Very poor customer service and rude staff.Wanted a propane refill. Sign says, ring bell for service so I did. Waited 15 minutes with nobody. Went inside with three people behind the counter only one of them taking customers. After an additional 10 minutes I was told there was nobody certified on staff to fill propane. What a waste of time.If you arent going to fill propane at least put a sign out so that I dont waste my time waiting for you to not answer the bell.
The worst uHaul experience. Look at the photos and see the condition of the tires of the 26’ truck they gave us to drive 890 miles from Plano to Colorado. Metal threads sticking out of the front tires. We had terrible death wobble all the way from 45 miles upwards due to the very bad tires and alignment. It cost us an extra night with two rooms at a hotel, as we were with family. Not to mention how dangerous this was. Filing a report with NHTSA and a chargeback with our bank. Do not use uHaul Plano at Los Rios if you don’t have to.

I recieved a phone call at 7am to inform me of unnecessary charges. The clerk hung up on me. Horrible customer service. I definitely would not recommend U-haul to anyone and will never be using their service again.
I was encouraged to download the app and self check in. I spent the time to do so. Upon arrival I filled everything out took pics uploaded blah blah. The app told me to go to a propane site and find my truck. I walked over and no trucks. There was two employees standing there doing nothing one lady on her phone. I asked the gentleman how this works he said go inside. Then the lady on her phone pauses her call and gives me some instructions to look for a number and put a code In and all set. I replied i need to wonder around until I find the truck? She said whats the number? I said BP 3070C she said thats a truck you need to go to the counter to check out and resumed her call. So the app was all save time check in and go. So now I stand in line for 20 minutes waiting for the counter to finish the customer. She did greeted me can I help you i said I needed to pick up a truck i checked in on the app. She replying you cant let me see your drives lic and the card for payment. I asked if she was a manager she no I can get you one didnt make a call for anyone,I asked if the manager was the lady at the propane station she said yes, I said nevermind I see why this place is ran like sh*t. Her response was I dont have to dispatch you a vehicle me why her youre rude. I stopped saying anything just finished my chcek out process.Upon return I again waited for 3-5 mins while 3 people were behind the counter. Same person check out said can help you I said truck return she looked up and a screen and didnt say anything else to me. Very awkward didntKnow if I should leave go outside wait what. She finally says youre all set and I walk out.I understand its hard to get employees right not but common. When uhaul encourages me to use self checkout and save time so I made plans to pick something up at 830 and check out took 45 minutes it a little frustrating. Please dont call me to apologize just coach staff.Very unpleasant experience. I know the cameras are going to pick everything up and you can see. I would also say the person that waited on me was not dressed appropriately for work either.
Staff improper communication, they stand behind the contract they they clearly do not explain to customers at the time of pick up and return policy, They are thiefs and charge up your credit card at their convenience. Review your charges and final receipts. Manager is rude and blames customers to be at wrong while yelling on the phone
Great customer service. Hannah helped me a ton and I was in/out in less than 10 minutes. Reserved an appliance dolly and they ran out, but they gave me the display one and it helped out a ton. I’ll be back to this location.
When I got in the truck the check engine light was on. When I got to the location where I was going to load the truck, I opened the back door and the dolly that I had ordered was not in the truck. We had to drive 20 mi round trip to pick up the dolly. As soon as U-Haul resolves this issue by crediting my account for the 20 miles, I will change my rating to four stars.
Went here for propane and the young lady working here told me my best bet was to return tomorrow because the only one that could fill my tanks was working in the warehouse, wrong answer! Found propane at a mobile gas station that had competent employees and lower prices!
The customer service has gone down hill. I waited in line behind one person for over 30 minutes, 4 people behind the desk, and only one helping customers. The others watching her, answering the phone and putting it on hold. Then after my rental, owed tolls, so I called to make sure they were paid. I sat on hold for over an hour....DO NOT RENT FROM THEM, save yourself the aggravation!!
CHECK YOUR BILL! This location straight robbed me. Should of known, had a reservation to pick up at 8AM - wasnt even in my truck til almost 9:30AM and the original truck I was supposed to have keys to somehow disappeared between me finding it in the parking lot and me going to the front to get my keys. Location is severely understaffed - I did the night drop off so they billed me automatically - BIG MISTAKE - I was charged for furniture pads I didnt use (still sealed in the bag) and a dolly THAT WASNT EVEN IN THE TRUCK TO BEGIN WITH - then I was somehow charged for 13.3 gallons of propane, over a third of the tanks max capacity of 36 gallons - when I used LESS THAN AN 8TH - I DROVE 30 MILES! It even says all this on my bill and they still over charged me! I unfortunately already have another reservation here and will not be paying before I see an itemized bill. Online chat only refunded me $10 - I still got robbed on propane.

