I reserved a truck and equipment for an in town move (less than 10 miles overall). Picking up the truck was simple and straightforward. I was helped by Vannida and she was great. Dropping off the truck (after hours) I was having technical issues. One of their employees, Michael B. noticed that I was having problems. Even though he was extremely busy he stopped what he was doing to help me checkout. He did the entire process for me and was very nice. I would have been charged additional fees had he not done that. His actions and positive attitude were greatly appreciated.

I reserved a truck along with furniture dollies for a move. They claimed that they ran out of used dollies to rent and couldnt provide them, nor an alternative, even though there were brand new ones for sale in the lobby. I needed them to move furniture. Instead of renting 2 dollies for $10 for the day, as I reserved and was promised/contracted, I ended up having to pay $40 for new dollies that I now have to keep and store in a small apartment. If they arent available, it shouldnt allow you to rent them, especially since I reserved the dollies weeks in advance. I wasnt the only one that this happened to that day, as people screamed and lost their minds in the lobby- really adds to the experience of moving.

Be careful with mileage! I rented a truck yesterday and it had the light on the dashboard and I couldn’t take a picture of the mileage. I called the store several times and they didn’t pick up the phone! The move was very close by and less than 10 miles all around. When I returned the truck they charge me for 28 miles! Reading now at the reviews I’m not the only one being scammed at this location. The stuff were rude and they refused to help me out with this issue.

On 3.13.21, I rented a van for duration from 2pm to 6:00pm. Returned the van at 5:00pm. They were open til 7:00pm and saw me when I returned the van, but they still charged me $20 after hours service fee. Next day, I was there to let them know to check cameras and they promised to check and call me. Nothing was done. They can keep stolen $20. Just want to let you know, be careful because they are cheaters.

Did the check in online a day before and the had it... why don’t they call and let me know what’s going on... don’t go here, go somewhere else... so disappointed... had to wait 45 minutes in line... never ever....

The truck was blocked when I went to pick the truck up. I went back in to ask them to remove the blocking trucks and they told me to wait. They made me wait for long until I called the number on my booking confirmation. The guy never apologized for making me wait and was even rude. They made me lose 30 minutes with my movers.

BE AWARE!!! Take pictures of your odometer at pick up and drop off!! (This can save you $$$$) dont make my mistake.I had rented trucks from here twice in the past everything went smooth. Last week I rented a pick up truck Wed@ 625pm returned it same night drove 26 miles but they say I drove 101 miles. Where the extra miles came from? I dont know.The vehicle got checked in by their staff next day @710pm Montgomery village is not that far. They even have a picture of the odometer. I am being charge $80 for additional day plus the additional miles (26). Manager ask me for proof meaning a picture.I did not know nor it is posted on the contract or in the store that i have to take pictures. As a repeat customer I dont go to a business expecting to get ripped off. unfortunately this time I did not take a pic. Of the odometer in nor out..!! Save your self 💰 and take the picture.

The employees were very nice but this place is a nightmare. Nowhere to park first of all, which then causes insane traffic jams and thus is difficult to maneuver, especially with inexperienced people driving massive trucks. Avoid this location if you can.

The service was fine. I did my reservation and inputted my license online so that saved a lot of time. The person at the counter was great. The person who was out on the lot when I got my car did not say anything or even tell me which truck to get, I had to find him and ask. So overall pretty good, but the customer service at the area where you get the truck could be better

Made my reservation ahead of time and even thought I was about 29 minutes late- my trial was there ready for me. They took a picture of my ID (I could have uploaded during reservation) and I was on my way within 5 minutes of being helped. The store was clearly marked with social distancing in mind and was fully stocked with all you moving needs, from boxes and wrap to dollies and bike racks. It was a little busy because it was a Saturday, but still the line moved well. The customer service was quick and the ladies working there were attentive to my questions.The drop off process was just as seemless with leaving the truck before closing and getting an emailed final reciept. I would definitely go again if I have a big DIY move!

The staff was entirely rude. Didn’t seem as if anyone wanted to be at work. I asked for an estimate on how long it would take, as I have a child in daycare, and work. They couldn’t give me a estimate on time for a hitch install. They quoted me the entire day. Unacceptable. They said the time I reserved was triple booked. Not sure if she realizes this cannot happen as you have a reservation system. At the same time a manager jumped in, a man, and stated 4 pm, end of conversation. Not sure how that is managerial in the least but. Thanks For putting on the hitch. Awful, and terrible service. I will be recommending people and friends to avoid Uhaul, especially this location.

