This place is a joke. The people out front dont clearly convey they dont like their jobs and they treat customers terribly, with short/rude responses, and make you feel, as a customer, like you need to go out of your way to be kind to them to get better service. Its so strange. And the optometrist is terrible. She gave my son a prescription that when we tried to fill it at 1800-Contacts (with better benefits for contact lenses) they said two of the parameters were clearly wrong because they dont even offer that in the type of contact lens the optometrist recommended. I called to get that changed, and they never got back to me. So then I drove there and waited for a corrected prescription. After 20 minutes, the optometrist finally was done with her patient, so they had said shed address my prescription update when she was done with her patient, but when she came out, the service staff were nowhere to be found. I asked the doctor to please just update it so that I could leave since Id been sitting there so long -- for something she did wrong the first time!!!!! -- and she was rude. Never again. I am so done with this joke of a doctors office -- dont waste your money here!
Very low quality PREMIUM upgraded lenses. Great Sales and Initial Customer Service, great doctor. Very poor lenses execution, and horrible support. I purchased 2 pair of glasses, (1 prescription, 1 sunglasses for my wife), paid all possible premiums for scratch resistant lenses, antiglare, etc. late June 2020. The Columbia frame started to deteriorate (rubber is separating from the frame). I tried to contact the store in October to find out if there is a warranty. Was promised twice that someone will look up the details on my account, see what warranty is on the frame and call me back. By November no one called me back, and I decided just to let it go (thats more of Columbia issue). But than I noticed that the lenses are getting scratched up. more and more. And the same happened to the sunglasses. I tried to contact corporate office, it took 2 weeks and another repeat complaint to corporate office for store manager finally to call me. The response was: yes, you got scratch resistant lenses, when I tried to complaint that they are definitely not (Im wearing a 10 years old frame right now with perfectly fine lenses in comparison with Visionwork premium lenses), I was told, well, most likely you are not wiping them correctly and it is pretty much your own fault that they are scratched up, there is nothing we will do for you. I actually think now that I was just charged for the premium lenses, but they never got installed, and the store just took the difference (I just cant otherwise explain why the store manager wouldnt want even to look at them, she already knew that something was wrong, but didnt want to admit it).
I went to the Rockville location to get glasses and contacts. Laura helped me with my glasses and contacts purchase, factoring in and explaining my insurance policy. She was super nice and very professional. She made the purchase process seamless and was an absolute pleasure to work with!
My son and I went to Visionworks in Rockville yesterday afternoon. It was a little busy. Ethan the manager multitasked so well, it was out of this world. He greeted everyones concern, and the reason they were there, while giving my son and I the attention to help us with our needs. A lovely lady (Demetria) greeted my son and I first, while another lady there decided she was too busy running around to acknowledge we existed. Demetria, set my son up for the pretests he had to do before his eye exam. She was the kindest, patience, funny, and all around wonderful person who I think makes Visionworks a great place to visit. Thank you Ethan and Demetria for all of your help yesterday!
Front desk is honestly so rude lol. They don’t care for their jobs so they don’t have good customer service. I won’t be coming back here just because of that. Which was too bad because I liked having a female doctor. They gotta do better at this place for real
Don’t waste your time coming here, the service at first was great and welcome, until after you have paid for your service. Yet weeks later you get a bill for it, then you call back they say they would handle it. Checked back months later to still see I owe money and they never handled the problem. Don’t spend your money here, go to a mom and pop store where there is more transparency and full customer service all the way through your buying experience.
My whole experience at Rockville Visionworks was phenomenal. The staff are amazing, Laura who helped us was very professional and helpful. Great energy with everyone inside. Dr. Isabella who treated me is an amazing doctor. Overall I give this location five stars
This location used to be good. The doctors are still good, but most of the staff are rude and many are also incompetent. Multiple issues with multiple staff over multiple visits. Its a shame, but definitely no longer a good choice for glasses or contacts. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
Laura went absolutely above and beyond with her service, she is incredibly patient, supportive, and has a great sense of humor. The rest of the staff were also very welcoming and accommodating. Awful!! I dropped off my glasses to change my lenses, after two weeks I stopped by the store and they told me that they had broken my frame and they couldn’t reach me. Their insurance policy allows you to replace your frame with any frame they have in the store but the trick is that they don’t have very good options. They also told me that 1 in 10 frames costumers drop off gets broken which is a high probability for a reputable store. I suggest avoiding this place as much as you can, especially if you have an expensive frame.
Went to this store to change my glasses and get a new prescription. The costumer service was amazing, and Laura did everything possible to ensure that I could find the right frame and get the best price available. I will definitely come back to the store in the future.
Very knowledgeable employees about eyewear that are comfortable. I asked for frames that will not have my lenses fall out. I hope that the staff did not laugh behind my back. My vision is really poor without glasses. There is nothing funny about my optometrist telling me that I am a high risk glaucoma case. Only a sick person would laugh about that.
First time walking in this location based on the reviews but nobody even say hello or anything. I was trying to get a new pair of glasses but I have to ask for help. I guess is based on how you look. Staff are really rude and not manners.

