This is our experience, hope you find this review worth your time. Bassett is a new experience for us we were happy to stumble upon it. Bassett has no TV ads with owners telling us the latest sale of the month, so wed never heard of them. Not exactly a competitor but Jeromes Furniture is nearby Bassett and because of their TV advertising is our reason for going in this area in the first place. We found nothing that suited us in Jeromes, it wasnt for us.Bassett was down the street so we went in.Immediately at first glance, we (my wife and I) were impressed with the selection and overall design of the furniture. It was not the run of the mill Chinese mass production discount brand. In fact a majority of the pieces seemed to have a uniqueness about them. The furniture at Bassett I assume can be found in medium to high income homes. There is a feeling of craftsmanship.We were told that much of it is made in America and to order. Some are made in Vietnam but there is an explanation and story there, as if explaining a good reason and no loss of quality. However our furniture, Sofas, and a dining table set are all manufactured to order, in Virginia. We must wait 10 weeks for arrival.Bassett has a blend of custom made to and less-custom-made furniture, thereby a bit less money. And yet the design is still Bassett, it is their own designs that make Bassett what it is. Our order in total came out to a lot of money. Softer more durable fabrics, stronger frames and a real wood solid dining table with restaurant durability built chairs. It cost us.You want good quality these days, you have to pay for it.At Bassett like other high end, you are greeted upon entry into the store. I normally dont like salesman shadowing me and giving me their sales pitches. I prefer to look around and if I have questions, then I will go find a salesperson. Well, we met Marylin. She is a kind and knowledgeable sales consultant with plenty of years experience. A few key words from her and we knew we were in capable hands. Furniture is expensive no matter where you shop. A consultant like Marylin did the trick. After a few hours of choosing, she made an appointment to come see our house. This is to measure the rooms and take pictures. After a few days, she had us back to show us the furniture we picked out, and what it looks like in our rooms. We sat comfortable looking at a big monitor whilst she showed various set ups and on the fly - different fabrics and carpets. Amazing.This process is better because you can make decisions based on what you see is what you get. No more imagining what your investment in furniture is going to look like.We are sold on Bassett. I recommend going to see for yourself.

We again visited the store last weekend to shop for a mattress. we were impressed with Kaitlyns customer service and knowledge of the Beautyrest line. She was very patient with us as my wife tried all the different models. We shopped other big box stores, and came back to Kaitlyn to make our purchase.

We were looking to upgrade our dining room and looked at many furniture stores. When we arrived at Basset we found an abundance of high quality furniture. We feel in love with the “Bench Made” line and found the dining room set we wanted. Zara was very helpful and let us look around without any pressure. We took Zara’s offer for a “free” interior design to be sure what we wanted would fit with our decor. Zara and Kim came to our home and provided us with useful input on finish and color of our dining room set, along with some suggestions for other items like rugs and lamps. Pretty good selection of quality furniture but man do I hate to be hounded by salespeople. Couldnt look without being interrupted and it ultimately drove us right out the door.

Zara was extremely friendly without the feeling of pressure . She was very knowledgeable and was a pleasure to work with. We planned to just pop in and do a quick walk through but she lead us through the process and we ended up with our perfect couch!

I had a great experience working with Marilyn, an amazing interior designer. She worked with us to help pick out the right colors, styles, and sizes of furniture for our new kitchen and dining room. Bassett provides this outstanding service free of charge.I only wish that we could have seen a visual picture of what our custom made furniture would look like in these rooms. We saw similar styles in the store but some styles were not yet available to see, such as the Bench Made Oak 76 Buffet. We have faith that when our furniture finally arrives, everything will look fabulous.

We frequently shop at Bassett and have loved the furniture and service! We just purchased a sectional couch for over $6000 and one of the pieces was damaged during shipping.I called, they gave me a 3 hour window for a technician to come out. He looked at the couch and said this is fixable. Now you ask... what does that mean?Now Bassett wants to take the piece and repair it. We do not get a new piece, we loose a piece of our couch for an unknown period of time without a replacement. Basically, we have purchased damaged goods at full price. Oh, and even better, I have to take off a half day of work to be present during a 3 hour window so that Bassett can pick up my new damaged couch and repair it and then another half day to get it back.Make sure to inquire before you purchase!!!!!! Better yet, save yourself money and time, go somewhere else. I have never heard of such a horrible policy. I get no refund, in fact I loose money because I have to take off work and Im still left with damaged goods.

Just received our leather chair today from Bassett San Marcos. My husband is raving about it — looks great and is extremely comfortable. It arrived well within the lead time we were quoted and they were able to deliver it the very next day! The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and helpful and kept me informed — even reaching out to the delivery guys to see what time they expected to be at our home within the delivery window. Great product and great customer service.