Awesome customer service especially from Anita Perry, she was very helpful and took of what I needed. After I have dealt with her I have peace of mind renting from this U-Haul location. Highly recommend customer service from Anita, thank you.
For the rental of a truck that is advertised for 20 you get so many added charges you end up paying 100. Never again!
Very very poor, impolite and rude.I booked it on line. I paid. The order is confirmed. Time is confirmed.Today, I went to U-Haul at 11:00am to install hitch kit as per my order. I arrived on time.I met two ladies in this U-Haul location. These two ladies said the hitch kit is not available and they said that they did not confirm me the order below. Their attitudes are very impolite and rude. It is unbelievable. I thought they are better than that. It is not acceptable with such attitudes.Consequently, this has a domino impact on my schedule. I had to cancel the U-Haul Rental Equipment with another location. And all other following appointments.
The car/van loading and unloading area is always full of just parked cars that are not doing either

I wish I can give a negative star. Poor customer service, lazy employees and disrespectful manager & employees. I cant believe they were chosen to be the face of this company. We did an appointment online filling all the paperwork requested and still waited one hour just to get the truck. Then they just told me to get the truck by myself. When I asked outside to the guy with the pink hair he treated me like I should know which one was the truck. Even though I dont work there. Management is the worse. They know everything that is happening here and still dont do anything about it. First and last time visiting this location. GO TO ANOTHER U HAUL OR ANOTHER COMPANY!!!
Came in with a reservation.Both managers with the keys to the cash drawers, abandoned a girl on her first day. Then I also got 3 different prices. Was left alone in there, next to a bunch of cash drawers.. for 5 minutes.. They need to seriously work on this issue. We rent from here and uhaul over 20 times a year. No customer service what so ever. Who tf is running the place
So first off Anita and Nina were extremely Rude! I think Nina is the store manager so I had made an appt to pick up a 15’ uhaul with a Dolly and then I switched it to my husbands name after so he could get the truck. They insisted they sent us a text message we never received to do a walk through also they never did a walk through and they forgot to give us a dolly. So I had to go back and pick up the dolly no one helped me put it in the car as they saw I was struggling but the employees were riding on bikes. So I had to ask for help 20 min later. Then the next day we go to return and they blamed us for a scratch on one side and didn’t have proof bc they never took pictures before nor gave us a walk through so we asked for corporate number and were given a fake number. Then I finally found the correct number we filed a complaint and a claim and then they told claims that the bumper was messed up which was a lie because they said it was a scratch on the right side of the vehicle but when it all balled down to it they were in the wrong trying to charge over 200.00 and we had insurance on the vehicle so that’s really insurance fraud we got our case dismissed finally and I will never use uhaul again due to this I wish I could not have even give a 1 star! I do not recommend this location! They did this to my brother in law too trying to make more money and then the store manager started arguing with my husband yelling at him vs being professional and trying to resolve the issue in a calm matter.
Worse place to get your job done. poor management and the General manager is the worse. She is so rude and has no idea how to take care of customers. The one who installed the hitch, did a great job. Stay away from this store and especially from the General manager.
This place is the armpit of the U-Haul franchise. Use the one in downtown Garland, or over on 635 & Garland Road. Ive used U-Haul frequently in many cities around the country. this one, located closest to my home, never fails to disappoint. Its impossible to get them to answer their phone. When you go in person, its difficult to get help.God help you if you want a propane tank filled. Theyll blithely ignore you ringing the bell for service. You get no assistance until you go into the office and ask for it. Its like they have a betting pool on how long youll wait, and whether youll come in or drive away - not that they seem to care either way.
I rented 4 UBoxes and have been mysteriously charged for a 5th box that I have never ordered nor received. Only after spending an hour and a half getting passed from person to person who were all unable to help me in the phone did the corporate line speak with someone from the Plano store where the fraudulent charge is coming from.Instead of resolving the problem, I received a late fee notice the next day about the nonexistent box!I am beyond frustrated.
We had a guaranteed reserved they didn’t honor the $50 THEN sent me to a different location that didn’t exist, also watch for any additional charges to your card they will charge you additional days when you already turned it in. The women there are rude aside from the black girl, the guys are nice & helpful.
Rude little lady working up front. I think her name is Nicole or Nikki. at one point she even snached some hardware out of another employees hand in front of me. The other three guys were very nice.
