Been a long time customer of 85 degrees. All my familys birthday cakes for the past few years were all bought from here since they opened their store a few years ago. Stopped in yesterday with my 3 year old daughter to get some pastries. My 3 year old asked me to take her to use the restroom. As I was walking over, I was told the restroom is closed to customers and is only for use by the employees due to Covid-19 protocols. Apparently it is a headquarter decision so sorry there is nothing they can do about it. Well, I rushed my 3 year old to CVS which is next door and resolved the little emergency. Thank goodness that CVS doesnt have the same protocol! If you are open for business, you cant prevent your customers from using the restroom, that is basic common courtesy to your customers. Needless to say, this will be my last visit to this bakery.....Upset in Sugar Land!
Last week, I pre-ordered the 8-inch mango creme brulee cake to celebrate my moms birthday. I had a good experience with talking to the staff over the phone. The price was reasonable and I was required to pay in advance, but the staff member explained that they would refund the money if I needed to cancel the order for whatever reason.I love the atmosphere of the restaurant. Unfortunately they are not doing dine-in due to the pandemic. However, I did have coffee and pastries here with a couple friends over a year ago and had a good experience. My mother and my family enjoyed the cake, and I would recommend checking out this bakery! I love the location as well. I think next time we will try out one of their chocolate cakes.
First time visiting. The store is very clean, everything is in it place. They have a variety of items from slices of cakes, full cakes, tarts, breads, and even ready to eat sandwiches if youre on the go. My husband and I decided to try a few different items all were very good. we will be returning to the bakery very soon. We purchased the deluxe strawberry cake, the strawberry tart, and the cheesecake.
Cute little bakery with a Parisian feel. They offer several varieties of breads and rolls. Also available are slices of cheesecakes, cakes, and other delicate pastries. I was quite surprised at the lightness and semi-sweet presence of my pastries. Very enjoyable. However, they continue to present a rich quality. Looking forward to trying other items.
I cant say enough! My boyfriend and I come here A LOT! The pastries are made to perfection, from the cream to the moisture of the bread/ cake. The cream is rich and flavorful, sweet but not TOO sweet. I recommend you get what youll eat that day because it wont be as great the next day losing freshness and that soft texture you get when biting into something soft and moist. I dont really recommend the coffee or the hot chocolate. Ive had the classic hot chocolate 3 times and those 3 times I felt like I was drinking watery chocolate. The cakes are great, but not the next day, so plan on eating the entire cake the same day you get it. The mango slushy, amazing! Its my favorite drink to get there. The egg tarts, perfect, although they taste a lot like custard pie, unless thats what they are too? But its my favorite, with the milk buns and taro something, I forget the name. I highly recommend this place. Try it at least once
Super cute bakery with freshly baked savory and sweet patisseries. I was on the hunt for some good bakery and finally found one. They have great verity if amazing cakes too. A must go !This branch has a beautiful sit down cafe with lot of sunshine coming in. You ca also avail offers if you download thier app. I was first time order and on the app I was offered a free drink .I hope you all enjoy as much as I did
Wonderful breads, desserts, and smoothies. Good, patient, customer service. I am one of their almost 😊 a Senior regular customers and patience when I am fumbling to get their app open by time I am at the register has been appreciated. Thank you 85 C Bakery for being one of the highlights of my week!
The inside is a lot smaller than the Chinatown location. They dont have as much selections but they have the essentials. There are barely any tables to sit at. The lines were a bit long but it went by fast. I noticed they didnt have an employee who would bag your pastries before check out.I decided to get some of their drinks as I havent been able to try it yet. I ended up getting the sea salt caramel coffee and the iced king grapefruit green tea. The sea salt caramel coffee was delicious with a nice hint of caramel. Very simple flavor but tasted so good. The grapefruit green tea was a lot bigger with a giant grapefruit inside. The tea was refreshing and not too sweet at all. Services were friendly. Overall, this location was a nice additional to the 85C franchise.
