Exceptional customer service! Rented a storage unit that ended up being too small and not only did they switch me to one that was bigger but they noticed that I should have gotten my first month for free because I moved across the country. They made the whole process very easy

This review is for uhaul policies. If you’re more than 3 minutes late, they cancel your reservation and rent your truck to someone else. I wish they would have said this when I was making my reservation, plus no notification of cancellation. Next time will look into renting from other companies such as Budget rental.

Avoid this place at all costs. AWFUL communication and customer service. I ordered a hitch over a month ago and they cancelled my appointment 2 times because the hitch did not arrive. I was told many different stories such as the hitch would be ordered over night (never was), was back ordered, than finally was out of stock for 4-5 weeks. The entire time the staff was unfriendly and not helpful. Save your mental health and go somewhere else.

Was disappointed with my experience. I was moving to Reno from out of state. I reserved a Uhaul storage unit 2 weeks prior to moving. I called and verified my unit the week before. The day I arrived the front desk agent told me they did not have a unit for me. I had to scramble to find something else. I would not recommend a storage unit from this establishment.

I’ve been renting a unit here for 5 -6 years now and really have no complaints other than the fact that they raise the price on me every year. A bit pricey. I have had a few experiences with renting pickups for small in town moves and probably won’t do that again. Once again price! Hidden fees everywhere. My things have always been safe and the review I read on here earlier about rats and bugs .... not true. I’m a rodent a phob and I promise you I would know if there was a rat problem there. I go to my storage several times a week.

I had made an appointment to get a hitch installed on my Rav4. I was asked to come in earlier than my appointment time because they werent busy that day. So, I rushed to get myself and my 9 year old out the door, and rushed all the way from Spanish Springs to get there. When I showed up, no one knew I was coming, and the part wasnt even there. So, I headed back home discouraged. This wouldve been a bad review, except that the manager, Joe, went above and beyond to fix it. He scheduled a new appointment, gave me a huge discount on my hitch, installed lights for free, along with other things. He is so incredibly awesome! I would definitely recommend them, because if they make a mistake, they go above and beyond to fix it. Thats GREAT customer service!! I will definitely be back!!

This place is completely unprofessional. I made an appointment to have a hitch installed on my vehicle. When I arrived I was told that they were overbooked and would not be able to install my hitch today. They absolutely refused to make it right. Not only did I have the appointment set up, but they had charged my credit card for the service. The owner tried to excuse the situation by saying that he had called to inform me that they were overbooked; however, they called while I was driving to the appointment. I will not be using their services again and I cannot recommend this business to anyone. There are lot’s of other U-haul dealers in the area that are much more professional. Go with them if you prefer not to be screwed over.

Jaxon is a great, professional, and friendly employee. He helped me with my truck rental/move-out and I couldn’t have asked for better service from him. However, Tania is rude and so unprofessional. She was talking negatively about other customers as I was standing right there after she had got off the phone. Using cuss words and just had no baring. Maybe it’s because Im young so she thought it was ok? What really made me upset: I was moving out of my storage and Jaxon had asked her to remove the lock on my unit (the lock was placed there because I had an incorrect lock type according to their policy) and she asked him “are you sure she is all caught up on her payments?” She just assumed I wasn’t up to date and it was more than insulting. I have had the unfortunate experience of having to deal with her multiple times and she is unfriendly, rude and disrespectful each time. She shouldn’t be allowed to work in a customer service setting because she clearly has no training or respect.

AVOID THIS PLACE I REPEAT AVOID THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU ENJOY GETTING RIPPED OFF! So I rented a cargo van to make a trip to Sacramento and back, and that’s exactly what I did, Sacramento and back, that’s about 282 miles round trip. Well they charged my card an extra $217 and tried to say I put over 700 miles on the van. I had the pleasure of dealing with this “manager” Joe. At first he only agreed to refund me $14 lousy dollars. When I told him I did not drive the van 700 miles and I wanted the full $217 back he said he would investigate it further and call me back within the hour. Three hours later I have still yet to hear anything so I called back. I had to call back five times before I was able to get ahold of him and in the process he had people tell me everything from “Joe is not available” to “Joe is no longer employed with Uhaul.” Finally I reach Joe and he gives me more about how I put 700 miles on he van and he refunded me the $14. At that point I asked for a District Managers number and he told me “I don’t have a district manager and if I want to call corporate I can call the 800 number.” So I called the 800 number, asked for a district managers number to which I was told again Uhaul doesn’t have a district manager but there was another 800 number for regional management. When I called that number I was transferred back to Customer Service. Also something interesting that happened, a few days after I told Joe about himself there was fraud on my account. I can’t prove it but how interesting is it a couple days after I had a disagreement with the “manager” of Uhaul who had my card information there’s fraud on my account? I’ve used Uhaul many times and have never had a problem until I used this location. NEVER again, and I will certainly NEVER give this company a credit card again. The day before I rented a 20 foot truck at 3411 S Virginia Street, paid cash money and had no issues what so ever. Pay CASH for your Uhaul if you must get one. It can be done.

