I am on the fence..it really depends on how they resolve my issue when i talk to them tomorrow. The customer service is awesome- they are helpful & knowledgeable. However, I took my car in a little over a week ago. I spent over $700 to have it serviced. One of the major items was the engine coolant system. The car ran great that first week. Then, out of nowhere it started smoking and leaking coolant. If there was a leak I think they would have seen this, made me aware & see how I wanted to proceed if it would cost more $$. Which they did when they noticed that one of the wires on the engine was split. They contacted me and let me know the best route to take regarding servicing options. Who isnt skeptical of mechanics- you always hear nightmare stories. I felt like I was in good hands and was pleased with the services I had received prior. I am interested to see what tomorrow brings. Hopefully, I will be eating my words!

Went to get my car (2015 Volvo S60) inspected here and they failed my car and gave me a whole laundry list of things that they said needed to be tended too. The most urgent thing (and what failed me) were my rear shocks that were leaking. The list they gave me totaled out to $1000+ (around $800 for the shocks + alignment alone). I took my car to the Volvo dealership to have the service department look at it. I showed them the whole list that I was given and they said the majority of the items were unnecessary and then they also said that my shocks were not leaking. If you want to go somewhere that will tell you your car has unnecessary issues that cost large sums of money then this is your place!

7/16/2020I have been to this location one time which was today. And when I say I had an amazing experience I mean it. I was on my way into work when my car began smoking. I currently work in the healthcare field so we are on a all time high demand. I was able to call Triple A and have my car towed to the Western Blvd location. I was amazed with the service provided to me. Rob who is the General manger was able to quote me an amount just to get started along with keeping me updated with text message to help better accommodate me during work. When the issue was found he kept me updated and barely had to speak with me via phone as I advised him it was easier for me to communicate via text. When my car was ready and I went in to pick it up they took all the precautions they needed for COVID along with providing me with a full list of other recommendations for my car. I advised Rob that I would now be bringing my car to him for ALL OF MY CAR NEEDS! I highly recommend Rob and the Western Blvd Triple A.Again Thank you Rob and Western Blvd Triple A.

This review is actually just for a phone experience. It is always so hard to get car places to answer the phone and when they do they try to disconnect as quickly as possible. I called to inquire about battery availability for my vehicle and the woman who answered was courteous enough to check through the inventory and try to determine what battery would fit my car and see if they had it on site. With a disabled car, driving around to different shops isnt an option so its great to find out ahead of time if the battery is available before you take it. I did not end up taking it here but it was a great experience and I wanted management to know about it.

Naturally, I left to get a second opinion, and it turns out all 4 tires are in good shape to pass inspection (and 3 of the 4 were in excellent condition, one lower, but above passing). He was convinced not to have the car towed to his 1st choice, but to allow AAA to tow to their facility, with the promise of a discount. He was told the engine was blown and the block was cracked......along with a laundry list of other problems. My husband called and spoke with the mechanic, who estimated $10,000 for repairs. When my husband told him the car was not worth that much, he immediately said he would reduce the price to $7,000. I called AAA and requested the car be towed to my hometown ($384 tow bill) so our mechanic could estimate and repair, and the operator immediately began questioning why I was not allowing AAA to repair, to which I responded by stating I didnt trust them. When my car randomly stopped working (it wouldnt turn on), I called triple A because of their towing services and car care center was very close to my apartment. They were very professional and did get my car working again but two weeks later my check engine light came on. I wondered why they went in and did not fix all the problems in the first place. I took it back to them and they claimed it was fixed the second go around but a week later the check engine and brake light was back on. All these repairs cost a huge amount of money and I finally decided to go to a different (lesser known) mechanic and my car is fixed for a 10th of what triple A quoted for the third time I needed to fix the same problem. For routine repairs such as oil changes, and little tune ups, I am sure they are good for that. The minute you need serious repairs please dont waste your money. They are grossly overpriced and incapable of definitively detecting the problem with your vehicle! I felt like their mechanics were just randomly guessing on what the problem is even though they had their tools and I saw them use it! The staff is very nice and professional but niceness does not fix cars and I have wasted my last penny on this company. I hate giving bad reviews but this time I am fairly justified.

Like all commoditized service businesses, it’s the people that make the difference. In my experience with AAA and Wayne over a four year relationship with four different automobiles (Mercedes S 500, Lexus, BMW, and Maserati), I have found the staff to be very responsive and fair about all diagnosis and repairs. In particular Wayne has always done his best to make sure that I was satisfied. When I have been out of town he has made sure that my college daughter’s car was safe to go. I can also remember times where he tried for several days to figure out what was wrong with the electrical issue on the Mercedes. There were so many modules and issues that he finally consulted with the Mercedes place, and at no cost to me resolved it because he felt like it was his error.I would highly recommend this AAA service center to anyone in the Raleigh area.

