I was very satisfied with the service. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Even though they are short on drivers right now they still made an effort to give me a ride home while my car was being work on. Also, even though it took extra time for the parts to come in on a Friday(no fault of theirs, it was the dealers fault) they fixed it early Saturday morning and I was back in my car much earlier than expected. Ricks was recommended by a coworker and I can definitely see why. Will definitely be bringing my car back if it needs work again.
If I could give zero stars I would. Horrible customer service, rude employees and shady business. Our vehicle was in a minor accident and was towed to Ricks 66 ( not by our choice ). From there is was 1 game after another from all of the employees there. The Supervisor Tonya was horrible and made it a nightmare for us to even get access to our truck.STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!I dont usually write reviews but I hope that this review saves at least one person from dealing with a horrible situation.AGAIN STAY AWAY AT ALL COUNTS!!! I WOULDNT EVEN STOP THERE FOR GAS!
Vehicle was towed there. Never once was told it would cost anything to look at vehicle so that we could make an informed decision as to how to proceed. Was charged $110 for diagnosis and when asked about charges not being mentioned was told “well, it’s too late now.” Very unprofessional.
The tow driver Joe is excellent, very professional, cordial, and all around AWESOME GUY! 😎
Ricks does quality work. Very happy with the service.
Rick’s 66 towing has provided service for multiple vehicles over the years. For as long as I can remember I have only had EXCEPTIONAL Customer Service!! I am grateful for the friendly staff that are always sent!! Today was no exception...Thank you Jason Kring for driving my vehicle over 190 miles and helping me out!!! Jason, you are great!!! I gave a 5 star Because Jason went over and beyond his way to help me.
Pre-paid for gas. Cashier messed up.Gas pump didn’t shut off at what I paid and I was expected to pay the difference for her mistake.Thankfully I’m honest and told her but I still had to dig out more money. She was rude, unprofessional and I will not use this station again.
Never go there to fix your car, they even forgot to put a part of my car back to the place where it should be. Dont, go, there. Its expensive as well. i dont even want to give then one star, they deserve 0.
Needed a tow and called them. They charged me $80 for a tow when Vics does it for $65 and rude customer service.
Everyone was phenomenal and extremely helpful! I do wish everyone had actually worn masks, but hey, the service was great.
Professional, on time, and quick to get it to the repair shop. I appreciate the fast work this morning towing my Rogue. Thank you.
Excellent service! Thanks everyone!
Awesome customer service and an incredibly experienced service staff. Wont ever take my car anywhere else. Best automotive shop Ive ever taken a vehicle. Thanks to Rick Jr. and all of your employees!
My cars tire shredded and they are who my warranty company had come for a tow. A random person drove by and stopped and put my spare on, thank God. When I called to cancel with them they said they didn’t even have my location or my phone number to see where I was. I spoke to them twice before I called to cancel and waited 40 minutes without them even being on the way. I was on a 3 way call with them and the warranty company, they were repeatedly told my location and given the correct phone number. Warranty company and myself pleaded with them to rush because I was on a busy road with 4 kids and no working AC, not there fault but they basically didn’t even plan on coming. They never would have came if I wouldn’t have called back to see where they were after I would have sat and waited for who knows how long! So awful. Learn how to properly do your job, hire people who know how to take down a location and phone number and get out to people ASAP especially when it’s 80 degrees and kids are involved!
Excellent experience, would recommend to anyone.
Lock myself out at Costcos UGH! the guys in Costcos shop called Ricks for me. great tip. Prompt courteous, professional, friendly. Cant ask for more that!
So last night I was broken down at a gas station just off of 31 North. South Bend Indiana. I called for a roadside assistance. I was given a timeframe within 50 minutes. He was there in 20 minutes. He tried to resolve the issue there. But told me exactly what the problem (most likely) was. And suggested getting a motel and pointed one out that was close to their shop. The next morning they called me and told me exactly what was wrong. They picked me up from the hotel. As I waited in their waiting area they would brief me on the progress. The whole staff is top notch.Thank you all so much for all that you do. Your actions are very much appreciated.
