Ron and the guys here were so awesome and informative. I am not from here so as a woman, I am always hesitant to go to mechanic type shops but I definitely felt great coming here. Ron is phenomenal. I’ve had my brakes done I’ve had my oil changed my wife has had her car looked at multiple times, the prices are all solid and the service is always quick and easy. As someone who is all types of cars but who doesn’t always have the time to work on my own cars- free service is definitely a place I would recommend. 8/20/21 Update: it’s been months since my review and Ron is still saving my behind with my car when I get in a bind- need a mechanic? Showed up with a spare tire on and split tire from the trails at Windrock needing new tires to get back to PA. Ron, the store manager, made time to get two new tires at a good price on my Jeep and get us back on the road, even though they were very busy. He went above and beyond by making sure the gouge in my rim was sealed and also checked all my fluids, topping them off, since I told him we had a long trip the next day. Definitely worried about their customers safety more than trying to get more money out of them. Excellent place!

These guys are always great. My wifes car had another coolant leak. Got the car in at 8am and even though they were pretty booked up already, these guys got us in and said theyd add us to the queue for the day. As promised, they got us diagnosed and a price quote just after lunch time. Naturally, the part that needed replaced was one that was an obscure cover on the engine. They said they were gonna try to get the part in but, wanted to make sure we knew there was a chance the part not get there today. Not only did they get the part today but, they made sure to get it installed, everything thoroughly tested and the car ready for us to pickup before they closed. They said they didnt want us to be without the car any longer than neccessary and these guys went and got us took care of in a VERY respectable amount of time AND at a good price. These guys always do us right and do fantastic work.

Came here for a diagnostic test and they went above and beyond to help me. I highly recommend. Ron was so great and so kind, he explained and helped me understand things that I know other places would have neglected to tell me. Five stars easy.

Went in with a tire warning light. Ron Babka checked & found a screw at such an angle as to make the tire unable to be repaired. He found a comparable tire in stock & replaced it. Also re-did the sensors to show the correct tires. All of this on a busy Saturday afternoon when they were already fully booked with appointments! Ron was super helpful & pleasant! I would highly recommend this shop just because of him!

I couldnt be happier with the service I got at Free Service Tire. A few days ago, I went there to have new brake pads installed, given that a month earlier I had been told by another shop that my brake pads were down to roughly 10-15% of the material left. Well, after getting my car in the shop at Free Service Tire, Ron & Robbie let me know that I didnt need new brake pads -- they showed me that the pads were practically not worn down at all & I wouldnt need new ones for a long time - the shop I had gone to earlier was just flat-out wrong or perhaps deceitful! Not only that, it turns out that the other shop had failed to rotate my tires when they were supposed to have. So, all together, Ron & Robbie saved me a good bit of cash, when they didnt have to, they pointed out the sloppy business practices of the other shop I had been to, & they rotated my tires free of charge. All in all, it was a great experience & I am super thankful to them as well as the shop. Ill definitely be coming here from now on for brake or tire services!

I stopped in with two leaking valve stems on a jeep we had all over Windrock off road park. I couldn’t get two tires to re-inflate and now the valve stems were slowing leaking. Ron replaced them, tighten the rest and aired up everything. He had me back on the road in minutes. Excellent service !!!!!

Took my car in to finish installing a part that I couldnt do myself because I didnt have a lift. The shop manager, Ron looked at it and completed the installation and explained the whole process. Very honest!! Very hard to find an honest place anymore. Found a screw in my tire this morning. Took it here 2 days before Christmas. They were able to get me right in. Not only that, but come to find out the screw didnt penetrate my tire enough to cause a leak. I of course didnt know until they told me and let me go free of charge! They had the perfect moment to pull one over on me and make a quick buck, but they decided to go the honest route. Told me what happened and didnt charge me!

Outstanding service!!! Had some transmission work done. The seal that comes with the kit did not work. Manager ordered new seal, as well as went out of his way to research my transmission. Found out a pass through seal had advisory on it. Ordered that part as well. Put everything on in few hours, checked to ensure everything was tight and right before contacting me that it was done. Highly recommend this shop!!!!!! Will use them again in the future!!!

Great service. These guys have a thorough and honest inspection of my old rattlebox of a car, and were knowledgeable and transparent about what were priorities to fix right away, and what should be fixed in the future. They seemed skilled and most importantly concerned with making sure I understood what they safety issues were.

It was late - after 6PM. Free Service is open late on Thursday (7PM). I was in a tire crisis. Puncture, couldnt get the lugs off. I limped into the garage. While I couldnt afford the only tire of my size they had in stock, they took the punctured flat off, put on the spare and didnt charge me anything. Free Service proves there are still good people!

This place is amazing!! In town for an off-roading event and blew a tire on 75. Not only did the manager stay after hours to ensure my Jeep was parked inside but ordered a tire (which the size is rare to come by apparently in TN) for delivery the next day - which no other place offered to do!! Not the same exact tire but I didn’t care as long as I was able to get home a couple of days later - it was the same size and that’s what mattered so I could get the matching tire once I got home! Honest, reliable, A+++++ and would HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking for service! Thank you x a million for the amazing southern hospitality!!!

