Owner Roman is helpful & caring & VERY fair. He took time on the phone to ask questions and look up prices for parts for a rough estimate of what a repair would cost for my TT. I usually like to use the dealer for repair, but I wont go back after dealing with Roman. He looked at the problem with me and showed me what was wrong. Ill definitely be back.Update: repair done very quickly today. It cost me $600 less than what the dealer wanted to fix the issue.

My car broke down at work I had to get it towed. Ive seen this shop in South Plainfield for a while now and Ive been looking for a mechanic to work on my Volkswagen. This place really knows their cars. They had my car fixed within a half hour. The best part was I wasnt charged a million dollars for something like this an emergency repair thats great. Everybody there was very professional well maintained place.After dealing with a couple of bad car repair places this is the best by far! Thank you Roman and everyone that works there!

I brought my BMW to my dealership for a diagnosis after my engine light came on for the 2nd time in a week. I’ve patronized this dealership over the last 10 years with 2 different Beemers. Imagine my shock and HORROR when the total for parts and service quoted was over $6000! The 2nd shock and HORROR was that my extended warranty had run out last month! Agreeing that this $6000 service plan seemed excessive, a friend at the dealership referred me to Roman and his European Motor Service shop for a 2nd opinion. He said that Roman was an expert in diagnosing and servicing European cars and that he was fair and reasonably priced. In fact, this referring party brings his own car to Roman for service and he urged me to go! Imagine my 3rd shock and ensuing GRATITUDE when Roman popped the hood to show me that the wastegate had broken off and that all I likely needed was a small replacement part which was under $500! From the beginning when I spoke to Roman over the phone, until he handed me back my car which runs perfectly smoothly again-Roman was a straight shooter. Roman is “old school.” He wants to keep you in your car and to keep your car running. Both he and his assistant Andrea were friendly and helpful throughout these 2 days. Moving forward, Roman will have my business…it’s worth the drive! I have already referred 2 of my neighbors to him! People like Roman are few and far between...

ROMAN is the man!!! He helped me out with my BMW 3 Series engine failure. He took all the headache of working with my warranty company and getting the claim approved. I am new to this area, even the county. I needed service on my MB C300. Roman was phenomenal! Professional and nice attitude. He always took the time to explain to me about my car and show me things on the car. He even took a video to show me what was going on underneath. The icing on top was that he fixed my lightbulb for free. I had been avoiding night time driving. Finally he took my car to get washed! Check them out...the service is great.

My BMW was showing the triad of death (brake light, 4x4, and airbag light) and Roman resolved my issue promptly and cost effectively.

All good things about Roman and European motors.They diagnosed my car correctly replaced the fuel pump and put in original equipment job was perfect and fairly priced. And one last thing myself being a hardhead sometimes Roman told me to make sure I get gas right away because it was very low and with the new fuel pump it should be done well of course I waited a mile or two extra and I ran out of gas and when I called Roman he came with his own vehicle and put in 5 gallons of gas to get me going who would do that these days.

Before purchasing my Aston Martin, I bought it here for a thorough review of the cars quality. Roman did a full computer code scan of the under chassis, checked trans, brakes, suspension, oil lines, etc, etc. Examined the body for damage, electronics, dashboard function, etc., etc. I found Roman to be very professional and knowledgeable. He gave me a full report of the cars condition and a detailed overview of everything he examined. He was always available to answer questions and explained things clearly. And on top of all that, he was a rather nice guy. I highly recommend this service.

Roman good service

Called the shop because I my 2013 vw gti was giving me transmission problems. I trusted that this place would be perfect considering all the great reviews. Spoke to Roman on the phone and he was really kind and sounded very knowledgeable so I brought it in like he asked on 18th. Long story short he only drove it to tell me what I already knew, the car sat there for a whole week and nothing got done. Also, he continuouslytold me he would call back and never did I was patient and waited but always had to either call him or just show up. I understand he’s busy but I honestly felt like he didn’t care to help me. In the end he tells me I will need a new transmission, didn’t offer to do it for me no quote nothing just go take your car and good luck. It’s not fair I waited this long for nothing.

