Norristown Used Appliances has my business for life! Patrick is very responsive and obviously loves his job! I love my brand new oven and got it at a cost I never could have imagined. It was delivered to my door by courteous staff who even cleared away my old oven. I will be purchasing all appliances from Newtown Used Appluances from now on! Thank you Patrick!

Buyer avoid at all costs. While it pains me as a minority business owner to post this, I would not want my worst enemy to experience the horrible business practices of this retailer. I purchased 5 appliances and a range hood from the owner for an investment property. Delivery was promised 9 days after the purchase for a Monday morning. I worked with the owner, who at the time seemed very reliable and trustworthy. We pushed out the delivery to accommodate a morning delivery. The morning of the delivery I took off to wait for the appliances. After the morning window passed, I called the appliance store only to hear the owner indicated that the appointment was changed. He indicated that a message was left for me and that someone from his office spoke with me. While there was no missed calls or messages on my phone, he insisted that a change was made. He could not tell me what the date was changed to. The owner, Patrick then told me that he would move things around and deliver later that day by 4pm. He never got back to me, and needless to say did not deliver. The next day he indicated that the appliances would be delivered by 4pm. The delivery person arrived at 7pm and did not have the right dishwasher nor the range hood. The delivery person worked diligently despite the lack of diligence of Patrick. He is the only reason that I can give one star. The next day, Patrick indicates after several calls to his office, that he will deliver by 7pm. We are now 3 days past the agreed upon delivery date. I get to the property at 6:30pm. By 10pm, I’ve left several messages and text with no word from Patrick. At this point, I’ve paid for 5 appliances and a range hood, with no communication or hopes of having this order completed. If this owner would be honest and ethical, I would give the benefit of the doubt. He is not either. Avoid doing business with Norristown Used Appliances. It is not worth the hassle. There are many other used and scratch and dent places that operate with ethics and basic decency. This is not one.

Went in looking for a washer and dryer and came out with the best deal I could ever imagine. Mr. Whaley was so informative and persuading. Definitely recommend you support his business!

Purchased a new refrigerator and had an excellent experience. Patrick, Jim and Michelle provided excellent customer service. We purchased the refrigerator on Saturday and it was delivered as promised on Wednesday. Patrick was on hand for delivery. The three men took the time to take off the doors at my home to ensure the refrigerator and hone was not damaged as it was a tight fit .I will definitely be back if in need of other appliances. I would be sure to recommend. Quality for a great price.

We went to Norristown appliances yesterday afternoon to purchase a dryer. We are a family of 5 and needed to get the dryer ASAP!The gentleman (not sure his name) was very helpful, showed me what dryers were in my budget and answered the questions I had. He also arranged for us to get delivery the next day!!! I’m super happy with the purchase, as the dryer had more features than I thought we could afford and the total cost came in $50 under budget!!!Definitely going back to purchase more appliances in the future!!

After an exhausting search at 2 Lowe’s, 2 Home Depot’s and 2 Best Buy’s my wife and I decided to try this place. Boy are we glad! We were greeted with smiles and answers to all our questions and a ton of options, from 50% or more off retail for some lightly used and even discounted new, it was an appliance heaven! Delivery was a cinch and the gentleman were courteous! Please go here before you buy an overpriced big box store item! The big box stores outsource their delivery company and as a result I’ve had very bad experiences with them, but this store handles everything including removal of your old appliance. The owner Patrick even called me after delivery as a courtesy to make sure everything was okay with our fridge! I thought this type of service was gone forever but not here!

Our washer died recently, so we checked out Norristown Used Appliances to look for a good deal. Everyone was friendly and professional. We found a unit in great shape and quickly got signed up for delivery and installation, all of which was super reasonable in price. When they arrived to install our new unit, the owner determined that our existing washer could be fixed and was able to do so the next day. He then refunded us most of what we had paid for the new washer, saving us a lot of money! I would recommend this store to anyone looking to get a great deal on an appliance and even better service!

Well meaning owner, but we were quite disappointed with the customer service. Service was unreliable. We were told multiple times delivery would happen on x day/time only to be postponed again, and again. We no longer could trust what we were told. There was an issue with all of the appliances we received.The oven we received does not work. The stove does, but not the oven. The first oven received did not work. It would not reach desired temperatures. That was replaced by the store one month later after waiting and waiting for the replacement. The replacement oven also does not work. Yet we never had problems with our old oven and stove, we just wanted an updated oven. We now have to go buy a brand new oven for our tenant, after purchasing here. Very disappointing after the money spent and time invested.The refrigerators we received did not function properly. This was replaced in a more timely manner. The first two delivered did not work right... the third one did. The washer and dryer we received was a deal, though one function on the dryer does not work. I really wish I could highly recommend. I wanted to. After receiving products we question were ever tested, and not being able to believe what we are told on when someone will come and replace, will have to leave one star.

The atmosphere was very welcoming as soon as I walked in, they were very helpful with my purchase. The prices were very reasonable delivery was on time and professional the owner did a follow up call to make sure I was happy with my purchase. 10/10 highly recommend.

