I was very worried about rental a trailer here from the other Google reviews. Christian was super nice and it took little time to get a motorcycle trailer. The overall experience was super positive.
Supervisor is young and on a power trip. While in store waiting to pick up our uhaul she put a customer on speaker and was talking down to him and being so rude. I honestly feel really bad for the poor guy stranded in Utah- he was being very nice a patient despite her not wanting to help him or give him a number to call for someone else to help him. Very unprofessional leadership!
DO NOT USE THE 24/7 feature! I used the truck 24/7 feature to pick up at 9pm. I’m a professional virtual assistant so I can handle my way around most virtual services - this service was by far the absolute worst experience.We got dropped off at the UHAUL and tried to log in to secure our truck which gave us “no reservation” so I ended up called customer service. On the phone with them OVER AN HOUR… and still had to LEAVE to purchase a hotel because we COULD NOT get a truck.Furthermore when it asks for “additional contacts” BEWARE it literally calls them right then and there. Considering I entered my mom who was in a timezone two hour ahead of me, UHAUL called my mom at midnight . So many tears later….do not rent. Literally still wiping tears off my face as I write this. I was supposed to be somewhere else tonight but because their feature is so hard to use, I had to purchase a hotel and stay right here.Buyer beware

I am not one to post negative reviews, but U-Haul is the exception. We made a reservation on May 8th for a 20 foot truck for a one-way move on June 3rd. Under the reservation it said something like we cant guarantee your reservation at this time. We will contact you to confirm. Last week, I called to check on my reservation and see if we could upgrade to a 26 foot truck. The lady said no problem, and that our reservation was confirmed and there would be no problem confirming a 26 foot truck for us. She said that they would call me on Monday May 31st to double-confirm the week of the reservation.Fast forward to yesterday, June 1st. I hadnt heard from them so I decided to call and make sure we were good to go for our reservation. The lady said that the 26 foot truck was no longer available, and neither was ANY TRUCK OR TRAILER WITHIN 300 MILES. In other words, 2 days before my move, I had to call them to find out that I didnt have a truck. Thank god I decided to call ahead of time and didnt show up the day of my move to find this out.PLEASE use this as a cautionary tale to double, triple, quadruple check with these people. They will make guarantees that dont mean anything. We had a great experience with Penske. We spent a little more money but the extra few hundred bucks was SO worth it to not have to go through U-Haul. Holy moly, these guys suck.
Worst service, I had the truck for 20 mins I went less than 2 miles in and they charged me full tank of gas and a dolly that I did not use because they only had a broken one, this place is a joke and the employees are less than helpful!
I visited this store a number of times over the past few weeks to buy moving supplies. Every time I dreaded it. It is not a well-managed place, and customer service skills are lacking. Some employees seem to be overwhelmed while others ignore long lines. I watched more than once as employees walked around, went into the break room, chased their children, all while customers waited, often in long lines.
This location is not managed properly. We made a reservation in advance, arrived early, completed online check-in on our phone, and still waited in line for over an hour just to pick up our truck. When we finally got to the front of the line, the staff were incompetent and unprofessional.
The manger is amazing! And the gal who works at the front desk was wonderful!
Wanted to buy one item. Had to wait until someone filled out a contract, hooked up a trailer and went thru light checks before anyone could ring up a 20 dollar item. Poor customer service
No Dolly was available, only a 1/4 tank of gas, the clerks kids were there running around like animals. Her face mask was filthy. She was screaming at her kids the whole time. Poor kids!! Truck was clean, but it would have been nice to have more gas.
Horrible experience two different times. They cant be bothered to even greet you let alone do any work. Not prepared. No answers. Make you wait forever just tti tell you they cant help you.Oh and they NEVER answer the phone! Had to go there in person, wait around for 30 minutes to find out they cant help me.
Got a trailer hitch put on my jeep Aug 19th 2020. They left a wire on my exhaust pipe. I took it back saying something was wrong with hitch due to making noises and rattling. They supposedly fixed it but didnt. I drove to Hixson TN uhaul to drop off trailer. The guy in Hixson had to completely reinstall my hitch. Reno uhaul wrapped my wire around my exhaust hanger, my hitch was not bolted and put on right. Dont ever go to uhaul on Virginia st to get a hitch put on.
