Gary and those guys were unbelievable. After going somewhere else and getting an astronomical quote needing new parts extra labor took it too these guys they got me a free quote looked at it and came in almost a grand cheaper. Done on time so helpful they called the next day asked how it was. Just fantastic. Thanks guys they really give you an honest brake.

Had a 11:30 appointment and waited for an oil change. By 1:00 they still have not brought car into shop yet. When I asked they said next but they filled the empty bay with another vehicle. When I told they to give me my keys back, as I couldn’t wait any longer, they wanted to stop me from leaving but never said sorry for the delay. We’re rude and unprofessional.

Clean, friendly, interactive. But I had an appointment and it took almost two hours for a full service oil change. Then the mechanic noted that the cabin air filter was missing and I had just replaced it the day before. So I checked and it was in place. Notified the desk, mechanic got a chewing and came out and looked. He said it was a mistake and that he was working on two vehicles at the time. I believe it was an honest mistake but glad I didnt pay $19.50 for nothing. He also had noted that I had new tires and he recommended an alignment, but I just had the tires rotated two days ago and the tire shop had said there was no unusual tire wear. So I dont know how he came to this conclusion. General recommendation I guess.

Great! I highly recommend this location. Mark and the crew were so helpful, and especially on an excruciating hot day. They were able to change my oil and filter and check the fluids in my vehicle. They also are able to tell what the temperature your AC is blowing out of the vents. They suggest I get my AC checked and recharged. I will be returning for more services. Thanks Mark!

The store itself was great, didn’t have any issues. But beware of the brakes. We payed extra for their lifetime warranty and didn’t even last us 2 years before they rusted and not drivable. They did not honor the lifetime warranty so now I was stuck buying brand new brakes somewhere else. Money is not worth the cheap quality.

I’ve been struggling to schedule car service for the last year due to a breathalyzer in one of our vehicles. I’ve got an intense schedule to keep and not a ton of spare time. So when I saw the convenience of online booking at this location I took advantage of it. I booked my appointment and selected brake service and had no issues, received a confirmation and everything. When I arrived they seemed surprised as if they were not expecting me and then told me that their online system doesn’t recognize service times and that they couldn’t complete my car today. Obviously I can’t leave it anywhere if I have to blow into it and take a picture of myself any time the key goes in the ignition. I’m incredibly disappointed in the fact that this large of a company doesn’t have their website figured out enough to understand service times. I did not even get to have my car looked at or inspected. An absolute waste of my time. Thank god they don’t require a service deposit. They need to find a staff who can find a more competent solution to this problem than telling the customer there is nothing they can do.

I’ve been to other Brake Masters in the past and truly thought it was a reputable company; but after visiting the Surprise location I felt like it was a sketchy fly-by-night operation.Our check engine light had come on but not with any specific issues noted. Our car was running fine, and we weren’t having any issues what-so-ever but we took it in so that they could check whatever code it is and take care of it.$975 later they told us they had fixed whatever was causing the code and we were good to go. The next time we started the car there was white smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe. My husband said the technician had said that might happen with the clean out that they did and give it sometime.We called back on March 1 (three days later) because the car was still putting out white smoke when we started it. My husband was told that this was normal after the procedure that they did and that it should go away after driving about 300 miles. Since we are not driving often right now it us about two weeks to get to 300 miles. We called and were told to bring it back in. We brought it back and were charged another $69.95 and told that we needed high way miles to clear the smoke.We went on a road trip and the low oil light came on. We discovered that the car was now leaking or burning oil - which it had not been doing before. Weve never had to add oil between oil changes in the length of time we have had the car. We added oil to the car so we could continue the trip and contacted Brake Masters yet again.They had us bring the car back in today 4/14/2021. The technician gave us a new list of items to be fixed. So, I recapped that we brought our car in for the check engine light being on and we leave with a new problem - the car blowing out smoke (and losing oil). He suggested that maybe we put in the wrong kind of oil when we added oil on the trip (despite the fact that it was blowing out smoke before we added oil and after we brought it to them). He also said that it was just a coincidence that the smoke and oil issue happened at the same time we brought it in to them (despite the original technician telling us it was a result of what they did and would stop after 300 miles.Instead of Brake Masters fixing whatever the check engine light was -- they have done extensive damage to our cars engine by creating this oil leak smoke issue. We highly recommend that if you want your car to be treated well you avoid this place!Side note, if you are concerned about COVID contagions, despite their website having a pop up that literally reads, “We are dedicated to your safety and well-being, which is why we are striving to both meet and exceeded the CDC/WHO standards for the prevention of COVID-19.” None of the employees wore masks and they crowded within a foot of me when speaking to me.

Wasnt too happy for my first time in this place. Went in for just a alignment, to have them find a bad cv axle. I feel your policy should be that if you supposedly find a really big expensive issue, maybe bring that person back to see it before you just try to have someone take your word for it, cause for all I know it could be really easy for you guys to wipe the lubricant off of it and then guess what, now I have a bad axle and your trying to gouge me for almost 600 bucks? Ya Im not that dumb. Find someone else to rip off.

