I bought a rifle from Eric and was very impressed with the fine customer service. He was very responsive and polite. Everything was great! I highly recommend this shop. Thanks so much.
Eric recently did a job restoring several firearms that had gone through a fire. We were able to get the firearms in to him very promptly and he checked the springs and did a quick treatment to prevent further damage until he was able to restore them. He and his team did an awesome job! Highly recommend Mountain Shadow Arms!
If you need a Gunsmith and dont already know one, PLEASE give Eric your business. My Beretta had a slide release issue, and Eric took care of it in a week. The shop minimum is $75 I believe, but I was only charged $20. I wont go anywhere else for service. This guy deserves the business!
Eric has always been punctual and professional. I never question his honesty or fairness in evaluation. First rate firearms dealer.
Had a simple repair in there for 3 1/2 months couldnt give me a time line finally picked up gun owner not very friendly
Quality work by a competent professional. Thanks Eric.
Good luck finding it open
Only gripe is that they arent open more days of the week. It is what it is.
Dont waste your time go to precision combat on Trent!!
Very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly business here. Great experience and I highly recommend!
I took an old Winchester 1894 rifle in need of some TLC to Eric. Two weeks later he gave it back. Talk about a nice job! Eric worked his magic on it and turned it into a nice shooter. So the big question is, would I do it again, take this rifle to him. Hell yes I would, without hesitation. I am very happy with his work, and even happier I found a good gunsmith. Thanks Eric.
Taken many firearms to Eric. Bought matching new Ruger pistols for my daughter (somewhere else), both had issues... they both are now matching and shoot sweet! Eric fixed rifles, shotguns, and more pistols for me. Have not found anyone else that does any better. If you wanna B.S., go somewhere else, if you want something smithed right, see Eric!
I have been using Mt Shadow for several years. Eric knows his stuff and he treats me well. Muzzle brake work is top notch, as well as the work on my Mauser 95. He is busy all of the time, so dont expect to have your weapon back in 1 day. Quality work takes time.
I have worked with Eric for years. He has always been a consummate professional in all aspects of the work he has done for me. I would highly recommend Mountain Shadow Arms.
I’ve known Eric for 8+ years, if you’re looking for off subject chit chat go to Cabela’s store. This guy is a professional gunsmith. I’ve purchased a couple of weapons from him and had some fine work done there. When he’s done with your firearm, it will operate like it’s supposed to. If you want to modify a weapon, he has the expertise to discuss it and will offer his opinions and options. First tier work.
Eric seems knowledgeable and the work is top notch. He took some time with me to answer my questions. Turnaround time was a bit long but I understand that is the case with all the gunsmiths in Spokane. While brisk and no nonsense Eric was never rude and provided good service.
Ive had a terrible experience with eric. Have had him work on multiple precision rifles and the quality of work was sub par at best. If he quotes 200 for work expect to pay closer to 350. If he says 1 month to complete expect 6 months. My last gun was a high dollar prs rifle and was the breaking point for me to find a better smith. Rifle had to be chambered 3 times in order to be safe. The finish on barrel was terrible and a 26inch barrel ended up being close to 23 inches. I wanted the muzzle break left full diameter and he turned it down against my wishes. In the end the gun shoots good but not nearly as good as a $6000 dollar gun should.
I have used Mountain Shadow on a couple of occasions over the last two years for work on hunting rifles. The owner has been very helpful and willing to take time to discuss options with me, additionally he has accommodated my schedule by expediting work. My impression is that he is not trying to sell a lot of product or compete with White Elephant or Cabelas - hes a technician and makes his living working on firearms. Based on my experience he is very qualified and does excellent work at fair prices. Not an overly chatty guy but I think some reviewers are mistaken in calling him unfriendly - hes all business, polite and professional - in my opinion.
I am surprised this business is still open. I took a S&W in to have a hammer nose replaced. I waited a couple of weeks and checked back with them. They told me that they couldnt find the part, but didnt call to let me know. I looked on the internet and found what I needed from Numrich Arms and ordered several as they were readily available. I took the parts they couldnt find to them and they did fix the gun, but I had the same experience with hostile service and will not go back. I like to support local businesses but this one will not get my support. Go to Firearm Finishing for quality work at reasonable prices and friendly service. They dont treat you like you are a nuisance.
Order some stuff on line from another shop, greeted me well and was very nice. I will be going back to have work done.
Always looking for a new gun store. Found this place and went in to be greeted by a glare from the guy behind the counter who turns out to be the owner. From the moment I walked in there he just stared at me at less than 10 away. Never offered to help but seemed irritated that someone was in his store disrupting his conversation with what appeared to be a friend of his. After patronizingly standing at the front counter he offered some help. I asked him some gunsmithing questions. Hes been doing it for a while. I imagine his work is decent, but with the complete lack of service or friendliness I got from him, Id probably find anyone else before I go to him. Heads up folks. You may get good work but itll be like pulling teeth to get anything.
Cant say anything about the owners personality, because I didnt go there for chit chat. I brought the man a brand new 22BR reamer, and a Lilja stainless match barrel. He chambered the barrel and fitted it to my previously trued Remington 700 action. (The guy who trued the action wasnt a chit chat guy either)I shot the first group off a bipod, while laying on the ground. I cut the group out of the paper and gave it to him. Thats how impressed I was. I have killed chucks at over 600 yards, measured using my Leica range finder, with one shot. Last spring, in southern Oregon, the rifle got nicknamed point and click by some friends who tried it out on tiny ground squirrels. Not sure if the owner is friendly every day, but who cares? He does good work, and thats what I paid for.
Took rifle in for scope to be mounted and bore shighted, was happy with the job, done in timely manner, and cost was fair, no complaints, good guy to deal with, took time to explain what he done to rifle when my wife picked up my rifle, as well as calling me on cell day before
Had a counterbored Mosin nagant that need additional boring. He was able to clean it up well and it shoots great. As someone who also works with metal, precision work takes time.
After taking my $1400 rifle in to Brocks for some minor work and having it returned to me INOPERABLE and in worse condition than the problem I brought it in for, I visited Mountain Shadow. He fixed the original problem, and also fixed what Brocks had done in the process of butchering a fine weapon. Mtn. Shadow has a backlist of weapons to build and work on for one reason....hes damn good at what he does. As the owner of many precision firearms, I wont take my stuff to anybody else for repair or modifications.
No complaints, thorough work, attention to detail, knowledgeable source, no b.s.
First rate service.
