I haven’t shopped at Meijer in such a long time and I have no idea why I stopped! Their staff is always friendly prices are great and it they always have what I need in stock except for the 409 cleaner that I have been searching everywhere for but that is the only thing that I left there with out that was on my list. The lady at the self checkout said that it’s supposed to only be 20 items or less and I was very hesitant about going to one of the cashiers because I am very picky on how my things are bagged. But the cashier that I went to was intelligent and put the cans with the boxes and the cold stuff together. I expressed how grateful I was to have her as my cashier today and she was super friendly and appreciative. Thank you Portage Rd., Meijer for my great experience today.

Excellent place to shop! Good meat selection.

The last 4 times I have shopped at Meijer on Grape Rd in South Bend, I have had to wait in lines like this for nearly 45 min. My milk is cold by the time I reach the register and they refuse to open more than one or two lanes. Even self checkout is backed up. I know there is a shortage of employees, but the amount of workers I see standing around watching is ridiculous.

Checkout Lady TRACY (on Lane 12) was an wonderfully pleasant and friendly person, and she got my $100+ purchase done very quickly, especially considering she told me today was her second day. Her attitude and cheerful demeanor reflects positively on the store. I told her manager to give her a raise as soon as policy permits. 😁The only negative thing I have to say is their dry dog food selection wasnt very good and Im going to have to go to another store to get the brand my dog prefers.Overall, thanks in large part to Tracy, I left in a pretty good mood. 🙂

I adore Meijer ❤️ I even got a job that contracts me out to Meijer to work lol!! I do love Meijer and my job, tho, its nice to have a place thats one stop shop, I was against it a few decades ago but love it now.

Over priced with too many employees that were clearly trained by the CIA. Theyre all unfriendly, and treat everyone as if every person walking in and/or shopping is a trained theif. Relax a little Meijer employees, youre job pays less than McDonalds. Theyve got a nice selection but 2x more expensive than Walmart or any other store for that matter.

First off, I havent been to a Meijer in years. I was used to drink stations and bring able to shop with a drink right there in my hand or in the convenient cup holder by the shopping trolley handle. Secondly, where is the bologna? Searched high and low for the bologna but never found any. Lastly, the checkout line stretched all the way back to the paper towel and toilet paper section. It seems that whatever has changed in just five years is for the worse.

So awesome, cant wait to try the Meijer™️ brand frozen pizza! Such a steal!

Meijer has a great selection of curtain rods! I went shopping with my Mother and daughter, and the merchandise is beautiful. Im looking for an apartment, Meijer gave me great looking merchandise on my tighter budget.

Clean, organized, helpful staff and always have products in stock.

I went to look at outdoor planters for flowers. They were fully stocked with various sizes of small to medium terracotta planters whereas Lowe’s and Home Depot were picked over. I appreciated that the nursery was neat and orderly and prices were clearly marked.

I was patiently showed how to use u-scan. 😀

I love the product Meyers has........ The greeters at the door are really nice😊 so far most cashiers are not so friendly.

The store is nice and clean but the prices for the same items are higher than the Walmart right across the street.

I tend to think of Meijer as a more polished Walmart or a less pretentious Target. You get the same variety and ease of access as Walmart while enjoying the same clean experience as Target, with a price point somewhere in between.

You have to wear a mask, you have to do self checkout and I dont even get an employee discount for doing my own checkout. Then they want me to take this stupid survey and say how great they are just because I wanted to buy some milk and eggs

The store is always empty. Whole aisles just completely bare. The vegan meat replacement section in frozen food is a wasteland that never gets filled. And the wait to self check outs are 15 people deep

I had to stay in the car with the kid while the lil lady ran in to get milk. There was too many empty handicap parking spots. Couldnt park anywhere near the entrance. Although its nicely paved with minimal pot holes the parking lot was full of loud music loving teenagers that must of been high on pot. After a grueling hour the lady finally came out with an overfull shopping cart. Upon arrival at home I soon discovered that there wasnt any milk for the cereal I already poured in a bowl.

Horrid. Middle of the evening on a weekday and they have one cashier for everyone with over 20 items. Plenty of people want to work for a fair wage, but Meijer isnt interested in that. Standing in line with 12 other people while my ice cream melts. The poor cashier is doing her best! Management should be ashamed.

Its Meijer. Doesnt matter what I say. Your still going to shop there. I got a good deal on AstroGlide. The big bottle was $7 and change. THANKS MEIJER !!