There are so many terrible reviews on here so I was nervous picking up a trailer at this location but I didn’t have bad experience at all. It was quick and easy. The employees definitely lack customer service skills but hey, I’m just picking up a trailer - I don’t need red carpet treatment.

Joseph gave our reservation away and it was not available when we showed up, he said too bad he will just delete our reservation so he “doesn’t get in trouble” do NOt go to this uhaul!!! They are scam artists now I spent money to come to Reno and took time off work to make sure to move at this time and I’m now screwed and they don’t even care. So do not trust them go to Penske or any other moving company possible!
I reserved a truck and joe sept gave it away twice! When I told him I rreserved it and was calling the manger he said he was canceling my reservation and cussed me out. And said “ I won’t get fired watch me” absolutely unacceptable!!!
Completely awful experience. Watched two girls change the ink in a printer for about 25 minutes while the line piled up behind me. They delayed my scheduled hitch appointment by two hours, and then took another hour just to tell me I couldn’t install the hitch they said they would. I hate to say it, but whoever is running this branch, is a complete and utter moron.
I’m never using this location ever again. They all sit in the break room just doing whatever, while we are all in a line waiting. A lady said she would be right with me and I’ve been waiting still for 30 min. They will walk past you without saying a word.
Wow, no wonder 87 reviews and mostly negative! U-Haul should just close this place down and it is just a shame to the brand. 1st time, there is just one on the counter and it took me more than an hour to get my truck. 2nd, there are 3 with 2 others ignoring customers something in their screens. Then the one attending to the customer got a phone call and then finished business with the caller to the frustrations of the one on the counter and those in the long line. Wait, that’s bot the best part yet. Got a confirmation for a trailer and did the internet check in. Only to be told my booking is bot available and should go to UHaul some 60 miles away or call their one department myself (yeah, they can’t be bothered by their own boo-boo) so I can look for nearest one available. Never again
DONT USE THIS LOCATION. DONT USE THE ONLINE SERVICES BECAUSE THEY DONT WORK.Ive TRIED to use the online services twice with this location. They dont work, dont even bother. So after waiting 15 minutes in the sun waiting for a robot to approve my application I decided to go in and have Jared Vega help me. He had to restart the application three times, reverify my drivers license and i had to process my card several times. Jared said he would give a discount for the hassel, he didnt, he must have forgot. Its fine, i didnt need one.I asked 3 or 4 times if it was OK to drop off the vehicle after hours and Jared said yes or I can hold the vehicle and drop it off before 5 pm tomorrow. This wasnt possible for me as I work until 5pm. So I dropped it off at 730pm just 30 minutes after closing. I WAS NEVER TOLD I WOULD BE CHARGED $20 OVER NIGHT FEE. It was never told to me after how many times I asked if I could drop off after closing. Why is there a fee? After I had to deal with your online services not working AGAIN. After I was told I would be given a discount. Why would I read a contract after your online services was running me 30 minutes late? Why dont your employees WARN people? So you can get an extra $20? Dont use these guys. Theyve screwed me over twice now.
On 08/17/18 I placed my order to have a hitch installed on my car on 08/18/18 in the afternoon. This is the only day I can do it. The day of installation I got a phone call from the store stating the employee that does the hitch installation called in sick. It is not the ideal situation but it happens. I have it rescheduled for 08/25/18 in the afternoon. On 08/24/18 about 3.40 pm, I received a phone call stating they do not this particular hitch in stock. They could express order it for the next week. Obviously this store does not they your time and/or money seriously. They will call you nonchalantly with a day before installation that is supposed happen on the weekend saying they do not have the part. The store had 2 weeks to figure it out. Any proactive Manager of the store would go in the back of the store and look and the parts needed for at least a week worth of installation schedule. I understand that is inconvenience to get off your chair and actually do something. I used a U-Haul store in Carson City on Williams Av. before. I seems like a far better choice.