I have purchased both sets of tires for my 4Runner from here with great service. I run my tires with nitrogen and Free Service is the only place in Oak Ridge that carries it. I’ve stopped in twice for a top off for no charge which was very nice. I came in 30 minutes before closing with an issue with my tire. Ron (store manager) was able to diagnose the issue, offer a solution, and even stayed past closing to fix my problem. He didn’t have to do that but he went above and beyond in my eyes. I will definitely continue to use their service and recommend them to my friends and family.

We are originally from Louisiana and this guy was really professional. He took care of our oil change and tire rotation. He even made sure our sensor was working that someone from Louisiana had broken! Definitely going back!!

Went here for me tires on my Chevy 3500 passenger van. The manager was friendly, helpful, and seemed very knowledgeable. As to the quality of work, my van has new tires. They did give me a heads up about some issues on the braking and suspension systems and were not pushy about trying to fix them there. I really appreciate this. I hate pushy auto repair places that try to milk you.

These guys were great. Figured out what I needed quickly, and were flexible in scheduling to get it done. Haven’t had a problem since. The associate who helped me - I think his name was Rob - was really friendly and knowledgeable.

I have been using Free Service Tire ever since I bought my tires there about two year ago, and they have always taken care of me. They always offer very competitive prices and are always upfront with you. They are a small shop at the Oak Ridge store so sometimes the wait can be a bit longer than others, but to me it is worth the wait.

The service advisor was very nice and helpful. Despite being short staffed theyre doing their best to get us in and out in a timely manner. Which is greatly appreciated being so I have two young children with me and I need tires today. Theyre to the point where they cannot be put off any longer without causing safety issues.

Fast, friendly, and incredibly professional. Was stressed about coming in without any prior notice or appointment, but they made it incredibly easy; no pressure, very honest, and great service! You can trust these guys, theyre great! Highly recommend~

Prices are very reasonable. Well worth a look for anyone in the market for tires.These guys recently replaced a Falken tire for me, quickly and easily.

I have been going here for over a year for oil changes and tires. The manager Ron is absolutely honest, helpful and friendly every time!! It is best to have an appointment for a Saturday as they are usually booked full! I will not go anywhere else because of Ron’s honesty, helpfullness and friendliness!! I have used a different location of Free Tire Service a few times in the past and they were NOT honest and helpful like Ron is!

I had a thumping noise when braking that was coming from the rear end of my 96 Jeep XJ. It only needed a simple cleaning and adjustment to get rid of the noise. My parking brake needed adjusting as well, and it works much better. Very good service.

Very nice people that work there, had a flat but limited money and they helped me to get a new tire on my car and not have to pay too much. They even showed me the tire they were putting on beforehand, checked my other tires and put air in them, brought to my attention that I had another tire that would be going flat soon, replaced some lugnuts, and other helpful services they did not have to do. They were overall very caring, helpful and nice.

Ron got me the best deal on brand new tires! He was very understanding and apologetic because they only had one person working that day. Even with only one person and one person ahead of me, I was only there for an hour. Was an amazing team and they took great care of me!

Great customer service. I called about a low oil pressure issue and Ron was able to fit me in last minute on the same day. I was not charged for a diagnostic inspection.Ron took the time to show me what could be causing the low oil pressure and explained the causes as well. He also explained different options depending on the cause for the low pressure. He gave price estimates for whichever repairs would be needed.Came back for a dye test. Very friendly and informative!

Ron the manager was excellent. He explained things to me so that I can understand and gave several price quotes for future work. He honored a warranty from work done by previous management and invited me to come back in a week to make sure there were no air pockets. He said he would remember me. The mechanic was very nice too. Waiting is to be expected. Use your common sense folks. They always give me recommendations and several options on the repairs I WANT DONE, not what they want done. The price they quote is the price I pay. Comparatively speaking, you get what you pay for. Theyre very fair on pricing. And most of the time, theyre done when they say theyll be done. Im a very satisfied repeat customer.

I had a minor emergency one evening. A worker who helps older people at an assisted living facility had a flat tire. After examination, the tire had damage to the sidewall and couldn’t be repaired. It was close to closing time at the Oak Ridge store but the two employees stayed over to help me help this worker get her car fixed. It is very close to Christmas and these polite and helpful young men went beyond the call of duty and demonstrated what Christmas is all about. They gave extra time and effort to help someone in need. Thanks to them and to Free Service Tire. Merry Christmas!

After having a tire repair here I decided that this will be the place I bring my car for service. As a single woman sometimes its hard to find a trustworthy mechanic, but Mr. Babka is exactly that.Look for the facility not far from Arbys and the Sherwin Williams paint store.

Driving down the road and out of nowhere my vehicle begins to make this terrible grinding sound. The 1st place I see is this Free Service Tire, so I pulled in. I explain to them what was going on and asked if they could look at on the rack to inspect for anything obvious. They immediately took my vehicle for test drive then put it on the rack. They determined it was the transfer case and gave me some useful advice. I did not have repairs done due to cost compared to vehicle value and I have already been considering a new vehicle purchase anyway. However, they are super friendly folks willing to help!

We went in to have a vibration problem assessed before a long trip and found out that our tires were completely worn down in places and essentially falling apart. We ended up having to convert the fancy Honda wheels and tires (Pax tires) to a standard wheel with good quality Michelin tires. They offered a 2 year warranty with the tires, did an alignment, complementary oil change, replaced brake rotors after seeing they were worn, and installed new tire pressure sensors. The total price was better than expected, and I would recommend this place to others. They provided excellent customer service and worked hard to get our van back to us quickly. We will be return customers for all future needs.