I hate this store. Unprofessional communication. First, it is impossible to reach anyone at the specific store you are working through. Upon arrival, they took my keys, told me two hours for a trailer hitch install and three hours later had not touched my car... without even a phone call to inform me that I had longer to wait (with my four year old in tow). Manager, Joe Abasta was not available to discuss and the kid and the front counter was clearly overwhelmed by a line of customers. Lost my business, for sure. Won’t be returning.

Possibly the worst storage co in Reno.My whole 2bdrm house was stored with them for a month and half, i followed all rules about there being no food inside, everything wrapped that we didn’t want to get dirty. Yet, everything was still covered in dust,dirt and bugs. Rat poop EVERYWHERE. In my shelves where my clothes were stored. Everything was damp from water leakage. Safe to say we threw out the whole storage. It wasn’t even nice enough to donate. So gross.DO NOT STORE YOUR THINGS HERE!!

I have used UHaul Double Diamond for my storage and rental needs for eight years. The facility is clean, climate-controlled and very well managed.Today I cleared out my unit and was walking to the office to close it out when two employees, Will and Jaxon, intercepted me and got me taken care of efficiently and professionally as usual.I highly recommend this UHaul facility.

Great customer service! They really went the extra mile to try and help me when another uhaul location completely failed. They apologized many times and did their best to try and remedy the situation. Unfortunately they couldn’t help me on such short notice. The other location never even said sorry for their mistake. A word of advise to anyone wanting to do business with uhaul, use this location. You won’t be sorry.

Rented a truck for the day there. They gave me an old truck and charged my card $75.00. When I returned the truck a few hours later the bill was about $43.00. The guy that checked me in said the balance would go back on my card. After 2 weeks there was still no balance refunded. I looked at my receipt and it said they gave me a cash refund which wasnt the case. I had to call 5 times to get this taken care of after a month they finally refunded my card. It wasnt the money, but the principle - will never rent there again.

I had a reservation for a trailer for my son to haul some furniture to the Bay Area for me, and the trailer was ready when we arrived. The nice guy who hooked up the trailer realized that the brake lights werent working - so we tried another trailer. Same issue, which meant that the problem was with our wiring harness. He and my son did some troubleshooting, and determined that this was indeed the issue.They had a wiring harness kit in stock and had our truck fixed in just over an hour. Very courteous, nice guys all around, and the price for the repair was cheaper than if we had tried to do it ourselves.I cant remember all the employees we dealt with today, but there was Dakota, Nick, Joe (maybe!) and the manager whos name started with an A ...I wish I had written all their names down to thank them personally.Thanks for a good transaction!

I chose this place because of its climate control storage. Sounded nice and safe for my vintage collectibles for 1 month so I could move into another house. Well what do you know the roof leaks in areas and my stuff got wet! From rain!! Climate control room leaks water on my collection?? Im very very angry. After being told to fill out claim forms, and being blamed for not buying the insurance, I just said forget it. Give me a refund for the month? Nope. Nothing but attitude. Thank god I had a bad feeling about this dump and grabbed alot of my very expensive items out a week prior to this, bcus I couldnt take the pressure of leaving it there. I knew something wasnt right!! They are very lucky I was smart enouph to get my best stuff out bcus I would of did more than just leave a bad review if u catch my drift. FFFFFFF this place. BAD REVIEW.

I want to write a very positive review about U-Haul in Reno. The workers were very friendly and went above and beyond what was expected to make the hitch fit my van. They had to do extra work and were very nice about it. It is a very comfortable, friendly place and I will send my friends there for rentals and hitches. Excellent experience and fair pricing.

I just want to share my unnecessarily bad experience attempting to get a hitch put on my car at U-Haul. The system for setting up appointments and ordering parts is NOT functional. I ordered a hitch and parts online on Sunday and used the website to make an appointment for Monday (which was available online). Monday, the store I ordered the hitch to (did not call me, I called them) couldn’t fit me in. I then called the online number given for South Reno store and the person I talked to transferred the hitch to that other store and set up an appointment for 10am. I drove from Truckee to South Reno (45 minutes each way) only to find out when I got there that they have the hitch but not the hardware. I stood there waiting 30 minutes while the very apologetic “hitch guy” vainly called around to other Reno stores to find the hardware to be able to install my hitch. No one had actually checked with him whether he had the necessary parts. I lost a total of two hours of work, drove my car 80 miles and will have to do the same yet again to actually get the hitch installed. If the person on the phone at U-Haul had told me he actually had zero idea whether the parts or hitch were available at the store, I would never have spent all that time and miles on my car. How does it help the customer to set up appointments that have NO bearing in reality. Dont put any value on appointments made.