Severely a waste of time. The general manager decides to call the police after a week prior to the false accusation of assault, they dry lied about changing the lock on the storage then cover it up saying that no lock was changed, but I have the freaking email that says otherwise😒I would rather stash my belongings on the street then to use this place ever again “SERIOUSLY “ update: but the owner was pretty cool in handling the the whole ordeal.
The truck was dirty, missing pads, didnt have a working horn and was pulling to the side (needed emergency alignment) almost got in an accident twice! Horrible service. When called (multiple times), never returned phone calls and corporate office had to intervene. Zero customer service. Horrible, just horrible!!
Rented a 6×12 trailer to drive six hours back home. Stopped to get gas about two hours into our trip...which thank God we did. I noticed the back wheel on the trailer was sticking out, turns out the axle for the back wheels was completely rusted and busted. Weve been sitting in a QT gas station parking lot for three hours now, we still have four hours to drive and my husband will barely make it home in time for his interview at 7am in the morning...all because we rented a trailer from a place that apparently doesnt inspect their trailers before renting them out....Im eight months pregnant and this is the last thing we needed to deal with....just wanted to add it is now 4:10 in the morning and were just now getting the busted trailer delivered to us via tow truck and my husband is having to sign for it!!! So much for either of us getting any kind of sleep...all I know is this was the WORST experience Ive ever had dealing with uhaul.
A great location that assisted me with a ubox. They were kind, friendly, and were easy to work with. Would highly recommend their team to assist with moving and storage.
I rented a truck for one day and gave back it to UHaul in the same day. However, the manager of the store forgot to close my case. So each day UHaul withdraws money from my account $45.05 for an extra day. I talked to the manager of the office. she told me that she would have sold the problem. But she hasn`t sold the problem yet. Additionally, she was too rude. UHaul withdraws $180.20 from my account unfairly. Until now they didnt pay yet.
They dont pick up the phone and have a bad attitude when I decided to come in..

I have used multiple haul locations hundreds of times and this one is TERRIBLE. Do anything you can to avoid this location.The service is terrible and you cannot get a callback from GM when there is a problem.
Moving is never fun and inevitably something will go wrong. My move from Houston to Dallas was no exception. By the time I arrived at the U-Haul on Los Rios, I was defeated. And then I met Greg. He turned my experience completely around. He listened to my story and was empathetic (even though hed probably heard 50 just like it throughout the day). He was patient, helpful, and kind. He helped us get everything sorted out and I truly cant thank him enough.The other staff I encountered was just as friendly. I highly recommend this location.
Awful. Went in for hitch install on qx60. 4 hours later AND $361, I left with a busted left blinker & trailer running lights that didnt work.Decided I didnt want them touching my suv again so took it to Richardson location for fix. Tech in Richardson shorted it out and suv was TOWED TO SEWELL INFINITI. Still havent heard from Heather Andrade, the Gm @ Los Rios location, multiple emails and phone calls. Ongoing issue as Im in a loaner car now waiting on their 3rd party insurance to approve fix. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH LOS RIOS UHAUL - PERIOD.

Showed up 10 minutes before closing to get a propane tank refilled. Employee refused service claiming they had closed the propane station already.
Not thoroughly impressed with the lack off communication and poor service from this location.
Kris King was awesome, worked with him several times in the past, but sadly he is gone. Made a reservation in person with a guy there for a car hauler, and said it would be fine to bring it back a few hours past 24hrs, but still same day, would only charge me for 1 day, nice. Went to pick it up next day and dealt with interim manager Rob Gentry who said oh no we can’t do that gotta charge you for a whole 2nd day. Explained I made the deal with one of his people but he didn’t care. Also there were *12* car hauler trailers sitting in the lot collecting dust, not like there was high demand or anything. A permanent manager will be replacing Rob soon I hear, Nicole. We will see if that person can be reasonable, unlike Rob.
Didnt realize that there are so many add-ons to consider for packaging items for cross country hauling. While some items are a necessity for secure shipments others are innovations for consideration when the check book has lots of pages.
Excellent customer service!The online reservation was changed from this location to another location much further away without notice. The manager onsite helped us out, changed our reservation back to them and gave us a discount due to the mess up that wasnt their fault. I cannot thank them enough for being so understanding.
I dont normally do reviews, but I felt like I really needed to today. (We sometimes lump all franchises of a company into one group. One treats us badly so we dont give our business to any of them.) I needed a U-haul trailer but dreaded having a repeat bad experience at another U-haul store closer to my house. I decided to give this one a try and it was worth the drive. I did the online check-in when I made my reservation so my time in the office was less than 2 minutes. When they tested the trailer lights, they discovered that one was malfunctioning. It was not going to be a quick fix so they immediately swapped the trailer and sent me on my way. The entire process? About 10 minutes. I will definitely return to THIS U-haul location.
