Staff is super friendly! I appreciate that the inspection includes photos and detailed description of what repairs are required, and what needs to be done to determine the cause of some the existing problems. Having the added visual is great for my comprehension of the repairs needed, because I know nothing about cars.The shop was very helpful in providing me with a loaner car they had available, so that I could still do the things I needed to do while my car stayed in the shop overnight. Its great to receive updates through both text and email.The company I work for uses this shop for all of our company vehicles, and has been for years. Im glad that I could bring my car to Jorge Alonso knowing that they are reliable, honest, and thorough. I definitely plan to continue using them in the future.

I usually don’t write reviews, but this shop is top notch! I’m a very picky person when it comes to maintenance. I usually do all my own stuff, but some things like AC is left to the pros and these guys are awesome. The end product was great, and my AC blows extremely cold. I would absolutely do business with them again!

Working with Jorge and his staff is always a pleasure. I recently took on our of hybrid to them since the dealership themselves couldn’t identify an ongoing issue. We asked for a loaner car while they hard our which was provided. Jorge’s staff didn’t give up, they drove our car for forty miles for an opportunity to identify the intermittent RPM issue we were having. They identified the issue and fixed it within a day and a half. We haven’t had the issue since. Without a doubt I’ll gladly return to their location for our service needs. Ive gone to Jorge Alonso twice now and both times Ive been so impressed. Not only are they affordable, but they are so thorough and even have an online system that shows you photos of any issues with your car and they even leave a little goodie bag of candy in the car when its finished-- just a nice touch. One of the very few great mom and pops shops still around, very professional, excellent communication, and skilled mechanics. I run a fleet of pickups and cars in and out of CA as our jobs move, when I have our fleet units in or near oceanside these are the only guys Ill use. Better service than we get from sending our equipment to the dealer, definitely recommend these guys, also the office staff is great to deal with, very friendly and personable. I think their pricing is more than reasonable considering the quality of service...words to live by good service isnt cheap, cheap service isnt good youll pay for it one way or another, dont pay for it twice

Great Service! Integrity is a must when I conduct business, Jorge and his crew lived up to it. Jorge gave me an honest estimate for the repairs done on my truck. Jorge himself explained the details to me on the reason for changes on the estimate when I receive the final bill. If the estimate is high its because they are basing it on the repair guidelines provided by the vehicle manufacturer. Each vehicle are unique even if they are the same brand, model, etc.Update 30 December 2021Once again, Jorge and his team of mechanics came true to their word. The original part they installed in my truck was defective due manufacturers defects, no fault to the shop. Since the part was under warranty, Jorge and Marlene took care of the warranty leg work. Took my car there Dec 2020 to get my car repaired and one of the repairs was to replace the battery. The battery is totally dead and even though we have a 3 year warranty they refused to honor it unless we towed the entire car there. It would have cost us more to tow the car there then to buy a new one! Be aware of this policy before you buy.

The lady in the office, sorry I forgot your name, she was SO polite and personable. Jorge did an amazing job on my car. I usually have my personal machanic handle any car I have, but this one in particular needed more than what is beyond an independent mechanic can do. They went above and beyond to make sure my car was taken care of and fixed. They asked for authorization before working on my car with each step. They didnt coerce me into anything I wasnt ready to handle. It was a very comfortable experience and I would highly recommend Jorge and his team. AC unit loosing charge, I took my vehicle to many shops and they could not find the leak. I came here for the first time recently to have several repairs done on my car. The first thing I noticed was the great customer service. Marlene was friendly and did a great job of helping me. What really separated this shop from any other is this…The handle on the inside of my door on the drivers side was broken off for awhile and while making the repairs on my car Jorge took it upon himself to order one for me and install it free of charge! Jorge Alonso Auto Repair was able to get our F250 ready for smog (OBDII monitor not ready) after 2 years of trying with various smog shops and repair facilities who all said,” You just have to drive it”. Hundreds of miles later we found Jorge thru an online search of how to diagnose smog issues. They found the issue in no time, a $170 sensor + diagnostics. Passed smog same day. Jorge was honest, a great communicator, full of knowledge and reasonably priced. We added some other items like AC, which only needed freon, they asked us to come back in 2 weeks at n/c to verify no leaks. We were updated by text, phone and email throughout the process. We are beyond pleased with our experience and have found our new mechanic. We will be referring Jorge Alonso Auto Repair to our family and friends.