Has very large inventory. Folks at desk were knowledgeable and quick. This location is farther from my house than 4th street location but the experience is far superior so I always go here.
They way overcharged me for fuel, didnt have the truck ready and were very unhelpful. I explained to the person who checked in the truck that I didnt drive more than 5 miles, yet they charge me for a half tank of gas. DONT BOTHER WITH THIS LOCATION AS THEY ARE THE LAZIEST U-HAUL I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!
They installed my sisters trailer hitch wrong had to get it fixed in Hixson Tennessee by Casey. Whires were to long wrong and the bolts were wrong and loose. while we were going across the country reno to Chattanooga could of came loose and may of killed us
Have used the Moana/s. Virginia St store a dozen times. I usually walk out saying never again. Then time passes, I forget and go back to them because theyre in my neighborhood. They crossed the line yesterday. Took 45 minutes just to get a small trailer. Next time, I drive the extra 10 miles to home Depot for trailer rental. Enough !
This guy (SPENCER. the location General Manager) is a REAL JERK! We brought in about 20 reusable U-Haul boxes to donate for reuse/recycling. We also had about 6 new unused boxes to sell back. This guy offered ZERO help to unload and carry in the reuse donation boxes. This guy also declined any help in looking up on-line recent contracts and our U-Haul box purchases, and said that box buy-backs are only made when the original printed receipts are presented. We had done over $6K in U-Haul rentals and purchases just this year, and this guy is going to treat us like this! He is the moose-glued red head in the photos! Avoid him! We ended up dumping our brand new unused boxes into their reuse bin. We have done business with U-Haul for 30+ years and we have never before had an unpleasant experience with a JERK like this. No more! Shame on U-Haul corporate for hiring, retaining and even promoting a guy like this!

I came in, trailer loaded, to return some boxes. No less than 8 uhaul employees watched me struggle with a pile of boxes to return. Watched me all the way to the door, where I had to put down the pile, pull open the door, pick my boxes back up and enter... Only to be told by surprised people, that I needed to leave, unless I was returning boxes. Once I stated that I was, well I need you to leave and come back in the morning then. Apparently they thought they had locked the door, and were going to wait for my struggle to unfold, until I left. What a bunch of class acts.
We have used u-haul several times, and this location, we have used three times...we rented a truck for 24 hours, we had 99 miles round trip which we were charged for when we picked up the truck.we asked what the charge would be if we were late and was told there would be no charge as long as no one was left waiting for said truck and they have a grace period. she checked and learned the truck wasnt due out again until four pm and we were to drop it off by noon, so it wouldnt be a problem.we got to our new house late at night and there was no power. so after unloading everything in the dark, we drove an hour out for a place to stay for the night, leaving the truck in the driveway, so as not to put more miles on it.we drove an hour to get back, and at 11:30, i called to let them know we would be late getting back. the return time was updated to two pm, and i was charged $30. the girl told me the store would refund me upon arrival.we arrived a little after two, they refused to refund us, the guys at the counter were jerks about it, rolling their eyes at me.we were tired and stressed and $30 seemed like a lot of money in that moment. it was incredibly frustrating.point is, nobody cares. i get it, but when a company cant even pretend to care, thats a problem.we wont be using u-haul again, not if i can help it.
Had a 7am reservation to pick up a trailer, did the pre check-in the day before so we would be ready. Ordered a trailer and moving pads. Nobody showed up to hook up the trailer. We finally ended up doing it ourselves. Had to go back inside to get someone to check it off and supply the trailer light cord. Waited even longer for him to come out - the guy working outside was “missing.” Finally completed that, got on the road and realized they never gave us moving pads. Called 10 min later to get a refund for that portion, nobody at the location will answer. Even the main customer service line could not get in touch with them. We were the ONLY people there at 7am. TERRIBLE customer service.
I give the uhaul a 3 but guy working the counter nicholas 5 stars there was a guy in front of me in line trying to argue store policy but he was firm and polite. When he helped me the store was pretty busy but he was still polite. Good customer service .

