I live on the road and always look for wonderful and unique places to have coffee.We found ourselves in the area and were looking for a cup. We did a Google search to find a coffee shop that was open later at night.A great vibe and atmosphere, modern with the overly White tones but yet very comfortable. The baristas were friendly and even offered to bring our drinks to us at the table after we ordered.Looking forward to coming back.

Nice little neighborhood coffee shop on Metcalf Ave. Very popular as it was pretty crowded on a Friday mid morning. Cherry Danish was delightful and the traditional cappuccino was delish as well. Clean restroom. Lots of tables and chairs throughout the shop. Rather noisy when its so busy. Well worth checking it out. Ill go again for sure.

Ive been here a couple of times and Im very neutral about the place. If youre looking for a place to meet up for a book club, group project, or even a place to study this is the place to go. It has free WiFi and the atmosphere is wonderful, it always puts me in the working mood.As far as coffee goes, its definitely sub par. The espresso shots feel like youre drinking charcoal and for me its not worth the price you pay. I havent tried their bakery items, but I do know that they offer gluten free things.Overall its not a bad place to study at, but dont be surprised if your coffee is a little off.

Ive visited this place a few times now while I am still working remotely, and I have never been disappointed once by coming here. Lots of seating, a great place to meet with someone or several people. Great coffee (they use Post coffee co out of Lees Summit). The big gem of this place though is: The people! The baristas and owner and all the employees are just so dang friendly. They really care about this place and it shows. Its just a great atmosphere.If I had to complain about 1 thing and really nit pick, its the music: Its pretty loud. Not only is it hard to hear on zoom calls and such, its also hard to stay focused when your having a conversation with someone. Again, thats if I have to find something to complain about, everything else is fantastic! Highly recommend this place to anyone.

My favorite coffee in the area, the only one that offers real cappuccinos without the huge amounts of milk. The coffee flavor is interesting and different, nutty with hints of nutmeg and cinnamon. Nice foam art. Super friendly owner and employees. I skip all the other coffee around and come here once a day if possible, theyre already recognizing me how I like my coffee.

I enjoy the drinks here, although their syrups can be a bit underwhelming from time to time. I enjoy the space as it feels open and lively. Dont come here for quiet work with all the hard surfaces and patrons equates to a bit louder of an environment.

I have traveled coffee shops around the states, my father used to own a professional grinder and Italian espresso machine, I must say. I am impressed.The sun was really bright, so a gentleman walked over and put the blinds down so that the sun wasnt in our eyes.We thanked him and learned he was the owner, he welcomed me since it was my first time in and he told us about some new products coming in soon.You just dont get this kind of personal one on one experience at a starbucks. Seriously, these guys are attentive, family owned, and they very obviously love what they do.I love seeing family owned businesses like this.Keep up the good work guys. I love what I see and I will be back.

This coffee shop is a great hang out joint. They have great coffee and they have a beautifully done work area where you and sit and work. I love to grab a book and head over to this place again and again.

Bakery treats were perfect, to die for, and had tons of gluten free options! Tried a ginger flower latte which was an especially pleasant and new experience and Im already planning my next drive out to try more treats!

Great place, and they are super accommodating with allergies/restrictions! They even let us read the ingredients of items to be sure it was allergen safe. :)

My pop tart was tasty and they fixed an issue with a coffee order without any complaints. However it is busy and stays busy most of the day. I wasnt able to easily find a plug for my computer because there were so many people coming going and staying put.

Honestly the americano was so much better than Starbucks, Im not sure I can go back to Starbucks ever again. Im ruined.

This place is amazing!!!! Such a clean and calm atmosphere and quality coffee. The baristas were incredibly friendly and happy to answer all the questions we had. Homemade smores pop-tart was delicious, even if it didnt really taste like a smores. Also got the seasonal maple chai latte, which was steamed to perfection if just a little cooler than Id prefer. But no scalded milk, and the microfoam on top was beautiful. Personally, I love frozen blended espresso drinks, so Im sad there isnt a blender in the place. But all around, it was a great experience and Ill be back!