Great place to bring your car in. Im a college student with a Volkswagen car and Roman with his people do a great job with a reasonable price. Hands down the best customer service I have ever experience in a vehicle repair shop. I called Roman at 8 PM on a Thursday night, he picked up right away-his place was supposed to be closed. We spoke for a while, I drop off my car later that night, and he called me early in the morning to update on my issue, next thing I know, my car was done by 10 am. Wow! We brought our 11 year old Audi in for a few repairs. Roman and Vincent were very knowledgeable about the issues. They changed the timing belt and repaired the air conditioning. Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cant compliment them enough. From the polite receptionist to the expertise of Roman. I will never take my Mercedes elsewhere. My Car began having issues starting, thinking the dealership would know exactly what is wrong I took my 2014 Mercedes, to the Ray Catena dealership in Edison, NJ and what a TERRIBLE idea. They had no idea what was wrong with my car and had to contact Germany to find out what they should do. They had my vehicle for 2 weeks advising I may need a new valve or transmission in costs of $3,300 to $6,600 but first wanted to try out a new key ($330) to cancel out a possible key issue. $600 and 2 weeks later my vehicle was not fixed at the dealership and they made me pay for the key and diagnostic. My brother luckily found Roman, when I called Roman and explained my issue he stated the dealership is not making any sense since your vehicle is drivable, it sounds like you just need new batteries. I couldnt believe it!! And when I finally got my vehicle to Roman thats all it was, my 2 batteries in which he was able to diagnose over the phone! His expertise is amazing and he saved me thousands of dollars!!! I will only trust my vehicle with him going forward. The receptionist even helped me bring my vehicle home since I was driving a rental talk about service!!! I Highly recommend and would give 1 million stars if I could!!!!! This European car center worked well for me they gave me a great price on getting my front shocks done on my s500 Mercedes. Hands down will choose them for suspension work over any shop, they took there time and did a great job. If your debating on going to the dealer I recommend trying them first. Everybody has a great attitude and will give you the best advice for your budget. So dont be afraid this place will work with you and get your European in top shape.

If you are looking for an honest and hardworking group of people to fix your car, then look no further; Roman from European Motor Service is your guy. It is amazing how much he knows about cars, especially German cars. You can see his passion for cars when you step into his office. He practically saved my car after dealership gave me a repair estimate of over ten thousand dollars (not joking) to fix engine oil leak. I wanted a second opinion before I make a decision to get rid of this car since I was not going to spend that much on repairs. Roman confirmed that my car was leaking oil and it needs to be addressed in a timely manner before oil start spreading everywhere.He said his team we will start with replacing gasket housing that has worn off and a very common cause for an oil leak, and if needed we can replace the valve cover. In the end he had to replace the gasket as well as the valve cover to stop the leak. He suggested to change spark plugs as a preventive measure since the car was close to reaching 100k miles. I paid less than one fifth of what the dealership had quoted me for repairs and Im extremely grateful to Roman and his team for saving my car. In addition, he power washed the engine and cleaned the rims for no extra charge!

Crazy experience- I bring my Mercedes E350 in for a 60k service. They compete the service and i go to pick up the car. then they tell me they are checking a few things. Long story is that the Technician doesn’t want to release the car because he is not 100% happy. keep in mind this is a Friday night at 6pm. Long story short theyWant to keep the car overnight and tell me they will DELIVER the car to my house on Saturday. Who does this?Great car service!!!

My e350 had a manifold intake flap broken. The dealer wanted 2K and it would take 4 days to repair. Other local mechanics who were reputable wanted a little less and also 3 days to repair. I contacted Roman and he charged about a third of the what the dealer asking price and repair the car in 5 hours. I drove 230 miles to this shop because it was worth it. Roman and his staff know their stuff when it comes to German made vehicles.