Poor customer service
Even if you use the uhaul website to rent a vehicle and order supplies you still need to ensure the pick-up site has what you need. Also, if your told that there are no administrative fees for using toll roads that is not correct. There ARE fees and not all of the customer service reps are apparently aware of that fact. Not impressed with the service I received at this location.
After renting a trailer in another city and returning it here, they put an additional charge on my CC without explanation or approval. I called customer service and the rep their only had chat access to her team in order to help me. Now Im still on hold. Time to call my CC co to dispute this charge.
I had 2 storage units there for over a year. My experience was bar none. The staff was always helpful and kind and the manager, Kris, was absolutely the best. I would highly recommend Los Rios UHaul....they will treat you right!!
Well maintained facilities. You can rent storage space, vehicles, trailers, and purchase moving supplies. All in one place for moving needs.Be aware that parking can sometimes be a challenge, as the lot is quite small and most of the spaces are taken up by rental trucks/trailers.
Used to be a good place to rent equipment until they removed Kris King from GM position. Now the whole place is awful. Definitely go to anywhere but here.
I went there first week of July to scheduled an appointment for a Hitch Installation. Appointment was scheduled for Friday July the 12th. When got there on Friday, they said my appointment was for July the 15th. I though they has so much going on, and said to myself Okay, just two days, not a big deal. Next Monday they said my appointment was for August whatever ... but the manager kindly would do his best to get my work done... Finally, the hitch they ordered was not the one that fit my car. Four weeks later they are calling my number and leaving voice messages to reschedule appointment ... What a lack of respect.
Propane....was patient...rang bell 5 times about 5 min apart. Asked 3 workers to help, all said they cant do propane. Last one said woman asst. Mgr. was MIA and the only one who can do propane. Never showed up. Left after 30 min.
Steve was incredibly helpful. I have rented 3 different uhaul items this week and am in a time crunch. He laughed at my jokes and had me paid and trailer hooked up in under 10 minutes. His attitude and efficiency was greatly appreciated. A+
We came in on a Saturday morning to rent a moving truck and to sign a contract for a storage unit. The customer service provider was polite, kind, and explained everything. And the charges were fair. We will definitely be back when we move again in April.
These people are the worst business people. I watched this man and his wife get denied a trailer which they both had their identification present but they left Killeen Tx and mistakenly forgot the drivers license in Killeen. Which they just rented a trailer the previous week with out any hassle. The Aundrea lady was laughing and these were respectful and nice people. I just walked out and went somewhere else because that was ridiculous I will never rent from uhaul
I had a decent experience. Initially, I called and spoke with a reservation specialist. She was a bit pushy, and I can understand if someone else did not have a good experience if they relied purely on the rep. I decided not to reserve over the phone. I went directly to the site and spoke with them face to face. I had no problem renting a pickup truck. I only rated 4 stars due to the initial call and the fact that they were not willing to discount $3 when I loaded more gas than was necessary, but that was my fault. I would advise people to load 2 gallons at a time and check. As for a person that thought they paid more than was quoted, I did not have that issue. They were very specific about the base rate of $19.95 to rent for 24 hours plus 59 cents per mile plus $1 service fee and taxes. The truck itself was not perfectly clean, but its also not an enterprise or hertz. You are renting uhauls to do some hard labor, so just make sure that all dents/scratches are marked on your contract, confirm your mileage and fuel level, and bring it back cleaned and fueled and you should not have any issues. Check your mileage and fuel level on return. I would rent again without hesitation.
1. I was given the wrong truck than the one I signed the contract to pick up.2. When I arrived at the site agreed for drop-off, U-Haul turned me away and without letting me know ahead of time.3. I was rerouted to 4 different locations all around town for about 40 extra miles as each place kept rejecting my drop-off and referring me to another.4. I was told by the area field manager that there would be no extra charges for mileage or gas beyond the original drop-off site.5. The next morning I see extra charges on my credit card for all the extra miles I had to drive that day.

