Good, fresh, basic dinner food. Never that crowded or noisey. Recommended. Parking lot is very tight, youll need to be extra careful when navigating.

Ordered the salmon and prime rib steak. The salmon was not cooked through (i.e. raw in the middle) and the steak arrived well done instead of medium-rare as ordered. Powered through about half, but began to feel tortured.Their typical breakfasts were decent though. Definitely recommend sticking with the beaten path here - adventurous choices will be punished.

Mini Gourmet just had a renovation when I visited a couple months ago. I came here for lunch with my friend. The service was ok. And the food was ok too. It is not bad but not as good as it looks either. The lettuce tasted like it has been sitting in the fridge for a while so I didnt finish it.

This site is my first choice site. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this place. when I want to go to a good meal, this is the place that comes immediately to my mind. splendid and all kinds of food and a large list of dishes.generous team, and pleasant mood. In addition to that, the tariff is reasonable. I recommend this spot with no hesitation.

Large portions and friendly staff. Pretty basic american diner food but its not bad. Everything Ive tried has been good but I cant say anything itself is spectacular. We usually go here for convenience, not cravings. Biggest dislike: super close seating. You can clearly hear conversations of everybody close to you.

Mini gourmet has been a San Jose staple for such a long time. Theyve always had a unique menu and the food is delicious. Although the menu has become a bit more limited (vs. previous years) the food is consistently good. The service is also good. They have a very nice dessert section thats always a surprise. I love this place ❤️

My girlfriend and I came here for breakfast. Not so great experience. She got an egg scramble, but made her stomach upset almost immediately. I decided on the pancake sandwich, the pancakes were very bland, no flavor, also one of the pancakes were raw inside. I received sausage links that very good and 2 fried eggs that were also good. The syrup for the pancakes was so bland it was like the syrup was sugar free. Overall not a great experience. We will not be coming again especially after we saw many plates of food go back to the kitchen.

Its always hit or miss, however the last time I was there the service was excellent! I think they have gotten it together. I love the range on the menu, but its been hard on their staff. Being a server myself I was incredibly impressed with the way it has turned around in the last few years! Good job to both the ladies and gentlemen cooking and serving!

Very good place to have breakfast or any meal at any time. Menu has something for everyone. Unless you plan on dining here late at nigh, be prepared for a bit of waiting before servers take your order. Place is quite busy most of the day. Your may not get refill right away.

Classic bkfst with attentive staff and good prices. When asked if they could honor special on website waitress said the owner isnt even aware of it and its a no go! Kinda shocked by that!

Quick, prompt service. Reasonably priced for what you get. Open 24 hours on Friday and Saturday which is so awesome. Newly remodeled and comfy atmosphere.

Only One waitress was there when we went twice. She was great at her job and handed working it on her own very well. The only suggestion is maybe having 1 more server or a host to help her even though she did a great job alone.

A long-standing San Jose staple that is exactly what you would expect from a traditional diner. Good breakfast, good service, endless coffee, etc. They do serve food other than breakfast but I tend to judge diners mostly on the quality of their breakfast items. Parking is a challenge at the popular breakfast/brunch times. Prices are reasonable. It is open late.

Great place to grab some delicious food. It can get a little loud but customer service is almost always great! The cook really cares about the food they put out. My only cons are sometimes the silverware isnt clean, the bathroom is outside and you need a code and the three times I had egg whites there was some yolk in it, I just pushed it to the side because overall Ill come back again and again. Come see for yourself!

I actually loved this place. The service was great. I hear they are open like at all hours. I got hash browns and eggs. It was cheap and they were very speedy with the coffee refills. Thank youuu! It might not be the best for larger groups as its sort of small inside.

Nice little diner with great breakfast all day. Open late. (The hours have been varying a bit, but currently open 24 hours Thursday-Saturday, and 6am-midnight other days.) BLT is also good. As is the little side salad. Other things Ive tried are just okay, but its a nice little place.

Amazing food, even at 11pm. We had onion rings, Western burger and Bistro Steak Medallions. It was a wonderful experience. Great friendly staff. Best of all, homemade key lime pie and German chocolate milkshake. Even the whipped cream was buttery, fresh and delicious.It became one of our favorite places. We’ll come back and bring more people for sure.

The windows offer a charming view and the diner experience is delivered very well. The food is appropriately prepared (I mean... I like it) and the staff is polite.

My grandsons great adventure when visiting is to go to the Mini Gourmet for ICE CREAM. Their eyes just about pop out of their head when the banana splits are being set on the table. The Mini Gourmet is back open after being closed for repairs and we are glad it is. We love it for dinner or for a cup of coffee and pie to catch up with friends.The Mini has been open in San Jose as long as I have lived here - 30+ years and I hope it stays around another 30+.

I came here today for the first time and honestly the food was AMAZING! The service was great our waiter was super polite and kept checking up on us to make sure we were good!! Dont hate it, dont love it. Been twice with co-worker who lives nearby. Have been able to eat everything served, clientele seem to be older, as I think one would expect at a classic dinner. Staff nice enough. Service quick enough. Open quite late, if youre in the mood for typical American dishes after a movie or long day at work.

