After a long day of work and now blood sugar levels dropping, I decided to stop and try this new ice cream place. It was quiet and clean with one customer ahead of me.I looked over the menu, noticing that they had both sweet and savory flavors. I tend to prefer sweeter things and so I ordered the blueberry goat cheese. Wasn’t sure how I would like it and I have to say it really surprised me with how creamy and flavorful this serving of ice cream was. I like the different options they had and I will definitely be back the first chance I get! Luckily, they are right between where I live and where I work 😜

Fantastic new ice cream place in Mission Hills/Hillcrest! Its all made in house, they said the flavors change all the time and they are delicious! I got the blueberry goat cheese, yum! They have options for everyone: dairy free, gluten free, nut free... All listed on the signs. They are also so nice and friendly and welcomed our pup with a dog pop that he loved! Cant wait to bring some friends and try the shave ice, and many other flavors.

Savory is the perfect word to describe this snack. You can taste the cream and real bits of flavor in every bite. It’s not as sweet as you might expect, but that’s not a bad thing when it’s balanced out with actual flavors and not synthetic sugars. I’ll be returning

My 6 year-old son and I have been going to Dixie Pops since they opened and highly recommend their ice cream and their famous uniquely flavored pops. My favorite is the grapefruit mojito! They have parking in the back and are located conveniently on a corner so it’s very easy to get to. Give them a try, especially on these hot days! -Frances (local Mission Hills resident)

Picked up a Salted Caramel pie and 2 ice cream sandwiches. The Salted Carmel pie is my absolute favorite and every time I bring it to a friend they cant believe how delicious it is. Another favorite part about the new location is the convenient parking in the lot behind the shop. You can get free 30 minute parking which is great!

Really smooth ice cream, super fresh, you can literally taste the fresh lavendar, basil, etc in the ice creams. Highly recommend the chocolate basil, I was happily surprised at how good it was!

Everything they make is amazing. Personally, I love their spicy popsicles like the Mango Jalepeno. My kids love the strawberry and birthday cake ice cream. Their waffle cups are great. And our dog loves their free dogpops. Everyone leaves there happy!

Seriously unique and delicious homemade ice cream. There’s something about the texture (call me crazy) that makes this ice cream stand out from other places - so creamy! I love all the flavors where Dixie adds in chunks of fresh cookie, brownie, cream cheese, goat cheese - anything with add ins! Always so packed and generous with the chunks when she mixes them into the batch.I love that everything is made in house and fresh. Plus my friends who are dairy free can find plenty of options too! The milkshakes are pretty incredible too because you can pick whichever flavor of her ice creams and customize it however you like - my dad is addicted.I craveeee her ice cream pies! Wow! I’ve truly never tasted a desser quite like the pies - the crust is crisp, but soft? And the ice cream flavors pair so well.Do yourself a favor if you’re craving dessert and try DixiePops - there is literally something for everyone - even homemade dog popsicles (pupsicles!) and traditional/kid-friendly popsicle and ice cream flavors if that’s more your style. Oh and she makes shaved ice now too with housemate syrups - nothing artificial!Last but not least, the employees practically beg you to try and sample all the flavors so you never have to feel guilty taste testing!

Amazing ice cream made right on the premises, in a separate area with glass wall so you can see all the equipment and fresh ingredients!Absolutely amazing and unique flavors. Who wants vanilla or strawberry or chocolate when you can get tangerine chocolate shatter; root beer; lemon meringue; and even one with fig???? Fabulous!! When you walk in, check out the chalk board listing flavors of the pints ready to take home too!! We always get a cone and a pint for home!

This is a quaint little ice cream shop next to the corner of Washington St and Goldfinch in Mission Hills. The owner and her employees are nice, helpful people. They have a number of great tasting ice cream as well as vegan options and popsicles. The strawberry goat cheese is really delicate and delectable. Its a bit pricey but its a new, small, one-off shop so that generally comes with the territory.

This place is worth the drive for us, they have the Best, oh Im sorry..I meant THE BEST ICE CREAM IN TOWN! The flavors are fabulous. They are so nice and pet friendly as my puppy loves the DOG Pops they have. Thanks for making REAL ICE CREAM Great Again!

Best ice cream and popsicles in Mission Hills! I love their variety of flavors -- just today they had root beer popsicles, avocado ice cream, and creamy grape popsicles among many others. The ones we got were DELICIOUS and generous in size. Plus you can get a free treat for your pooch while youre there.We love Dixie Pops and are so happy to support a locally-owned business in Mission Hills.

Being in town for a short period of time for a conference, I passed by this place on my walk from the hotel to the convention center every day. I finally got time to try it, and I am so sad that I dont live in San Diego to have access to such great ice pops all the time! Robust flavor and very refreshing, it sure hit the spot in the humidity. You can tell theres a lot of love and consideration put into every flavor combo. Hopefully I can come back again and enjoy another wonderful cool treat. :)

DixiePops was better than I ever could have hoped for!My husband and I are not huge cake people and I have a gluten and dairy allergy which made cake at our wedding not sound very appealing. I am so happy that we found Dixie! She was amazing to work with and helped to create the perfect array of popsicles. She let us mix and match 5 different flavors of popsicles (and said we could add more if we wanted!) and helped us to create a profile that everyone would love.They have mini popsicles that we ended up providing to guests for the toasts to put in their champagne glasses which turned out so cute!These were the perfect treat and we received endless compliments from our guests on the fun twist and great flavors.Dixie delivered them herself in a cooler with ice trays and the popsicles stayed frozen for the whole event.I cant wait to have another event so we can use them again.Couldnt recommend Dixie and her Popsicles more!Thank you Dixie!

Employees don’t wear gloves! Unsanitary and violates health code. Both employees handled money and ice cream/cones with the same bare hands they handled money with. The owners stood beside the counter as this occurred for numerous transactions so clearly they think it’s ok. The male employee also wiped his runny nose on his wrists.With this said, the employees were pleasant.Will not be returning.
