Love the atmosphere-so much to feast your eyes on! I tried the pear and the peach flavors. (You can get 2 flavors in any size cup, by the way. They have a sign that says this but I didnt notice it until after the lovely staff person told me.) The peach was fine, but I didnt really get much pear flavor-it just tasted like sweet cream to me. My friend had the passion fruit and the forest berry which were both delicious. They also have some macrons and other pastries as well as a variety of coffee and non-coffee beverages. I tried the lemon, lime, lavender soda by Taproot, a local company, and found it really yummy. They have little signs in the seating area saying, Please limit visits to 30 minutes. Unfortunately we didnt see these until we were leaving after having spent probably an hour chatting. It wasnt very busy while we were in, but I can imagine it might get very busy and seats might be at a premium. Id definitely go back again!
This place has some top notch gelato. So much so in fact I think 3 other gelato shops opened up around it to try to compete. They for sure do not hold back on the flavors, Rose Petal Water? Sticky Rice Pudding? Delightful, and fun to sit out on the patio and look at all the posh 9th and 9th fanfare.
AMAZING GELATO!!!!!!!! You wont regret coming here. Its a local place that feels like your a part of a big family. Flavors are perfection!
Tonight was my first day in Salt Lake City and my friend wanted to bring me and my fiance here because she loves this place and I can definitely understand why! 😋 The ambiance and decor are fun and quirky and the gelato flavors are wonderful! There is a nice range of flavor options and you can pick two flavors per cup, too. I noticed Dolcetti also offers drinks (warm and cold) and pastries such as macaroons and muffins. The portion sizes are perfect because the small is just the right amount to enjoy a sweet treat without feeling overwhelmed. 🤗 However, the prices are a little high for a small amount of gelato in my opinion. This may be because Im from Columbus, OH but I think we paid almost $20 for 4 people. Nevertheless, I would highly recommend this location to locals and travelers and I hope I get to visit here once more while in Utah. 🍨
A neighborhood staple that I love bringing my grandparents to. This neighborhood is delightful, and the corner gelato shop really helps set the tone. Great gelato, amazing assortment of flavors, and the people watching is on point. If you havent tried the coconut sticky rice gelato and those flavors excite you, then I urge you to try it. I dont love the interior decor, but thats just me and it does not reflect on my opinion of the reason youre there in the first place.
Love this place! Ice cream and other desserts are amazing, the different flavors are awesome and the workers are so nice! I go here all the time with family.
Absolutely love this place! The interior is beautiful and eye catching and the gelato is out of this world! Highly recommend the Coconut Sticky Rice Gelato.
Great place for some awesome Gelato! We got the mango sorbet and blueberry white chocolate. As you can see we chowed down our gelatos before I took the pictures LOL. I would highly recommend this place for anyone that is in need of that sweet tooth. I don’t know if they usually have more selections that would only be my suggestion is more variety. However great place to get your GELATO FIX. Follow me on my Instagram page and food adventures. Link and bio coming out soon.
I ordered a cold coffee with some vanilla flavor added. It was a simple but amazing. Exactly what I needed. I must say the atmosphere of the little shop was very pleasant. Definitely a good place to spend some time with friends. Perhaps even by yourself relaxing reading or writing. If you have not been to this place. I recommend you give this place a chance.
Coconut sticky rice and pistachio are by far my favorite flavors here! The customer service goes above and beyond. That is why I continue to come back time and time again. Love it!
Place feels awful with the owner there. The employees always look so stressed when he is there, micromanaging them over their shoulder. Let your employees do their job man, makes the atmosphere way better when he is not there. Straight up not vibing with the decor either. Gelato is good tho.
I found Dolcetti by accident in that I happened to stay at an excellent Airbnb right across 9th South. So I stepped out the door of my room, looked left, and there was the Dolcetti sign. It was Saturday morning at 8:30am but, hey, never too early for gelato. I was lucky I went so early because I walked in, was served right away, and enjoyed their reportedly famous coconut sticky rice gelato paired with some mango sorbet. The owner recommended it and was super nice to me, despite it being my first time. I say lucky because that same night, at 8:00pm, I decided to take my teenagers over there. We stepped out our door and, boom, thats almost where Dolcettis line ended. They had customers spilling down the street. People were willing to wait any amount of time. We went back inside and checked occasionally to see if the line went down. It moved fast, but didnt get smaller. Finally about 9:00pm we joined the queue and it took only about 15 minutes to get served. Again, well worth the wait. The owner saw me back again the same day and thanked me for coming in twice. Anyway, well be regulars now, when were in Utah. You should go.