Our go to spot for all things moving - even had a trailer hitch installed here. UHaul moving boxes are the best - sturdy with handles and the kit for $35 is a deal. Ding 1 star for wait time. There’s not enough counter staff to move the line along.

The staff is efficient, and also lacking in basic manners. Uhaul May benefit from investing in customer service training so that their staff treat people with more respect. This location also double charged me for my last order, hung up the call after being on hold for 15 mins, and no one answers on the live chat. It’s convenient to use Uhaul for the many locations and cheap options, but it doesn’t make up for being talked to like a 7 year old, and spending unnecessary time fixing their mistakes, which they aren’t helping with.

Staff is efficient. Office is clean and well stocked. Pickup is in the front. Drop off is in the rear. Few vehicles are on site. I expect that reservations are recommend. There are independent movers hanging around near the entrance. I overheard a very happy customer but have not used their services.

First half of our move in May: Scheduled an 8am pickup, no one showed up to open the location for business until after 9am.Second half of our move (supposed to be today): Arrived at 1030am for our 8am pickup (moving with young children is so much fun). We were told they cancelled our reservation at 9am because they only hold 1 hour past pickup time. This is apparently a location policy but its not posted anywhere in the store nor in any of the emails we received. They also did not send us any notification of the reservation being cancelled. Best they could do is a 4pm at a location an hour away from us. Oh, but they added a few more miles to the reservation & said theyd let us have some blankets for free. That TOTALLY makes up for having to hire movers now to help load the truck since were losing 6+ hours of loading time.

I’ve stopped here a few times to fill propane and have always had good service. I just rented a trailer from them for the day and was so relieved how easy and fast it was! Fantastic service with the rental and I was out of there in 10 minutes!

Rent here if you want to take the risk of being overcharged. And after calling the location, then being referred to customer service then back to the store manager and now it’s my duty to follow up with the manager. Everyone acknowledged and were nice about the error so this isn’t about the people. The problem is their systems and processes. I’d rather not take a chance of shopping at any establishment that could overcharge me by 30% without being able to quickly reverse it.

We were just returning to this location and upon arrival it was very backed up. There were two out there trying their best to keep everything flowing but the volume was catching up. A young lady greeted us and asked us to wait a moment while she tried to find the owner of a vehicle parked in the spot she wanted to put the trailer in. After about 10 or so minutes a different associate, Nick, came up and asked if we needed help. I explained to him what I was told and he immediately went to work moving 10 trailers by hand to make room for this 5 x 8 on the back of my truck. Once everything was moved he verified our information and said we were good to go. Great initiative on his part as well as good customer service skills kept us from having to wait even longer. I let him know that I do not do reviews but I would make an exception for him. Really great experience from him. Thank you again, Nick.

Employees avoid you when you are returning equipment. Do not listen to you. The lines are incredibly long and could use a person to organize it or recommend that the people in line waiting can check in online so that the process is smoother. Horrible customer service all around.

RODENTS! Despite asking insurance (and staff forgetting to apply it to bill), all of my late mothers items were destroyed by rodent feces and urine and the manager did not mitigate, nor try to help reconcile this issue. It took me 5 days to speak with a manger about the situation because of his lack of customer service. The manager and another three other staff members said they were aware of someone bringing food into the storage unit and decided to call a few clients to check on their items and I was not called. The manager did not have extermination called and he lied to the Stafestor saying he did proper mitigation for rodents, which is not true. This is unfortunate that all of the personal belongings of my late mother have been ruined due to lack of mitigation once they were aware of a person bringing in food that rodents got a hold of and allowed some of the clients to check on their items, but not all of them. Do not put your items here, it will get ruined and you will not get money back.

VERY FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE!!!I want to start by saying the gentleman that actually handled my paperwork did a really good job. From there the decline was fast.After opening up the back of the truck to load our stuff, we found the truck had not been swept out. There was screws, bobby pins and other objects in it. In the passenger side door, there was a grocery bag with trash stuffed into it. Im going to assume they were very busy and didnt have time to clean my truck out before giving it to me.The worst part was returning the truck. Our move took longer than expected, so we had to return it after hours. The website claims they are a 24 hour drop-off facility. when I showed up at the facility, they had both of their driveways blocked with other U-Haul trucks, making it impossible to return (theres no parking on the street at this location either). I called their customer service and the first agent told me I would have to wait until the morning to return it. Not possible! She then told me I would be charge for either an additional day or if I chose to return it to another facility, a wrong destination fee. After explaining its not my fault they were preventing me from returning it to their lot, she said she could not help me and hung up. Called back and spoke to another agent who then put me on hold so she could check with a manager. After 15 minutes on hold, the phone rang over to another agent who did the same thing. After 37 minutes on hold, I gave up.I decided to put the truck onto the sidewalk in the public right-of-way. I locked my rental blankets in the front cab and then took lots of pictures as evidence in case they tried to claim I did something wrong and tried to charge me more than they should. There was also another renter who came after me and he had to do the same thing.Very poor situation.

