Staff is friendly and my car is running great. I would recommend getting there early as smog checks are first come, first served. As of 8/3/21 the smog technician is not available on Mondays so please plan accordingly.

Great service. Friendly staff. Very helpful. I have a 97 honda with over 300k on the original engine. I do maintain my car, and I know, I have so e little leaks. When they let me know what other work needed to get done, I let them know I could not do it that day. They were very understanding, not pushy at all. Even gave me an estimate upon my request. Trust worthy! I have been coming to this team for years. I first had my engine rebuilt while they were at mission auto care, and ever since I have returned for check engine lights, oil changes, belt changes, strange noises, strange smells.My car is a 2005 with 220k miles on it so it is not worth much but they always leave it running smooth when I leave!

They came to my rescue when my clutch burned out while traveling. Where everyone else would not even look at my truck for weeks, they squeezed me in so I could get back on the road. They explained everything and gave me a fair price. Everyone was wonderful.

This has to be the best mechanic shop Ive ever used. The prices are extremely fair. I recently has a bad car day. Both my wifes car and mine broke down in the same week. My wife was home with the kids and they went above and beyond to drop both cars at home for us after the repairs where done. Im so very appreciative that they where kind enough to do that for us. When I called in the morning, the worker said she accidentally left me on hold for five minutes because she forgot about me. What was supposed to be a 2 hour job, turned into a 5 hour job because she forgot someone went on an hour lunch break.. Then I saw them take my car out of the shop and no one came in, so I went out 20 min later to ask what’s going on, and they said “oh yeah it’s been done”... Not coming back, don’t recommend going here.

Quick and efficient staff and service

I was charged $60.00 to replace 2 brake lights. The brake lights probably cost no more than $10 each, and the total labor was less than 20 minutes. In my opinion, I was overcharged.

Came in here because my car was not starting and I brought it to Oceanside Auto Repair because they have done some really good work on my father’s truck. Prices were VERY reasonable compared to other shops, my car was done on that same exact day!! Their customer service was more than amazing and I loved their cozy waiting area. Will for sure tell all my friends and family about this place if they need any work done on their cars.

Called ahead of time and was told first come first serve. I thought I would have to spend a lot of money for a transmission (last shop told me transmission was slipping). They spent the time and were thorough which saved me from spending a lot of money. Loretta and the guys did a great job!

I had a check engine light on and went in for a free estimate. When I got there I was told that it would be $93.I asked how could that be when they advised (a BIG sign in the shop) free estimates. The reply I got was the estimate was to tell me how much they would charge for a diagnostic. This made my stomach turn so I went elsewhere.*** Update ***I just noticed your comments and I take offence to being called a bully! If I have the wrong shop than I would like to clear that up. Ive attached a picture of the shop I was talking about. I was not looking for work done for free only an estimate of what it would cost to have my car repaired. As the sign clearly states I was only after a free estimate. What I expected was an estimate of what it would cost to have my check engine light go off and to repair my car in order to pass a smog test. Maybe you can clear this up by explaining what is free?

These guys are great! My Range Rover needed maintenance work and brakes changed, I called around and Oceanside auto repair and smog was the most knowledgeable and most affordable pricing around! Alin and the crew did everything I asked for and gave me a great price. I got my brakes changed oil change transmission flush and a new battery. While I was there I told the guys my Air condition wasn’t blowing cold air they recharged my a/c and now I feel like I have a brand new car! This was the first year that I had to get my car smogged and I was very confused about the whole thing. John was very personable, kind, helpful, and fast. He helped me as soon as I walked up to the garage and had me out the door with everything I needed within 20 minutes! Their couches in the waiting area are super comfy too! Very professional, friendly service. I purchased a discounted smog check through Groupon. They were able to take the voucher with no issue, and the smog check was done in no time. Over all this was a very quick, pain-free smog check experience. Also, the seats in the waiting room are super comfy!

Went there to get my car smogged for my boyfriends car smogged. The guy that did smog test should not have done it. Im mechanic friend of mine told me when the check engine light is on theres no point in testing it to see if its going to pass smog because its not and the check engine light was on Im sorry that I didnt know wasted 40 bucks never go there again

Worst experience Ive ever had with any business! Came here for a smog since they have groupings. After bringing my car and the men checking it for 15-20 minutes. He asked me to come check something out. He told me because my cold air intake did not have a sticker to adentify what it was then he would have to fail me. I was very shocked since I just bought the car and didnt know itll fail due to that. He then went on saying that if I gave him an extra $100 he would pass me. I immediately thought that was sketchy so I called another local smog place to find out he was lying to me and trying to make an extra $100 off me! After confronting him about it, he refused to give me my title and registration back until I payed him. Even threaten me by saying he would fail my car if I didnt give the money. I end up not giving up the money and called the police so I can get my paperwork. I would never even imagined I would experience something like this. I recommend going to 5 Star Smog instead! You cannot trust this guy and I do not recommend anyone spending there money here.

Great experience I had today, I took in my Lexus LX 570, to get a smog and the experience was wonderful starting from customer service, to taking care of my car, and one of the best price I got. I really would recommend this shop to anyone who is looking to get their smog check done.

This place is obscure, actually kinda hard to find, but not for a local like myself as you kinda come in around back. Parking is generally good, except on Sundays, more on that later.John is a great guy, friendly, efficient.The waiting room may feel dated, but at least it’s clean and has amenities like water, TV with remote and roku, comfy leather couches and a year round Christmas tree for some decoration. The tile color with all that stuff reminded me of Miami circa 2005.Came in for a groupon smog check in order to register my car and came to found out that although I was one of the first customers on a Saturday and only for my visit, that they only do them on Sundays. For 2 reasons. They make little to no money on a groupon smog ($6) as groupon takes a huge cut. And you are supposed to make an appointment. As I looked around and saw no one and knowing this takes 20 minutes I was like come on man? Bing bang boom we worked something out. Within 20 minutes I was about my day.Don’t be off put my the storage of cars/parts on the south lift. They do bumper repair, body work, light repairs on everything short of heavy duty trucks. They def need an update on the pricing board. It’s nearby plenty of food places while you wait, so that’s good.