One of our special places in the 9th and 9th area. At least look inside. It is busy busy busy decor but unexpectedly pleasing. Gelato is available. The coffee is good. Comfortable seating. We just like it.
Quirky but comfortable environment with delicious gelato! I went with a group of friends and we were able to try 8 different flavors. They were all delicious, some had more impressive flavor profiles than others, but all were enjoyed! I was really wowed by the passionfruit guava, coconut stick rice, and cold brew. I would definitely recommend this place to all!
I would really like to know what brand they serve or if they make it themselves in the basement. You know youre not getting turkey hill or hersheys. Just dam good ice cream. Dont know what this gelatto $#!+ is that theyre talking about though.
Wish I had taken pictures to post, but I ate my bowl so quickly! Get the Pomegranate of you like something fruity and refreshing. Youll thank me for it!! Not a heavy sitting ice cream, but light and refreshing! Also, such a quaint and cute place!!
Had a nice scoop. A bit on the pricey side for what it was, and when I visited they were out of Waffle cones.Decor was.... wow, something to see.If you worked at an icecream shop while in school to be a starving artist... this is probably the place youd open.
A+ I had two large gelatos. The best singular flavor was chocolate, pomegranate was also very good. I will try other flavors in the future. Ive had gelato in the past, but I should eat it more often. Gelato seems less sugary than ice cream and the creamy/fatty thing going on is equally as satisfying. Please dont portion shame me because of my two larges, you dont know how many calories I burned today.I also appreciate the eclectic decor. The employees were nice and were working very hard.
Great caffe mocha, friendly service, I like the eclectic interior. Seems like the best thing on 9th and 9th
This place has an amazing coconut rice gelato, cookie and rice krispy treat. The service and atmosphere is beautiful as well. :)
Best gelato I have put in my mouth. The coconut sticky rice is my go to. This place is packed but the line moves quick and the decor keeps you entertained while you wait. Macarons are my favorite in salt lake and the affogato with the sticky rice is amazing.
Place is super cute and the gelato is good. the owner tho really seams to disrupt his employees work flow and set them back when they are doing a really great job!
The restaurant is so cute! i love all the decor and antiques in the shop. they have more than just gelato but i only tried that for my first time. i got a prailine and pecan flavor, and the panacotta one as well, i didn’t love either flavor though which was unfortunate. i like that you can put two flavors into one cup! i also tried the chocolate which was pretty good, not too sweet. and i tried the whiskey one as well which was definitely interesting! i would go back to try more flavors, they have quite a bit, and i would go back to try their baked goods as well!
Fantastic Gelato. Fig and Almond, cinnamon, coconut... lots of great flavors
The best Gelato in town. All time favorite. Highly recommend the Pistachio.
This place is spot on. They have great flavors and they do it well. I always stop by to try something new when I am in the area, and you should treat yourself as well.
I was disgusted to learn that the owners keep a cut of the tips. This is beyond unprofessional--it is dishonest to customers and exploits staff. I dont know a single business in the food service industry that does this.
Such a fun atmosphere! The chocolate gelato was AMAZING. My friend got the affogato and said it wasn’t her favorite, but we’re on the hunt for the best affogato in SLC!
I loved this place! My roommate and I had the coconut sticky rice and amaretto gelato with a San Pellegreno limonata float. I really enjoyed the passion fruit flavor.
First thing on their door is a sign that says “get vaccinated so we can go back to normal.” Two of our family friends died right after getting the vaccine. (They were healthy before) Please stick to gelato and good vibes.
Dolcetti is a quirky gelato store close to campus. It seems to attract more or a college crowd. The vibe was great with the ecclectic furnishings and dorm room feel. The service was good and the staff was really upbeat. Of course, the Gelato was amazing! Portions were great for the price point. Highly recommend.
Service is terribly slow, one girl in training making coffee. Sooo many health violations. The milk was being steamed with a dirty wand! She went back and forth steaming whole milk and milk alternatives never once cleaning the wand. There was a thick layer built up.