It was 7:00 a.m. on a Sunday. We were in the South Bend Airport parking lot. Our car wouldnt start. We called AAA, they connected us with Ricks. The service was great. Ricks called to let us know when the tow truck would be coming, then called again to let us know it would be 15 minutes later than expected. I appreciated receiving those calls instead of just waiting in the parking lot wondering when (or if) someone was coming. The driver, John, was great. He was friendly and efficient. He had the car loaded in no time. He made the long drive back to our mechanics shop enjoyable. After dropping off the car, he was happy to oblige our request and drop us at a nearby restaurant to wait for our son to wake up and answer our phone calls. :) To top it off, we were pleasantly surprised at the price of the tow. Lower than we were expecting. I would not hesitate to call Ricks 66 again. (Nothing personal, but I hope we dont have to.)
Roadside assistance sent Rick’s after I got a flat with my five year old daughter in the car. Brian called and texted a couple minutes after I hung up with Honda Care and arrived faster than I expected. He was very professional, kind, and efficient. I really appreciated that on a rough morning.
The gentleman who completed our service call was great! Timely, efficient and helpful!
Took my 2007 truck to get looked at because it was shaking when I would hit the brake. They kept it overnight. (I had to call to know they were keeping it overnight) Next day they call me and gave me a quote of $1800. This was to replace ball joints, control arms, wheel bearing, left hub, etc etc. I took it to another shop and got a quote to replace all brakes and a tie rod. Problem fixed & less than half of what they quoted me.
Best tow I ever had. I had to wait but they were busy, so I understand. Their guy *Andy was top notch and knowledgeable and friendly and missed his dinner to get me home. We were talking about car stuff and I learned a couple of things on the way home. It was an emergency tow, but I was sorry that it ended because of the good conversation
My daughter wrecked her car, she didn’t know what to do but they explained everything and we extremely friendly. She is looking forward to getting her car back. Ty for your honesty and kindness
Rick told me what my problem was, I had options of leaving the car overnight. I chose to come back the next day and wait.
Many of the negative reviews are for the TOWING service, and few people are in a great mood to have their vehicle towed, whatever the reason. In regards to the automobile service shop, I had an outstanding experience. it is hard to find a good, honest shop these days where you can simply ask them to perform the work you ask for at a reasonable price. Example, I wanted four brake pads installed and brake fluid flushed. Without hesitation or fumbling with a computer system he quoted me a very fair price and within minutes the appointment was set up. He didnt bat an eye when I told him I had my own parts (I work in the automotive industry). Instructions were followed to a tee, and picking up from the gas station counter was super convenient. I WILL be back soon!
Friendly people and helpful service. Quick in and out with a small problem. Plus, my tech kept me up to date on what he was doing. That was really nice.
I had to help the tow driver move my car because he never learned to drive stick which I feel should be a requirement for anyone in the towing business. Otherwise a fine experience.
Excellent AAA tow experience from Ricks Phillip 66. Was detoured from my usual route to hwy 20 the evening of Monday, July 6, 2016. Something small and heavy must have fallen off one of the trucks around me because it clunked underneath my car and tore up my oil pan. Oil everywhere! Called AAA and Andy from Ricks Phillip 66 arrived in a nice flatbed tow truck. He stopped as he was lifting my car so I could access the damage. I had to have a car the next day so he took me to the airport car rental. He even helped me transfer my stuff from my car. He took my car to the dealership and gave me a courtesy call to let me know he left them a note with the key in the service slot. Andy made a tough situation much better. Thank you Andy. Based on this excellent customer service and experience I highly recommend Ricks Phillip 66.
Car completely died in the middle of a blizzard. One phone call to Ricks 66 and there was a flat bed tow truck there within 10 minutes and my car was on the truck literally in 3 minutes...amazing.This was the second time Ive needed a tow from them and both times they were fast, courteous, and VERY reasonably priced.Turns out my alternator went out...they had it fixed in a day.I have them in my contacts on my cell phone.
Great place to go if you like to be overcharged for the absolute minimum effort. Would recommend only as the last resort.
Two female employees NOT WEARING MASKS. No regard for public health. Ill stick with Marathon across the street.
Ricks was called after my college student was in a pretty bad accident. When my son went to access his undrivable car a few days later, to retrieve his belongings, he had to uber over to Ricks. The folks were so helpful and accommodating to him, even driving him back to his apartment. We ( his parents) wanted to see his damaged car but could only make it in off hours and Ricks worked with us to allow that as well. I cant thank them enough. Top notch service!!
