Dr Lauren Rubin is THE BEST! She is the perfect blend of having a warm and friendly personality and being the consummate professional. My husband, kids and I are all patients. She makes us feel at ease, takes her time, and explains everything to us.

I had to wait 6 months to get my frames. Every time I called I got told to wait a few more weeks. The doctor here is nice and very professional, but I wouldnt order lenses or frames from here again.

Bad Experience!!First I need to say that Dr. Vaziri is a great doctor, and this review is for the vision center only. I have been a patient of this practice since 2018 with some great experience in the past. But this time, unfortunately, it was totally different and really bad. I ordered a new frame with progressive lenses that due to some mal measurements we had to reorder the lenses and decided to also change the frame. So we placed a completely new order again, and they said it would take 2-3 weeks to receive it. After more than 6 weeks and several calls, they kept telling me that the lenses are still in the lab and they didnt pass the inspection (how many times?) and every time I called, they said next Monday. And now they say lenses are ready, but the lab has broken the frame and they need to order another one. So, I decided to cancel my order and ask to refund my money. Now I have to go and find a new place to order my glasses. Sorry, but my experience was really bad this time, and it was nothing even close to what we got a few years ago from your center.

The entire staff is caring, knowledgeable, understanding. Dr. Vaziri really takes her time to listen to your concerns and addresses them. My vision has improved over the last year because of her recommendations. I recommend them to everyone I know.

Had been a prior patient with Dr. Rubin for years before I moved. :( She was great and very through with her eye examinations. With my eye condition, she actually recommended that I not undergo lasik because of the higher possibility of increased blindness. She does great eye examinations for glasses and contacts as well as recommend special care for unique eye conditions.When I moved, she recommended another great optometrist in my area and her office is very helpful in transferring my medical information to the new doctor!Ill miss her, but if you are lucky enough to live in the area, definitely see if shes in your medical insurance network!

Great service Ive been with them for years and never had a complaint. The Staff is very friendly and always remembers me by name and even where I go to school.Update: After 9 years, still great!The team at Shady Grove Eye and Vision care is fantastic just as I remembered. I left for a while since they werent in my network but could not wait to go back once I realized they were in my network with my new job. I love what they did with the remodel and the staff is ad friendly and efficient as always. It had been 9 years since my last visit but there were still familiar faces in the office that still remembered me after all that time. I always feel like I am getting the best contact lenses currently available for keratoconus patients. Quality of life has improved tremendously due to the solutions offered here. I had a very negative experience with SG eye and vision care. I bought a pair of glasses from them in December for more than $500, the glasses I picked up were damage (the frame had some faded color) damage in January. Ive showed them the problem and they said ; Its fine we will reorder them for you and they should be ready less than a week. I waited almost two weeks called them and they said there is no order for you, we probably just forgot to submit your order. The person AGAIN told me that it would be ready with a week. A week past called them again.... they said the factory out of stock and they cannot reorder it!! They told me this after more than a month. Just FYI every time I called there was no note about my situation in their database and I had to explain the whole story over and over. Finally I was devastated and I told them I wanna return my glasses, and I will be in your office with 20 minutes. The lady became stress out and said no I cant do anything for you call tomorrow and talk to our manager. I called them three times and asked for their manager and ALL those three times they told me she is with a client, you can leave her a voice mail. They never called back. I feel this a scam and I am truly angry about it. Will go to their office to see if they respond finally or they continue being ignorant and rude.

I met Dr. Glazier in Jamaica while on vacation and he recommended that we check him out. We have been going to him regularly for our daughter and our experience has been wonderful. It is generally quite easy to make appointments, and the doctors on staff are very nice and courteous. They make it easy to deal with insurance as well. In the past I have had to file claims myself, which is not the case here. I highly recommend the practice.

I have been going there for routine eye examinations for the last 3 years and find them to be highly professional. However, the recent one was not so pleasant... a bit rushed through the exam, attendant was curt and they were trying to oversell glasses. Just need to continue to keep customer service in mind as there are lots of other vision care centers.

Although I’m happy with the eye exams themselves, I find their glasses to be way overpriced even with my “great” vision insurance. I need to repeatedly ask for my prescription which is frustrating since it should automatically be given to me. Let customers decide for themselves if they want to buy your glasses.

In my 2 annual visits staff were consistently relaxed, personable, and thorough. Dr. Glazier is all of the above and an outstanding practitioner. I spent almost no time waiting from start to finish. The waiting room feels like a living room with large couches in a bright, open space. An easy 5.

