They did the alignment for me but after arguing with me about my tires separating I was told theres no guarantee. Jokes! My tires are wearing pretty good but not separating in any way. I drive my car at the track I think I would know when its time for new tires. This place is a joke, wont be returning 👎

I was having a great time at the Gas Lamp District in San Diego, CA. Until I go to my truck to charge my phone and I see my tire completely flat on my front passenger side. I called AAA and had them put enough air in my tire to get me to a tire shop safely. The closest tire shop was Evans Tire Service. I read the reviews and it sounded like great place. I drove to Evans Tire Shop and they quickly looked at my tire, patched it up, and double checked the tire to make sure there was no more leaks. The service was 100% to my satisfaction and very friendly. They deserve more than 5 stars for their customer service. I would definitely recommend this service to anyone in the San Diego area.

Amazing! We drove into downtown San Diego ready to check in to our hotel and realized we had a nail in our tire. Evans was the closest place. They immediately fixed our tire and then refused payment! Incredibly nice and unexpected of them.

I have purchased tires from Evans for over 15 years, when my wife needed tires i sent her to the nearest location to her work. (normally visit the lemon grove location). This morning when her car showed one Tire at 22 psi i told her to take her to Evans that they would take care of her as she most likely has a nail. She made it to shop and Gill just wanted to add air to it, something we could have done at home. She asked he could take at look at it for nails and he said he had no times as he was shorthanded that she would have to come back tomorrow at 730 am to see if he could help her. She asked if she could make an appt or leave her car there for when they have time. She was trying to accommodate him as she drives 20 miles from work to home. Gill basically rejected her and told her he is too busy to help her out as they have lots of traffic and are super busy no appt, cant drop off car and would need to come back at 730 to possibly be able to help her. In other words we took your money already we dont care about you no more. My wife drives my kids in the vehicle to pickup my kids to and from school. I have trusted Evans for years but this simple action of disregarding the safety of my family is very upsetting.

My experience at Evans was superb! My husband and I dropped my off car in the late morning for a replacement and installment of a tire. Gill at Evans tended to us right away, was transparent about pricing and predicted it would take about 45 mins to replace the tire. I went to a place earlier the same day and they said they couldn’t rotate my tires because their lifts couldn’t hold my truck (which is full sized, but all stock) every place I have gone to has had some weird reason I didn’t want to return, but I can assure you the staff here is on point and will take care of you. I wanted to leave a note about my experience today at Evans Tire with special thanks to Omar. They provided an amazing deal through a Memorial Day Weekend Special but more importantly the true spirit of customer service. I reached out to them because of a recommendation and it certainly proved true. This is one of those small downtown legacy businesses thats not fancy and tucked away in a small parcel over by the Civic Center and the freeway but you can tell they know there business but their primary concern is taking care of each customer on an individual basis. When I dropped off the car I can see they were running a lighter staff for the Memorial Day weekend but he had the car done in a timely manner and this is where the customer service part comes in. Thats because I was the bad customer and ended up not getting back to the shop until about 20 minutes until after they were supposed to close. Omar waited for me after giving me a check-in call to see if I was on my way. He graciously didnt make an issue of my bad travel time management skills for making my return by trolley and on foot 🙈.On the logistics side they have nice website for checking their available inventory based on direct tire sizes and brand or vehicle. When I called the confirm and see if I could get a quick appointment the gentleman (Michael) on the phone was even more helpful. He confirmed they had my chosen tire in local inventory and had them delivered to the downtown store for a next-day appointment. On value, their tire prices include road hazard repair or replacement and free tire life rotation and were within just a few dollars of all the Internet and Tire Rack type tire providers and at least $10 per tire cheaper than the dealership.Im sure its been tough for them during the pandemic but hopefully a business like this was supported by their faithful customers which I plan now to be. Good value place to get tires. Staff is very friendly and understanding. They have English and Spanish speakers. You can also get alignment done here as well, which is great when you are getting 4 new tires. They always give you a warranty which I highly recommend as I had to come back due to getting nails in my tire. I ended up having to get a new tire which was covered by the warranty. All I had to do was pay for installation which was barely anything compared to having to buy a brand new tire. Wait times depending on how busy they are can be anywhere from 30min at a min up to a couple hours. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to get new tires.

Had purchased tires here before. And they’ve patched a leaky tire for me in the past too. Previously my experience was very good, but this time around I felt nickel and dimed for an alignment after I had already negotiated an “out the door” price for a premium set of tires. And when I spoke with the manager to complain I felt like I was in a Simpsons parody about not allowing me to drive away with tires out of alignment. Don’t take it personally Pablo, any industry that runs “Four tires for the price of two,” but oh yeah we doubled the price of two tires, can’t be that ethical. Sucks because I was hoping that I found my tire dealer, but it’s back to Costco for us next time.

Best tire shop in downtown San Diego! I had a blown out in my truck in the middle of the night in downtown San Diego and limped the rig over to their lot. The owner/manager got there at 5:45 a.m. and help me change out my tire and get back on the road.

I was in a bind with a tire that had a leak in it. I pulled into Evans Tire in Downtown San Diego and they fixed it right away. They would not let me pay a thing. They were kind courteous and efficient. I dont live close but I will go out of my way to go back and buy tires from them. Great people!