Good eats and atmosphere, though a bit crowded at times. Tables are put together very close. Parking is limited but if you can get a table the food is tasty with good portions.

Second time eating here and both times the experience was fantastic. The staff is attentive and the diner atmosphere has a moderately upscale feel to it. The food is amazing and each time Ive walked away fulfilled and impressed. Love this place.

Ive been going to this restaurants for so many years even my childhood with family I like the old restaurant better it deserved a five-star it was homie,and staff there was more welcoming. Now after the renovation I dont agree with their food too much out today at lunch I had a hamburger but it wasnt that good but I do highly recommend soups sandwiches desserts and breakfast. lunch time I dont recommend this place, dinnertime and after hours yes I do .

Overall, it was okay. The service was good - our orders were taken pretty quickly after sitting down, the food came fairly quickly and someone came around to check on how we were doing. And it is always a plus when they serve breakfast all day. The food was okay. Nothing special, but not bad. If I was nearby and hungry, I would go there again. But I wouldnt go out of my way, or make an special plans to go there.

Service was great and quick. The food was no bad or anything. It was very difficult to get something that to eat to accommodate a Vegan diet. There are so many recipes for gourmet vegan choices there is no reason why this Gourmet restaurant cannot offer at least two or three items. The service saved this business from two stars.

I sat at the counter across from where the cooks put the food up for the servers to then distribute to customers. Over and over again the cooks would stack new plates of food on top of other plates of food. not the edges of plates but the bottom of plate is sitting on food below. Additionally when cook would reach out to stack or place further out his hairy arm would touch the prepared food waiting to be served. I mentioned this to a woman server, I asked if the plates should be stacked like that. She said not really and walked away. Later I mentioned how gross it was and that the cooks arm hair had touch several plates of food. She looked bothered and I left... Mentioning if leave a review.

The mini gourmet is great! For a place thats open 24/7 the food is waaayyy better than Dennys (is that saying much?). But the mini gourmet has great omelettes, good burgers, decent coffee and oh yeah, theyre open 24/7 so the food only gets better the later youre up.

Went here for breakfast. Its a properly good classic dinner. Service was good, food was good, the whole place was clean and well kept. The only problem is that I live in Texas, so I dont get to come here as often as I like!

The food arrived quickly, and it was prepared exactly as we ordered, the fries were nice and crisp and salted just right, and it was really neat cuz we were literally feet away from the cooks who did a stellar job. The waitress was nice too.

The waiter was attentive with all the customers, checking to see if all was okay and keeping water filled, without being annoying. In addition he steered me away from my initial selection because a customer last week had returned it to the kitchen. I wound up with the chicken and vegetables stir fry... Ive never had such a dish with heavy cumin for a spice, but it was okay, I got used to it.

Wow, small place with big flavor. Had the pork chops and was amazed at how good the plate was with mushrooms, gravy, veggies. Surprise amazing!! I recommend you try something, anything.

Clean diner with a huge menu just dont deviate from the standard diner fair (Mexican and Italian offerings?) And youll be fine. Wait staff is no nonsense and gets you what you need. Its a diner and much better than Dennys or Country Inn plus its locally owned.

Our waitress was awesome I forget her name since it was a few weeks ago but she had a lot of tatoos and was super sweet funny and attentive! I think the place has been remodeled 3 or 4 x I. I called in an order to go, the hostess answering put me on hold for like 4 minutes. I was so hungry I waited anyway. She gets on the phone to tell me she doesnt really want to take our order because someone else called and never picked it up.I told her we live around the corner and would pick it up in 5 minutes she responds scolding me, I am going to get in trouble if you dont pick up. She puts me on hold again and then starts talking to the cook in Spanish about not wanting to take the order! I speak fluent Spanish! She put us on hold several more times. By this time I am just holding just to see how much more rude she is going to be?After 20 minutes I finally get finsihed the order! Next time just say, you dont do to go orders!We are good customers and this makes me never want to order again.

Ive been going here for decades, partly because its open late. The selection is diverse, almost so much that you can never figure out what to eat; although, half the time I order the chicken fried steak. I guess thats a good thing. If youre absolutely starving, you must go here.

The best 24-hour hang out for food. Their menu would make Gordon Ramsey laugh until he peed his pants because its like reading a novel, but its decent food priced right.

Ordered food over the phone, but realize the price was high for what I ordered, so when I arrived I asked the lady who helped me why was it so high, she stated it was because of the toast I ordered 4 slices of bread and it cost $7.98 I ask her to take it off and she refused, by saying I ordered it and she will have to waste it and I told her Im not paying $7.98 for 4 slices of bread she told me that its a restaurant thats why its so high, and continue to try and force me to pay for it, in which I left everything because of toast when she could have just let me purchase what i was trying to purchase now she has to waste everything. Being in customer service at least if it was a waste it wouldnt have been a total waste.