You need to have an appointment just to look for some frames and walk around the store.
I had the best experience with the optometrist during my Eye exam, kept asking questions and the dr. responded all of them. After my exam I selected frame and several pairs of lenses and Contacts and the staff was super nice and friendly, we had a good time while getting my quote and they have really good products. Certainly I can tell that I made Friends with the staff, thery were awesome.
I came to visionworks to get a new prescription / pair of glasses and to get contacts. Everyone was incredibly friendly. I returned several times for the contacts class, and the manager Laura was so helpful and patient as I learned to use the contacts. I will definitely be returning. Thank you all so much!

This has to be the friendliest provider ever. The staff are taking good care during the pandemic and the service during my visit was excellent. The reception coming in the door is warm and friendly. The initial assessment went smoothly and the examination by Dr. Minasse was careful and precise, while being pleasingly unrushed. I came away with a better prescription and happy to recommend with this review.
I have gone to many different companies and locations for my glasses. This specific location has been by far the best location I have visited. The associates were all friendly and knowledgeable, helped me with all of my questions. Also, the doctor took extra time to answer all of my concerns and provided me with the best information and advice. Will recommend this location to many people, and will continue doing business here.

The Eye-Doctor is excellent, I highly recommend. But, after I received email to pick up the glasses, I went to the outlet only to get a cold shoulder from one individual at front office that I showed up without an appointment. May be VisionWorks should not send email ready for pickup OR add make prior appointment.
Walked-in without an appointment (there was a sign on the door that said appointments required), to try my luck at getting some brand new acrylic-framed glasses from Warby Parker adjusted, and am sure glad I did! They were tight around the ears and the arms(?) needed to be bowed out slightly. Lorenzo was friendly, fast, and careful with my glasses- even though I didnt purchase them from Visionworks. They feel great now and there was no charge! Thank you Lorenzo!
I’m writing this review on behalf on my sister who went to Visionworks in North Bethesda with our father last Friday and today, Monday. They were kicked out on Friday even though they were early for their appointment and initially waited for 30 mins and then again for 30 mins after the eye exam. The staff decided to kick them out because they were closing but failed to attend them adequately and timely. Probably because they wanted to go home. So, my sister and dad left without a problem. Today, they had another appointment which they were late for but it was no where near close anyway. They refused them service even though they had kicked them out previously too. A worker who was there both occasions (Pablo) stayed quiet today and refused to handle the situation despite his knowledge about their previous experience. I have worked in the health industry and though it gets busy, we try to get our patients in as much as possible. It is a fast paced environment for sure and the staff are obviously incompetent in dealing with this. I recommend hiring people who can multi-task, display time management, professionalism and conflict management.
I find working with this place frustrating and tiring. The limited hours that you have for appointments makes it extremely difficult for many people who also have working hours. After scheduling an appointment, you have to wait a seriously long period of time for delivery of your prescription, and then you have to schedule another appointment to pick them up and have them properly adjusted. Very difficult and frustrating for people with working schedules, and I do not really find your claims that all this is required by the CDC to be believable. It makes a long, complicated and difficult process out of what should be a basic and straightforward task.
Very disappointed with them. Bought glasses there and not even a month i had to come back because the screws kept coming out. I have at the location for the same thing 3 times already. Waste of valuable time
This was my first time using Visionworks and so far I am super satisfied with their service. The GM Vivian was super friendly, patient, and attentive. I went there during my lunch break and she did everything so fast, I was able to be back at work on time. I am very satisfied with the service she provided, and I cannot wait to get my progressive glasses.
Front desk people are rude and laughed about customers behind the back. They rushed you to buy contact and glasses and gave you wrong information. The worst eye care store I’ve been to.
My experience with the Dr Minasse and the GM Vivian was phenomenal. It was my first using progressive lenses but Vivian was super helpful in helping me understand the benefits of my new lenses. She was kind and very patient. I am so satisfied with the overall experience. And my glasses came in so much faster than I expected. I had such a great experience.