This Gelato is amazing, its the perfect dessert place after any meal. Today I came here after lunch and tried the Mexican chocolate and the Pistachio flavors. Thereafter I was talking about it all through dinner, and convinced my friends to come here for dessert. This time I tried the Coconut sticky rice, cuz thats what everyone recommended, but didnt have it earlier. I thought the coconut flavor was rich and creamy, but I didnt really like the hard sticky rice, cuz the rice was hard to bite and would get stuck to my teeth. Overall, I love this place and definitely will be returning to try the rest of the flavors! If you dont know what to get, the Pistachio is the safest option.
Great little Gelato shop. The assortment of flavors was quite plentiful. Prices were somewhat steep but reasonable for the quality and flavor. The waffle cone was a great touch to complete the gelato experience, although it is very thin and you have to be careful not to break it. Id definitely come back with friends in the future.
Such a cute place. Great atmosphere and even better gelato. They have fun flavors to try and most are amazing.
Wonderful place with great gelato and atmosphere. The music, the people, and the mood were all prime.
Delicious ice cream. I am in love
Great ice cream place to visit. If youre in the area and want something to cool you off, or something sweet, be sure to stop by. When ordering, you are able to get two flavors (additional price for more). If youre not sure what mixes well, dont be afraid to ask for their recommendations! Their sizing is also pretty reasonable. I got their smallest size, later thinking it might be too little, but it was honestly perfect for me. Their atmosphere is also very intricate, something you wouldnt see everyday. Definitely will be coming back more often!
Super cute date idea. Great decor and atmosphere
Nice spot. Tasty baked goods and coffee. Will go back!
Super friendly staff for my first time here. I really like the eclectic decor. We spent a lot of our time just taking in all the interesting items. The gelatos we tried were all good. They have done in and everything was clean. I will be returning
The Lime, Grapefruit, Mango, and Guava sorbet are out of this world. Go early cause they might be gone late in the day.
Balsamic on lemon sorbet, tantalizing and an exceptional way to acknowledge your day.
Really cute spot with delicious gelato. Will be back 💖
The gelato must be good from the reviews but my family got coffee there and they poured it out into the flowers it was that bad. Maybe find a better place for coffee.
This place was funky and fun, the gelato was delicious and good portion sizes. My only complaint was the person dipping up my gelato I asked for the chocolate and she gave me some light vanilla colored flavor. I will give her a pass though because were wearing masks and it is hard to hear. I didnt complain I just ate the gelato I was given and it was good.
Excellent selections of treats, informed staff, fascinating atmosphere. Great place to meet up with friends or spend some quality time with yourself!
Mmm. The rosewater gelato was heavenly! Kudos to the owner of Dolcetti and their effort to create an eclectic corner where deliciousness is served by a lovely lady who reminded me of a modern day Frida Kahlo (minus the uni brow). You gotta check out the curious shadowbox table with the mysterious little artifacts in it. Its quite the sight!
Excellent place for Gelato! Ive been here about 5 or 6 times now and everytime I go they have multiple different flavors. Some are staple of course but most rotate in and out. I love that rotation, its a great way to spice it up! The place is clean and original in design, the food is great quality, and the service has been wonderful. This place is also home to the best cup of hot chocolate that Ive ever had in my opinion. If youre looking for a nice place to grab a quick fix for your sweet tooth then give these guys a visit. My favorite dessert stop.
Ive been going to this place for the last 2 or 3 years. The staff is polite and they always come up with super unique and tasty gelato! Some of my favorites have included flavors like lavender, basil, sunflower butter, and honeycomb.
Such a cute location with great decor. The gelato? Fantastic! The service? Simply great.
All homemade desserts. Unique atmosphere. I cant get enough of this place
Very cool looking place. The rice ice cream was not a good texture and idea. Overpriced gelato for what you get. If they gavr you more gelato for what you pay i would give this place a 5 star review.
Charming little place. Good icecream
Went there on a Saturday. The service here is great. This place has an awesome atmosphere. Makes me feel like I am back in Tucson.