The staff was very helpful when our washing machine broke. We bought a replacement and were quickly scheduled for installation. When the owner arrived to deliver and install the washing machine he determined that our existing washer could be repaired. His team repaired it and saved us a lot of money. The owner and his team went out of their way to ensure we got a good deal and were treated fairly.

Mr Patrick was very helpful with my search for parts. The place was nice and clean in addition to his knowledge of the appliances he had in stock.

The staff is friendly but the owner is a crazy person who is unprofessional, calls me by the wrong name doesn’t listen and just talks over us. He wasted our family’s time, and I wish we had never contacted them. We agreed on a used refrigerator at a certain price and he sold it out from under us because someone came in and offer them 50 bucks more. Then we agreed on another refrigerator and a delivery date and they never showed. When we were finally able to get a hold of the owner, he lied and said we were not answering our phone when actually he just forgot he scheduled the delivery. I canceled our order and I recommend not using Norristown used appliances and just going somewhere else straight away because your time is valuable too. Poorly run business.

Like the other customers who gave this company one star, I received the same service from Patrick. Initially he was very responsive seemed like a nice guy until he started dodging my phone calls and not returning voice mail messages. I purchased a washer machine from this company. I found out after one day of use that the spin cycle didn’t properly work and the clothes were still wet. I contacted Patrick and he said that he would replace. He would schedule a date and when that day came I never heard from him. Well that continued for weeks until I just never heard from him again. I called numerous time and he never answered.He actually knows my number and will avoid my calls and messages. I called from a different number and he called right back. It’s very sad that he plays like a nice business man but he sells products that doesn’t work properly, know it and then sells it to customers then make promises to correct the issue then disappears. I really tried to give Patrick a chance to remedy the problem and was very patient. I had to write this review to inform others what type of person is running this business. Please do not patronize this business!!!!!

Never felt so belittled in my life. Patrick robbed me of my time. 10 days after my paid purchase, my tenants and I waited around on 3 different days for delivery only to end the nights with no call and no show every time. An entire Saturday wasted because I was assured they were coming. I understand deliveries are backed up now, but the professional courtesy of an update goes a long way. If you can’t make it, just say so. In an age with cell phones, texting, and social media I don’t see how it’s even possible to not communicate with your customers. The store sent a refund (that I didn’t ask for) without even telling me. Nobody has ever called to explain. Now I’m two weeks further behind in my purchase of appliances. Just unprofessional.

The BEST customer service you will find! Extremely great communicator. Phone calls are rarely missed, and always returned. Responsive by text as well. Above and beyond delivery service tool. I one time ordered a Fridge that was too big to fit through the door....so the team TOOK THE DOOR DOWN, got the fridge in, and put the door frame back together. I’ll start by saying they have a great selection. If you are picking an appliance up yourself.... maybe a better experience. I ordered a refrigerator to be delivered the time came and went no show no call. No nothing. I called several times and finally it was delivered without the shelving that was promised by the owner. I of course called again and he said it would be there this evening. Left the porch light on all evening. No shelf. No call nothing. It eventually showed up on my porch 2 days later. No call. Just showed up. The owner was nice enough at the time of purchase to extend my warranty from 30 to 60 days. During that time I started hearing a popping/clicking noise. I spoke to the owner who said he knows what the problem is right away on the phone. They showed up (again not in the time window they said they would be there) and he looks at me and says there’s nothing wrong and YOU made me drive all the way out here. Well excuse me MR. Owner if you had asked more questions about what I was questioning maybe you could have figured it was normal for this model. So point being customer service skills here are lacking. I had honestly planned to do future business and buy a washer and dryer down the line. But, if you can’t stick to commitments, communicate if you are late or be respectful to a customer. I’m taking my business elsewhere.

Dryer died on Sunday. Started googling and remembered about this place around corner from our house. Stopped in and purchased a dryer in 5 minutes! Great selection and owner Patrick great to work with! Dryer just delivered. Patrick and assistant quickly delivered to our basement, steep stairs, set up and removed old broken one. Picked it up Saturday January 2 2021. Upon arrival was greeted by the owner Patrick very friendly and helped us as soon as we walked in. Looked around some more and another associate Jermaine helped us pick out a stove. Also very friendly and knowledgeable also helped us load the appliances. The staff was inviting upon entry. Wide selection of used appliances. We drove over 2hrs 1way based off Google reviews. I had several different appliances I was interested in based off online photos & details. The photos were a bit deceiving. Several had cracked glass tops, food debris baked into worn seals, excessive use, etc. For the asking prices here, you are better off adding a little to it & purchasing new. Best Buy offers various selections of in store open boxed appliances, Lowes just started a scratch & dent outlet, Ollies has marked down appliances, & many retailers are to follow. I ended up buying new with 1yr warranty for just $60 then what I was looking at used.