I reached out to J.A. Auto Repair when I was searching for someone to do a pre-purchase inspection on an older car I was interested in buying from a private party as my teenage sons first car. Not only do I want to make sure my kid drives a safe vehicle, but also being on a limited budget I dont want to invest in a lemon and that is why INSPECTIONS ARE PARAMOUNT.Marlene is a great receptionist/assistant, very personable, and Jorge was equally relatable on the phone and very helpful in setting up an appointment that worked for both the seller and me. I wanted a classic inspection plus a compression test. The car was put on a lift and shortly thereafter Jorge called me over to show me his first findings. He pointed out some major issues and several massive red flags, which I would not have suspected since none of it was readily apparent with a basic visual inspection on the street, the car felt great on a test drive, and it had passed smog less than a month prior. Jorge could have gone through the whole inspection before talking to me and charged me for a compression test, but instead he showed me the issues right away and told me that there was no point in doing a compression test and that he couldnt let me buy that car already as it was (not that I would have at that point). He even handled the car owner who was not very happy with being told that his car was a dud and insisted that none of the issues were that bad. Then Jorge also gave me a discount on the inspection. With my budget and knowing that I am going to have to go through this again until I actually find a car worth buying, that was very much appreciated.Did I say Marlene is great? She is both professional and great for casual banter while waiting around for services to be performed. I had a pretty fun time at the mechanics isnt exactly a sentence I expected to utter, especially when I got bad news while there. Anyway, all this to say that I am now keeping an eye out specifically for vehicles for sale within a 15 minutes radius from J.A. Auto Repair so that I can get any further inspections done there. I trust Jorge and his team to be honest with me and act in my best interest, and they are great people to be around, so they definitely have my business anytime I need a mechanic in that area. Second, they will offer you loaner cars for local commuting and your only responsibility is to fill the tank up when you’re done. Third, they give an accurate time frame. Excellent quality of work. Has given me written records of every repair with pictures of issues for my own records, and works well within a budget. All staff are friendly and the turnaround for most repairs is within a couple days. Ive had him take care of three different vehicles with more than satisfactory work done to all. I noticed my A/C wasn’t working well in my car, after being ripped off badly by another local body shop I happen to read some reviews about Jorge’s shop. Very pleased with what I had read I booked an appointment to have them look at my car. They couldn’t fix the A/C problem and said I should take it to Honda because the issue might be covered under warranty since my car was fairly new. I loved the honesty within the shop and the friendly family vibe. Since that time they are where I go to get my oil changes. They have a reminder email that goes out too incase life gets too crazy and you forget when your car should be serviced.

A true five star experience. Moved to Oceanside a year ago and needed a new mechanic. I saw that Jorge had excellent reviews on Yelp, so I brought my 2000 Jag XK8 to him explaining it needed a lot of work since its old and has been in storage for two years. Jorge took on the challenge and was fair on pricing, provided ongoing updates via texts, emails, and photos of the repairs (a personalized touch), and thoroughly explained the repairs along the way. When I picked up my car, it was sanitized on the inside, there was a personalized thank you note, and a bag of candy. What more do you need, go see this guy.

A good friend of mine referred me to Jorge Alonso Auto Repair so I took my Chevrolet Camaro there for an oil change and tire rotation and was so impressed with Marlene at the front desk who gave me the details that I would be getting text messages and emails on each step of the car repair process. I dont think that any other car repair shops do this. I also received an in depth PDF report on the repairs made and other important observations about the care - including a non-urgent oil leak and a chip in the windshield that I had no idea about! The report included pictures and video as well. That was awesome. I also liked the option of having a free rental car for a day so that I didnt have to get a ride or call a rideshare. Within minutes after my Audio A4 was towed to Jorge Alonso Auto Repair, Jorge and one of his technicians identified multiple issues with my car. Jorge followed up with me through text, phone, email, explaining what they had completed and what still needed to be done. I was informed throughout the repair and the car repairs were completed on time as promised. My Audi runs better than ever. I am more than satisfied with the repairs and the cost of the repairs.Update: I had an unknown mechanical issue with my Pontiac G8 GT. Jorges technician quickly identified the main problem, and after a thorough inspection, identified several other issues that needed attention, as well another issue that needed immediate attention. Jorge ordered the needed parts and one of his technicians made the repairs. I am again completely satisfied with the service. My G8 is again running at a high performance level.