I went here as a work field trip, these were my thoughts.Pros- Great selection / flavors of gelato- Good price point for the gelato- Tables and floors were clean- Had a fun / eccentric atmosphere- Passionate / knowledgeable staff- Gelato made in houseCons- Parking was tricky- Got crowded quickly- Seating was a bit helter skelterOverall a fun experience, the gelato was phenomenal, the atmosphere was fun and there was a feeling of a love for the product. I would definitely recommend going or buying some from The Mighty Baker.
This shop is a must visit if you love gelato! Every flavor is distinct and exquisite! Today we had biscotti and chocolate. Both were delicious 🤤. But the chocolate was soooo smooth and rich. Like a dark chocolate fudge cream! Mmm! And thats just the gelato! The shop itself is eclectic extreme, to the point of being a unique piece of art! So many custom and vintage pieces! Its like walking into a pleasantly vivid dream, plus ... Ice cream! And coffee! Trust me, this shop is usually very busy for a reason! The staff is simply a treat, the atmosphere makes any day out special. Just check it out! You wont be disappointed! 💕 I will include photos next time!
Absolutely the best gelato in SLC. Rotating selection of often quite unique flavors. Eclectic, but cozy interior decor. Friendly staff.
A small business with premium options! If you want an authentic SLC dessert option, you won’t be disappointed. Try the Sticky Rice Gelato!
Gelato was average and service HORRIBLE! Owners seemed irritated we’d dare come right before closing! (BTW, we had no idea they closed early on Sunday - This was our first time trying this place). They literally slopped a little gelato in a cup and rushed us out of there, even though there were still patrons eating inside. I also watched them rudely turn away several customers behind us... You’d think! Coming off a difficult year for restaurants with the pandemic, they would welcome any business coming through their door!!! We won’t be going back... Plenty of other gelato places “nearby” that actually appreciate their customers.
This was beyond rude, it’s 10.30 and they close at 11 (updated by them 1 week ago) but: 3 employees chatting amongst themselves, ignoring my girlfriend and I at the door. I even knocked, they kept ignoring us. Wth? They could’ve told us they were closed, but chose to ignore us.
You have to get the coconut rice flavor. Its their all-time favorite, and now is mine too. Their cold brew flavor pairs well with it, but so does the lavender/honey/citrus flavor. That lavender flavor was so refreshing and, interestingly enough while eating sugary desserts, it was relaxing. Ha
In love with the inside of this shop and I have dreams about their coconut sticky rice gelato!
The store itself is really cute. The gelato is good, flavors are authentic. A bit expensive for amount though in my opinion. You get 2 flavors per any size. Would be more worth it if it wasnt covid and can spend time hanging out here.
One of my favorite gelato places in SLC who also offer coffee. The decor is very cozy and cute with mismatched chairs and gorgeous table layouts. Perfect for hanging out with friends. Great spot and its right at the 9th and 9th, excellent location. My favorite flavors here are pistachio and peach. You cannot go wrong with those.
Never thought I’d enjoy eating rice in a frozen dessert but I totally did. This place is decked out in random sculptures, art, and weird “Utah” memorabilia. My favorite sighting has been the Salt Lake Temple adorned with six spiral clam shells on top. It really is a fun destination to grab some different kind of ice cream/gelatoThe owner is super nice, and shares freely his love of the art of making gelato and confectionery scrumptiousness. The lavender macaroons are amazing, so is the drinking chocolate. Honestly you can’t make a bad purchase, everything is delicious. This place reminds me of a ice cream shop in Portland called Salt and Straw. If you have been there, you know the odd pairing of flavors are actually great.
Really good gelato but customer service is slow.
Got a grande but they didnt fill the bottom of the cup! Flavor was good but was a disappointment to have so little for the price paid.
Very tacky place with good ice-cream
Excellent place for Gelato! Ive been here about 5 or 6 times now and everytime I go they have multiple different flavors. Some are staple of course but most rotate in and out. I love that rotation, its a great way to spice it up!
This will always be a favorite of mine ❤️ get the cinnamon flavor if they have it when you go. 👌🏻
Funky fun atmosphere with incredible Gelato. Imaginative flavors.
Cute place! The portion sizes are small and very expensive. I would not go there again.
The Thai Tea gelato was very tasty if you like tea flavor! The pistachio was also yummy! Great environment and great precautions for social distancing! Cant wait to try more flavors!
The sticky rice gelato is the BEST!
