John Shipley is a friendly, honest, and hardworking mechanic. My boyfriend dropped his Cadillac off here on a Friday afternoon, the issue was diagnosed on Saturday, and was fixed by Tuesday (Monday was Memorial Day). Shipley communicated with us throughout the entire process and was completely honest about what needed to be done now and what we could wait on. When my boyfriend picked his car up it ran so much better than it did before. John’s prices are very fair and his work is of the highest quality. We will be customers for life.

John Shipley talked me through a ton of details while I coordinated getting my Mini Cooper to his shop for a clutch and flywheel replacement along with oil change. His price was extremely reasonable, and far more affordable than the Mini Cooper dealership! John and Alfredo kept me updated throughout the whole process, and are very knowledgeable of European cars. My car drives better than it has in a long, long time - its amazing! We will definitely be back for future needs for my Mini Cooper, as well as our other car, a BMW.

5 star shop all around. I have an older car that needed some attention. I reached out to John very early one morning and he was able to fit me in immediately. John communicated every issue and got me back on the road that same day. I couldn’t ask for better customer service or turnaround time. Thank you sir!

I went here due to misfiring that I was having on my car after a turbo install from another shop. Car was also running rough. He first charged me for diagnostic tests to find the issue. Compression test was claimed to be done, which he said was normal. In addition, replacement of spark plugs, brake booster line and oxygen sensor.Car still kept misfiring so he checked turbo system and found that there was exhaust leaks which he claimed to also fix and weld. At this point, he states that misfiring must be due to a tuning issue and not a mechanic issue so I need to take the car back to the tuner. Advised him that car ran fine multiple times on the dyno without misfiring so unsure how it could be a tuning issue.During that time, car was driven one day by me, which showed smoking from downpipe. Car still drove but rough at times. Took the car back to the shop, he informed me that the oil over the engine may just be from him working on it and this was causing the smoking. He then proceeded to take car on test drive with me. During test drive, he drove at excessive speeds 70+ on local road limit of 30, overtaking a group of cyclists recklessly. Car then proceeded to smoke everywhere from engine and he could not get car to start up after that.Car was towed to his shop. Couple days later and he did not have much of an update. He stated that he checked the basics and was not able to get engine to start. He then informed me that he cannot continue to work on my car without further getting paid. I advised him that the car broke down during a test drive that he conducted and he should at least get my car running as it was previously still running prior. He then states that he will no longer be working on my car and informed me to come pick car up.During the entire time, communication was poor and I had to reach out to him multiple times to get an update. In addition, he failed to solve the actual issue which the car was brought in for. Instead, fixed things that did not solve my main issue with the car. In addition, through the whole process he kept complaining that this issue was because of the shop that installed it instead of just fixing the problem that they caused (like a mechanic is supposed to do).Car was then towed to another shop who were able to diagnose issue within one day. Compression test that John claimed to do, showed low numbers with no compression in one of the cylinders. If John in fact did do test, he blew engine during test drive which would explain smoking everywhere from engine. If he didnt, then he lied about performing compression test.Furthermore, exhaust leaks were said to have been fixed but upon inspection by new mechanic, did not look to be even welded all the way around.Would not recommend this shop for anything besides basic repairs and maintenance. The shop is owned by John and all work is done by him. He seems to take on more jobs than he can handle, as he had my car for 2 weeks and did not accomplish much. Other shop fixed my issue within 1 week and indeed it was not a tuning issue but a mechanical one which shipley could not diagnose and fix.Attache pictures are the supposed exhaust leaks he fixed.

The owner didnt communicate or respond to emails, Facebook messages or phone calls. He apparently didnt like me being honest about his poor customer service and how I heard him lie to a customer on the phone. I offered to give him one more try as he said he already ordered a part for my car but he now decided he wont work on my car. And he is friends and neighbors with my son. Lol. Its fine. I dont tolerate liars period.
