Must try soft serve place - flavors were rich and creamy, and we really liked what we tried (cookies and cream taiyaki and chocolate flavors). The Ube sample was good too. Friendly staff working there.

I was pleasantly surprised how good the soft serve was. I thought focus would be the fish wafer but the soft serve ice cream is the hero here. I got the milk and Oreo mix with cocoa pebbles. The milk and pebbles combination was a like a yummy cold breakfast! Loved it.

Came here for dessert after eating at Jang Geum Tofu & BBQ next door. The workers were nice and gave us our order quickly. We got the two pack taiyaki (nutella and taro) for $3.95 which came out steaming hot. The texture was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The fillings tasted great!

The ice cream flavors are great. I got to try the milk tea and horchata mix while my friend got the cookies n cream and ube mix (which I got to sample). Both are pretty good choices. The prices for the ice cream are super reasonable. And let me not forget to mention the fish shaped waffle that you can get with your ice cream and a filling for the waffle. Just amazingly tasty. I cant wait to go back and try another flavor combo. And maybe get some extra fish waffles on the side.

The ice cream is amazing and adorable! Not overpriced like I thought it would be and the fish waffle was soft, crunchy and filled with a sauce of your choice. I can never eat plain frozen yogurt again!

The staff here is so kind, they stayed in late to care take of our orders. The waffle was fresh, and the ice cream was loaded with toppings. I recommend the Ube flavor for ice cream.Our only concern was they didnt put much Nutella filling inside.Definitely will be coming again

The ice cream is DELICIOUS- 10/10. However, there is only 1 person working every time I come and the wait time is 20 minutes+. With such a high demand of customers it only makes sense to have more employees working. I feel bad for the workers.

I was so excited to give this place a try but this place has a lot of room for improvement. I ordered a stacked upside down ice cream. I ordered ube and matcha ice cream with a taro filled taiyaki. The ice cream and taiyaki were delicious but I’m giving a two star rating because the $6 price tag is unjustifiable. SomiSomi doesn’t even have indoor seating and the employees were incredibly stingy when it came to portion size. You supposedly get unlimited toppings but when I requested strawberries I got a tiny piece of a strawberry that looked like it was cut into eighths. Also, the cup of ice cream wasn’t very big and the ice cream melted incredibly quickly. If I can’t even sit inside to enjoy the dessert and I’m getting a tiny and fast melting portion, there’s no reason to charge $6.

Ice cream and taiyaki were both good. Recommend nutella and cheddar flavors for hot taiyaki. But you can only buy two or five taiyaki. What if I want a dozen???

Wow! My ube ice cream was delicious, and the fish come had such a nice texture. I love that their menu is small, because it makes it easier to choose. Prices are good for such a unique treat. This is my new favorite dessert spot!

I love Somi Somis Taiyaki with Red Bean and their Cold Brew Floats, today I had with Ube Soft serve and it was so yummy with the cold brew. Another favorite is a Taiyaki with Ube... so good. I need to try the cheese filling next. Always fresh, always delicious.

I decided to try out Somi Somi since I have never done so and it looked good. I went for upside down Oreo. The soft serve was soft, but lacked in Oreo flavor. It was nice and smooth, but the flavor could be stronger. The taiyaki was soft and sweet with Nutella inside. I would have liked a little more Nutella inside. It was very minimal and the pricing for my little treat was high. There is also limited flavors to choose from and quite a small place. I would only go maybe every once in a while.

This business is my daughters and my favorite dessert place. You can order ah-boong (soft-served ice cream on a fish-shaped waffle cone) and taiyaki (waffle fish purse with filling). The ah-boong that weve tried are ube and ube/black sesame swirl. You can put unlimited toppings on the ah-boongs. For the taiyaki, we tried the custard and Nutella fillings. We like all of our choices. Well definitely go again. Weve gone to the Sugar Land and Katy locations.

Glad this place is still around! Service can be slow when they get busy. Taiyaki is usually perfectly made. Ube and milk tea are my favorites. Texture is great. Only downsides are that Ice cream flavors and topping options are limited and dont change often.

Pretty solid soft serve ice cream place. The Taiyaki can be a bit more crispy but the red bean filling was sweet and compliment the pastry well. Ube and berry combo for those who want fruity or Oreo and milk for those who favor chocolate

When you say the shop is going to open at noon, that doesn’t mean you heat up the taiyaki machine at noon. Have everything ready for when you open at noon. It was aggravating to wait 22 min for the machine to heat up.