I tend to take a lot of time and ask for lots of feedback of choosing frames and they are so patient and helpful. Jessica and Monica helped me on Saturday, no wait. I wasn’t going to rate this location too highly as I didn’t have the nicest/most helpful check in experience and was waiting past the time I expected based on my appointment.But Dr. Nardos provides the most thorough and helpful eye exam I’ve ever had and completely improved my experience.I had am in-between prescription and she was extremely diligent, patient and funny as we tried different tests to ensure I was 100% happy with my vision. I’ve worn glasses for over 15 years and have just recently had issues and I feel confident that that they have been resolved. Like WOW. What an amazing practitioner.Receptionists that I had on the way out were helpful and sweet as well. Thanks!

I have been using Visionworks for about 3 years now. I am not a really pleasant person when I get my eyes checked due to the chronic issues I have had with my vision and trying to find the best fit that can make me see better. On my last visit yesterday, Aracely helped me and did a fantastic job going through the options for ordering contacts and glasses for me. She was so knowledgeable, she listened to my concerns and was super helpful. I was really pleased with the service and attention and can’t wait to try my new glasses!
Went for a routine eye exam and for contacts. Granted I submitted the wrong vision insurance initially over the phone as I have two under my plan. But I realized the correct one and submitted it in the online forms that you need to fill out pre-appointment. When I show up everything seems fine and the doctor was professional and nice enough but at checkout they seemed stuck on the wrong insurance. I regave them the same information I had submitted online but they couldn’t find anything. They also refused to call the insurance company I had for vision at checkout. So I paid out of pocket and will need to submit separately. I called the insurance company who called Visionworks on my behalf to sort it out. I also felt uncomfortable giving my social and all the member information out loud verbally. It was a really awkward, draining and rude experience.
Wonderful business with a group of fantastic staff members who are ready to help their customers at a moments notice. Appointments are quick and easy, and the doctors never fail to make me smile. Would definitely recommend, 100%.Thanks Visionworks staff members for another great visit!

I have gone to this store for the past 2 years and have always found the entire team to be extremely knowledgeable and genuinely supportive of any concerns, issues with my purchases. Lens are not cheap especially with deteriorating eyesight and I am always confident that I am consulted appropriately with various payment options. Tristian and staff were so patient, kind and helpful. I tried soo many pairs of glasses and sunglasses on and they were honest in helping me make the best decisions as to which ones were a perfect fit. The practice is clean, friendly and accommodating even post-COVID. I went in right at my appointment time after briefly waiting outside to honor social distancing guidelines put in place for their practice.
I took my grandparents to their first appointment at Visionworks and they loved how they were taken care by the workers. They provided them a great attention, and my grandfather loved how the Doctor show her care for her patients and how serious she take her job!

