It was cool coming here for the first time all the way from the bay area! Only issue was the younger staff are so Tired and Boring! I tried to make conversation with 2 young staff, male and female, while they looked up parts for me and they both literally said nothing. Like I was the only person happy to be there.. haha

Product and pricing may be good but their customer service sucks. Our order was on backorder and wasnt due in until October. They kept us updated be email which was great. In August we get a post card telling us our order is in and they gave us 24 hours to pick it up or they would cancel the order. Called the store and they basically said they couldnt do hold it until the weekend. We made the 2 hour drive there to pickup the order. Its this kind of customer service which keeps you competition in business.
Been going here for most of my adult life. So 22 years give or take a year. I know the world is changing but before you could look at almost everything you wanted to purchase. Now its like everywhere else, sit and wait in line to see if its what you want. I feel like they just added a step between the consumer and the product. I walked in the other day for a simple part and ended up walking out after discovering I had to wait in the line stretched to the door just to see if its what I wanted. Probably will not go back

Long story short bought some headers from them and some parts were missing. Went down to the store and talked to a guys there that must have been the manager. Well after I told him what parts were missing I tried to buy them and he instead got the parts I needed and gave them to me at no cost! Very nice person. Took care of me for sure! Summit Racing will always have my business for sure! Thanks summit!
First time at this place. Wasnt sure what I was looking for but knew what I wanted. They helped me out got me all squared away will definitely be back .
Its a 100 mile drive for me one way so I dont go very often. all of the counter staff and technical help there is great although on occasion you have to queue up to talk to somebody. As big as his distribution warehouse is they dont stock everything, the only thing I can ding them for. its a great place to just go and browse if you are a gearhead.
Although their computer system is quite antiquated they do have the best inventories anywhere. Some really great stuff as well. I would like to recognize Owen in sales for going extra mile for me multiple times
This store is EPIC and has better deals on many items than the C-Store Auto Parts store.
Placed online order, went to pick up. My order states that I can use my phone or a printed copy of my order and go to the order pick up. Nope I was told to go to checkout to get a receipt. Really? After that go back to order pick up just to be told that I have to wait another 20 minutes because my order is in another warehouse. So lesson learned pay for shipping so that you dont waste your lunch on something that should of been up front ready for pick up. Also no dx engineering showcase. At least I couldnt find it with the 20 minutes I spent in there.

Summit Racing is one of my favorite stores. As a teenager I remember ordering parts for my 74 SS Chevy Nova. Unfortunately I own a telephone pole in California that I put her into. Miss that car. However I now am privileged to be in the same city as Summit. They have most everything any car enthusiast needs and if not they can get it!
Got what I needed. I looked it up before going. Huge selection. All the chemical guys products you could ever want. A little confusing on how to check out. I fell its a little to involved. But its to keep it all organized I guess.

Never had a bad experience in with Summit. I was down in Sacramento running a CMI event to get ready for another one next week. I decided to add more power and pick up some other parts. I checked online first and everything was in-stock.They also carry parts like a regular boring auto parts store but unlike AutoZone, OReillys and others who patrons are more interested in getting to work the next day, you shop at Summit because you love going fast. That doesnt mean you wont be able get to your destination without problems. My car(s) are daily driven I dont believe in trailers and trucks as they take away from the budget for other hobbies.Current car has 60+ drag strip passes on it. 2020 Kia Forte GT.

As a long time summit customer this last order will be my last. Bought an exhaust system and was to be delivered today. i paid an extra $50 for shipping, could have bought somewhere else with free shipping and a lower cost. Now the exhaust is lost somewhere between Texas and California with no idea if it will ever be delivered. What bothers me about this whole purchase was trying to contact summit, was on hold for over an hour to their 1-800 number (never answered my call), sent two emails with no response. Guess Ill just order from who-ever has the lowest final price going forward. No customer service anymore
I purchase many things from Summit for my 65 Mustang. My most recent order were for billet wire separators and some other miscellaneous items, and I must say that Summits shipping was lightening fast!! Ordered on a Thursday, received my items on Saturday and today (yes Sunday)!!! Way faster than Amazon these days.
Guy was really cool. He took the time to look up what I was looking for. Ill go back for sure though.