I found Jorge Alonso through a Yelp search as it was conveniently located to my work. I know I needed new breaks going in. The staff was incredibly friendly and courteous the entire process from making an appointment to picking up your car. I absolutely LOVED how they sent text message updates of the process and photos from your car of what needed to be fixed. It was incredibly helpful for me as a non car person. Jorge also caught a mistake another auto body shop did about a year ago when I paid a fortune for a set of front breaks that were installed incorrectly. I was able to take that photo Jorge sent me and send it to the other shop, who has now since issued a check refunding the amount needed to fix the problem. Every touch by Jorge and his team was personalized. My 3 yo daughter in particular loved the little bag of candy and handwritten note they left on the dash as a thank you. It was an incredible experience and I would recommend it to anyone!

I kept getting a Gas Cap Missing message on my 4th gen Ram 1500. I tried replacing the Gas Cap, the ESIM and the Purge Valve with Mopar parts and it still wouldnt go away. I took it to Jorge for a smoke test and he found the leak in a hose coming off the purge valve. I swapped out the hose and was able to pass smog.

Absolutely the best mechanic I have ever gone to. Most knowledgeable, excellent diagnostic work, fair pricing, and fast. Identified a clogged line in my a/c system after 2 other mechanics just charged the system with freon and called it good. Friendly with great customer service, text updates on how my truck was doing. Jorge is amazing! I would recommend him to anyone who is having any sort of car problems. He is honest, reliable, and actually cares about his customers and their vehicles. My car kept having problems and every other mechanic kept giving me the run around and over charging for mediocre work. I took it to Jorge and I finally received the answer of what was wrong. When my car starting acting up again recently, he was honest with me about it being a lost cause. I will always appreciate his honesty and hard work. If you have ANY car trouble, don’t bother going to anyone else!

Jorge went out of his way to repair our rusted fuel lines on our 2003 Silverado, finding the last set in a warehouse on the other side of the country. We were in a huge time crunch, as we were moving 4 days after we found the fuel leak, and Jorge made sure the repairs were completed in time for us to get on the road. He is amazing at communication, and we got text updates with details, pictures, estimates, and repair completions regularly. I I wish we would have found him before our last week in Oceanside!

These guys are so great! They actually do the work they say theyre going to do and give a wonderful repair report when theyre done!! I wont go anywhere else. Jorge is also very respectful, funny and understanding toward the lack of knowledge I have with cars. He explains the issues clearly so even a layman like me can understand. And he does NOT try to up-sell you on repairs you do not need! My experience with the team at Jorge Alonsos was excellent and I had some serious repairs done on my Toyota Tacoma, specifically with the rear drive train.

Jorge is great, explains what hes doing thoroughly and works to get things done the right way, rather than putting work in just to charge you for it. I brought my Subaru in after it started overheating, and he insisted on performing the appropriate checks rather than just flush the coolant. Turned out I had a faulty head gasket and I could have spent a ton of money patching the problem without knowing that it was headed down failure lane. Highly recommend this shop if you want to get your problem dealt with decisively.

Hands down the best shop that Ive taken my vehicle to in North County. I have a 2011 Dodge Challenger RT that took in some water during the February 2020 rains. Jorge and Marlene were super responsive. My vehicle was dropped off at the shop and they hooked me up with a rental while they took care of the engine issues. Im the kind of guy that needs to see evidence and number that indicate to me what issues my vehicle is having. Jorge will take the time to explain the vehicle mechanics and provide a best solution rather than a cost-effective one that will mean more mechanic work down the road. I always get a sense of trustworthiness, confidence, and sincerity when Im speaking to Jorge and his team.

I used to go to a family mechanic for all my car issues. Never again. After getting my car serviced at Jorge Alonsos Auto Repair shop I have had all my car issues fixed correctly and in a timely manner. Yes, it is a little more expensive than the family mechanic but you definitely get what you pay for, and at Jorge Alonsos that is quality!