Good coffee nice atmosphere

Love the atmosphere. I always stop in on my way to work or before running errands so I never get to sit and hang out but the atmosphere is perfect for spending all day there. I LOVE the quality and taste of their beverages. Iced vanilla latte is my go to and it just tastes way more real and delicious than the other place. Y’all know who I’m talking about. Can’t beat the fair prices and again staff is great. Atmosphere is great. Definitely my favorite coffee shop in the KC area.

Loved my experience here. Was greeted warmly by baristas and enjoyed my oat milk mocha immensely! Not too packed, great coffee menu, and seating and decor is modern, classic, and beautiful! Would love to come back soon.

Thought we would try a new place to pick up a latte. We were extremely disappointed. Coffee was not good. My husbands vanilla latte barely tasted like coffee. Was more like hot water with milk. I had a pumpkin latte which was barely any better. The manager was the one who waited on us. His mask was barely covering his mouth. He was not very friendly but he asked what we would like and rang it up. Then whenever we were paying he walked away to go do something with the trash cans and we waited and then he finally came back to take our money. Poor service and poor coffee!!! The only thing this place had going was the decor. We ended up throwing our coffee away and stopped by the Roastery for a good cup of coffee. Will not be returning.

The coffee was amazing. My husband and I each had a pour over. They were both full of flavor. We tried a key lime pastry and key lime tart. Both were delicious! Great place and we cannot wait to come back.

I have really enjoyed their coffee here. Its not overpowering and has a nice smooth flavor. Its quickly becoming one of my favorite places to go.

I have always enjoyed coming here. The atmosphere is excellent. It is my favorite spot to study, read, or meet friends. The coffee is amazing. The lattes are some of the best I’ve had, and I especially enjoy their creative seasonal specials. The pastries are divine. I love their weekend donuts, the red velvet cake donut is beyond words. I also have to say, their customer service is above and beyond!

So impressed! My iced latte was delicious, my colleague loved her chai tea latte. Cute space, great wifi. Highly recommend and will return.

Prior to COVID, I loved Pilgrim. Today changed all of that.It was evident that they do not care about state COVID guidelines.Upon entering Pilgrim, I did not see any visible mask mandate signing. In fact, a woman walked in before me without a mask and ordered without hassle.The staff was wearing a mask, however, the employee that helped us had his mask underneath his nose.As we waited for our to go coffees, I looked around and noticed that of the 30-40 patrons dining in, only 1 had a mask on despite very few actively drinking or eating.The tables were at most, 6 feet apart, however, the patrons in the booths were closer to 3 feet apart.Its very disappointing, because, prior to covid, I loved having a local coffee shop like Pilgrim in Overland Park.Its evident that Pilgrim has not read, or does not care since these issues have been raised 2 months prior in another Yelp review.

Great coffee but a strikingly poor commitment to public health in the time of a pandemic. Brought numerous concerns to the management team via email and have yet to hear a response after weeks. If you are rightfully concerned about your health, do not go here until they take the necessary precautions and stick to them.

The coffee was great, however the coffee shop was full -maybe 20-30 patrons- and there was only 1 patron wearing a mask, no physical distancing and no sign indicating masks are required as per state order and Johnson county order. Employees were masked. I asked an employee why people are allowed not to wear a mask. He stated they could sit without wearing masks but had to wear one “if they walk around”. Not safe. Really disappointed and will not be back for this reason.

The hours itself deserves a perfect review.

I walked into Pilgrim today to get a coffee to-go, and COVID-19 protocols don’t exist. They offer the same eat-in experience as they would if we weren’t still battling a deadly pandemic. No masks even while people aren’t eating and drinking. Tables right next to each other (there were probably 20-30 people in the place). There was a customer waiting for a to-go coffee without a mask as well and had not been told that they needed to have one on to be served (I guess we really haven’t learned anything).I frequent this coffee shop because it’s the closest local shop to where I live, and I’m extremely disappointed, and did not feel safe waiting in there for my coffee. There are other coffee shops that I go to that have limited, spaced-out seating and REQUIRES a mask to be served (most of them are in Kansas City, MO).Unfortunately, it’s patrons that don’t seem to mind as well. As a patron who is trying to be a part of the solution (while also trying to support local business), the lack of responsibility is pretty astonishing and disheartening. I’ll be going to the coffee shops that I know aren’t actively being a part of the problem, despite the distance.Edit: I’m seeing now that 3 different people before me have left reviews on the lack of COVID protocols. Extremely disappointing that even after hearing from customers, and responding to their concerns, there is no change.

