Be careful about the price they charge. It comes out 10 to 20 bucks more if you dont pay attention. Happened to me thrice. Prices not clearly mentioned some times and the lady will charge you whatever she pleases. Very unprofessional.

If you want to enjoy actual Bangladeshi food, you should definitely go there. It is a small grocery shop plus you can have halim, vegetable curries, meat curries etc. You can also order beforehand. We ordered Chicken roast for a wedding party and it was delicious. I highly recommend it.

Bangladeshi grocery is rare, good to have one in South San Jose..but this place lacks inventory..I tried their mishti doi - awesome . Hisla was good.. but if you are out there to do desi grocery will be disappointed.

I have been buying cooked food and groceries from this store ever since it opened a year or so ago. There has not been a single time when I was disappointed. The cooking quality is consistently superb, the place is clean, the cost better than reasonable, and the people super-friendly. A first-class establishment that offers mouth-watering dishes, ready to pick up exactly when promised. I am grateful I can count on Taste of South Asia so near where I live! A life-saver in every sense of the word, particularly since I rarely have any time to cook.

This is the worst place I ever had such horrible baby goat meat in my life. am very much disappointed. when we went to store the owner spoke to us very nicely and talked a lot about the quality of the meat they sell and said we never find such good meat anywhere in San Jose. We trusted him and took almost 3 pounds but it never cooked after putting on pressure cooker by giving 20 whistles (Pressure cookers intermittently release steam). Cooking for such long time for 20 whistles even bones will be mashed if I would have bought meat from other store. Fresco San Jose goat meat is 1000 times better and lot cheaper than this place, it’s just $4.99 to $5:99/pound. While these guys are selling for almost $11/pound. When I called the owner to give feedback, since he asked me to call if I like it very much, even he didn’t bothered about how much am frustrated and even he didn’t say as a courtesy that bring back the meat I will give different one instead he said come next time after 3 days I will get nice meat. I was totally shocked and irritated the way he talked.Don’t dare to buy goat meat at this place and waste your money.

Fresh goat, chicken and beef at reasonable price. And bonus point for stocking Bengali fishes line hilsa. Their chicken biryani and various kabobs to go are also very good. Glad to have some alternate choices for halal food in Evergreen.

Outstanding Chicken Biriyani - Lucknow/Patna/Bengali style and Chicken roast (tandoori) and kababs and Hisla and Goat curry are yummy. Fresh fried Rohu/carp fish. Fresh halal chicken and goat meat and frozen bengali fish and groceries. Owners are very nice and helpful.