Because of burning man they wouldnt rent anything or make a reservation even though they had vehicles available. The dispatch center put a hold on everything until burning man is over. All the other moving companies in the city were the same story. Now my things have to sit in the street over the weekend until I can get a truck next week. Talk about a flaw in a business model. Thanks for false advertising and promises.
If you rent during burning man festival its only 24 hour rental. We had to load up and return the u haul fully loaded just to rent it another 24 hours. Crazy.
I had to move my entire household and originally booked a truck with Budget in advance, only for them to tell me they didnt have any trucks left the morning I was supposed to pick it up. I found one at Uhaul that same day for the same price I expected to pay at Budget. Thanks Uhaul for saving my move and my day! What a huge relief 💜
Pathetic customer service. Very unhelpful representatives. I came in with a confirmed reservation and spotted the 9ft Cargo Van outside in the parking lot. The representative behind the computer refused to give the vehicle.P.S. If there was an option to choose 0 stars I would have chosen that for this site/location.Disgrace to U-Haul. Stay away folks!
Ended up paying 113$ too use a 17” for 5 hours. First off the staff did not go over the contract in person besides saying they will check fuel and mileage before you leave well the fuel was high than the actual gauge so had to wait for them too fix that than they bring back the same slip of paper but crossed where it should be which was not reprinted with the correct fuel. I than later into my rental I needed to know if someone could return the truck for me well I called the local # 825 4495 waited finally got a live person and was told she was going to send a message too the location I rented from and as long as I went back before my ending time of reservation at 5pm I could refill the fuel. Well mind you when my friend returned the truck he was told to just leave the keys on the seat. I came back in person at 4pm to go put 10$ in gas In it and was told my card was already charged and they would have to recharge me a full rental fee I reserved this truck untill 5pm moving is stressful I had a friend drop the truck off and was told I could finish my obligations by the end of my rental time 5pm. Ended up being expensive very hard to contact this company and won’t use them again I was told I can file a complaint too try and get the extra fees returned.
Wouldnt waste my time with this location, when moving to Reno, my U-Boxes were delivered to this location, basically wasted 2 days waiting for someone to just use the forklift to move them. No one seemed to care, tried renting two ubox trailers to move my stuff to another location, and had a reservation, one was non-operational and the other wouldnt be available until the afternoon. Called UHaul Corporate multiple times, and nothing was done. UHaul lost a life long customer with this experience.
I reserved a trailer for 530 pm for 24 hours. I called the day before and told them that I wouldn’t be able to have the trailer back by 530 the following day, so I would like to pick it up later. I was told 745 was the latest I could pick it up. Upon my friend arriving they said that if I could not have the trailer back by 4 pm they would not rent it to me. So originally I rented it for 24 hrs at 530 yet they set up another appointment at 4 pm (these guys must have missed math class). I spoke with gram or grant don’t remember his name but the whole time I spoke with him about this issue my friend said he sat there and rolled his eyes while speaking to me. Very poor customer service and I think these people should be fired for not scheduling right, I did call and got it fixed, but I know there was another very angry customer who didn’t get a trailer at 4pm because of their misscheduling.
I showed up on my scheduled appointment day and found out my parts werent here and neither was the installer. I showed up the next day to get my install done being told Id be first in line after the complications. I arrived to a rude installer already working on someone elses vehicle. He told me his appointment was at 7 today and I reminded him that mine was for 7am the previous day. Instead of being helpful, he told me he had to handle the current days appointments before he could deal with me. I asked how long hed be and he told me 30 minutes to another hour. Needless to say, they have delayed my moving by two full days now. I am livid.
If I could give negative stars I would. We needed a hitch for our bike rack that was being delivered and our new bikes (yay!). Called and scheduled an appointment for 430pm on Tuesday (sweet!). Took the time off; got a call at 330 Tuesday stating they moved our appointment to Thursday at noon because the installer was leaving early. Uhh, well, I work and that does not work for me, plus I took time off for the scheduled appointment. Asked for a different time and was told they couldnt scheulde it, but they left a message for the installer to call me back (still waiting on that call). Went into the next day days and scheduled a hitch placement for Saturday (today) at 11am after verifying parts were in stock. Get there and was told Hold on, we need to make sure we have the parts (no biggie), then the installer comes out and says the car Im working on is giving me trouble, could you come back at 1230? (Sure! No problem!). Get a call at 1215!!!! We dont have a hitch for your car. I can order one and put you on the schedule for Tuesday, does that work?. After expressing my frustration with the situation was again told they would call me back (still waiting). By far the worst experience. At this point I dont want them touching my car. Theyve proven their incompetence numerous times to me.