We were surprisingly disappointed with the desserts from this bakery. This location is always busy and the displays look deliciously tempting. I took some of my workers here and we selected many different options to try a little of everything. All desserts were rather dry and bland in flavor. Very friendly staff, though due to the disappointment with the foods we will not be returning.
Popped in for some bakery goods. We got the big chocolate bread roll, cinnamon twists, and coconut bread. I liked the cinnamon twists and the chocolate roll however I would have preferred the coconut to be a bit sweetened since it tasted a bit bland to me. The egg tarts are a favorite of mine to get at bakeries, but 85C had these super small ones that weren’t worth buying. The bakery section is a bit small for the options and I would like it if they could add more, but not bad. Dessert and drink options available as well with seating area. Decent pricing.
85C BC is nothing short of an experience that will keep you coming back time and time again. They have an extensive menu of all sorts of treats. The location is immaculate, and the staff is very attentive. On this visit, I grabbed a blueberry muffin before heading to school. Let me tell you; it was love at first bite. The texture reminded me of pound cake, and yet it was still crumbly. Also, it was not too sugary nor rich. The blueberries were beautiful, fresh, and just the right amount. I cannot wait until my next visit.
I spend way too much money here. Wish they had a rewards system! Great place for Bubble tea, coffee, and pastries!
Ordered a cake online. The email confirmation said that if you ordered on line and do not intend to pick up anything else in the store you can go straight to the pickup counter which I did. The young lady there curtly (pretty rudely) told me to go stand in the line. With 7 customers ahead of me it was an utter waste of my time .... took 20 min to get something that I should have simply picked up. Staff (at least this specific lady) needs to be trained in courtesy and politeness. There is zero cost to customer service!
This place is alright. The place is always clean but some of the food is delicious while others are not. I have been here at different times of the day and there are times when the shelves are empty and there is nothing to get.
They need to add almond or coconut milk to their menu options for coffee. How do you only offer regular or soy. People may have soy or dairy allergies. Otherwise the coffee is pretty good but when you want a latte with almond milk its not available 🙄
Staff refused to serve me without a mask, didnt care that medically I cant wear one. I had over $30 worth of product and was ordering more for a wake.Compliance is more important than customer service and business. They never have to worry about my money or business.
I love this bakery! Whenever im in the area I always stop by. This place is very clean, pastries are always fresh and good, prices are reasonable, employees are nice and they practice covid safety protocols (masks and gloves). Thank you for always making my trips to your store a great experience.
My favorite bakery! Everything is so good without being too sweet. My favorite pastries are the Cinnamon Twists and the Coconut Twists. The Deluxe Strawberry Cream cake and Mango Delight are my favorite cakes. Their caramel pudding is excellent as well.
Go find a man his name is Jack. I know his name because his co-workers call him Jack. He makes great coffee ever. His way of making coffee is very professional and fast. coming on Monday morning maybe youll meet him, he is very polite.
Everything is delicious here. Its our favorite bakery!
I have been coming to this place weekly ever since they opened. So far so good. I get the same thing every time so it is predictable. Today I thought I’d change up my drink and asked for a recommendation. The cashier helped me with what she thought would be good. Mango coconut pearls. I thought I’d give it a shot and soon realized I was not a fan of it. There is a sign that says “we want you to be 100% satisfied with your drink or we’ll make a new one”. When I asked if I could change to something else, the lady from the back that actually prepared my drink refused stating “You can’t get a new one if that is what you ordered.”So basically if you get something new from their menu, you are stuck!Customer satisfaction score = 0.4 dollar of mango drink = fail!
This is a very nice little bakery serving wonderful breads, cakes, pastries and drinks. Normally, we would go to the bakery at the Hong Kong City Mall, but 85 degrees is a whole other level of tastiness. The customer service here is excellent, and dont leave without grabbing an iced caramel macchiato! Definitely look forward to visiting here again.