Had my 2010 c300 towed here after a Mercedes dealership told me it needed a engine 10,000.00 plus. Roman gave me a diagnostic over the phone with no promises until he saw the vehicle in person. Left with same engine after Roman repaired it for less than 2,000.00. I would suggest anyone with a German vehicle go here before a dealership!

I was getting check engine light for cam shaft sensor for in 2009 e350 and it became a huge job related to engine. I came to European motor, Romon explained me the problem and convinced me. I gave the service job to him.He was transparent in the whole process. He called me couple of times and showed the problem and what parts he is using. Because of complexity of the job I requested him to take care of personally which he honored.The price I think was reasonable and fair as it was hard to shop around before opening the engine.Based on experience we can trust him.

Quite frankly, I am not a fanatic of Mechanic shops, for most of them are Cons... Better yet, at European, Vince, Andrew, and the rest make feel like a School. Not only they show you what your problem is, but they also explain how it can be further avoided. As for the owner, Roman, with his knowledge and integrity, he always reassures that everything is going to be alright. And indeed, you always gain something from them. I found about them through the dealer that I bought my Benz, and since them, I rather travel all the way up there, from NY to get my car services. Above all, their services are impeccable. If European is not my favorite /Mechanic shop throughout the Tri-State, they are the closest ones.A Must Have...

I’ve had two BMWs and once the factory service coverage expired I found out how expensive the dealers were. In my quest to find an alternative I went to several shops and EMS is hands down the friendlier and most accommodating of all the shops I tried. They’re cheaper than the dealer with friendly mechanics that are honest. They will give you options if they exist, I never leave feeling screwed.

Honestly called around 5 different mechanics to work on my 1994 bmw 325ic and everyone was going to charge me up to 500$ for an easy fixed. I took it to Roman and his crew and he made the fix quick and easy while explaining the steps it took to fix the issue, most importantly he didn’t charge me anywhere near what other mechanics were quoting me. I live in the Washington DC area and have been looking for an E39 M5 in the 500 mile radius and found a great deal on one close to this shop. I googled a few places as was looking to do a Pre Inspection and talked to Roman for about 15 minutes and knew this is the guy I wanted to use. The owner claimed the car was in great shape needed nothing as the pictures and condition of the car looked great. I had him take it to European Motors and Roman found out that it had been hit the rear and was fixed very poor with gaps, filler and the area starting to rust. He found about 5 things wrong with the car as well and I passed on the purchase. This was the best money spent as I could of sunk thousands of dollars into this. I give this place glowing reviews as Roman knows his cars very well

Yes, by the way I forgot to say very important thing.The owner of the shop Roman Zjavin had a very intensive training. No job, big or small-he never refuses to do it.And never fails. And as soon as the job is big, difficult and challenging-thats where he is at the best. The part does not exist- hell make it, or finds the way to use something to replace it. I had issues with my Mercedes GL450, I searched the internet and found European motor service, they had great reviews. I contacted them and spoke to ROMAN, a great guy, a gentleman and a professional. We made an appointment, he kept me up to date with every detail of the repair and handled everything with my warranty company, (even though the warranty company disappointed me) we proceeded with the repairs. This is the best group of professionals I’ve worked with since my time in the US MARINE CORPS. I HIGHLY recommend them for all your automotive needs. I’m having them work on my son’s BMW 330ci.

A Huge Huge Thanks to owner and employees of European Motor Serv. for a little but necessary extra attention needed to repair my car after the mess others made of it.I took my Porsche to another shop where it sat for 18 weeks after multiple attempts to repair it by their unqualified auto mechanics. My car was towed to Euro. Motor Serv. where it was repaired better expected and returned to me in 2 weeks. Some times we have to pay a little bit more for quality as in this case, but the out come was more than satisfactory. Good job guys!Ill be on your calendar again for sure.