The supervisor was nothing but rude, uncordial, had no other answer but no for everything. Instead of finding a solution to any discrepancy anyone had, all he would have is an excuse. I will never return to this store. I will probably never go to uhaul again. Put me on a Black flag list for renting over 10$

My experience at this U-Haul was okay, except for one big thing. But indeed it is a doozy, so my overall rating is poor. Not that you want to accidentally lock anything in a returned rental vehicle to begin with, but with this U-Haul location you better be DOUBLY OR TRIPLY CERTAIN NOT TO LEAVE ANYTHING IN A RENTAL, AS THEY WILL NOT BOTHER TO SECURE IT when they ready the vehicle the next day, and theres a good chance your property WILL BE STOLEN (unless you pick it up the instant they open the next day).The guy I was working with had prematurely locked the van and tossed the keys in before I could stop him. I wasnt able to return for the property locked inside until noon the next day, but they already had my property (bike) sitting out front totally unsecured for hours. Apparently their standard means of security (for their property) is to keep video surveillance on at all times. David is the manager at this location, and claimed both because of this, and supposedly that people were around watching, meant my property was secure. First, no surveillance will necessarily PREVENT a theft. And it presumes the thief can be tracked down... all it takes is for them to wear a ski mask, and no one will have a clue as to their identity. Second, no one was watching my property. When I came and picked it up, no one even looked at me funny, or hardly noticed, and they had no way of knowing it belonged to me. Also, they have a ton of empty space right inside the rental office area. My item would have occupied an insignificant spot, not at all in the way. But do you think they would bother hold it for me there for a short while, where it would actually be secure... indeed not. In the end, only dumb luck saved me from this loss.They have every right to use the type and extent of security they see fit with their own property, but not with customer property, and certainly not where customers object to the inadequacy of it. If this happens to you, how bad this location is about this type thing, you may want to consider breaking in to get your property, if the theft of it would cost more than paying for a broken window. I explained the above to David, but he argued with me and refused to even acknowledge the simple facts. I explained the importance of my property, but he didnt care. He refused to agree to the principle of any simple precautions that cost them nothing, and will continue to do the same in the future. This is the MANAGER of the place, and yet COULDNT CARE LESS ABOUT THE PRIME CONCERNS OF CUSTOMERS. Another employee was all too willing to jump on board and agree with him. This is a perfect example of rock bottom despicable customer service. This U-Haul location doesnt deserve ANY customers!
We were told this would be our drop-off location and they refused to accept our uhaul and were pretty rude to us. Deeply upset
These guys are great. I called and asked if they knew a way to test the light plugins on the back our new pick-up truck. Jacob told me I could come on down to thw shop and he tested it out for me on one of the lot trailers. He didnt even ask if I was renting from them, he just did it to help me out before my road trip. Im definitely renting from Uhaul when I get to Oregon just so I can return it here and thank Jacob.

These people are the best! Approximately 3yrs ago they installed a frame-mounted trailer hitch on our crew-cab Nissan Frontier p/u at a very reasonable price and we were very pleased with the results. Today I towed my kayak trailer to the same U-Haul location here in Reno to seek help on why the trailer running lights were not functioning. U-Haul Technician Scott solved the problem less than 10 seconds (blown fuze). He even knew where the spare fuzes were stowed on our 2013 Chevy Avalanche! Did not bill us for his time. I highly recommend this U-Haul facility.
The uhaul location at Virginia and.moana has a team worth talking about they.go above and beyond to meet customers needs, very impressed we with Joe hes a hard worker and is really on his job. Keep up the good work you guys.