Dont have many good things to say about this place. I only have one data point and it will be my one and only visit. I had to have my car towed here last summer. They diagnosed the issue as a faulty fuel pump. Right after driving it off the lot I noticed my fuel gauge wasnt working. It was recommended I drive around until there is no more gas because there was actually a second fuel pump that was the issue. Not sure what the plan was supposed to be while driving my tank to empty but I never had the chance because my car didnt start the next day. Ended up bringing it to my local mechanic in Chapel Hill to fix it after another attempt with AAA. Long story short, misdiagnosed issue was compounded by a price that was double what other autobody shops were priced at. I hoped to recover expenses for some of the issues and after every attempt I was met with phone tag/run around, and eventually, an offer for the diagnostic fee to be waved. I never did receive the money back for the diagnostic fee.Maybe I just had a bad experience; but, I would never recommend this place to anyone. I would also suggest everyone who continues to go here to get a quote or a second look from another place.

Was told after the diagnostic that I had a cracked engine block and needed a completely new engine at a cost of $4800. They told me labor would be 14 hours and therefore a total cost of $7500-$9500. I told them I needed a day to make up my mind and look for someplace to get a second opinion. I had to go out of town for the weekend and when I tried towing my car to a different mechanic they wouldnt let me until my diagnostic was paid for. Then once it was paid they would not release it until I was back in town... even though they charge per day to have my car on the lot. After working with an AMAZING mechanic (Kenneth at Kennan Auto Repair) it only cost $2650 to fix my over heating issues. My alternator went out on my car and I was out of town and couldn’t fix it myself. Had it towed to this AAA service shop and they did it for me. The parts were my concern of being over priced, the labor not as much. I noticed my car making a rattling sound about a week after they replaced the alternator. When I popped the hood and examined where the noise might be coming from, I noticed they hadn’t put the serpentine belt back on correctly. The belt is supposed to run under the crankshaft, over the idler, and then under the ac compressor. It was installed running under all three causing the noise and could potentially cause my new alternator to fail. Installing a serpentine belt might be one of the most basic repairs. My advice to the technician would be to either look up a diagram next time or go further his/her education in car mechanics.

AAA used to be good.I went for a oil change in early May for my car. On their suggestion I got a vehicle inspection done as well since I was up for registration renewal on Jun 30. The oil is changed fine and after a day or so I realize they did not fill in the windshield fluid which has been a regular practice with oil changes since I could remember. I let it be.On Jun 30, I start the renewal process online and my car records would not pull up. On closer examination I realize they put the wrong license plate number on my Inspection Report (they just dreamed one up). Now I call them on July 1 to report the issue and I am already late for renewal at that point. I am told they would need to do a re-inspection to correct the issue and I would need an appointment. The only time on July 1 is during middle of the day and then early next morning. Since I cannot leave work and go in the middle of day I pick up the option of going in on July 2. Then during middle of the day AAA calls up and says actually I do not need appointment and can come in whenever. I am at work and not carrying any documents so that is no help at all.Now I do go in on July 2 morning and I was made to wait for about 45 mins. My car was not pulled into the bays at all and then they just gave me a new inspection. If it was not required to be in the bay I wonder what the 45 minute wait was for. I also requested them to put in the windshield fluid and they confirmed it has been done. Well I drive away and after about a couple of miles realize there is no windshield fluid at all. I call them and had to go back to get the fluid filled. Not sure how they confirm things without actually checking if something has been done or not. When I tried to get the registration renewed online I noticed a late fee of $15. So I personally went to the DMV to see if it could be waived for AAA.. They could not do it. So I called AAA to talk about the late fee and they say that I would have to get some service at their location to have the late fee adjusted. They cannot give me credit. My car is about 2 years old and has no outstanding maintenance needs. AAA wants me to come in and then they will find some work that could be done on the car to adjust the late fee. Which means I would have to go back in and invest some time with them.So for their own fault, and after spending about an hour already with them I am out of money and would need to spend some more time to find some work to be done on the car. All this inconvenience which could have been avoided if AAA was a bit more professional.I would still give it 2 stars instead of 1 just because employees are courteous but stuck with ridiculous AAA policies. I would advice them to be a little more professional and diligent in their work. I would never do business with AAA again if this issue is not resolved in a timely fashion. It has costed my enough time and frustration already.

