I went into the store and spoke with Evan and in need of brakes, front and back! The Ev-man was great and he also fixed my seat that I put on backwards. He educated me on the maintenance of the brakes and future maintenance that I will incur. Great place to go and the prices are good.... I called around! Thank you Steady State Cycles very much!!!!!!!
Great shop for enthusiasts. Evan and Steve are great at patiently listening and explaining things. They do great work and go above and beyond to make sure that everything will work out. They go out of their way to carry products that they really like and are willing to share their honest opinions; for example, they are clear about which products they love and which havent worked out as well as hoped.Unlike a negative reviewer who complained about COVID-19 policies, I found Steady State to be very reasonable as they do their best to prevent unnecessary risk.
Great Bike Shop. These guys all were helpful and knowledgeable. They take the time to point you to the right bike, and they know their stuff. Love my new ride!
I brought my Trek Stache in for some help with some long-standing creaking bottom bracket/ frame issues which they very promptly and thoroughly resolved. Steve and Evan are the best! They bring years of experience and keen attention to detail to each and every bike in their stands.
Great store with friendly and knowledgeable employees. Ill definetly be coming back more often now that Ive found this place.
If I were to summarize this shop into one phrase, it would be: Above And Beyond. I recently purchased a Scott Addict RC15 from them and the service from start to finish and beyond has been out of this world. From the very first phone calls inquiring about the bike, Steve and Evan spent almost 30 minutes at a time with my while I was weighing my options. This was such a big purchase and I wanted to get it exactly right. They both went out of their way to share personal reviews, reviews they had heard elsewhere, and also bounce ideas and concerns around until I was sure I had arrived at the right decision. The service while test riding and purchasing was perfect and I felt extremely well taken care of by the entire shop. Since the purchase, I have been back several times adding things to the bike and purchasing other items and even having service done on my other bike. Everything has been tip top quality and impeccable service. Will definitely be utilizing this shop as much as possible and I urge you to do the same.
Absolutely top notch all around. One of the most welcoming and well versed shops I have ever been to. Walked in to look at bikes... walked out with 2.
I love Steady State Cycles (there are bicycle shops closer to me, but I would rather travel 15+ miles to bring my bikes to them). Excellent service, fair prices - they really take the time to explain what they are doing or why something would be beneficial. Theyve done the regular servicing on both of my bicycles, and I recently bought a new Scott Addict from them.
Great service!
Great service. Great selection. Great people. Highly recommend!
I just bought a bike from these guys today. Their customer service is top notch, have great prices on their bikes, and they were patient with all questions I had. Hands down one of the best bike shops I’ve been to in Pittsburgh.
In a time of pandemic and bike shops at maximum capacity, I want to give kudos to Steve for fitting me in for a quick crank arm swap.I bought a power meter from power2max and the crank tool that came with it was the wrong fit. Steve was able to fit me in basically immediately.
These guys are top notch. Whether you are looking to get a new bike, have yours tuned up, or just want to learn more about cycling this is a great place to go. Pittsburgh is lucky to have them. Super nice as well.
Friendly staff, great prices on cycle services, and professional understanding to keep your bike running great. Highly recommended! The Aspinwall/OHara area is lucky to have such a great local cycle shop. Theyve become our go-to. Definitely check them out!
Although they were quite acceptable just 6 months ago it seems like they got quite arrogant as the coronavirus took hold....NOW theyve gone overboard with the mask thing...2nd time they didnt want to deal with a shifter cable and said they would call me as to replacing a the cable....3 days and still waiting...SOO SAD....even Gatto was more acceptable...be sure to wear a mask and be very patient...by by
I asked them to replace the bottom bracket on my old touring bike. Not only did they fix it, they also tried my wheel, adjusted tre brakes and cleaned the chain. They did a great job for a very fair price.
If you are looking to buy a bike, do a custom build, or just get your rig serviced, I think youd be hard pressed to do better than Steady State. They provide the kind of honest, professional service you always hope to find but rarely do.
Great shop! Awesome service, and friendly/knowledgeable staff!
One of the only, if not the only, truly professional service shops in Pittsburgh. Steve is an exacting mechanic, the type of person you trust with your beautiful Italian build or the bike you’re taking corners on at the edge of your ability. The builds I’ve seen come out of Steady State are either performance plus functionality (Scott, Zipp, Shimano Di2), or beautiful project bikes (sparkling De Rosas with glossy carbon wheels and Campy EPS).Anyhoo, it’s a great shop that treats a bike right. Something we really need in Pittsburgh as our road cycling culture grows.
Great service by knowledgable people. Best mechanics in town.
Top notch mechanic, sales and selection.