Friendly service, best rates in the area. The location can be VERY busy, and getting in and out of the parking lots can be difficult. Book your vehicles in advance; the lot was nearly empty when we returned our truck Saturday afternoon.

Horrible place of business...I was overcharged for fuel charges even though I filled the fuel up the truck back to where the meter was originally set. Trying to reach someone at this place is nearly impossible. After multiple attempts, I finally was able to talk to one of the representatives. I let the person know that I wanted to dispute the fuel charge and was told to e-mail the manager and they would take care of it. After emailing the manager 3 times with no response within a two week time frame, I understood that I wont be hearing back from them anytime soon.On a side note: The people working there were friendly, however it seems that a few more people should be hired at this location to handle the large volume of customers walking through the door.

I have visited this location twice. Don’t recommend. For a propane refill, I had to wait for over 25 minutes the first time, when there were no customers left in the store. Eventually, I got service only because I had a tank to pay for as well; they charged me for a full tank, but it lasted only to barbecue one time. The second time, after waiting 25 minutes and already past closing, even though there were multiple cashiers in the store, no one would help me. They said I had to wait until all of the other customers had stopped arriving and had all checked out first. For a propane refill, you don’t get a place in line, they charge for more propane than they put in, and there is no guaranteed service.

Worst experience ever...was threatened. I went in with a Reservation and was not told over the phone that I need a second phone number. When I went in the older gentleman wearing glasses said he needed a second phone number, I told him I didn’t have one, he said he needed one so I gave him their phone number and he threatened to call ICE on me. He said without a second phone number he would be fired and said that if I didn’t leave he would call the police.

The line was slow but the day was very busy and renting a truck takes time hence the 1 star off. What they did right was: they had enough stock on hand for me to reserve the truck I thought I needed the night before I came to pick it up and they had it when I got there. When I showed up and realized that the truck I rented was too big to fit into my buildings parking garage they helped me find a solution that would work and pointed me to a location that had the right moving truck for me. They were very helpful and friendly and worked quickly with me.

Unethical and shady fuel charges, beware as many others have stated. Also, the truck was very old and felt unsafe to drive. I am escalating this corporate and also will be looking into when the last (if any) inspection was done. I would not recommend to rent here. Also poor customer service. Left this place feeling ripped off and very annoyed.

I had a good experience overall, and the staff were friendly and helpful. That said, the truck/van pickup line in the morning was insanely long: it probably took me 30-40 mins to get through. If youre picking up right when they open, get there a few mins early so youre at the front! Im giving 4 stars because there could have been 1-2 more staff members on hand to help speed up the line.

I had a horrible experience at this Parklawn Rockville MD location and probably would never go again. They had me waiting for over 1 hour trying to fix an error in the computer. It overcharge me 1 extra day. Because supposedly i came in 10 min over my check out time. But I actually came on time at 10:42am within my 24hrs. The representative that checked me out took more than 10 minutes to inspect and check the truck because he was doing something else. Which cause my time to be 10 minutes over. Then when I went to the office they had me there for more than an hour trying to give me a refund. Which they denied at first because they didnt have $19.95 in the drawer in cash therefore they had to then figure out how to credit it on my debit account. I got to my appointment very late that day, because of their lack of training and very poor customer service.

Forgot a transformer hand cart (a very nice one) in the van I rented. Came back the next morning. Was told that everything they find, they throw away. Granted the person that accepted the truck from me was not there, but, point is I still was not able to get my hand cart back :). Im glad I did not leave my wallet or cell phone in the van.

Beware fraudulent charges!! I got a truck and the inside door handle was loose. I pointed out when I returned it that it needed to be fixed and the person receiving it said it would be fine. A week or two later, I got a call from Repwest about the accident and charging me for the repairs.The waits at this location are also often very long, but this was my first truly bad experience there.

Horrible service! Uhual, today in the morning I was renting a cargo van and I told the uhual employee that I need to return the cargo van today at 6:30pm. However, she was checking facebook while she was speaking to me and did not pay attention to my words and she set on the computer the return to 4:30 pm, I found out way later when uhual sent me a text message that I needed to return the van at 4:30 pm. I also spoke to customer service once I got the message and they were no help and ended up charging me more because according to them they could not change anything on the system and I was in use of the van still because I thought I had until 6:30 pm. Overall, horrible customer service and bad employees at uhaul. They should be more focused on their jobs than on facebook.

