The new owners are moving things around and shaking things up and I like it! I try to come here first as I appreciate that we have such a great shop right here in our community. I mean, youll never visit the box store, then surf with the owner later that same day but I see Joe nearly every time Im in the water and that means a lot to me. That said... Id love to see OBH start carrying an epoxy and a poly resin other than Bondo for those of us maintaining our own boards at home. Having surfing owners, its high time OBH recognizes its blind spot to all things surf. Seriously though SUPPORT LOCAL! These folks are great. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable and were really lucky to still have them in this age of dying retail

My favorite hardware store. Ive been able to get even hard to find nuts and bolts there when needed. I always go here first for any home project I have. Helps that its local as well.

Do not shop here. I picked up a dryer vent cleaning brush from this store, and all of the bristles fell off within 5 minutes of using it as intended. I went back to the store with the product hoping to get my money back, but they said there is nothing they can do. I advise you to look elsewhere for a hardware store that does not sell faulty products, or at least a store that will refund the purchase of a faulty product.

As a landscape contractor, and a fan of old school hardware stores, I love this place. Im convinced its run by magicians, because everytime Ive gone in there, theyve had exactly what Ive needed.

Big shoutout to OB Hardware. My clients purchased a home in Point Loma and the day of closing several window screens were damaged. I brought them down to their shop and had them back good as new just a day later. My clients are beyond happy with the results. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences here.

I can praise this local gem all day, it just the best. Locally owned, recently saved from going out of business, this mom and pop style hardware is the place to go for all of your basic hardware needs. There are, of course, things that cant be gotten from them, and a trip to the big guys is needed, but for specialty tools, basic hardware, plumbing supplies, custom made screens, and nuts and bolts (huge selection of nuts, bolts, screw, nails, etc in the back room), by all means shop here, support local, and reap the benefit of knowing the person helping you wants to actually help you, its their bread and butter.

Awesome local hardware store.... they arent selling palms trees or appliances, but if you need basic hardware this place has the basics and great staff. I worked for home depot and didnt know where anything was located. These guys do.

OB Hardware is always my first stop when looking for things for the house. Not only do they repair and replace screen doors but there is every gadget you could need for kitchen, garage, and all over the house. Thank you for being a part of Ocean Beach and Point Loma for all these years!

Fantastic experience today. Needed a replacement battery for my garage door remote control. The very nice woman employee ( and sorry I didnt catch here name, my bad) helped me open the remote control, find the battery and was so pleasant and helpful! I would give more than 5 stars if I could, OB Hardware, so much better than Home Depot and a bonus is I can walk there from my home and not lose my parking spot!

I want this local business to stay. It almost shut down, but new owners stepped up. The 2 items I bought were priced right in line with bigger, corporate stores. Staff is friendly. Now if they could set up a second cash register, that would be helpful.

This is partly what is so nice about living in OB. This is like a small town hardware store where everyone that works there is happy and eager to help. The man checking me out today actually asked me what my plans were for the day. That made me feel really good. Its so easy for us to become invisible and its really nice to be treated kindly. They were all really sweet to my dog too.

This is a great community resource. The staff is local and knowledgeable. Yes, the prices may be more than Home Depot and they may not always have what you are looking for but I ALWAYS check here first.

I always go here first. They dont have 100 of everything but the pretty much have everything. They know what they are doing and give great advice. Carl has made several screens for me including big sliding door screens and they are great.

It seems odd to select Excellent for all categories but thats how I feel. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. About 25% of the time I go there to get advice on some project. They cut window glass, make window screens, keys (theyve all worked for me), etc.Ocean Beach has a lot of older homes & beach cottages so HD is out if you want something from 1950. I went in there looking for an adapter to go from a 1955 plumbing fitting to modern style PVC. They had it! Ive been a believer ever since.

You can usually find what you need here and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Its a little bit more expensive for some things, but its important to keep it local if you can. Its the perfect place to grab what you need to put a finishing touch on your project.

Very hipster hardware store. I generally dont do too many hardware/electronics projects and my noob-ness about soldering wires and hot glue sticks was not an issue. Very friendly staff and the enthusiasm of maker geeks around me makes me feel this place is like a religion.