Love the ice cream here. The staff is always inviting and always tend to me promptly. I come here often just to buy the taiyaki. My personal favorite combination is the Ube Ice Cream with Custard-Filled Taiyaki. My brother also enjoys the Nutella Taiyaki.

This place is super nice, the cashier was very patient since it was my first time and it took me a while to decide on what to get. I got the taiyaki with nutella filling, and it was soooo good and warm! I wanted to try to ahboong but they currently only have the upside down one. can’t wait for the other one to return! It was 10/10 super good

SOMISOMI is the only ice cream I get anymore. I bring all my friends and family here any time they’re in town. This place is unique and the SOMI waffles on top make for the prefect treat.

Somi Somi serves soft serve ice cream with a selection of toppings. Seating is currently limited to outside with a small standing bar inside. Space inside is small so I would not recommend big groups. The soft serve was fine but the standout item is the taiyaki. Mine came out toasty and warm and is filled with a small amount of custard, but you can change the flavor inside for something else. Its a really nice contrast to the cold soft serve. If I go back, its going to be for the taiyaki.

A small location in Sugarland. Its kind of a grab and go dessert so theres not much space to sit. Service was quick and friendly. I have to say that it wasnt as good as the taiyaki I remembered. The taiyaki wasnt fried to a golden brown color or as crispy as I remembered but the taste wasnt bad.The custard was my favorite filling. It isnt too sweet or too blend so it was the perfect balance to the taiyaki. Red bean was also a good filing if you want something a bit more sweet. You really have to eat the taiyaki quick while it was hot because it gets a little soggy and too soft.

What something different in the way of a dessert? Try Somisomi. Softserve ice cream with a waffle fish on top or as a fish cone. Get your ice cream in a cup as well with an assortment of sprinkles on top. Very delicious flavors. Berry is my go to flavor. Enjoy!

Soft serve was good but messy; fish tale was great. Bathroom was nasty and there was no soap, which makes me believe employers havent washed hands (very concerning)

Google says they’re open until 9 pm on Mondays. We drove 40 minutes to get here and it was closed.

Absolutely like that all of their flavors except one are lactose free! I am lactose intolerant and finding places with delicious ice cream is extremely hard. This place is amazing and the taiyaki is extremely delicious as well.

The food is good but service was horrible. I ate there 5-6 times now. the server was being very rude to me. It is unacceptable.First time: I didn’t know I can’t choose 2 ice cream favors in a cup, so I asked for it. Instead of nicely tell me, the guy YELL at me and say “what! It is not on the menu, can you read”Second time: I asked to buy the crunchy fish with open mouth only. The guy heard it wrong ( I paid for 2 ) and make the typical fish. I had a bad feeling that he is making it wrong. So I stop him nicely right at the time he already put the Nutella in. He gave me half eye, THROW STUFF in front of my face, YELL load : “ now I have to pay for it myself” (really?!?!). There were other 4 customers there as well, they could see that.There is nobody else working there accept him. I visited several time, 100% I see him. My experience happened on Friday 2/20/2020, 5pm, I won’t be surprise if this place is closed because of him.

Soft serve had a great texture. We sampled the green tea and ube and went with a cup of green tea and split a 5 pack of taiyaki between 3 people. Tried the cheese, custard, taro and red bean with cream cheese. Taro was my favorite. Second was red bean but I would probably get it without cream cheese next time. We will be back!

Quick service, good variety, and outside the standard Chinatown area youd normally find this kind of place. If youre not into taiyaki, they also do soft serve with a fish shaped, crispy waffle cone.

There are two basic items you can get. Either a taiyaki with soft serve or just taiyaki. If just taiyaki, look to the right of the menu and pick your fillings (3 or 5?). If you want soft serve with it, go to left side of menu and go through steps 1-3, then topping at the end. For soft serve, besides the regular flavors, there are weekly specials. Many of the specials have intriguing mixes; go ahead and ask for a sample.We got ours with soft serve, and picked the upside down version with cup so we werent in a hurry before it melts. One of us got the no cup version and was in a bit more of a hurry (but fun). The red bean filling was good. Want to try custard next time. The toppings werent very interesting; they were more just light finishing touches.The desserts were excellent. The taiyakis were freshly made, warm, crispy outside, fluffy inside, with good aroma and perfectly light flavor. The soft serve had good texture consistency, and the flavors were nicely balanced. We tried various flavors and found them all to be good. There was just enough filling to complement everything else without taking over.Service was pretty good. The woman was very helpful and took the time to explain things to us in a cheerful manner. Another time we went the man looked tired and less enthusiastic, but still it was fine. We didnt mind. They have some outdoor furniture so you can sit outside and enjoy your treats.Excellent dessert place.