I just dont have words for this very understaffed location. No one knows what anyone else is doing and it seemed like chaos from beginning to end. A few people were helpful there, but it took so many trips from the front to the back to get things straight (its one long block to walk back and forth!). I was just not a happy camper dealing with the inconvenience of driving there from Germantown, and then it taking forever to get a trailer attached to the truck, etc. When I got to Portland there was ONE man running a location by himself and he was faster than the three or four in Rockville combined!

This is an awfully unprofessional Uhaul location that significantly decreases the value of the brand. The wait times are always excessively long, and Jonathan and Carina are absolutely unprofessional, incompetent, and rude. Their demeanors consistently indicate an indifference towards customers and their overall job. I was overcharged due to their failure to logically calculate my fuel usage, so I had to expedite things to the corporate office just to receive my refund. Additionally, there is always miscommunication with orders, where the type of truck and scheduled timeframe are consistently incorrect. I once went to pick-up a scheduled reservation but was unable to because of their failure to adequately remain attentive. I will never revisit/utilize this location for my moving needs due to the continued incompetency of employees and extreme lack of care and professionalism.

I will avoid U-Haul in the future if possible.There are 3 distinct parts to my journey, and it started well-Thank you Missoula, MT U-Haul on Strand Ave.for your part.First off, I Ordered a U-box container, not a truck.I was moving from MT to MD. I started by visiting the Uhaul on Strand Ave. in Missoula, MT. I was looking for lots of moving options, trucks, bike racks, tailers, etc. They were very helpful each time i visited. But, if you want a U-box, one must book and deal with it online only, the local guys can’t help you there. They will deliver the box and pick it up, that is about it. Box ordered, filled with my stuff, and picked up as scheduled. Thank you Missoula.Now my box is on a truck headed across the country. Great.I needed to change the credit card to my spouses before the large financial hit happened, because is was going to travel across the country and needed available credit for hotels and such. I called customer service long before the billing date (they tell you in advance when the charge will occur, it is not small). I changed credit cards over the phone with the C.S. rep, they said done deal, and everything i thought was cool. I was wrong. They did not change the credit card, billed my card, maxed that out and left me without funds.I made it through that and arrived at my new home.While on the road i got a call from U Haul in Rockville, my box had arrived. I could not answer that call on the road and called them back the next day, the next day, the next day, the next day, the next day, the next day. They do not answer their phone. Phone calls then go to the national call center, where you speak with a human. Props to UHaul for having humans talk to you and minimal automated menus to dial through. Each call to C.S. ended with them taking my # and leaving a message for Uhaul Rockville to call me back. Never happened. After the first couple of failed phone calls i visited the location in person to arrange access to my box, not so easy. No one was forklift certified to get it down from the stack. So still out of luck. I needed to arrange movers, reserve the freight elevator at my apt and Uhaul getting me access all at the same time. Uhaul made this impossible. I was given the email address for the manager, and was assured that he would respond to email. Nope. My last call to customer service got me rerouted 3 times and ended back with the person i spoke with at the beginning of the call. She was shocked. She tried to contact Uhaul Rockville for me and experienced the same problems i had day after day. I visited the location 3 times to arrange for box to be unloaded, finally got to set up a time for them to get it down. We showed up, and it was still in the stack. I guess i got lucky that day as someone was willing to get it down right then. We had them put the box in their parking lot and i had other movers come and unload it. From there on it was no problem. Without U-Haul it ran smooth.Uhaul Rockville on Parklawn seems to be a total loser. Management avoided us completely, employees seemed to not give a fart and it seemed that frustration is what they sell. I have never received a phone call or email or mail to respond to my issues. Uhaul as a company is doing itself a huge disservice by letting them ruin the brand. This was an expensive nightmare. Regrets for not just hiring a moving company from the get go. Ryder is just down the street.I should add--Uhaul C.S. was courteous and helpful each time i spoke with them, outside of the credit card mixup.

I showed up Saturday morning at 8:30 for a 9am reservation. I made my reservation on Wednesday. They said show up a few minutes early so they can process your information or save time by checking in online so you dont have to process your information when you get there, ergo, Save time. I got here 30 mins early just because I thought Id get a head start having checked in online. Little did I know, you wait inline with everyone. People who checked in online, people who did not. People who are trying to figure out what they want to rent. In the end, I didnt get out until 9:37, one hour and 7 mins later.