After a bunch of online research I headed over to my local Visionworks. Laura provided cheerful and attentive service. She was very clear and efficient in descibing options and pricing. Placed the order with her that day.
I am really disappointed with the service of the front desk at this location of Visionworks. I feel that they are disinterested in serving their customers and want them to leave as soon as possible. The process of getting eyeglasses fitted to my face was very unpleasant, and they still dont fit well. They never really looked at my face to see if the glasses fit me. While I was in the location one girl nearly cried because they were so unfriendly to her. The upside is the European doctor working in the back office. He really took the time and the exam for my glasses went great.
The staff was courteous and friendly. It was extremely clean. Dr. Bhagat was so personable and took wonderful care of me. I’m so glad I chose this location. I will definitely be back for future care and eye exams (both contact and glasses). Thank you!!!
Worst ever! One star does not properly address their service quality.BTW, my former experiences with Visionworks were positive. So, this review is applicable to this shop.Summary:1. Two months of wait time2. They lost my old lenses even if I asked them otherwise3. Unusable glass (soon-to-be-trashed)4. Bonus: 20-30 minutes wait time over the phone every time.I waited more than 2 months for a single vision sunglass. I brought my old glass frame, and asked a salesperson if they could fit a lens on it. No problem. I also asked that I wanted to get the old lenses back. They tried to cut a lens in the local shop, and ruined the lens. Then, the Visionworks tried to do it - at least thats what they said. After more than two months, they called. They lost my old lenses. I was exhausted, and took the sunglasses and went home. The lenses keep popping out from the frame because the lenses are much smaller than the frame. I have never seen any shop doing such a poor job. I called the shop, and asked Vivian (a general manager) the followings:1. order an uncut lens2. find someone who can cut the lenses properly3. If she cannot find one, I know who can do the job.4. my out-of-pocket price should match with the price I originally paid.I even accept the 2 months waiting (Vivian also accepted it is unreasonably long time for wait) and the fact they lost my old lenses. She refuses to do so. I ended up getting unusable sunglasses (soon to be trashed), wasted two months, and lost lenses. The worst place ever!
Just visited VW for purchase of new glasses. Team demonstrated excellent customer service. Experienced in knowledge of insurance as well as assistance with style.
Was recommended to get my glasses here because of their great variety and the staff was amazing! Jessica was so helpful in assisting me find the right fit for my face along with Gaby. I needed an updated eye exam and had the exam done with Dr. Minasse and likewise had a very pleasant experience. Would definitely come back for another pair.

This was my first time going here and probably my last. The Optometrist was late which caused appointments to get backed up. She was strange and didn’t make me feel confident that she knew what she was doing. Also, their services are overpriced, $205 for my full prescription lenses after insurance. Thank goodness for online eye glass businesses for affordable eyewear.

Gwen was a lifesaver! I needed new glasses ASAP, and Gwen helped me through the whole process and I was able to pick up my glasses an hour later. The whole thing was super simple, no one stalked me around the store to upsell me on frames, and I got exactly the help I needed.

I have experienced very poor service. I came in over a month ago and placed an order for new lens, since then every week I’ve been calling to understand the status of the arrival of my lens. Every time, I was held on the phone for 10 to 30 minutes only to learn that they don’t know where the lens are and I should give it a few more days. Never once did someone from the shop initiate and call me. Now after more than a month, I was told that my payment was refunded to my card a few days after the transaction was made.I never asked for a refund, so I don’t know why it happened and no one at the shop could explain. But during this month no one had the ability to know what is the real status and I was led to believe that everything is OK, and there is just a small delay. My fault is that I don’t monitor my card, but if their service was minimum - I would have known that there is a problem in a reasonable time frame. I guess some business are easy to take you money and that’s all they care about, rather then really caring about there customers.I’m going elsewhere.
Came in as a walk in during my lunch break to fix something wrong with my glasses. I was helped immediately, they fixed my issue, fixed it fast, and didnt charge me an arm and a leg for it. I havent seen their ophthamologist yet, but what Ive experienced so far was great.
Worst eye exam - Beware!! This place is staffed by opticians not optometrists, at best you will have a cursory eye exam.

I called the store to see if they carried a frame that I want to purchase FROM THEM. The person who answered the phone said is Anuka told me if I didnt have an SKU number which clearly I didnt have, I told her I had the frame name and model number and she said she wouldnt be able to check with that information. I called another optical and they found the frame right away!! And of course I gave them my money!!Unbelievable how employees are careless about their customers. I just wanted to give them my business but clearly they didnt want them!

Their products are very low quality and whoever takes a look at your eyes knows nothing.I paid more than $700 for a pair of glasses of their topmost quality and ended up having to see another eye doctor to find out why I was unable to see clearly with the glasses I got from them. In a nutshell wrong prescription and very low quality lenses....
