Dont do it, messed up my hairline and pushed my hair back in place. Went to look at it later and saw that about 1 inch of my hairline on the left side was pushed back giving it a bald patch look. Go to a civilian barber or just do it yourself not worth it.

Today my barber removed my sideburns despite me explicitly mentioning I wanted to keep them.

The Exchange is great. Wide variety of items, and good customer service.The Barbershop on the other hand...A majority of the ladies in there cant cut hair. Plain and simple. They behave as if theyve received no professional training; Very laid back demeanor, which would be fine if the cuts were halfway decent. Maybe one or two actually know how to cut Afro-American hair, the rest just do the bare minimum and charge you for lackluster service.The only thing consistent about the barbershop is consistent disappointment.

Babara at the Barber Shop. She does not pay attention and gives a terrible haircut. She cut my hair three years ago when I was at the base for training. Left a complaint then. I thought she looked familiar. Turns out some lady. She finished my haircut in two minutes. Worst I have ever seen/had.

Merchandise neat, orderly and priced below retail outside the gate, people friendly and helpful.Great shopping experience every time!

Theyve been under renovation for a while and theyre finally starting to look really nice lots of new spaces and new places in this facility its really nice.

Always happy with my visit to The Exchange and is a great privilege for all that have served. The only question I have is when it comes to advertising the branches Air Force Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Navy there has been little or No recognition via clothing with a logo nor window stickers to advertise Service Active, Reserve or Retired for Army personnel nor amy other items for Army personal existing in the Navy Exchange - I just do not wish to travel to West Point to get things along these lines. I have asked in the past about such items as to Active & Retired Army Military members at this Exchange but have not seen anything on the shelves.

Wish we had more time to truly enjoy this store. Reminds me a store in my hometown that recently closed its doors. Herbergers.

Good quality products are sold here tax free for military personnel. Ground floor houses clothes, fashion accessories and general goods. First floor houses electronic and electrical devices like TV sets, phones, phone accessories, games, and stuff. Access is restricted to people allowed into the base and purchases is based on show of ID card. The staff are courteous, friendly and helpful.

Not a bad exchange... pretty much everything you need is here. You have to go the second floor for household items and I do not believe they sell any furniture there.

Always a nice place to shop to pick up convenience items, and even speciality items like shoes and electronics. They are still remodeling it all. Already looks nicer!

So much better than going to The MCX and thats coming from a Marines perspective.

The staff are friendly, and the prices are great. You can purchase alcohol, groceries, and any other amenities you might need. The have a great clothing selection as well. Just make sure you bring your military ID with you.

Great selection for a small store. I havent been to an exchange in a few years. I will be back. I saw some cute things for Christmas for my family.

One of the better Exchanges I have been to. Wish it got more attention and visits by patrons. Almost never busy which is great in most ways. Prices cant be beat. Staff is very friendly and they always have enough check-out lines so the wait is short on the few times it is busy. I go whenever I can.

Hidden gem! By far the best exchange in the any of the military bases. Has all the name brand clothing.

It has good priced, very good quality items but of limited quantity. Very good for essentials, very good for electronics. Better deals can be found on clothes. Sales people are nice but hard to find.

Theyve renovated the store so much since 2017, it looks completely different. Honestly Id say its comparable to the huge NEX in Groton, CT (Just a bit smaller). The range of products has definitely increased, and the interior is significantly upgraded. I never thought it looked bad before, but now it looks amazing.

Dont expect to find anything you need here, limited clothing, electronics, virtually no childrens stuff. I understand Newport is basically a short stop destination but many families still pass through this area. Always disappointed every time I go.

Clean, limited selection and where did all the deals go? It seems the NEX/BX have a few hooks to get you in there, then only rely on the tax free status as your discount/savings. Long gone are those all inclusive shopping trips that under cut Wal-Mart by 15-30%.

Plenty of parking. Reasonable product selections. The purchases that I made were priced similar to Amazon.

I visit as often as I can. Construction underway presently. Hopefully an expansion, a little cramped. Great staff good atmosphere and clean store.

New renovations are coming along nicely. Making the exchange feel larger and brighter.

This Navy exchange is outstanding when it comes to customer service and good deals especially the crew in electronics they are so helpful and nice upstairs its the way it should be at every store but this Navy exchange the customer service here is great all-around

Not really a NEX that is not reliable nor has customer service. Basically they are rude and get angry when you ask questions.

Prices were kind of high, they need to be more competitive with town shops

Told the barber to give me a low fade, then the barber gave me a high and tight. My junior marine asked for a medium fade and another barber gave him a recruit style high and tight. Learn how to fade haircuts. Not everyone want a damn high and tight just because all these NEX barbers are trash and dont know how to fade haircuts. Is I could give negative stars I would.

Stopped by the NEX barber shop for a haircut, then the main exchange to look around. Bought a nice hoodie at a good price. They have moved things around to complete renovations, but it is still navigational.

Its getting better after a big redo.

This place has a little bit of everything. Has a subway as well, along with a coffee shop. Has a barber inside. They are expanding so there will be some construction going on.

Its a decently clean exchange with a nice stick of just about everything you could need in it.

Excellent choices for groceries. Vegetable section is poor with quality of fresh veggies.

This is one of the best places for any military person to go to it is whole lot to offer and its a very good place

Typical Exchange. Has what you would expect. Government owned and operated therefore little incentive for customer service. There a large Marine Corps presence on base but very little to no Marine Corps items to purchase.

All exchanges are great. This one has an out door tent with 70% sales.

Very large clean store with many great displays and helpful employees.

One of the smaller exchanges, so they dont have as wide a variety as other bases, but beautiful merchandise, all high end. They eliminated their childrens department, which is sad, and have recently been doing construction to improve.

The Newport NEX services all of the Newport area and bases, but it is on the smaller side. Youll probably find most of what youre looking for, but just be prepared for them to be out of your size or only a few choices available.

This location, as far as NEXs go, is average. Its not big, nor small, but you can find majority of the essential needs without issue. Dont forget to check out the second floor for their home goods section.