I’ve been going to these guys for over a decade. They never disappoint. They always tell you how it is straight up. They explain the best way to get the most mileage out of your tires. They also have flat repair service and guarantee almost all of their work. I would highly recommend them.

I have been to several Evans Tires for service from Escondido to Chula Vista to La Mesa and this is the best one. Very helpful, friendly and knowledgable staff. 2 new tires in about 30-40 minutes. I took my car into Evans tires yesterday for two problems.1. I needed an oil change.2. My tires have been losing tire pressure over the last week and daily I had to fill them. Normal PSI for my car is 35, my tires were at about 17.I scheduled an appointment online, called to confirm the appointment and explained in detail what was going on with my tires at which point I was told to come bring the car in whenever.When I walked in and spoke to the gentleman checking my car in, I explained again, in detail what was happening with my car. I was literally filling my tires every day with air, we can all agree this is not normal. The gentleman said that they would look for a leak in the tire at which point I requested to be called with this information. I left the car there.A few hours later I received a call requesting to change my air filters. I declined the service because an $8 filter shouldnt cost $49 to replace. Anyhow, at this point I asked what was going on with the tires. They had no answers and said that they would call back. Again, I get another call telling me that my car is ready. So again, I asked about my tires. I was told that they didnt find any holes and just filled them with air on top of rotating the tires so now we dont know which tire is the issue. I explained again that I have been filling them with air every day, I didnt need them to do this. I wanted to find the cause of my tires leaking air daily and get it fixed.The gentleman proceeded to explain to me that living in our location and being close to the water that this can happen. I am no tire expert although I do know that most SD residents arent stopping at the gas station daily to fill their tires. Clearly there is a problem and the reason behind be taking my car to Evans Tires was to specifically have this issue diagnosed.You guys!!!! Would not recommend this Evans Tire location. I recently purchased a brand new set of tires from Alex at 5349 Jackson Drive. Alex took complete care of me and got me a great deal on the whole set complete with a 65k warranty. My tire was leaking on Friday June 4th so I brought it in to the nearest Evans Tire to where I was (the 1st Avenue location). At that time I had not put even 1000 miles on these tires because after Covid-19 hit, I was forced to work from home and rarely drive. I inquired about my warranty on the tires and was informed that because I caused the flat the warranty would not cover it but he would give me a good deal on the pro-rated amount. Unfortunately, the GM tried to charge me over $80 for one replacement tire and claimed the charge was due to releasing the new tire to me and that the state of CA law mandated the fee. This was in addition to a rebalancing fee (except he did not rebalance my tires nor did he use a professional hydraulic lift, he just used a regular jack and switched out the tire). When I went to pay my bill despite these questionable fees, he was outraged when I asked for an itemized list of the fees he was charging me and for his name which he refused to provide. He yelled at me and told me I was horrible and my behavior was horrible and that he would do me one better and not charge me at all and to leave his store. This was not a pleasant experience at all. His business practices were suspect and his professionalism was non existent. If you have any tire needs go see Alex at the Evans tire on Jackson Rd.

Upon arrival to install my tires O.Kelly was not only rude but it seemed like he didnt want to be there. Ive always liked Evan Tires but after today, Im not happy.

If i could give negative stars I would. I have never had such horrible service in my life. At the beginning it was fine but when it came time to pay i was given a different price. Im not sure if it was the manager but someone in charge didnt catch his name was so incredibly rude to me. Id suggest watching video servalance if you have it a hear how he speaks to customers. I’ve been having issues with one of my tires for almost 6 months and took it to Evans and they fixed in 10 minutes! I also decided last minute to get my oiled changed and they were super fast. Amazing service! I got a flat as soon as I drove over the bridge into Coronado. It was Labor Day and almost 3:30 in the afternoon. I live in LA and needed to get home that evening to be at work the following day. I was panicking a bit but Evans Tire really helped to relieve that. Amazing service. Genuinely good manager who went ABOVE and BEYOND for me. He had one of his mechanics literally walk to the lot where my car was to change it. They had to do rework due my wheel being bent. I was only charged once for labor. They are here for all the right reasons. I will be returning for all my car trouble.

I don’t recommend this tire shop. They advertise free tire rotation, then try to scam you into a tire sale on your first rotation. Discount Tire is about the same price and offers stellar service. Evans lost 4 vehicles on one set of tires with me.

Brought ny car in Saturday morning at 9am and they were quick to drive it around to hear the noise I heard the day before and figured out quickly what was wrong with it. I loved the prices, I loved the quickness of the service, however the front desk guy had an attitude so I won’t be back for anymore service because I don’t enjoy dealing with peoples negative attitudes.

New to the area, and wouldn’t you know it ran over two screws on the way to work on a Monday morning. Managed to get my spare on, and commenced to looking for a tire repair shop. The guys at Evans rock, and fixed my tire for me. Highly recommended!

I stopped in to get a tire fixed on my husband’s car that constantly lost air. I was helped as soon as I walked in. They helped me looks for the wheel lock that we both thought I didn’t have at first. They took care of the tire quickly and reset the system in the car. They were very patient and helpful.