This place is amazing but idk this place and the one that use to be in Baybrook they were just never as good and the one in bellaire idk what it could be but all around it’s great just not as good as the one on bellaire facts!!
I just came into the store this afternoon to find a gentleman named Kim who just made my day a bit better. I am deeply impressed by the customer service experience that I had received from Kim and the team there. Kim greeted me and offered me some additional promos and discounts to my order that just put a smile on my face☺ People like Kim help inspire me to keep on doing good❣In addition, he offered the same kind of help to the other customers that were in the line as well😊 Fantastic service and care❤
Really good place go early because by evening every thing is over and try their Spinach danishes and garlic breads
Amazing bakery. First time wife took me and Im in love and the strawberry de leche is FIRE. Would definitely recommend this place. YOU WONT REGRET IT.
By far the best coffee and bakery goods around. Amazing quality and prices. So good, itll make you feel dumb wasting money at Starbucks.
Love the coffee milk butter bread and matcha chocolate buns ☺☺
The strawberry and mango buns were so good. The milk one was average. Good prices and service.
We like the pasteries here, except they feel dry. Maybe they are supposed to be eaten with milk.
I was asked to put on a mask. When I asked why? the gentleman brought out his manager. When I told the manager that the governor had Rescinded that order and that we were free to move about without mask. I told him there was no LAW for me to come in here without a mask, he told me it was store policy. So I said that was discrimination. He said no it’s not. I said yes it is you’re telling me if I don’t dress the way you desire then you will deny me service. that is the very definition of discrimination. He said, “I just want my customers to be safe and myself.” To which I replied you’re wearing a mask so you’re safe. He said I want you to be safe too. I said thats my decision not yours. He replied that it was just store policy. To which I agree a store can make pretty much any policies they want. But I told him that I would take my business elsewhere turned around and left. I have the whole thing on video tape.Folks the only way we stop this insanity is to vote with our money. They are not the only bakery in town.
Great bakery! Also super convenient being right here in Sugar Land. The only other one of these I know of is in Chinatown, and thats kind of a drive for pastries. They also serve boba, so give them a try next time your craving boba.
Good, not great, staff needs to be more friendly and MAD expensive!!
This is a Taiwanese coffee and pastry shop. Got a green salted caramel tea and a black salted caramel tea. I used my own straw (being the earth-loving hippy that I am) and the drink exploded in the cup holder- totally my fault. They were so kind and gave me another drink. Let me tell you. This tea is legit. So worth the visit!! Cute little benches outside Also...I really appreciated their hospitality!! And the tea was very tasty!!
Stopped in here by chance after leaving Jinya. I got the sugar cream cheese bread and the Boroh cream danish, absolutely delicious the bread was so soft and fresh. Im hooked going back today to buy more 😃
They have a goreat variety of bakery goods. There are so many different type of chocolate buns that my daughter loves each one of them
Very tasty pastries, good assortment, wonderful drinks, excellent for our first time. Highly recommend.
I love how fresh the baked goods are!❤
Very bad customer service. The lady at the counter (poppy Chen)had no interest in serving us.She had a terrible attitude. She can’t even look at the customer and say a word Hi.She acted like we are there for some free food.Don’t know why she is there if she is not interested in her job.We thought she doesn’t speak English but she was able to say the price clearly and loud.We wanted to give a big order for one of our upcoming event and this lady made us change our mind. Will never come back to this place.
I love this place; it has an excellent selection of vegetarian bread and pastries.
They have the best jasmine sea salt green tea!!! And egg tart 😋 I can have these two everyday ☺️
All cashiers very friendly and helpfull.
Must try jalapeño cream cheese 🥯 role
Ok quick and easy to select items. Not typical blueberry muffin or cinnamon twist.
Great sweets spot. Love the egg tarts here.
I recommend this. Cakes were very tasty
Popular bakery with beverage such as tea and coffee chain store from Taiwan.
Horrible attitude towards customers. Asked if they were still selling mooncakes nicely and the lady just replied rudely and waved me off. Horrible training if this is how you treat customers.