The doc at the eye center was very thorough and did a good contact evaluation. BUT the late policy at the center is hypocritical. I had an appointment at the shady grove office, only to arrive late. The would not see me. On a Previous appointment, I waited 37 minutes in the waiting room when the doctor was late to see me. How is this any different? Solution: I should have been given the opportunity to wait in the lobby in case there was an available time to squeeze me in. I was there for a contact follow up and simply needed a prescription for contacts. Very disappointed. This policy over shadows the doctor’s ability.

This is the first negative review Ive ever written on the internet and I do not use these words lightly. This company is comprised of dishonest, wallet-draining leeches. They smell desperation like vultures. If you live in the area and have way too much disposable income then by all means go here and be impressed by their rococo waiting area. I was told by sales I was buying a six months supply of daily lenses, went to pick them up to find out they made a mistake and it was only 2 months worth. I was nearly out of lenses, and was fitted for the most expensive lenses available, which I didnt realize until they shipped them a week later and discovered the aforementioned supply size lie, and had to visit again even later, out of contacts, to switch brands after I found the true cost at the end. I was told there were no more trial lenses in any other type, which I found out was a bald faced lie after talking to the receptionist afterwards, who paged the doctor who then checked in the back for another weeks worth. Before that the optometrist RECOMMENDED I wear the same daily contacts for 7 - 10 days. This was after expressing issues with pain in one of my eyes, for which they said nothing and tried to refer me to a plastic surgeon friend of theirs, for an issue unrelated to the pain I complained about twice. You have better and MUCH less expensive options for lenses and frames than they would lead you to believe here.I would love to see a boilerplate apology or any attempt at a rebuttal to my review. I avoided hyperbole specifically so that each of my claims was demonstrably true. There are tons of optometrists in the area. I wish Id done a bit more research before simply picking the closest.

My husband and two kids have been going here for 6 years and we love all of the doctors. The new office is beautiful and the selection of eye glasses is great. They truly care about their patients and take time with each patient. They are also great about popping in and having glasses adjusted with no wait. Highly recommend Shady Grove Eye and Vision Care!

Dr. Rubin is a professional through and through, and I have yet to experience an eye exam that is more pleasant. She is caring and thorough, and speaks candidly and honestly, giving good advice and opinions. Her practice is small but comfortable, and far more inviting that the sterile cookie-cutter environments offered by the big chains out there. She has taken great care of my eyes and offered products that are improved and of higher quality when possible. She and her staff are friendly and caring, and I make it a point to put my vision solely in her care.

The staff at Shady Grove Eye and Vision were all very friendly, helpful and professional. Dr. Hernandez was one of the most thorough Optometrists I have seen in a number of years. She did not rush through the eye exam and took time to answer my questions while giving in depth answers and providing literature on possible solutions to my existing eye problems. I recently stopped by (I had no appointment) to have my left eye checked out (it had been irritated for about a week) to see if I had scratched it or something. I was seen immediately by one of the techs, and then by one of the doctors. Both of them were very friendly and thorough in their examinations. I left with a clean bill of health and a sample bottle of artificial tears to deal with the discomfort due to dry eyes. I even got the optician to adjust my glasses while I was there! Great staff, great service, and great office environment!

Dr. Glaziers Shady Grove Eye & Vision Care office is an excellent optometry practice. Ive only seen Dr. Glazier (not any of the other optometrists) and have been completely satisfied. He diagnosed and corrected a medical issue with my eye. Also, he gets my glasses prescriptions right.He has a staff of highly competent opticians to help you pick out and adjust your glasses. They will take their time with you.The rest of the office staff is friendly and helpful.Overall, my experiences with Shady Grove Eye & Vision Care have been excellent.

The problem is the optical department. Overpriced and transaction oriented. I found the doctors and their technicians to be knowledgeable and very patient oriented.

The practice is awesome (with ALL ages). The staff is caring and knowledgable. Ive been going to the practice for years. Dr. Glazier is great. In July 2011, I purchased my first pair of progressives and was somewhat disappointed that I was having trouble adjusting to them. I mentioned it to Stu, who works there, and with one slight adjustment to my frames, I was not having trouble and now extremely pleased. They have taken the time I needed to make sure Im happy. ****UPDATE****Today I went for a follow-up appointment with Doctor Glazier after being prescribed eye-drops for which I stopped taking because it didnt work and also made my symptoms worse. Instead of him listening to me, he became defensive, ARROGANT, and combative. If you are looking to have a partnership with your doctor that’s willing to work through problems together - this guy is not the one youd want looking out for you... he is arrogant, doesn’t think he can be wrong and does like to listen.

Dr. Glazier is the best. This year, I had a hard time finding the right contacts for me and my lifestyle. Dr. Glazier thought out of the box and found ones that work great!! I have been seeing him for decades (literally) and saw his father before him.

