Pro tip. ONLINE ORDERSIf you order online. Know this... Your order is usually on the sales floor and NOT picked by the stores online-sales staff as soon as you hit the enter button confirming your purchase.Call ahead and get someone in online department to confirm your item is still available and ask them kindly if they can pull it off the sales floor right away and tell them you are on your way to pick it up. Use exact item numbers not a general descriptions, as some products are very similar but have a few different features, (ie patio umbrella, forest green with Led lights built in vs no Led lights (my mistake) boxes looked identical at quick glance)Understanding, that a random customer roaming the floor may grab the item off the shelf before you get there is a possibility. (Its a tough position to put a big box stores in; selling products online that are currently on the sales floor is risky. but its easy to understand that home depot cannot simply place all of their online inventory on shelves in the back warehouse - waiting to be procured.. carrying all that hope someone orders inventory is not a feasible business model.. this would simply put the company out of business. Be proactive and communicate with the location (this is important) that has your item. Do not expect a call center associate to understand the local stores inventory patterns. This will cause you to get frustrated.
Is it really that hard for management to enforce face coverings for employees and customers? I saw 4 employees without a mask and even more just covering their mouth. And countless customers walking around like nothing is wrong.So much for the lets be safe message over the intercom and a disregard to customer safety and health during a pandemic.
Went to Home Depot for new light fixtures for our living room and Angelo the customer service rep was very helpful in assisting us with what we were looking for as well as Bob who assisted us in the lawn and garden department. Both of these individuals were very helpful and professional and should be commented on their customer service!
Not a place for pros to shop anymore. Home Depot is not 100% for the diy order online sales model.

Dont you just enjoy going to home Depot ....I want to redo my floor my walls my counters when l step into the store, the merchandise just puts you in this remodeling mood and it seems so simple no joke!! Until you start working and you realize the mess you got yourself into.. but no worry you can always rely on Home Depot to send their men and help out.. or rather clean up your mess:):)

Like any other Home depot store this has a good selection of tools or items you need for your home project. Starting spring they do open the lawn and garden section which has a very good selection of plants and vegeatbles. There is a huge selection outside and inside for plants. Customer service is very good as well
Its Home Depot. If they have what you want. Buy it. If they dont. Order it and buy it before you get it. . If your order is ready for pickup. Maybe its ready, maybe you have to go to another store. Pandemic really screwed the supply chain. So be patient and just wait for what you want. Who can ask for anything more.No more instant gratification.

Went to pickup ceiling fan and garden items...Niles Illinois location ... terribly run store...items not in stock misplaced items not priced as listed on sales bins...stock depleted... just not best experience as Ive been in other home depots and organization was like it should be

Yesterday, I was trying to find paint. Richard from department 25 helped me so much. He told me everything I needed to know and I am so thankful. I was able to save money and time. I learned that everything I needed was at Home Depot.
Really disappointed in the tool rental department. Management needs to have a conversation with them. I called in today around 1 p.m. 7/1/20 and was put on hold for a couple minutes and then hung up on, then called back and was put on hold for 20 minutes, finally I hung up and called in as a last effort and someone answered in the rental department. I asked about needing a rental of 2 - 6 foot rolling scaffolding units for approx. 3 days or so. I was told they were in stock, first come first serve. I was told it would be about $150 per unit for the week. I told him we would have a tech on their way to come rent and pick it up soon. They would have made $300 on our rental should it have worked out. However, upon arrival (2 hours later or less) our tech was told oh its over there and they pointed to basically a stack of disassembled metal bars and parts etc. with no direction. Our tech basically asked what parts, how many etc. and asked for assembly instructions. The rental dept. said they had no idea and again pointed at the stack of materials with no direction. This is unacceptable and horrible customer service! If they didnt know, they need to call someone. How are we supposed to know without direction? What a waste of time and energy. Called a different supplier about a rental and they answered right away, were super helpful and had everything ready for us. Home Depot Rental Department - you really dropped the ball and management needs to hold you accountable.

I found that the garden center was very well stocked even though it was early April. Very welcoming.
I went there to buy sump pump pipe from there old one was stocked, pluming department people said I should buy new sump pump cause of the old pipe doesn’t come from union, so I went to tool rental department to ask them if they can remove, Stephen Wilson was there and he took off for me. He saved my time and money. Thank you Stephen you are the best

This store has a much larger rental department than other home depots and seems like more employees who are also friendlier.The location can get some snobbish customers but the staff here are very friendly and the selection is larger and easier to view. Other places feel more cramped and feel like have less employees, although Ive encountered really good employees at other locations as well.Lana, in particular was very helpful and really helped me find what I was looking for and was very patient and kind while still being professional.
KJ is awesome. Always great customer service everytime we came. Which was about 5 times a week. Big project. Great employee. Some days it seems hard to find help on the floor when looking for an item but over all we love Home Depot.

Best customer service ever! I order saw horses which showed online that there are in stock but unfortunately they did not and I got upgraded to pair of more expensive ones. I got my money back for the original horse and got huge discount on the upgraded ones.

If your getting a light bulb, check the package first. Someone is putting old burnt bulbs in. Staff is very knowledgeable, but it can be difficult to get there attention.

Saw three people with masks below their nose, one of which was talking to one of the employees who said nothing about proper mask wearing. When I went to check out the man next to me was wearing his mask like a chin strap. Definitely not following covid precautions at this store.

It’s a Home Depot you probably know what that’s like, it’s like that.
This is my Go To place for almost every engineering related thing. I had to have a duplicate key and got it from there in less than 5 minutes. The voltage tester i boughy from there was very advanced and detected exact reading by just a touch. A fan my sister got from there once was so easy to install only because of the instructions laid out with it which saved us hundreds of dollars and it took me just few hours to have it running. Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable and takes you where u need to go.
Employees dont even want to help they see you struggling and they will walk next to you without offering help.
Its home depot, not much to say. If you dont like crowds and careless rude people you definitely want to avoid this store.

Most horrid and time wasting store filled with nothing but incompetent workers with even more incompetent managers. I waited over 20mins at a register for the manager and they never showed up, this fat girl told me it was not her fault they misplaced the tags and they would not honor the mistake they made.

Pro service is not really pro! Always I need to buy something from this store I wait 20-30 min on pro desk! And that is the desk that should be the fastest service.And the cashier was just talking with the other customer and giving them from hers cake until I wait right behind them.
1 working cashier and 3 employees standing around the registers even as the self checkout lanes were backed up. Not impressed with this HD.

I wanted to purchase four flats of impatiens. The signs were confusing - no price for the full flat. I went to the register and the clerk was also confused as to the cost. She pulled out one pack and scanned it but wasn’t certain as to the price of the entire flat so she walked over to a woman standing a few feet away. The clerk was explaining the situation and the woman began to mock her hand movements by imitating them, and laughing. This woman then came over and rudely said to me “Are you going to keep them out of the sun?” She then pulled a pack out and said it is the amount of this pack times the number of packs in each flat. I asked how much that would be and she laughed sarcastically and said “Allot!” and walked away. I said I have been purchasing these for forty-eight years and they always were priced per flat. She retorted that this is this year, not years past.I walked out and won’t return. This woman should not be working in customer service.

All the self check out is ridiculous at a hardware store. Parking lot is janky getting in and out and always too many people there and none of the employees want to help you whilingly. They just stare at you the whole lot of them