Just stopped by with my wife to enjoy a cup of tea. Very nice atmosphere and employees were very pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately, Pilgrim Coffee overly embraces its name and does NOT have any black tea of any kind. This is the first time I have ever visited a coffee shop that did not serve black tea. So unfortunate, as I was thinking of making Pilgrim a regular stop.

Awesome experience here and and amazing atmosphere. The owner came up to me and a friend, thanked us for coming in, and shared with us some of the newer menu items theyre about to roll out! Super personable, friendly, mindful, and really great coffee and food options! 10/10 recommend!!

Pretty cool place, not my favorite so far. The ambience is neat- I like the design of the shop. It is a little loud with the acoustics. Its also a little confusing when they bring you your coffee, because they dont write your name on the cup. They set one of our drinks down and said here you go and we werent sure which drink it was, so we had to wait to get the other one and they happened to name that drink.I ordered a drip coffee with a shot of their homemade orange spice syrup. It was a little too strong of an orange flavor for me, so I wouldnt order it again. However, the coffee kept me hyped up and motivated all day. I liked their check out system and their virtual star bonus program (who needs another rewards card to carry around? Great concept to have it digitally!) I would check it out again and order something different next time.

Lavender latte tasted EXTREMELY packed with lavender, not subtle at all. If thats your thing, enjoy! But for those who have had lavender lattes who expect a more subtle and delicious taste, I would not reccomend it. Not worth $6.00 by any means.

Stopped in mid morning Saturday and it was quite busy. They were well staffed and got orders out quickly though! The homemade poptarts were excellent. I had the wild berry one and it was very flavorful. The Autumn special drink menu has some good options as well.

Pilgrim is such a fun new shop! The atmosphere is great for community or getting some work done at a table by yourself (praise God, lots of outlets!). Its one of my favorite places to meet up with people.

Its ok. Its very loud. I ordered a scone and it never came. I asked about it and apparently they gave mine, which was the last one, away to someone else. They gave me a replacement cinnamon roll and it was so dry I couldnt eat it. I got a vanilla latte and it was good. I would to back for the coffee and fellowship with friends. That is what I did enjoy.

Cool spot and convenient location! Unfortunately, the coffee was just okay, and it took like 15 mins just to get a cappuccino and a latte to go. Looked like a cool place to hang out though, and the baked goods looked tasty!

South Overland Park has needed a place like PILGRIM for a long time. In a city with a rising coffee scene that has some big hitters, Pilgrim stepped into the ring and throws some solid punches. I try to spend a couple hours here on my days off. I am always greeted with a smile and a welcome that is genuine. The Baristas are warm and personable, their passion matches the drinks and treats served up. The drip coffee is excellent. It was a key indicator that the other lattes and espresso drinks were going to please. They have and do consistently. The atmosphere is vibrant and comfortable. If you have not stopped by, come in, grab a drink, sit down with a book or podcast and allow the place to feel like home. Thanks for bring this staple to OP!

The atmosphere is excellent and the employees are nice. I probably wont be a frequent flyer as they do not have skim milk. I dont like 2% milk in my lattes. Bring in skim milk and Im down. Coffee is great but I cannot finish my 2% skinny latte. The sizing is peculiar too....16 oz option only available in iced.

Since Pilgrim opened a couple of weeks ago I have been there more times than I probably should have in such a short time. The different drip coffees are all great and the people serving them are very cool and easy-going. The look and feel of the place is fantastic. The unique, minimalism is a much needed change from the typical Johnson county pomp and an appreciated alternative to cookie cutter Starbucks look. Love the place and Ill probably be there tomorrow too.

One of the best coffee shops in the area, and thats saying something! Never had a bad experience with the employees OR their food and drinks. In fact, after just coming a few times, they even remembered our names!Hint: on Saturdays they have AMAZING apple fritters the size of your face, you have to try one!

Minimalistic interior with a large space that could fit quite a few larger groups comfortably. Their coffee is pretty good, but nothing to write home about, on par with most other higher end coffee places in KC. My friends latte looked great, but I only had an Americano, so take my review with a grain of salt. If you are looking for somewhere good to go thats closer than downtown, I dont think youll be disappointed.
