which was inconvenient as I had to use my credit card and pay extra for fees.

Service was rather slow considering there were 4/5 people working the floor while I was there. Drinks were all made accurately and staff was friendly though.

This Starbucks is nestled in a very quaint location in Newport and boasts a loft sitting area. The entire store front was windows so we could see even beyond the street towards the harbor.

Service was a little slow, but overall a pleasant experience. Comfortable atmoshpehere made the wait seem minor.