But they insisted me to do the full diagnostic $109+tax. I had nothing to do rather agreeing to their decision. Next day I called them & they said they charged the battery but it is not working need to replace the battery. However, they did not do the full diagnostic. I said, the battery should work cause it is not dead. Then I went to their place & they asked $348 battery + $75 installation charge. I did not agree & they reinstalled my old battery & said car may start now for short time. I agreed to that & paid $85 for just recharging the battery. I did not get any work done on my car because they were too expensive. They are in a college area but their prices are not for college students. I was going to get charged more than $300 for a tune up alone when I went I got it done for 100.The customer service was great. The people were friendly but I will not be returning there when so many other places charge less for the same work and parts.

WARNING: PLEASE TAKE THIS REVIEW SERIOUSLY. DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP.LONG STORY SHORT: They overprice, make up random damages that you have to fix that scale up into the thousands. They cancel warrenties for next to no reason. And if you know enough about cars to prove them wrong, and decide to take it somewhere else, they will outright lie in order to charge you for labor. DO NOT GO HERE. Take it somewhere else, anywhere else. The AAA membership discount is only 10% on ONLY LABOR. This literally saved me 10 dollars on the thousands of dollars they trumped up. Dont go here!I have never received such horrible service. The guy in there named Adam is a loose cannon, and he may hurt someone. Please take this seriously.I know a bit about cars, and I check with a local mechanic that works on cars for fun in order to cross reference things. I came into the store telling them that my starter was messed up. We dropped it off at 4PM on Friday and they said they would be able to look at it by tomorrow. Since I knew it was the starter, I asked for a quote on the price, which I was given. I asked if they could take the starter out, and would I have to pay labor in case I decided to get an outside part. They said this was fine and in order to take it out, I WOULD NOT BE CHARGED. REMEMBER THIS.Keep in mind, in order to fix a starter it takes about 1.5 hours. They did not look at the car until 3PM on Saturday. The problem occurs when they finally got around to pulling out the starter. They claimed they took a look at the fly wheel and saw that it was damaged. Now my car is a 2006, and my flywheel had rust on it. For cars that is fine. But the part that they claimed was damaged did not have rust on it.. as if it was RECENTLY just shaved off. The metal looked entirely different. And I had a dent in my car. So now I am super suspicious. They quoted me around 1000 dollars to fix everything. The flywheel was BARELY damaged, so I just asked him to fix the starter for now and I will fix the flywheel later at another shop. He said he couldnt give me the warrenty on the new starter if this was the case because the flywheel could give out at any moment. True, in the future, but not now. I was confused as to why he would back out on that, but I decided to take it to another shop. This is where the issues start. The new guy (not the manager, who told me I would not be charged) said I would have to pay ALL of labor. I told him I was not told this, and in fact I was told the opposite. He was very pushy about charging me full labor, to the point where he was just outright rude. He was slamming around papers and his mouse and keyboard as we talked. He would scoff and huff and walk away for a moment, only to angrily walk back. He reminded me of a three year old throwing a temper tantrum. After arguing (or me talking in a low voice, and him raising his voice) he allowed us to take the car without labor cost, but told us to never come back to the store. I was entirely cool with that. My car is now at a different mechanic and they said my flywheel has minor very recent and suspicious damage, but it is fine. I will be charged only 200 dollars as opposed to the 1000 price tag the AAA store wanted to charge me.

My car broke down, so I signed up for AAA membership on the spot and had my car towed here. The towing fee got waived, and the mechanics at this center did a diagnostic check over my vehicle. They gave me a fair price on a coolant flush, although unfortunately, this didnt solve the problem of why my car wasnt starting. On the second trip I attempt to make after getting my car back, it doesnt start. My car started for them while it was at the garage, so they werent able to really speculate on why Ive been having trouble getting it started. Because of that, I dont think its their fault, but I do think more testing could have been done as well as a more thorough speculation on what was actually keeping my car from starting. I had my car towed to a different garage literally two days after getting it back from this one, and even after AAAs diagnostic exam, I didnt have the slightest clue about what was keeping my car from starting.

Tried to charge me $1500 for $500 worth of work. Dont go here. Theyll tell you that you need work when you dont. Acted more like salesmen than mechanics. While on the phone, they wouldnt tell me the exactly what was wrong (this is how I knew they were lying) and then every price they quoted was different and never the complete, out-the-door price. Incredibly rude when I told them I decided to go somewhere else for the work.

First - girlfriend goes to get a battery replacement. They quote her over $100 more than where she ended up getting it down the street. Then - I write a bad review and get a phone call saying please take down the review and theyll give a free oil change, made a BS excuse as to why the battery was quoted so high but i thought ill be nice and take it down. I wouldnt want leave a bad review with someone who called to right their wrong. Now - a week after my girlfriends free oil change the car starts having problems.. humm.. not to mention we told the guy we just got an oil change and he said it sure doesnt look like it and changed it for us for free.Overall - this place is not good. Listen to the reviews (not just mine) dont bring your car here.