I own a wedding and event company and we have a variety of storage and transporting needs. We’ve used many U-Haul stores around the DFW area and by far this one on Los Rios always exceeds expectations. The staff is more than just courteous. They inquire about our transportation needs and help us to find the best vehicle to get the job done, but they also ask about us as people. This is my favorite U-haul and we rent from them at least once a month.As a business owner I understand the benefits of the up-sell on the side products like boxes, tape, blankets and even acquiring additional help for moving or unloading. Having it in the space where the rental reservations and transactions take place is a good plan. Creating an obnoxious maze for the client to walk through to get to the counter is not.The reception area looks crowded and it is not inviting to walk into. It also becomes a hindrance for those with any kind of movement concerns like wheelchairs, canes or even just a few bad joints from a seasoned life. For me, it makes the room look unprofessional and disorganized. It doesn’t create an environment of convenience or necessity which is where the best up-sells take place.There are also a variety of safety concerns. Children running around the room can’t be seen until they whip around a corner. The first one can be regulated with good parenting, but sometimes that isn’t available. At the same time as an adult my inner child was screaming for me to jump through the “box wall” like the Kool-aid man yelling Oh Yeah! I am an adult, so I refrained. You do have cameras around building, but those are an after-the-fact documentation. There are many blind spots in the space as it is designed now and theft is easy to do. Especially when you’re walking to the counter and there’s a wall of boxes between you and the employees. But putting safety aside, it hinders with customer service. I can’t see if someone is available inside for me to ask a question or walk in to make a reservation unless I complete the cardboard course and the staff can’t see me when I’m waiting inside.This is my chosen store not only for it’s convenient to my office building, but because the staff make you feel like part of the family and are truly connected with their clients. Their store succeeding is also good business for me. I’m a firm believer that when clients come into a great business and are treated with customer care and not just service, they appreciate those helping them and will return. Happy customers praise and are thankful for great employees at said business. Employees who feel appreciated and enjoy their work become loyal to that establishment. Loyal employees create the positive drive that keeps a company thriving and creates a great business.To summarize:The store is wonderful.Employees a great.Get rid of the damn box maze.
USE A DIFFERENT LOCATION!! Husband reserved a auto transport the night before we needed it, was suppose to pick it up right before they closed the following evening. Instead they called us 30 minutes before they closed, when we were 5 minutes from their location, to tell us they gave our reservation to someone else and that we needed to go the Dallas Parkway location which was about 20 minutes further out of our way. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Unbelievably pleasant experience! Normally, car and truck rentals are a tortuous ordeal, but not at this Uhaul location. We rented a trailer to haul furniture across DFW. Lane made the pickup process totally painless, helped out hooking up the trailer, nice guy! Return was even smoother, Lane and Jeremy had us out of there in under 5 minutes. I would highly recommend this location to anyone needing to store or move. Very reasonable prices and a totally no-hassle process. Blown away!

BEWARE when renting a truck from this location. They said I had more gas in the tank and less miles on the odometer than I actually had. Thankfully I photographed the fuel level and mileage prior to exiting the lot. They charged me for 60 miles I did not accrue. Disputed with my credit card company after repeated attempts to resolve the matter through management went ignored. Would not recommend this location to anyone.
Kristopher King was absolutely the man. I came in for a hitch and he jumped on it right away. He found exactly what i needed at a very fair price got my truck in and got it knocked out quick. If you are in need of anything from uhaul i would strongly suggest going to uhaul on plano parkway and los rios in plano ask for kristopher he will get u what you need and have you in and out in no time. I know i will not use any other uhaul facility. 100% two thumbs up Kris. Thank you for the pain free and excellent experience.

We rented a pickup truck for 2 days. On the 2nd day while moving furniture in the back the furniture broke the glass window between the cab & bed. There was half the glass still in the window & half had fallen between the cab & bed.They were shown the window & suggested we keep the truck & return it by closing. When we returned it they did not know how much they would charge us for the window. Next morning they told us it was 700 dollars they would charge us for the window & that was above the rental cost. We called around & the cost of a window is about half that. They said they did not have insurance to cover the window repair. We paid it but 700 is a little high. It happened when having to stop at a red light.
BEWARE! The have a policy of overcharging. Check your mileage. Ive rented trucks and trailers 20-30 times from other U-Haul locations and never had a problem. Ive rented from here twice and both times they overcharged on mileage. I disregarded it as clerical error the first time but the second time I brought it to their attention. I told them that the mileage on paper didnt match the truck mileage before I drove away with the truck. They gave me lip service about changing it but I insisted on getting something on paper since it had happened before. They responded but handwriting the mileage on the receipt, so I tell them that its not acceptable since its not in their computer system. After 15 minutes, they finally print something with the corrected mileage but the paper looks very fishy, like something about it was off. Anyways, I use the truck and return it and guess what? The mileage is wrong. Got overcharged again. #$%# these people. Take your business elsewhere!!!
These greedy people will start charging you late fees the day after your bill is due. So be sure you pay your bill ahead of time. Your bill wont post until the exact day its due so it makes it hard to pay early. Its a dirty trick to make an extra $15.00 a month off of everyone!!!!!!!