I came across Norristown Used Appliances, via Google and read the reviews. I was pleased to read everyone’s experience. I had a great experience, myself and the washer runs good . My delivery was amazing and they took the door off to the basement and replaced it. They were friendly and they called me to tell me when they were coming. I didn’t have to keep ringing their phone. I felt a tip helps in doing good business, so I gave one, and I was right. It was great doing business with them. The hose problem is no more and I got the washer running thank you, again I RECOMMEND NORRISTOWN USED APPLIANCES to everyone .

I purchased a washer over the phone on 7/13 with delivery for 7/20. No show or call on delivery day. When I finally reached Patrick, he lied and stated that he had called me and left a message (not), and scheduled new delivery date for the morning of 7/23. Again no call and no show, and when I finally reached Patrick by phone after several attempts, was told he just found out his drivers had been in an accident (4 hours after the fact??) and would have to reschedule. He also stated that he would refund my purchase and deliver the washer for free to make up for the hassle. Needless to say, nothing has been refunded, he has been dodging my calls about rescheduling the delivery, and I have put in a dispute with my credit card company. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS.

Went a picked out a dryer for my grandmother. She picked one out and we set delivery for that Saturday. Saturday came and went and they were a no call no show. Called them and got no answer. Eventually got ahold of Patrick and made some excuse. Eventually they brought a dyer...not the one we picked out he said it was better...within a week we noticed it wasn’t drying clothes the first cycle of 70 minutes, no matter how small the load was. Called Patrick and told him of our issues well within the “warranty” period he promised us, he told me he’d call me right back and never heard back from him. Within a week and a half the dryer stopped working completely. Still no word from them. Had to order a whole new dryer from Lowe’s after we just plaid them 200$ for a dryer that worked for maybe two months(never working properly though) maybe this is an isolated incident but either way we are never going back there.

I almost never post negative reviews so I thoroughly read the rest of the posts about this store before making this review, just in case my experience was a one off. Clearly it was not though because there is a defined theme in people’s negative experiences with Patrick, the owner, and his ability to follow through with his delivery and customer service.Literally I tried to buy a fridge and have it delivered and he did not show up at all, with no call or notification. To start, I found his post on Facebook Marketplace and made plans to pick up the fridge but then asked if he could deliver. After we exchanged numbers he called and said he could deliver the next day between 1:00-5:00. Then the next day he confirmed that he’d be there between 3:00-5:00. 4:00 rolled around and I hadn’t heard anything so I called his receptionist and she said they were running behind he would call me when he was 30 min away. I made 3 calls to her as it got later and later and got the same message. The delivery window came and went with no call. I called the next morning and was told Patrick would call me later.Finally, he calls at 3:00PM saying that the fridge had a ding in the door and he wanted to fix it first before delivering and would absolutely be calling me tonight and delivering the fridge tomorrow morning at the latest. Sounded like BS but I thought I’d give it another chance. You guessed it, he never called and never showed. I gave up then and after waiting 2 days, am buying my fridge elsewhere.Worst experience with a business! It’s incredibly frustrating to take time out of your day to be available and then be gaslit about your expectations, especially when buying such an essential appliance, such as a fridge. Take this as a warning and do not go here!!

Today he told me I had an electrical issue and that was the reason the stove was not working properly. This is not accurate because 1) our previous stove worked for 3+ years without any issues, and 2) the stove top works just fine for the stoves he delivered to my house. It was the oven that did not get as hot as needed. Remember he sounds very well meaning but this is not reflected in his actions.The refrigerators we received did not function properly. This was replaced in a more timely manner. The first two delivered did not work right... the third one did. The washer and dryer we received was a deal, though one function on the dryer does not work. I really wish I could highly recommend. I wanted to. After receiving products we question were ever tested, and not being able to believe what we are told on when someone will come and replace, will have to leave one star. Again this pains me to leave a review like this because I am a big supporter of small businesses in general and especially minority owned small businesses. Beware when dealing with this organization.

Update to below: Norristown Used Appliances called my boyfriend Thursday. They did NOT call me personally on three occasions....technology, hello? I did not receive any calls from any number I did not know or couldnt identify in that period and have the call logs to prove it. They also did not speak to my boyfriend on the day before I posted the original review, nor did they leave either of us several voicemails. Again, technology easily proves this. The two honest statements they made in their rebuttal to my original review were that the refrigerator would not fit in my boyfriends SUV, and they did offer a $50 refund for the mix up. However, $50 off NO PRODUCT DELIVERED stills equals money lost. They agreed to deliver the refrigerator yesterday (Friday) between 5-6PM. They did not show up, nor did they call. They did not answer the phone when we called today. We went to Appliance and Mattress Outlet in New Castle, DE today with a larger SUV and left with a refrigerator and great service!Original review: My boyfriend purchased a refrigerator there last Tuesday, March 2. He wanted to take it with him, but since they’d just gotten it in, they insisted on cleaning it up & scheduled delivery for Monday 3/8. They called & cancelled that delivery Monday morning, rescheduled it to yesterday between 4-6. They did not show, nor did they call. They did not return my boyfriend’s voicemails today. We’re thankful he paid with a credit card so at least we have recourse. Steer clear of this place
