My cpu was not working I was going to buy another one and I came here which was conveniently around the corner and was advised that they would do a free quote and call me back well I had to call them because i was unsure of how long a diagnostic took but they called me and told me a reasonable price so I was like cool then when the day came to pick it up the price went up by 50 because he had to get a new hard drive my thing is that sometimes I may have just enough to pay so i would like to have that quoted to me upfront other then that service was great!!!

My laptop was damaged at an airport. Took it here and received excellent advice and service. When I needed help with recovering data and re-installing programs, I went back for assistance. Not only was the work done well and at a competitive price, but they made many helpful suggestions on how to improve efficiency. I will return to follow-up on those suggestions.

I believe in positive reinforcement, so I m writing a review for these guys when I almost never write reviews! Amax Computers does a great job- they are welcoming when you arrive, not condescending about your computer issue, they were prompt with update calls and pickup status, and they SAVED what I thought was a hopeless hard drive!! I even got it home, found some drivers that hadnt reinstalled and they told me to bring it on back and they d take care of it at no extra cost. Can t beat that. Great job, Omar !!!

Everyone at Amax Computers was super helpful from the get-go when I had a hard-drive issue with my laptop. The way they handle the intake of your system for repair and the level of customer service involved is top notch and how all businesses should operate. Computer repair that was fair Computer repair shop gave me a fair deal I feel and didnt charge me too much they were professional and very nice too. I would recommend Amax Computers to someone else that needs their computer fixed. My computer has not had any problems since I got it back a few days ago. I took my other computer there last week a laptop and they were able to fix it as well and make the internet run faster.

These guys rock my world, and do so consistently and with great customer service. They offer different prices to fit your timeline and budget, and go above and beyond to figure out weird, quirky issues. (Theyve also been exceedingly helpful and patient in explaining why my computer has gone haywire, and have helped me make tough decisions about my 6+ year old laptop. Ultimately, Ive gotten the laptop fixed with them twice, but I appreciate that like my mechanic, they will tell me whats wrong in plain language and help me evaluate whether its a smart decision to go ahead with repairs.) Have used this place before and had no problems BUT I dropped off a PS3 to have it worked on June 2013 and was told it would be ready in two weeks. After several weeks of getting the run around and told they needed to try a new part and to call back next week (for well over two months) I finally gave up. The last thing I heard from them was that THEY would call me in two weeks when it was supposed to be finished; that was in October 2013. I went in yesterday to see what they had to say; all they could do was take my name and See if it was ready yet. When I explained to them the situation they referred me to their This is not a storage place, you will be charged $20 a month sign and said it would be $240 plus the repair!!!!!! I told them to SHOVE IT and left.

Best place to get your computer fixed, My go to place for any electronics needs, recently got my Laptop fixed, couldnt figure out why my Wizard101 installer wont run, come find out computer was infected. Omar took care of viruses and got my laptop going.

These guys are competent, efficient, honest and nice to work with - a hard find these days. I had a hard drive go bad in a Laptop. A local PC specialist, having kept it two week and charged me 100 bucks told me they couldn’t recover the data because there was an encryption chip on it and the board was bad. They would have to send it off to a clean room and it was likely going to be 1500-2000 dollars. I checked on the web for encryption and couldn’t find anything but I did find Amax Computers and called them. I took the drive in and next day and for 1/10 the cost, I had my data back!. Omar is on my Speed Dial now. Thank You guys.

Disappointed... took my ps3 to get fixed and the man said it would be ready in 3 days. I call to see if its ready and the man says 2 more days. 2 weeks later i go to pick it up and the man brings my console out and says it will cost $65 to fix it and it would be ready the next day... Like WTF?!?!? I THOUGHT IT WAS ALREADY BEING WORKED ON...

I did some research to be able to get my computer fixed, I tried 1 shop before and they couldnt help me with the problem, so I found this Amax Computer shop and they did fix what others couldnt do, the price was fair but most important to me - I was able to get all my important files back! Terrible experience. We wiped our computer because it had some problems, probably a virus. We wanted them to reload the software and fix any problems. When we got the computer back most of the software was loaded, minus one, but they couldnt figure out how to make two of the USB drivers work and they didnt fix any problems. My husband could have easily reloaded the computer with the software; he needed the problems corrected. After the gentleman at Amax yelled at my husband over the phone, we definitely were not going to go back. My husband loaded the software they had forgotten to load and fixed the two drivers himself.

Today I spent a lot time on the phone with Okidata Tech Support but in vain, to correct a problem I was having trouble with Okidata Printer. No solution and a very frustrating few hours. Assuming I would need to take the laptop in for repair, I called Amax Computers to get information about their services. I am quite thankful that a super hero, Omar, came to my rescue. Bless you man. We discussed the error message and he walked me through the fix. He asked the right questions and in 5 minutes, Outlook was healed! Thanks so much.......