Similar to another review, I got a flat tire out of town and roadside assistance called them for the tow. They found me the tires I needed (none of the tire shops I tried in South Bend had the size I needed). Not only did the get me and my family back on the road quickly, they did so at a good price and didnt take advantage of somebody from out of town that needed a fast repair. Thank you for the great service!
Great experience. We were traveling and our alternator went out. They really worked to help us. They towed us, replaced the alternator, and had us back on the road the next day. They were all helpful, kind, and reasonable! Highly recommend!
If you want a job done half-ass, then go here. I am currently trying to get AAA to contract with someone other than them. Ricks provides terrible, overpriced services. They do not care about the customer. I waited over 2 hours for them to tow my vehicle and they could not wait 10 minutes for me to manually access my shift lock release to put my car in neutral. Then, they make up an excuse that they cannot drive in the alley and they shouldnt even be there. They said, sorry, we cant help you, and got back in the tow truck and drove away. What a complete waste of time. The one star they deserve was to the only competent driver there, who previously towed my vehicle home by driving in the alleyway and unloading my car right on my driveway. Instead, they send some kid to do a mans job. Thanks for the help buddy.
I took a used vehicle in for an inspection prior to my buying it. The sole purpose was to determine if the vehicle would be SAFE to drive and worth any necessary repairs. After keeping the vehicle for over a week, I was told Id buy it.... Upon that recommendation I DID purchase the vehicle. Ricks replaced the battery and another part and I was told about some other suggested repairs that did not seem too out of line. They had failed to perform another minor repair (after being asked twice) so we took the vehicle AFTER purchasing it to another shop. We discovered that it was in such bad shape that it would be DANGER to drive. There was so much rust on the frame that the back of the vehicle could collapse at any moment, there were parts being held together with a coat hanger, a massive oil leak and other issues that I could clearly see when it was put up on the lift. Shame on you Ricks for sending my family out in a death trap. The vehicle had to be junked.
My experiences have all been positive. The usually get me in the next day and call me with total cost before performing any work. One time I even brought my own part to have installed and it was the wrong one. They left the car in the bay while I ran out and purchased the correct part then the proceeded to install it.
Decided to take a chance on these guys last fall and boy am I glad I did!! My sons truck broke down (overheated) as he was heading out of South Bend for a visit home to the St. Louis area. AAA was called and Ricks Phillips 66 showed up for the tow. I figured it was just a busted radiator hose so I called the station and asked them to investigate and get back to me. It turned out to be much more than that. Rick Jr. informed me that the some expansion plugs were rusted out and causing it to leak radiator fluid. I agreed to let them do the work for a couple hundred bucks since it would have cost me more to travel up there and tow it home. After digging into it further they discovered that the head gasket was blown and both heads were cracked. A couple hundred estimate now turned into a couple thousand. After speaking with Rick Jr. and one of the lead mechanics several times, I could tell that they were being up front with me and not trying to take advantage of the situation. Rick Jrs answers to my questions were sincere and to the point. He even let me order the replacement heads on my own which saved me a couple hundred dollars on the repair. The work was completed before the estimated completion date and the truck is running great to this day. (FYI: I was able to confirm that the work they claimed to have performed was indeed completed.) These guys definitely know what they are doing and they do not blow smoke or act arrogant like some other service stations I have dealt with in the past. I would not hesitate to call them again in the future for any of my automotive service needs!!
These people not only hung up on me because they were too busy to tow me but when I stopped in the next morning and complained and said I would be giving them a terrible review on google, i was told not to do that and excuses started flying. Never once did I get an apology and then I was kicked from the store. Never again will this business get mine or my familys money.
Got a flat tire out of town and roadside assistance called them to help. Driver was so kind and informative. Thanks for all of your help!
Asked for oil change in company car. Left with almost 100$ bill. “Air filter was in need of replacement after 3000 miles”. SMH. Hate when places take advantage of this. I apparently need a new air filter every 3000 miles. Not to mention a labor charge for the air filter replacement. Didn’t ask for this. Wasn’t told it would be on the bill.