I love the meat and produce sections, very high quality foods

2pm on a busy warm Sunday and there are only 3 registers open, not including self check out lanes. We will be waiting for close to an hour just to check out. The line also keeps growing behind me well into the clothing sections almost reaching the fitting rooms. Poor planning on a Sunday by management

I like the cleanliness compared to some of the other big box stores. Produce has much better quality as well.

Ordered 12 things from them on Instacart..they only had 3 of these things in stock. Management obviously doesn’t know what they’re doing. First experience with them will also be my last.

I was unaware of the wonderful meat dept they had in this store. The cuts were fresh and prices were surprisingly low for the quality. I have been in here a few times, mostly for fresh produce. I am glad I explored further into the store. I will be back more often.

I love the fresh cookies that be put out all the time. And the store be clean all the time. The greeters are the best. Even when folks come in been rude there are still nice. With a smile and the pharmacy is the best they are always helpful. If the workers can help you no matter the area they work in. They are gonna help you. They have been very clean in this pandemic. I pray that GOD keep them all safe for been out front. Because if they wasnt working we wouldnt have a place to shop. For food and other things as well. #BLESSED

Portage Meijer is always clean and I always seam to find something I didnt know I needed untill I got there.

Its clean; its fairly well stocked, and the employees are kind and on top of it! We used the meijer shop and scan option and the employee assistant came right away to help us complete our shopping trip.

This is a super nice Meijer. Well lit, spacious aisles, clean and well maintained. A larger variety of products compared to other Meijer locations.

Meijer is great. The only complaint I have is that no matter what day or time you go you will have to stand in line for at least 20 minutes. Lines are always long with no more then 4 lanes open that has a cashier.

I do really like going here.HOWEVER.... EVERY time I have been there since Christmas the lines are ridiculous!! Seems the norm is 3 lanes open & lines that run thru the clothing aisles.Not sure why I keep going, or when I will finally say enough is enough. So they must have some things right

I gave two stars because i went to get items that were not in stockthe bread section was a hot mess, there was barely a selectionthe lettuce section was a disaster too. I mean there was none stocked and when I asked someone he said he would go find someone and never came back.half the self check outs were not working and they had little to no cashiers working registersthe parking lot was so dark. I did not even feel safe and i know the area well, especially around the holidays. LIGHT YOUR PARKING LOT when it gets dark, remember it gets way dark at 6pm. We have lost an hour of light.

ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE IS NIW THAT WE MUST WEAR MASK INSIDE THE STORE, MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO KNOW THAT WALKING AROUND IN THOSE MASK AFTER A WHILE BEGIN TO CAUSE SOME PEOPLE TO BECOME HOT AND VERY UNCOMFORTABLE, ESPECIALLY TO THE ELDERLY AND SOME THAT R OBESE, AND IN SAYING THAT, I WOULD ASK THEM TO TURN THEIR CENTRAL AIR ON AND UP.. I understand it is Saturday so more people are probably out shopping, but the freezer section was low on almost everything.

Need more selection in prepared salads and sandwiches.

The basic stuff is sometimes out of stock which I can find at other stores. Then you see atleast 10 people in the store with no mask on at any Meijer you go to lately. I’m not getting political or pushing my beliefs on this review but an employee asks me to mask up which I keep a bandanna in my pocket while theres 10 or so other shoppers walking around with no mask. I seen them walk in the store and out with no mask in sight the past couple months. If you aint going to enforce it on every customer then don’t enforce face diapers at all! Besides that, it’s a great all around store to shop when stuff is in stock and most stuff is reasonably priced.

I come here all the time. Usually no problems really. Just wanted to give a shoutout to our cashier Kate T. She was super kind, she was extremely fast with her bagging, and just generally a hard worker.

My cashier tonight stayed on after turning her light off and saw 2 more people get in her line and didnt say a negative word to anyone. Props to her and this Meijer for having patient team members! Whoop whoop!

The store itself is fine and have shopped there for years off an on, but Im starting to become disappointed in the pharmacy.I work for a vet clinic and we also have a small pharmacy, our pharmacy tech sent out my medicine for my pet earlier in the day, hours before I was to be off my shift, and we assumed it would be filled, I call and they claim they only just had gotten it, refused to give me an estimated time, and said they would text me. The next morning I FINALLY get a text from them, saying itll be ready after 2pm. It should not have taken this long, I would like to have my medication for my pet asap so I can better help him, but obviously your pharmacy has other plans. 🙄

Was a nice quick trip to get a hoover board for my lil girl. Unfortunately they didnt have the due to the demand for them this year but they were very nice for looking for me. I feel they went above and beyond that night. They had a clean store and were requiring masks to enter.
