Really amazing store! Everything is fair trade. They have a wide variety of items ranging from food to art pieces and jewelry
An awesome little place to get hand crafted items from artisans around the globe. All items are Fair Trade, or I guess the equivalent for crafts...so its nice to know you are supporting the artisans themselves. Definitely check it out!
Nice things and great gift ideas.
I’ve always enjoyed shopping in a Ten Thousand Villages store because of its fair trade policies and unique, one of a kind items they offer. The State College store seems to offer an experience as well once you enter the store. The items are varied throughout the store and seem to catch ones eye as you meander through the collections. The manager is very helpful and knowledgeable, yet, not intrusive. I really like the events planning, such as, the one today with kazoo making. How much fun is that! Great job, 10,000 villages.Keep it up!
Many of the products in this store are up cycled. It is really cool to see things like old newspaper, bags of concrete, or bomb casings given new life.I have found some very fitting gifts for friends and family in this store.
The Ten Thousand Villages State College is just turning a year old. The place is fantastic! Every time I visit the Store I find some new and exciting items. They sell unique gifts, clothing, coffee, chocolate and an array of other products. Best of all everything they sell are Fair Trade Items and their profits go to help Artisans around the world.
The most unique gift shop in town! Ten Thousand Villages in State College carries wonderful home decor, jewelry, clothing, many unusual food items (including incredible coffee with samples always available!), kitchen accessories, spa merchandise, greeting cards, and SO much more! This is the best place to visit when purchasing something different and special - for myself or as a gift. And its comforting to know that all proceeds go to artisans in developing countries who handcraft their goods using environmentally-friendly materials, without using child labor, so that their families can thrive.
Great selection of hand crafted items & fair trade goods.
Best find-a-gift-for-a-friend-a-little-treat-for-yourself store in Centre County
Found this gem while passing through the state college area. I was initially surprised on the excellent selection of merchandise and the fair prices for this being supplied by fair trade artisans. Definitely will be stopping back in for home decor and pastry and cooking supplies.
I think if all profits are supporting workers around the world in need, we should probably start with paying our own volunteers working here at the stote.. they were very helpful with helping me find what I was looking for. Very neat gift ideas and decorations.
Wonderful handcrafted items supporting fair trade with third world artisans, many keeping vanishing trades alive. Ten Thousand Villages is a charitable organization, staffed by volunteers. The crafts have a curated feel, many items are exquisite. A great place to shop for gifts while supporting a worthy cause. Well worth a visit.
This is a great new store in our community. They offer an awesome collection of fairly traded international products. Parking is free and convenient. I love the fact that the store is run by a local non-profit organization.
Very nice place to shop for gift-type items that are very different than in other stores. Nice to give women artisans a hand.
A gorgeous store. Love all the cool little trinkets you can find here. Staff was amazing too.
Great place to shop for a gift. Helpful volunteer staff, great selection of beautiful, quality handmade items, and good mission (helping artisans in developing nations thru partnering and fair trade).
Shopping with a cause. All items are unique and fair trade. The selection was original and interesting. The is a great place to pick up a meaningful gift and something for yourself.
Very nice selection, and good to support living wages instead of supporting slave /sweatshop wages
A lovely shop to find unique gifts that benefit people less fortunate than yourself!
Small but stocked well and great service