I had an unexpectedly great experience with this location-- I rented a truck for a quick appliance move in town. We drove under 15 miles, but then we were charged $30 for a fuel fee and about $30 to put fuel in the truck, even though we had put in 6 gallons ourselves. I wrote a review on the Uhaul website stating it really wasnt fair but we werent going to make a big deal about it, and the next morning without any kind of formal complaint the manager had emailed us and issued a $50 refund. It was unexpected and I would absolutely recommend this location to anyone looking for Uhaul/moving services in the area.

I reserved a 15 foot truck online to pick up on a Saturday morning at 7am. The website suggested I use self-pickup since lines can be long so I did. When we got there, there was nowhere to park and the site for self-pickup was buggy and slow. By the time we found the truck the site told us was ours, the site was taking FOREVER to confirm so my husband ended up going in anyways. About 20 minutes wasted there.Once he went in, they told him the truck the site allowed us to reserve was broken down and there were no trucks available for that day at that facility or any others in the Reno area. Bear in mind were 35 minutes in by now and have droves of family members from out-of-town waiting at our house to help move. Finally after about another 15 minutes, they found that another customer dropped off a truck last night we could use, but the tank was almost empty so before we could even begin we had to get gas.Id found a deal online for locals that was $29.95 + $1.09 per mile. We were going 76 miles round trip so that would be $82.84 for a total of $112.79. After you add in taxes, insurance, and all of their ridiculous fees, the total I signed for was $153.71.Come to find out, they charged me again an extra $8.38. When I called to find out what that was, a lady named Debbie said they ran my card for $162.09, but my receipt says otherwise. Tried to explain that to her and she continued to repeat herself about 4 times before I finally gave up.Not only will I NEVER use this facility again, but I will NEVER use Uhaul again. Disgusting excuse for customer service and not willing to do anything for all the inconveniences they caused us and our families. Something that should have been smooth turned out to be a complete nightmare.

Horrible experience with this uhaul site! We booked a reservation of a trailer to return at a different location. We were told the staff person was giving us a deal because they didnt have the equipment we actually ordered at the facility so he told us that we were being given the in town rate but could return at the location we selected which was in another city. When we then went to return the equipment we were told that they had no notations about this and that we would be charged an additional $113 for returning it at a different location. After two hours on the phone with Uhaul corporate and several managers we agreed to just pay the $113 because by this time if we went back and picked up the trailer and then took it to the original pick up location we would be charged anyone for it being late and coming in several hours after the return time. Corporate advised us they would be relating the information to the original location that the trailer was returned to a different location.Then on Monday (three days after the return) I received a phone call from Anna who advised she was the reservation manager at the corporate office advising that we still had their equipment and needed to return it immediately. I advised her of what occurred on Friday and that after several hours and multiple managers on Friday they assured us the original location would be notified. Anna advised there was nothing notated and when I asked to speak with a manager she advised me that none would be in until tomorrow. She claimed to be the corporate office and that there was no supervisor available on a Monday. Because of Uhauls complete incompetence we are now back on the phone for several hours with Uhaul. Uhaul is now telling me it is my responsibility to request that they pull the call from Friday to verify. AND only specific people at Uhaul can do this and Ive now been on hold again for several minutes just waiting for someone to answer.

Awful service. This location burns through personnel every 3 months or so which is quite telling since workers are choosing to be unemployed (Reno the highest unemployment rate of any city in the US @ 11.7%) rather than work at this location. Ive had the misfortune of dealing with the general manager of this store on more than one occasion in the 1.5 years Ive rented a storage unit from this location. I have found him rude, uninformed of the processes associated with the business he manages, and too proud or unwilling to seek an intelligent or appropriate answer. In my three interactions with the GM I distinctly recall being walked away from as I asked a question, and today, I was hung up on when I asked a question to which he had insufficient information to answer. The next time I encounter rude conduct from this location I will contact the BBB and uhaul corporate. My recommendation is to avoid this location if at all possible.

Horrible I will never ever uses this place again. We rent a truck from them and we left an item in the truck when we returned it. I called a 3 weeks later and asked if they have found the item in the truck the lady on the phone said yes but she had to look for it and she will call me back. A week goes by do I decided to stop by and ask in person on of the guys works said he say that the item I was looking for. He looked for five min and of course came back and told me he couldnt find it now but he saw it a few days ago. I ask how long they keep items found in there truck and was told that they didnt know. I ask when the manager would be in they said a week vacation. So I called in a week asked for the manager hey said he saw the item and he need to look for it took my number down and again never called me back. This place is a disgrace to uhaul name and what uhaul stands for. If you ever leave an item that is worth anything you will never get it back. They will give you the run around for weeks it took me 3 weeks. AGAIN DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING IN THERE TRUCKS YOU WILL NEVER SEE IT AGAIN.

We rented a truck which was guided in total almost 7 miles. When he left to deliver they notify us that they were 33 miles which is no way. When claiming they tell us that we do not verify the milege before. That they are sure that is. This is very easy to somebody lying and its not me. The sad thing is that we told you to verify Camara which at your convenience does not reach where the bus is. It is sad to know how to steal money and you can not defend .. It is not even money if it is not knowing that there is an error or someone is cheating