Unlike many mechanic shops that try to screw you over, Jorge Alonso Auto Repair fixed many cables that a rat chewed through. They were able to find the all the wires quickly and efficiently. They gave me updates through text messaging and when they found that the problem was a lot larger, Jorge Alonso personally called and texted me about what was happening and how much it would cost, even sending pictures. Its a very friendly place and I highly recommended this place to anyone that needs quick repairs. In total, I was able to drop my car off at noon and picked it up before the day was even over.

I went to Alonsos with a car that had electrical problems, the battery would fully drain if I didnt drive it everyday. Jorge and his mechanic tested all the fuses and found a circuit that had a vampire drain on the system. After tracing all components they were able to find the faulty XM Sirious radio device that I did not use. It was causing the drain! Im impressed! Since I didnt use it, we disconnected it because a replacement would be very expensive. They also replaced a noisy wheel bearing and my car is running great, starts up in the morning and no more rumble noise from the bad bearing.Additional Notes: They take photos of all the parts and problems and text you all results. Sept 2021 Back again...excellent service to replace two valve covers...wow everything looks new connections tight and running like a top! Wonderful! Honest! Kind! We went to fix my dads 1997 ford and we were visiting Oceanside so his regular mechanic wasn’t here. Jorge was personable and honest! We went to another place near by and they lied completely about a huge part that was needed and wanted to charge 600 and Jorge said that wasn’t even needed. He broke down the details and even wiped down the car after for COVID safety! Marleen was also very sweet! Please support his business!

They found what was wrong with our vehicle that 3 other mechanics couldnt figure out. The others told me it was the catalytic converters, we almost spent a load of money for them to be bought and replaced. Good thing we came here! They found what the real problem was and we saved money. They explained things in detail for us to understand what was wrong and how it was to be fixed and what the parts role in the vehicle is. They communicated very well regarding when my vehicle was being worked on and when it was ready for pick up. They were very professional and honest. I’m from out of town and found Jorge’s website. My check engine light was on and I was worried about making the 700 mile return trip home pulling our camping trailer. Jorge’s tech did a thorough evaluation and although they didn’t do the major motor repair work, he did give me specific valuable info on how to get the car and family home safely, and what to have done to/with the car once we were home. I had a great experience with Jorge and wish he lived in Utah so I could have him maintain all my vehicles! I recommend him highly! Thank you sir, you’re awesome. By the way, his shop is so clean you could eat off the floor!!!

This is my new favorite car repair shops. I have never experienced such proficiency. My car was fixed as fast as they could, texts updating along the way, minimal back and forth, limited questions, did what I asked with no questions and did it fast. Jorge was a God-Send to my mother!! When her Mercedes 320 SLK (2005) wouldnt pass the smog check due to the Check Engine light being on, he made certain to do a full diagnostic, fixed everything that would pass the smog check PLUS the few items she had neglected but need attention to ensure she was safe while driving. Then, the repair shop took her car over to the smog check place for her, and gave her a loaner car to use in the interim - all free of charge! Who does that?! Jorge Alonso does! In addition, they gave her a list and pricing to fix and/or certain repairs that will be needed down the road. My mom is in her 70s and lives by herself - this just gave her added confidence and furthered her independent living. Plus, gives me u0026 my brothers peace of mind knowing that she has a reputable, reliable, fair and professional auto repair service close to her home and wont take advantage of her just because shes driving a foreign car. I cannot recommend Jorge Alonso enough! They definitely have our entire familys business from here on out.

I had my check engine light come on and had what I thought was an issue with my alignment. I thought I’d get both addressed at the same time. They were able to address my concerns within that same day. I received updates throughout the process and the team as courteous and prompt in addressing my needs. Turns out the engine light was only a gas cap, but what I thought was a much need alignment as a problem in my steering column. I had it repaired and I am so grateful and relieved that they were able to identify the problem and repair it. I have a pretty long commute and was so happy that my car rode so much smoother, the steering was responsive and no shaking. It was a pleasant experience with this company and the extra attention to customer service that they showed was much appreciated.