This shop and its staff saved our truck, and our cross country road trip. After weeks of what year make and model is your car levels of assistance I was blown away by the staff at Sparks, Summit. If youre going to break down, doing it crossing the Donner pass and coasting to Reno is about as lucky as you can get.Not only did the staff know my motor and the parts it needed but because this was a crazy road trip (in a 70 year old truck with a 50 year old drive train) they would pop out on breaks to just hang out while I wrenched on the street! We were overheating so new radiator, electric fan went on. Fried the plug wires so a new set of plugs, wires, and thermal protectors went on. New thermostat, new fuel filters, and the big item was a new timing light to verify and tune the timing (I was 18 deg out!).A staff member offered to help if we were still there when the store closed. They stuck around to help me set the timing! I can honestly say Roadkill was right when they said fastest way to fix your rig, is at the store. Not only did the staff know the parts I needed, they could lookup inside their system to see what was on hand that would work for the fix.When the truck was finally back together and we were headed back out on the road. The staff joked if we could make it to Ohio the other showroom solid patch us up too. A staffer actually left us their number saying if you break down give a call, my grand-kids just went home Ive got some free time.The truck ran perfectly for the remaining 3000 miles of our trip. Seriously they got us back on the road, theyve got everything you could need.
Summit do not stand by you....Installed brand new Holley only for it to fail 4 months later. Float is constantly sticking closed and not allowing fuel through...gas tank is brand new and clean. Have read of Holleys build quality not 100% and cast shavings in the bowl. Called Summit and was told out of warranty....90 days for a carb?...and I am on my own and should re-build it....yeah, re-build a brand new carb. Not happy and probably will stay away from Holley products in the future.....
New staff are helpful. Always good for me with no hiccups with the parts look up or stock. They are always helpful to get you your part from the Reno warehouse or from their other warehouse. If your here in Reno, Nv...stop by...youll find something to buy...haha.

Ive been shopping at Summit Racing Equipment for 20 years. Ive placed countless orders and theyve all showed up within a few days. Prices are competitive and they have priced matched competitors for me if somebody else has a better deal. My most recent order had 2 mismatched carburetor metering rods in the package (likely another customers return got restocked and shipped to me) and a quick chat with customer service got me a brand-new, no-cost replacement. Their customer service is top-notch and Ill continue getting everything I can from Summit.

I dont know why I just dont go here first because they are the ones that always have what I need in town and the prices are fair. Just dont like having to wait in line at the parts counter so I can go to the cashiers counter then over to pick my order up at a different one but over all its a good place to shop

Went there with a friend to pick up an order from DX Engineering. Store was clean and people very polite. Wish DX Engineering has more of a presence there.
Ordering parts and was given an estimated 9/8 delivery on the payment screen then after paying it said 9/13 was the expected delivery date. Well see how it turns out but at this point not really thrilled being given two dates a week apart from one screen to the next.
Order some exhaust and it was damaged it was cheaper at Jegs and wasn’t damaged. They wanted extra money to return because it’s a larger item. Called them and they wouldn’t price match either.
Great service fast and friendly. Lots of people in there, to be expected with the weekend, caused a small wait. But still excellent service =) got my goods!
The employee were very nice, and understanding. So I order a part for my truck and with the pandemic it said he would take longer to get to me. So I was understanding with that and then I called to check the order it was there but I never got an email. When I went in the lady was very nice and also very nice to my son I had with me. I love the system they have when your name pops up and Ill let you know when your part is at the counter.
Ordered some speciality parts online. They shipped same day and the parts arrived next day with automated communication and tracking the whole way through. Amazing experience. I will always shop from summit when possible.

