Purchased 3 sets of ductless minisplit 2 years ago. Two of them now has broken main boards/inverter boards problems. Still under warranty but the technician wont honor. Had to order from their designated supplier which is super expensive and you also need to find the right person to do it for you. I have used minisplit system in Asia all the time, everything is easy. I just dont think Midea has the essential network and support in the USA. I have many friends working for Midea in Asia, it is a great company in Asia, but I am very disappointed with the performance of Midea here in the USA
My ductless mini split fan motor already needs to be replaced and I’ve owned it less than 5 years. Customer service was worse than Comcast if that’s even possible. The first person I spoke with told me they would be shipping me the motor free of charge because it’s under warranty. I thought wow, great, they’re so helpful. When I called back following up about this another rep said “what are you talking about?”- apparently midea reps do not order parts you have to order through the distributor. So the first rep I spoke with completely just made it all up no motor was ever going to be sent. (He even asked for my address and said it would be shipped in 3-5 business days) The second rep kept telling me to just “call and order one myself” and was annoyed by my confusion (I said are you not midea?) then finally he said you have to call the distributor not midea and gave me the number. Their user manual doesn’t even have a phone number or even the name midea on it. The remotes are not user friendly at all. Horrible experience and would not recommend this company to anyone. I wrote an email to the company about this and their response said “I apologize for your experience”.