Ive been going to Shady Grove EVC for almost 15 years. I have always had extremely bad vision (both myopia and astigmatism). Because of this, the contact lenses that I use are generally on the bleeding edge of technology.. Dr. Glazier is always well educated in the latest and greatest lens technology. Moreover, because of my vision issues, fitting contacts to my eyes is not a cut and dry process. It can take several lens trials to obtain the lens that best matches my vision. Dr. Glazier is very patient optimizing and retesting/reordering my lenses until they provide me with the best vision quality. Sometimes this may take four or five visits to accomplish this. I think sometimes people think that ordering contacts and glasses is like ordering fast food. For many with better vision, that may be the case, but for me and my vision challenges, Im very grateful to have someone like Dr. Glazier and his staff available.

I cant rave enough about this place. My last eye doctor changed practices and I decided it was the perfect opportunity to look for another. The office is soooo pretty and immaculate. It says a lot about their attention to detail and care. The front staff is the best! I love an office that has knowledgeable and caring staff. They are not rude. Dr. Lauren Rubin is a sweetheart. You can tell that all the doctors care.It is more expensive but I gladly pay for the service and care.

Excellent service!! From the moment I walked in the door, the support staff was there to warmly greet and assist me! The eye doctor was able to see me immediately, and their Optician Daysi, the Optical Floor Manager Deborah and Greg were all of excellent assistance to help me select my new glasses! Although the eye doctor was excellent, working with the Daysi, Deborah and Greg truly made this experience fun and worth all the while! I highly recommend!!

Their customer service is the worst I ever experienced. Once i called they left me on hold for an hour. A week ago, i called them, they told me they were going to call me in few minutes, i’m still waiting for that call. They also made me wait an hour thirty before the appointment.

My daughter had an appointment scheduled, but they made us wait an hour after she was scheduled. They said it was due to an emergency appointment, so their schedule as pushed back, but all of the other patients had arrived later than we had and they went into their appointment before my daughter. Not pleased.

Dr. Rubin and her staff are the best! They gave me a free set of contacts to accomodate the fact that I ran out before our appointment. My fault. Not theirs, and yet, they made it their responsibility to ensure I was taken car of. Im not sure what else you could expect from an eye doctor.

Eye doctors in Rockville are all over the place. You can get glasses or contacts just about anywhere now (even Walmart!). That said, what you cant get anywhere else is an optometrist who will treat you with the respect, care, concern and professionalism that Dr. Glazier and his team will give you.Over the past three years I have been treated with nothing less than the honest concern one would expect from a health care provider.Hats off to Dr. Glazier and his entire team.

Our whole family goes to Dr. Vaziri; she and the staff are great! My kids actually look forward to going to the eye doctor. The staff gets us in, sees us one after the other, is patient with all the little hiccups that come with kids, and generally keeps everything moving. The kids love the eyewear choices and each of us has a 30 min. appointment (and it really takes only 30 min, or less). Love the wonderful customer service, and I got a great referral for my glaucoma as well. You will not be disappointed.

Dr. Wendy Rothman has been my optometrist for my entire life! When she to Shady Grove Eye & Vision Care, I and my entire family moved with her and could be happier. When I moved to Harford county I still didnt stop the trek because it is worth it for the care and time everyone in the office takes to help. I went here on the recommendation of two co-workers. I was able to request an appointment online and received a confirmation within 48 hours.I had some issues with filling out the paperwork online, but filled them out in the 15 minutes before my appointment time, which started as scheduled. The assistant did the usual pre-exam tests with all the fancy machines and then sat me in the exam room, where I barely read a page from my novel before the optometrist came in. Dr. Mahtab Vaziri got me set with a fresh pair of contact lenses and 4 sample/travel boxes of lens solution.The optician helped me figure out the best way to use my insurance benefits towards glasses or contacts. We determined glasses were the way to go this visit, so she helped me pick a frame Im really excited about and said theyd be ready in a week. My appointment was Monday and my new glasses were ready Friday. I live in DC and wasnt able to get there before they closed, but since theyre open until 7PM early in the week, Ill pick them up this afternoon.

This place is awesome! I found it online by googling: Best eye doctor in rockville and they were the first hit that accepted my insurance. I loved their ease of making an appointment online. I requested on on Monday and got one for Wednesday of the same week. Their customer service was the best Ive EVER seen in a eye doctors office. And Ive been to quite a few. I was seen by Dr. Hernandez and shes really nice, helpful and explains everything to you. They have the latest and greatest technology and I was really impressed! After several bad experiences with getting new glasses (bad prescription, lense falling out, misaligned lense) I really appreciated their willingness to help me find what I liked, not just what I needed. I also want to mention that I got a dilation test at around 10:45am and I can see clearly again now at 1:00pm. Thats SO fast! Overall, Google is right these are the best eye doctors in Rockville. Grade = A+