I certainly know why they have such a low rating. I called the number listed on the website which I thought was the actual U-Haul location but turned out to be the call center to make an appointment for the same day at 3 PM. When I showed up to the U-Haul location at 2:50 for my appointment they told me the gentleman who does the hitch installation was leaving for the day so they could not do the installation. They actually called him on the walkie-talkie, so he was definitely there, but he just said no he couldnt do it that day because he was already planning on leaving. It seems to me that you would want to keep the customer with confirmation of an appointment but instead he wanted to leave at three so no appointment and no hitch.

If i could give 0 starts i would. DONT NOT I REPEAT DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. Theyre crooks and dont do their job right. They tried to charge me 400+ miles. Granted it was somewhat our fault too because we didnt check the odometer before we signed the paperwork. But, you would think the associate would walk you to the car and check that with you before you sign the paperwork. NOPE! They dont do that. I would also have to drive to New York and back in that slow stinking truck! Once i realized the odometer was wrong i contacted Uhaul that afternoon and I even went to the store. Of course the manager wasnt there. I let them know the mistake and even had the nice associate check to see who had the vehicle before me. Lord and behold the person before me had THE SAME MILEAGE GOING OUT! Wallah, problem shouldve been solved. But no. I get an email from someone who told me they realized it was a mistake and said they would charge me for 81 miles. I emailed them back letting them know we used mid 70 miles not 81. I never received a response back or call. Im thinking the manager or whoever worked out the issue...I was wrong AGAIN. I open my email this morning and see theyre trying to charge me $631.12. You really lost your mind if you think Im going to pay for mileage i didnt use. Its clear that more than half of your staff doesnt know how to do their job. And its clear that as a manager YOU dont check behind them to make sure things are running smooth.You basically told on yourself and staff by letting people know that YOU dont update the mileages of your vehicles. Which makes sense because thats how yall rob people of their money. Its been nothing but hell trying to resolve this situation because the manager lies and says he calls people but doesnt or respond back to emails. And when you call customer service they cant do anything besides put in a customer dispute and you have to wait on these lying suckers to resolve your issue. And then you had the nerve to close my dispute and said you called me BUT IF YOU CALLED YOU COULDVE LEFT A VOICEMAIL WITH A NUMBER TO CALL BACK. Did you do that!? NO. This issue started on Saturday and its Wednesday and its still unresolved. I WILL NEVERRRRR EVERRRRR use yall service AGAIN. And I will make sure everyone knows that the UHAUL on Parklawn Drive is PURE TRASH! Dont even waste your time working with an incompetent staff (minus the guy who helped me out because the girl next to him that day didnt know what the hell she was doing either). This store needs new management and a new staff that actually know what theyre doing (minus the guy who helped me and seems to be the only person who knows what hes doing)

They just had a software upgrade which is causing a lot of bugs and screw ups but thats not their fault, I rented a 17 truck for $29.95 + $14.00 for insurance and $0.99/mile.Came out 50 dollars. outside the store there are always street movers which you can pay $30-$40/hour and theyll help you out just dont let them scratch your stuff they just care to finish as fast as they can so they can go to the next job so on that note dont let them out of your eye site.BTW boxes run here $1.00-$2.00 dollars depends on the size.

Absolutely horrible. We had a reservation through uhaul in Rockville MD off of parklawn drive for Saturday. We only reserved it for one day so we made sure to bust our butts and return it before close on Saturday. I turned in the keys to someone and left with the receipt they gave me saying Id get a final receipt by email. Monday morning comes and my fiancé gets an email for TWO days reservation. I wouldnt be leaving one star if theyd fixed it but the customer service that followed was HORRIBLE.They refused to accept that theyd made a mistake, they claimed they looked at the cameras and that we returned it the next night (even though they dont know who to look for) and then the manager refused to give me his name. It was absolutely disgusting. I rent from uhaul monthly for my company for over three years and this one experience makes me never want to rent from them again. We will be finding somewhere else to take our business. Absolutely disgusting.DONT RENT FROM THE ROCKVILLE LOCATION IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE DOUBLE CHARGED.

WORST COSTUMER SERVICE EVERI rented a trailer for my moving and when the guy was hooking it up on my truck he hit the trailer on the tailgate of my truck and damaged it (big scratch and dent), manager wasnt present in the store so they said he would take care of this matter once I returned the trailer, so when I did he was still not in the store, called several times and he never answered and they always claimed that he was busy and nobody else could deal with it. So next time they will hear from me will be when my lawyer contact them, because if you damage their trailer or truck they will charge you a fortune, but when they damage your car they simply ignore you.