Clean place a staff was friendly. The desert choices were large and they were very tasty. Prices were decent as well.
OK, this bakery is all I need it to be for freshness, quality, selection and value. The staff is helpful, the product is fresh and the atmosphere is inviting. The delicious brioche taste like what I ate in Paris and a strong contender for other local shoppes that serve the same. They lost a star for the noise level - you have to speak loudly to your table mate because of the music in the background. Overall, that is not enough to stop me going there and recommending them to others.
Looked nice. However coffee we ordered were cold (ordered hot coffee). Second they gave 1 coffee and forgot 2. We ended up waiting like 10-15 for 2 coffees. Taste good though
Great variety @ reasonable prices!
Boba tea smoothies were goodThey have all kinds of pastries and stuffed type pastries and cakes and souffle...checkem out
This place is an interesting experience. From the self serve setup to the selection of pastries. If your looking to try another kind of pastry then you should try it a couple times. There are so many to choose from, you should be able to find something you like. I’ve only had the Carmel Machieto coffee and I thought it was good.
Wife and I tried this place a few times over the past 12 months. Good selection of desserts. Service of staff was good. The cleanliness of the restaurant could have been a LOT better. The place did not WOW me like Dessert Gallery or Empire Cafe.
This is the highly touted Taiwanese company that says 85° centigrade is the best temperature to brew coffee. Because this one is in Sugar Land, it gets 4 stars. It is new, clean, has bright lighting and a good variety of Chinese pastries. Everything looks delicious. The sweets are alright, but its pricey. Guess youre paying for the pretty ambiance.(In Chinatown, theres more competition. My favorite shops are the older, worn looking ones with less choices, but with very tasty savories at great prices.)85°C is a good addition to the mix of eateries going into the newly built-up area around Costco.
Very popular place, my wife said this is an amazing bakery that she’s been to in another city and we must try it. I’m quite impressed by the selection of baked goods, the egg custard is amazing. The sea salt teas are also top notch. Monday’s are buy one get one free!
Really nice place, wonderful customer service and lots of delicious options 😁
It was a very good place just to calm down. Enjoyed the pastries that were provided and the drinks they brewed. I almost fell asleep there thats how much I enjoyed it
Tried this place for the first time. The lady at the counter was pretty rude when I didnt know how the place worked as far as getting your tongs and tray and stuff. The tea I ordered was mundane. The baked goods were not great, I got two pastries that were pretty dry and flavorless, and a mushroom cheese pastry that looked nice and savory but for some reason was made with a sweet bread. It was not a welcome surprise and didnt taste too good.
Mind boggling amount of desserts, beautifully made fresh. Most of their pastries, cakes and cookies are a little less sweet than what you might be expecting and are geared to a more Asian or European palate, which I think is actually refreshing. The espresso based drink options are plentiful, as are the tea options. Great place to bring family and friends. So happy they have a Sugar Land location. Wish they would extend their hours longer
Great and speedy service.
Awesome place. A spot like this was exactly what I was hoping to find after a date night. They have tons of pastries and a interesting selection of desserts. Definitely going back for an espresso!
Love this place!
Great pastries, especially the chocolate ganache ones. The rose milk tea and oolong with sea salt foam were both great.
I really like this place a lot! It does have some of its unique pastry selection, but a good majority of the items are like others youll find in similar establishments. I do love the fresh warm bread that they bring out every so often and I enjoy the salted iced coffee. I like this location in particular because you avoid some of the craziness that youll experience in the Chinatown location. If you want to avoid the lines (or lack of) and someone swiping your pastry before you can grab it, just hit up this location if youre already in the area. Theres plenty of space inside the bakery to enjoy your fresh pastries and delicious coffee, and theres also lots of parking. Its definitely a more relaxed location. Dont get me wrong, theyre still popular and it does get busy, but its an organized kind of busy.
This is great. Pastry are to die for. Love it!