I went in for a oil change with free tire rotation maintenance package for just under $18. Sounded like a good deal so i added a wheel balance to the work order which cost me $30 extra. They did the oil change just fine, but did not actually rotate my tires and performed a wheel balance check rather than removing the old weights and rebalancing each wheel. I was given a list of recommended services which totalled $1500. One of which was a $400 wheel bearing replacement/repack job which i didnt need. Just an adjustment/retightening of the loose bearing which was mechanically sound and full of grease. A $40 repair performed by a mobile mechanic.

I am looking at these reviews and wondering if they are for somewhere else? I think some general AAA, or other location comments are mixed in, as this location hasn’t been open as long as some of these reviews. This location opened shortly before January of 2016 at the end of December in 2015. Something is definitely wrong with the reviews here and this is why I am writing this.I have been getting service at this station since right after they opened. I recognized some of them from the AAA service station I went to beforehand. The other station was permanently closed for over a year before this one was opened, so the reviews can’t be from there either. This review is for Western Blvd. Raleigh, NC.Between the two stations they have serviced every need for over 130,000 miles on my Chevrolet S10. In that whole time I only had one problem with a prior (fill-in) manager regarding a bad part that ended with a resolution to my satisfaction. That was at the previous location and a while back. They have always been fair with me even in that instance. There was one time where I had to have the oil pan replaced. The quote I received I felt was way too high, so I went to get quotes elsewhere. A dealership quoted me almost 3 times as much and other places were almost 2 times as expensive. I also confirmed that it needed to be done. Some had no warranty unlike AAA, which I think is 24K/2years on most. I ended up getting it done at AAA and have not had a problem since. I still get quotes before I have any work done and that way I know what to expect. If they find something else I get a new quote and way the options. There is a pamphlet I grabbed recently that has the prices for most standard services you would get. Here is an example of a huge problem I went through and how AAA ended up fixing someone else’s bad work. One time I was driving and my radiator finally just went. Being literally near a dealership with the help of some nice passerby’s, we pushed it in. I figured save my free towing if we needed later in the year. This Chevrolet dealership “fixed” my radiator. They shoved the wrong radiator in, messing up the lines to the transmission cooler, or rather didn’t connect them at all! The radiator was crooked and not level because the dealership tried to pass off a lesser radiator than the OEM radiator they charged me for. After failed attempts to get them to fix it and my truck being hit twice in their parking lot, I refused to have them “fix” it anymore. I brought it to AAA and asked if they could possibly fix it. After talking with the mechanic, I had the transmission cooler taken out and replaced it with the regular factory transmission line. The mechanic showed me what it looked like after he finished and I finally breathed again. Other than the fact I was stuck with a cheap radiator from a place that ripped me off, AAA had put the rest of it back the way it should be.Another time I stopped by to set up an appointment and the Service Manager, Steve, noticed my taillight was out as I was about to leave. He swapped it out right then instead of letting me drive around with out a taillight.Yes, sometimes you have to pay a little more for a warranty on quality parts with people you trust. My 14year old truck has over 200K miles on it and runs great. I get compliments all the time after people find this out. My point here is if you take care of your car it should last. I expect my truck to make it 250K or more before the costs of servicing it starts to outweigh buying another vehicle.Bottom-line they have always done well by me at Western Blvd. and I am a loyal customer because of it. I will always go to this one first as I feel the most comfortable with them. In addition, the extra AAA discounts from being a member also add up both with car repairs/service and trips. There is certain comfort in knowing if something happens on the road away from home there is usually a Triple A around.

Every time I have taken my car here, the staff has been very helpful. The reason why they will continue to get my business is because of the story below:My wifes cars A/C would randomly stop blowing cold air, the compressor was still running, but there seemed be no cold air. I took it to this location and they looked at it and said that the pressure was low and that it was missing a little bit of refridgerant. They topped it off and checked for leaks and returned it to me (after a reasonable fee). A couple of days later it stopped working again. I took it in and left it with them for several days. They could not get the car to reproduce the issue, so they bled the system, recharged it and tried again. Still no luck. Because of the amount of time they had it they gave me a free oil change and did not charge me for any of the diagnostic work. The car worked fine after the recharge for a couple of days. I brought it back a third time, and they finally got it to reproduce when they had it hooked up to the monitoring equipment. Unfortunately, they did not know why it was failing still. They had a couple of guesses, but said that I would be better off taking it to the dealer where they would have more experience with this type of corner case. After taking it to the dealer, AAAs thought of what was wrong was correct. The dealer fixed the issue (because it was already there and mostly dismantled) and I have not had issues with it since.Because of the persistance and the fact that AAA spent far too many man hours on my car without charging me for all of them, I will continue to go back to this store.