Donna helped me and my husband pull together the look we had always wanted for our home. She came to our house and was able to create a cohesive look. We were able to choose rugs and fabrics that will complement what we have to create a fresh new look. We loved the professional yet personable attention we received from everyone at Bassett.

Do not purchase this carpet TURIN CHAMPAGNE DTCA beautiful rug but a nightmare to maintain and you cannot clean it without damaging it.We purchased this rug and where told that it was a wool rug and given instructions on how to care for a wool rug. It is in fact a Wool / Viscose blend. Viscose is in fact a treated wood pulp. We have a small dog who did tickle on the carpet. We called Basset to find out how to clean it and they instructed us use a cleaner that was safe for a wool carpet they suggested Woolite carpet cleaner. When we tried to clean it with the Woolite it left a yellow stain. That is when I discovered that VISCOSE cannot be easily cleaned, if you use water or any chemicals on it turns yellow and stains. Long story short is that we paid $2000.00 for a carpet that is now 2 years old and ruined. Basset did say they were sorry.

I have nothing bad to say about my experience with Bassett San Marcos. Julie C. was so awesome and helped me find the perfect living room and bedroom furniture. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted and welcomed to the store. Everyone there was helpful and friendly. Julie took the time to really understand what we wanted. I was impressed by her efforts. She came to our home to measure the space and take photos. Then she gave a presentation with things she thought we would like. Everything turned out perfect. It was all completed and delivered within the promised time frame. The delivery guys were great too! They arrived on time and were very professional and polite. After delivery, Julie followed up to make sure we were pleased. I am so happy with my experience that I am already saving up to redecorate another room in my house with Julies help! We recently moved to CA from Philadelphia and need numerous furniture pieces, Kim at the San Marcos store was very helpful with our first furniture purchase. The service was very good in the store. The white glove delivery service was good but one item wasn’t really checked well and the drawer won’t close on the nightstand. I’ll have to call the store to get that looked at.

After buying and getting rid of two sofas in our family room, that we purchased from other furniture stores, that did not hold up at all after a few years, we decided to go back to Bassett. We purchased our living room sofa and love seat 13 years ago from Bassett, and they are still in excellent condition. We also visited all the other furniture stores in the area and the quality at Bassett far surpassed the other stores. Also, Bassett has a seven year guarantee. No other store has that. Being able to have the sofa custom made to our desires was a huge benefit. Our Design Coordinator, Tricia Haarer was excellent. She was extremely knowledgeable about Bassetts furniture and was very helpful to us as we decided on the right sofa for our needs and wants. She explained clearly the differences in the sofas we looked at, the fabrics, and the types of filling that was available. Tricia was always very kind, very helpful and friendly. We knew she had our best interest in mind.We felt really good about our purchase. So now we are eagerly awaiting the delivery of our beautiful new sofa!

The worst possible experience. We bought five pieces of furniture back in January. When pieces were delivered all pieces had some kind of damage.Table top arrived with an air bubble but CS@ San Marcos claimed was part of the tree. Three months later top was changed, arrived with scratches and without serial number. We had to contact store to send someone to inspect it.Two hinges with doors that could not close properly. Additionally legs in one of the pieces werent painted at the sides. They came yesterday to replaced both but one has a door with a different color.Two sofas also had issues with electricity motor, finally were fixed yesterday.We are stuck with these furniture and they will not take it back.So be warned quality is NOT a part of Bassett Furniture. It is just bad luck to have all pieces with some kind of damage?

The two gentlemen who delivered my chair did a wonderful job getting it in my room. It took a little creative thinking but worked out. Chair looks great.

Our experience with Ricki Murphy at Bassett in San Marcos was very positive and we will surely return when we need to find quality furniture and accessories. There is no high pressure selling. The staff are very interested in customer satisfaction. The manager and salespersons know all their products in detail, even the qualities and construction that make a piece of furniture better than another of the same kind.When we mentioned we would be going to other stores before making the final decision there was no indication of irritation or attempt to dissuade us. Just a thank you for coming into the store and letting them help us. We did return and purchase the sofa, ottoman, and chair. These items were delivered in a timely manner. Our deliverymen, Jose and Jesus, were prompt, well-groomed, courteous, efficient, took care with handling the furniture and even placed the sofa in a few different locations before we settled on one.

So long as the furniture holds up well with time I would definitely come back for future furniture purchases. This was a happy medium between something low end and cheap quality and something high end and really overpriced. The quality and value seemed right here.