Just because you send me a bill for x amount of dollars doesnt mean you are entitled to it. You know I was overcharged for my rental, and now Im stuck disputing the charges because of your employees lack of communication. Not to mention lack of professionalism. You guys really need to pull it together and stop trying to rip off your customers.
I would give this place negative stars. Last week called and ordered a hitch for my jeep and set up an appt for sat at 8 am for install. Dropped the jeep off at 8 and was told it was a 3 hour install. Should be done by 11 am. Tried to call and confirm the hitch was installed but got routed to call centet. Drove over at noon to pick up. Not done. Tech said it would be another hour and a half before he was done. At 2 tried to call and confirm it was done. Routed to call center again. Drove back to uhaul at 2:15 still not done. Tech said another hour. Waiting the hour in the parking lot. We were supposed to pick up a trailer at 2. Not happening :( of course the gm is gone for the day. Left him a voicemail. No response. The response from the person in charge is too bad. We are working on it now..... Really????? 7 hours to install a hitch???? Never again!
1st thing that went wrong, is they lost my reservation.2nd thing, called to extend time cause they told me I would only need an10ft truck for the number of rooms that I had, but my movers needed two trips.3rd charged my card with out my authorization. I was on the phone with the women from customer care, she was like you have to pay 37 bucks. I said ok let me get the card that I want it put on (different from the card that I made the reservation on) and she says that she already charged it. I asked her to refund and she said no. Talked to the manager and basically was told tough luck. I will be filing a claim with the better business bureau, this is illegal.Horrible service.
Geez, where to begin... Ive been here twice in a month. First time, I waited 15 min to make a $5 purchase. Thats ridiculous but I could get over it. We have used uhaul moving supplies to move several times. They are good products and guarantee to buy back any unused boxes. This is great because you can over estimate, get free shipping, and return the unused items locally.I did this, had $40 worth of boxes that I didnt need. I was going to be in Reno anyway which is 45 miles from my home and the closest uhaul center. I went in to return the boxes. I waited 10 min only to be passed off to another employee who spent 30 min trying to do the return and then gave it back to the first employee who spent another 5 min and told me he couldnt figure out how to do it.He offered store credit...I said sure, I can pick up a few other things. He then said it would take 24 hours which was worthless because I wasnt driving an hour again just to use a store credit, not to mention Im moving in the next month.Totally worthless staff, steer clear. Uhaul is a decent company but this store is terrible!
I had a bad experience with getting my propane tanks filled by an untrained worker. Not his fault that he was put out there, but its unsafe and also my tank was not filled. I called and left a detailed message for the manager to call and never got a response. Wont be going back.
This is the third time over a 3 year span where our reservation has been screwed up! I will never do business again with UHAUL! They suck and so does the staff at Moana! Corporate needs to do something! I’ll be writing to the BBB for sure!
Worst experience! I booked two moving trucks to move my office in Reno. I received a text message confirming my reservation for the next day in Yuba City? I called and was informed that they over booked, so I would have to pay three employees to drive to Yuba City, pick up the trucks, pay for the fuel in all three vehicles to drive back to Reno to move. Oh, but they were kind enough to waive the mileage! Complete joke!
They didnt do a good job putting in my trailer hitch. That could be forgiven, but the overall attitude of the employees is the shittiest Ive ever seen in the service industry. Specifically the hitch specialist Cameron lahsl. Inconceivably rude and disdainful. Inexperienced and apathetic. Did not seem at all concerned that he essentially installed a safety hazard on my car. Never ever using this place again. Never using uhaul again because of this experience. Every single employee at every uhaul Ive ever been to acts like their job is a huge chore and a burden and this Virginia st location is no exception.FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE.