Not sure which person it was that answered the phone, but within 10 seconds the guy literally just started blabbing incomplete sentences, much like us men do to our wives when we arent listening =). On a serious note. Asking the person on the phone if they carried any Socket AM3+ CPU fans/heatsinks, and he goes we have a couple things here. I keep hinting if they had the specific part I needed and he continues with bring it in and well take a look at it, after I had already told him I have been in the business for 20 years myself, and I only needed a part. Retired military. He then starts talking with someone in the background, or maybe talking to me at a distance talking very unintelligibly. At that point I said again Do you carry socket AM3+ cpu fans?, and he goes okay, okay, okay, again not listening at all. At that point he literally starting hanging up on me, while blabbing again. And...... he hung up. Sad example of how to handle a customers needs.

This guy here, Omar, is unbelievable! Lied to me to push me aside for other clients. Took my laptop in for a blue screen problem, but he was so busy that day he said he couldnt get to it even after he told me to bring it in and hed have diagnosed it by the close of the day. So left it overnight, next day late that afternoon he said he diagnosed it and found 96 viruses ???, so would be like $79 and problem solved.Not! I get there and he says oh its not a virus, you will need a new HD screen for like $330???..WTH? Really? I could tell he was not interested in my business and just wanted to get to his other clients. So I took my lptp and went to the Geeks who said a piece of material had jammed my CPU fan up and caused my hard drive to crash after overheating. They cleared up, then installed a hd and new OS for $140. These guys are after one specific clientele here, the old ones that they can take advantage of......avoid this place!

My custom built gaming PC died and I took it in for repairs (at AMAX) and told them I suspected electrical problem’s, as it had stopped working with a bright flash in the wall receptacle and burning smell. They told me they would not charge me anything to diagnose the problem and to call them back in two days. I called them back two days later and the technician told me my power supply was bad and needed replaced with a new one. I approved the fee for ordering one and the tech told me to call back in one week to give them time to have the part shipped to them and install it (not a normal desktop power supply, was a high end gaming power supply which was why it had to be ordered).A week goes by and I call back in and the technician tells me that the power supply had arrived and they had installed it but that my desktop was still not working so they needed two more days to figure out why. I waited two days and called them back and the technician said he still had not figured out what was the cause and to just give him one more day. I waited one more day and then called them back and yet again he did not know what the problem was and that he was giving up and I just needed to come pick up my pc, his words not mine.I went that day and picked it up and fully expected a fight about the charge for the new power supply but the guy at the counter was nice and polite and gladly handed over my desktop and never mentioned anything about a fee for a new power supply. He charged me nothing and said he was sorry for not being able to fix it.Well done AMAX, you didn’t fix my problem but you didn’t act like a tool about it and you didn’t try to gig me for money. So I thought until about two weeks later. When I got home I found all of my system fans were disconnected and I still had the original power supply in it. No big deal since I didn’t pay for the new one, but since they had told me that the new power supply didn’t fix my problem I assumed that my current power supply was ok. Based on that information they gave me I ordered a new Motherboard ($245) and swapped it out with the current one. Still not working. I ordered a new cpu ($330) and swapped it out with the current one. Still not working. I ordered all new RAM ($349) and swapped them out with the current one’s. Still not working. I ordered a new Video Card ($459) and swapped it out with the current one. Still not working. I installed another older sata drive that I had laying around with the current one. Still not working. I ordered a new cpu cooler ($50) and swapped it out with the current one. Still not working. I ordered a new full wiring harness for the case ($35) and swapped it out with the current one. Still not working… WTF !!!! everything is new except the case and the psu, right? The case cant cause it all not to work so I ordered a new psu ($145) and swapped it out with the current one. BOOYAH !!!! FIXED AND I AM POSTING THIS REVIEW WITH MY DESKTOP.I will give them credit for diagnosing the PSU as bad but they never checked the parts past the power supply. Took my previous equipment to another pc repair shop to have them test it all, to see what was bad. Gave it all to them in a box and a day later they reported back that the PSU, the motherboard and the cpu were toast but all the rest was good. So now I got some spare parts if I ever have troubles again :)Morale of the story here: Take your gaming pc elsewhere to get fixed. These guys sure are nice but they are incompetent at working on custom built gaming pc’s.I very seldom leave a review and if I do it’s only really good reviews. I’m not a basher by any means but while these guys might be good at diagnosing and fixing small hardware and software problems and they are really nice and polite they sure leave allot to be desired with how proficient they are at fixing major system problem’s.