Was stopping for lunch in South Bend off I-90. Come to find out my rack and pinion actuator was leaking fluid due to blown seal. Directed to Ricks and he had a open bay to look the car over. This was Nov 2, Thursday afternoon. Found the problem rapidly, gave me a quote, I said fix it, got a rental car and was returning the following Sunday. They overnighted a part and the got a call Sat. Am that it was repaired. Picked it up Sunday afternoon as they had the receipt and key in the convenience store thats part of the garage. Everything seemed to work well.Very good communication between them and myself. Upfront, no punches pulled - as you might expect when your out traveling and need assistance. Didnt need to tow so cant comment on that. I was driving a 2002 Volvo S80....not a ready part off the shelf.Did hear from two different locals that they did good work there.Well done.
I had my car towed here through AAA after it died unexpectedly while in drive. Their tow truck driver was nice enough to give us a ride home before taking the car in to their shop. Rick Jr. looked it over and diagnosed several issues which would cost more to fix than the car was worth. They waited patiently for a week while I decided if I wanted to fix it or scrap it. They could have charged me for the diagnostic and also could have charged a storage fee for the time the car was on their lot, but they never did. Clearly they are honest mechanics who wont squeeze every dollar they can out of you.
They came and towed my car in a timely manner. They took a little long on my repairs but Id recommend them in a minute. Really nice people. Check em out
My ball joint broke so I called for a tow truck. I inspected my car while I waited the 45 minutes. There was no liquids under the car and everything seemed to be fine other than the ball joint. By the time the tow truck driver got it in the truck there was transmission fluid everywhere. He had forgotten to take the car out of park and had busted the CV Axle shaft. Even with this obviously beginners mistake the company refused to take responsibility for the damage.Update:After opening a case through AAA they refunded me the court of labor for the part they broke.
My battery was dead and I called them and they came out and jumped my car. The service was quick and the technician was friendly and professional.
Got my car towed by a very nice gentleman with a large white beard. I cannot remember his name but he deserves a raise.
My car died a few weeks ago on a freezing cold day. I called Ricks Auten Road 66 and the were able to get to me and tow me in less than 20 minutes. The driver was professional and friendly. I definitely recommend Ricks!
Had a horrible experience with these people. I had a tire blow out on a major highway and progressive uses them for roadside assistance. It was 85 degrees and had my infant daughter with me. They said it was going to 2 hours or more for them to come out. I called them and spoke to a rude dispatcher that told me it was my problem and they had other things to do and would help me when they wanted to. These are they type of people they are and Iwill make sure to avoid doing business with them at all costs and make sure as many people as possible know about them.
Respectful and Fast 👏🏽🤍
Would Highly Recommend. AAAAAAAAA+++++++++. Great service
Thoroughly disappointed in the lack of management ability and the total lack of capability or willingness to communicate effectively. Customer service borders on non-existent, and costs are not communicated until time of payment.
This place lacks the tools and knowledge to fix most car problems you might have. They method involves replacing several parts to see which one will fix the problem. The issue is that, this may not fix your problems but anyway you still get charged for the parts, which you did not need. They so called computer for diagnosing engine problems is a hand held scanner OBD II, which you can buy online cheaply or rent one for free from Autozone. They will charge you anywhere between $79 to $200 for using this cheap tool. Watch out, this place will reap you.
Quick, clean and pleasant
My wifes Mini broke down in South Bend on a work trip, they were able to get her towed and pulled the car apart and found the problem the next morning. We got parts overnighted and the car back on the road by 12 the next day! Rick Jr. was very helpful and they worked fast! Thanks again.
If u are looking for great service and fair prices well what are u waiting for rick`s is your place.
Awesome place to get your car worked on, many A+ mechanics that are very knowledgeable on any make model car
A driver for this company pulled out in front of me, nearly missing hitting me. I honked my horn to alert him and he proceeded to slow down to almost stopping in front of me as he flipped me off. He then got in the lane next to me to yell at me. I was afraid he was going to try to run me off the road! He then turned his lights on as to respond to a call. I called the company to let them know what their driver just did and the girl on the phone defended his actions and didnt so much as offer an apology. This is unacceptable.
Tow people are good. Dispatchers are stupid, they sent a truck driver out to where I was at waiting to be towed and had him leave and another guy came out to tow me after being sent to the wont location.
My uncle Monte used to work here in the late 80s. Love this place.
One star because you have to . Flat tire call went very wrong . Called another company to finish the job.
The ATM charges for allpoint card users.
Friendly fast service!
The dealer couldnt diagnose the suspensionproblem in a day, but Ricks did in an hour.