Ordered a steering rack from them. It arrived and turned out they sent me the wrong one. After I sent it back and they sent me the correct one, it failed after a month. I had to go through the process of removing it and sending it back. They told me this model was on back order and would be a month away to get. After a month of being without a vehicle, I asked them to send a new one, and they came back and said it would be 2 months before it would be back in stock. I told them to forget it and give me a refund and ordered a new one from Rock Auto which arrived in 5 days.They were good about covering the costs of return shipping and refunds however would not cover the cost of the fluid and wheel alignment I had to get done for the failed rack, which came to about about $200.So the whole process cost me an extra $200, time and materials for doing the job a second time, and not having a vehicle for month. Buy from Rock Auto! Not these guys!

My Dad moved in with us (Sacramento) from Yakima, WA, via hospice, due the doctors stopping his chemo treatments and giving him 4-6 months to live. His one lifelong remaining bucketlist item was to visit Summit Racing in Sparks, NV (Yes, this was the last thing he wanted to do before he died). On two previous occasions he wanted to go the following morning but when he got up he wasnt ready to go...but on the morning of Feb 21, 2020 he woke up and said he is going to Summit Racing!! Please keep in mind, he is bedridden so this took A LOT out of him. Well, he got dressed and away we went. We got to the store and were greated by the nicest man. However, after that it was rather forgettable. The isles were tough for his wheelchair and when he got to the Cashier counter, we found out the Order counter staff entered in the wrong number so we got the wrong Edelbrock carburetor...fortunately the gentleman at the Cashier counter realized the mistake. This caused stress to my Dad who was wondering what he did wrong; because it took a while to resolve. We got the carburetor and were leaving and when he was getting in the car he said it wasnt quite as great as he had expected. Im responding to this just to ask that in the future when someone comes in, especially a Vietnam Vet, in a wheelchair stating this is his last bucket list item, Summit can you train their staff to be customer focused and try to take it seriously and give that person an incredible experience...whatever it takes to make that person feel special, do it. We will continue to shop Summit, Id just like to see your customer service experience be as top notch as your products!
Came in to buy a part, was told one price, found it on the floor display for more then went to the cashier and was told even a hight price by alot. Should the cashier the picture of the display price and was offered that price. Just seem odd.

Service is lousy because of this covid would recommend buying online and have delivered to your home or your be waiting in line for 45 minutes to an hour.

I have spent more than $20,000 and 20 years buying from Summit. It has always been a good experience. This year I’ve had so many delivery issues, wrong part shipped issues, and arrogant customer service people. Summit doesn’t hire experts any more, and they really don’t care about your experience and loyalty. They filter reviews based on their agenda. If parts break they won’t let you tell anyone that in a review. If they ship you the wrong part four times in a row they won’t let you share that either. Censorship at its finest. They only want reviews they approve. Not the truth.

Summit, well known for their huge inventory and variety of products. Clearly they forgot customer service. I didn’t leave a review after the first couple times in their sparks retail store because I know that everybody has bad days and maybe I got somebody twice who was having a bad day. Well, everytime I go in there, the staff is rude, inconvenienced when asking for assistance locating something and then pawn you off on another guy who’s just as unprofessional and rude.
If you cant find it in store thet have a catalog to order from and online site.
Ordered a D.U.I distributor for my toyota crawler online Jan 25th. Was supposed to ship in 3 to 4 weeks. Now it will not ship until may 25th..
Great experience, was able to walk in with only a short wait. Counterman was very helpful. Purchased and picked up item at counter within a few minutes. Enjoyed the visit.

NO ONE WILL ANSWER THE PHONE. Ive tried calling for the past three days trying to make a $820 rim and tire order. The longest I cared to wait was over 45 minutes. When did Summit stop liking money?

I will keep this concise. They had many parts that I needed and they were in stock. There were several parts associated ready to help AND THEY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT. I stress this because it isnt always the case at other parts stores. Efficient operation. I left with several parts for my classic car. I left happy.
They usually have what I am looking for in stock or they can get it within a few days. Only minor complaint is having to order parts in one line, pay in a another, and then wait in a third line. I think you can skip all that by paying online.