Absolute worst experirience!!! Rented a truck for one days use. I had returned the truck the same night and was never told to put the keys in the door slot for the store simply to throw them in after locking the truck. I proceeded to throw the keys into the truck as I thought I had been instructed.(I assumed that they had either a back up set for each truck or some sort of master key.) Returned the next day to get my refund for my cash payment which I did not get as they had to call someone to unlock the truck before they could check in the truck. They offered to have me wait until they got there, but I had to be at work in an hour and didnt have time. A few weeks went by before I had time to go back down to the store, during which I was charged and extra $400 for the truck and six days tacked on to my invoice! I called the store to verify that I was not recieving this email in error. I was told that they would need to look into the matter further as they werent sure on their end. I was called back within a few minutes and told that it was no error and that indeed I did have the truck for a week. I told Steve that I had my original invoice and it said nothing of the sort. My original invoice states my 7 hour rental quite clearly. He said that he would have to look into the matter further and that he would have to call me back. Hours pass, still no call, so my girlfriend and I decided to just go down there. When we got there I was passed off by one individual to the next twice as no one wanted to deal with an already pissed off customer even though I remained calm until being helped by the third person. I was then told that the charges were no ones fault, but my own but that they were going to help me out. Quick hint guys never make your customer feel as though it is them that is in the wrong, its just bad business. They cancelled my extra charges in their system and I had to pay $1.30 more just to get out of there, which at that point was fine by me. I thought that I was done dealing with this until I awoke today to find a new email with a past due invoice from U-haul for the $400 in my inbox. Appearantly disorganization runs from the top to the bottom in this company. My time and money is precious to me and they have wasted both and left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Dont waste either with them, they will treat you like an inconvienience at best. Sure the miscommunication was half my fault, but I dont appreciate being treated like a nuisance especially when I am paying for a service.
Made an appointment 2 months ago for this morning to have my trailer brakes taken off my VW and then to have them and a new hitch put on my BMW. For some reason they changed the appointment to Sunday and said they did not know how to do the work. The hitch I had ordered had not even come in. I live in Battle Mountain, 3.5 hours from Reno. I had to stay at a hotel last night that cost me $117. I had to turn in my VW today for the VW diesel Buyback, so I lost the braking system and got nothing from Uhaul, not even an apology. The young man running the place had a poor customer service attitude, like he didnt even care. I have gone to Uhaul since college in the late 70s, and the first time in 40 years I had a terrible experience.Very very disappointed,David Peters

Use your credit card with U-Haul at your own risk.This location needs to get its act together. I reserved a truck, dolly, and auto trailer for a 22AUG2015 move.First, they called me days before my rental asking if I wanted to pick up the truck ASAP because they didnt understand the pickup date on their internal paperwork. Why would I pick up a Saturday rental--using my 3 days of having the truck in the process--on a Tuesday?Next, they gave us a truck with parts falling off it. We were told that they would epoxy the weather stripping on the drivers side door of the 17 truck back in to place. The whole thing eventually fell off during the trip. I changed my mind about towing a car through the mountains behind the truck and they said they would remove the auto trailer I reserved from my order before I left their office. I got a call from a regional Fresno office several days later (29AUG) asking why I didnt return the trailer. The trailer that never left Reno. I kept getting a well look in to it from the representative; she couldnt seem to make any headway and 1-2 hours became days.Today (01SEP2015), this location ran my credit card for $130 in late fees for an auto trailer rental to Detroit. Detroit is over 2,000 miles away from my moving destination. The reservation for this rental was made 25AUG2015, three days after Id left the state, during a time where I was unable to use a phone or the internet. I called the regional representative to ask why I was still being charged for an auto trailer. She said she couldnt help me because Detroit was out of her jurisdiciton and gave me the Reno regional customer service number. The Reno regional customer service rep--who sounded an awful lot like the lady trying to get me to pick up my rental truck three days early--said she couldnt help me and that she couldnt help me file a complaint about this location. She passed me off to a corporate customer service representative. This agent was a bit more helpful and understood my concern about being charged multiple times for equipment I never had. She claimed that the refund for the original truck rental was in process; Captial One begs to differ. She claimed the credit card processing department was down and that I had to wait for a general manager to contact me before a complaint or refund could be started on the most recent charge. I was ok with having to wait until the representative suggested that someone might have just happened to have my credit card number and just happened to go to the same U-Haul and just happened to rent a trailer.
Busy, but got my trailer fairly quickly.

If youre planning on coming here on a weekend make sure you get here early. Waiting an hour in line to pick up your truck is not the ideal way to start your moving day.