Ive taken my cars - both my BMWs - to EMS for about ten years. EMS is not cheap (hey, BMWs, especially older ones, are expensive to maintain) but I always felt I got great service, solid workmanship and a fair price. Roman (the owner) is very responsive and he seems to have many, many long time customers who rely on him, as I did. I recently sold my cars but will return to EMS when its time to service my Fiat.Youre in good hands with EMS.

Absolutely ruined my car. New head gasket broke down....months after it was fixed for thousands of dollars. The dealer fixed it again for thousands more...it cost me an extra $1700..because the head was shaved..Do not take a mini cooper to this establishment!!!

I called European Motor Service on a Saturday afternoon after my BMW 328 iXDrive coupe stalled on the freeway and wont start again. Ramon turned out to be the most customer-friendly owner and patiently heard me out. He gave me multiple options and explained the possibilities that could be wrong with my car. He asked me to have the car towed to him Monday morning which I did and he charged the car up since the battery had died as well. My car thankfully started after that and I was lucky to get away from what could have been an engine failure. After that, he did a full diagnosis of my car and gave me a list of all things that need to be fixed but he didnt charge me a dime for his time. He earned my business for future and I would recommend others with the complexity of dealing with a german car to go to him without hesistation. 5 stars to Roman and his shop for his knowledge, professionalism and customer friendliness. I know where Im going next time I have to do any repairs on my car. Thanks Roman.

Looked at other shops but none of them were as straight forward. Had my Audi A5 serviced for replacement of timing chain/tensioner, and failed turbo @135k. Basically, I had to replace the old chain and tensioner as these are known to break on these cars and damage the engine before fixing the turbo. 7 days since receiving my vehicle, Ive been very pleased w the workmanship from Roman and his team. Got a chance to double check the work last night and it seems to be holding up through the stress of rigorous throttling all week. No more ECU/MIL light for low boost that was originally intermittent. Gave me a fist bump and a big hug at the end, only thing missing was a cake. I highly recommend.

I came across EMS via a google search and read all their reviews before deciding to have them service my Land Rover. There were some operational issues, not workmanship but they were resolved on my followup visit, I wasnt able to pick up my car as expected and I was just a little dissapointed but I got over it. When I did pick up, apart from my car driving absolutely well, my car was cleaned to compensate for not being able to get my car the day before and the auto tech that fixed my brakes also sincerely apologized. This might not seem like a big deal, but for a mother of three little kids, it was priceless. The team at EMS are 100% about customer satisfaction. I appreciate the entire team at EMS not just Roman. Will see you again for my next service. Thank you

Very disappointed with the service. They changed parts on my Mercedes when i gave for oil change. My front head light was different, it was changed and they put a light from a different car with the same model and it had a fog in it.Also after oil change the engine would shut off when the car is stopped. I went there couple of times, he never fixed and told me that the mechanic is on vacation, come after 15 days. Than i took my car to Ray Catena, they fixed it at no charge as the only problem was that while oil change European motors forgot to put some cap.I will never go there, just by passing European motors on park ave makes me angry.

I have been a Mercedes Benz fan for over 15 years, and I must say European Motor Service is one of the best Mercedes Benz guys on the East Coast for sure. Totally knows what hes talking about. Extremely helpful and you can feel comfortable letting European Motor Service work on your car. Its very hard to find an honest and friendly mechanic/ company like Mercedes Benz specially for European cars at a fair price. I ran into European Motor Service on youtube looking to fix my R350 intake manifold and they are the only ones that can actually repair the part that brakes on the manifold. Mercedes benz requires you to buy a whole manifold that coast and arm and a leg. European Motor Service CNCs a stronger then factory part that brakes on the intake manifold. That tells you a lot about the companys dedication and skill on improving parts that fail from the factory. If your looking to repair your Mercedes Benz, BMW or any European car then you really need to try European Motor Service.

Amazing place went over there telling him that my thermostat was broken and with one look he told me the problem and fixed it in less than 10 minutes and showed me that these mechanics aren’t even worth going too and now whenever I need something I’m going to European motor service