So, after spending over $5k on a new motor at Brakemasters, I picked up my vehicle expecting a brand new engine sounding vehicle but unfortunately there was DIFFERENT sounds then before. I had to take my vehicle back to them and had to re rent ANOTHER rental car while they diagnosed the issue. Turns out its not their fault and just what happens when you get a new motor...installed by them. They had my car for over 4 weeks...lots of rental car payments I shelled out and then another because there was still issues. I took my car with the new $5k+ motor to a place experts handle my type of car. They told me i had broken motor mounts, exhaust issues, and oil pump pressure issues (all new issues before the new motor plus now another $2k+ for the new repairs). As much money as I spent at Brakemasters I would of expected better quality and customer service. I really wish the owner will contact me ASAP! I am very disappointed in this locations service. I now have to pay over $2k+ to another shop to right the wrongs at Brakemasters. I would like at least a refund for the extra car rental, the broken motor mounts, exhaust issue, and oil pump issue. I really wish Brakemasters would have just said take my vehicle elsewhere but instead I am dealing with this anxiety issue now.What I write now is days after what I wrote above:After spending now over $10k..5100 for a new motor from Brakemasters for a new engine, over 1k for car rentals since it takes 4 weeks to have a new motor installed, $2500 to right the wrongs from the above previous review I made, then another $1500 I spent to keep my NEW engine from overheating.Brakemasters did reach out to me because of my above review and they offered me $700 for the labor another mechanic shop charged me to right their wrongs to replace the broken motor mounts, cracked manifold, and bad oil pressure sensor along with more rental car costs. Really?, sending me off down the road with the broken motor mounts, cracked manifold, and bad oil pressure sensor is safe for my well being??!! Thanks but no thanks. Brakemasters, keep your $700 hush money.The Brakemasters team and management did tell me that small claims court will only give me $700...I never told them I would take them to small claims court....I dont care about $700 I care about my safety and the potential customers getting car work done at Brakemasters store 185. I find it alarming that Brakemasters management quickly tells me abuut the small claims court guidelines way to well and even when I dont bring up that I would consider taking them to small claims court.. The guy trying to buy me off with the $700 kept bringing up small claims court guidelines like as a threat if I did want to take them to court...what really?? At this point I can careless about $700 and care more about potential customers getting poor service from Brakemasters. I spent over $10k on my car in one month, I dont care about $700 hush money and them trying to get me to take down my google review. Again, thanks but no thanks.

So I went in Monday the 15th of March 2021 and received the most professional treatment from the hole staff the went above and beyond with my wheel alignment. My appointment was at 8 am my truck was in the bay at 8 am. I definitely will visit the Surprise brakemasters again. Thanks guys!

Having come from the BigOTire on Wadell and the 303, I can say the customer experience is 1000x better. I was greeted with a friendly face by multiple members and they were very kind during conversation.

I had the most remarkable experience at Brake Masters this morning. I brought my car in for a second opinion. Their competitor had told me I needed new brakes and rotors. Brake Masters told me and showed me that my brakes and rotors were fine. I probably didnt need new brakes for at least a year, and I definitely didnt need new rotors! A business you can trust. Brake Masters of Surprise, you have my business from now on.

PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS LOCATION AT ALL COST! I recently got an oil change on my 370Z and as you can see from the picture below picture the technicians at this locations are unable to perform basic oil changes correctly. My garage is now stained with OIL because someone couldnt do their job properly by tighting a bolt. I would like to make note I took it to another location (BreakMasters) who called out all the mistakes that were made by this location. I dont expect any place to be perfect but this is the second issue Ive had, so I blame myself for trusting these trash bags again! The last incident they put the wrong break pads on my 350Z with no apology.. no offer for partial refund for labor etc. Stay far away from this bootleg location... sorry not sorry BREAKMASTERS but they have tarnished your brand and I will post my experience anywhere I can to alert consumers!

Great experience at this Brake Masters location! They are very good priced and get the job done in a good amount of time so it doesnt take half your day waiting for your vehicle. They were very professional and even helped me with a small situation on my other vehicle that the shop I took it to before forgot to do. Im glad I took my truck to Brake Masters and I will be taking both my vehicles there from now on.

I arrive 4:30pm June 6th of Saturday. As I ask for an oil change the guy was there turn his back on me and said they are closing and done for the day. Super rude and no consideration whatsoever even they close at 5:30pm. I have never had problem with their staff before except this particular person.You just lost your regular client and probably not coming back to this location.

Came in to get a quote for a minor issue on the car and then Brandon came out to tell us that we also had to change out all brake pads and rotars that we just changed out a few months ago. He then said those changes (which were 600 dollars more than we paid somewhere else) were a suggestion. If you want to be taken advantage of and pay lot more then you need to the head on over to Brake masters were they will look you right in the eye and tell you what you dont need!

I have been taking my 1998 Toyota Tacoma to this shop for about 3 years. They do standard maintenance on it for me, like oil changes, recharging the A/C system, radiator flushes, etc.Prices are reasonable and workmanship is pretty good. Ive never had to return with a problem made worse by them working on my truck.Yesterday, I thought I had a fluid leak because I saw a trail of fluid leading under my truck that ran across the parking lot at Home Depot. I took it in to Brake Masters #185 and told them I thought there was a leak, where and why - they said theyd check it out and let me know.It turned out there was no leak and my vehicle was just fine. An unscrupulous auto repair shop would have jumped at the chance to tell me I needed to replace the master cylinder or the power steering pump at a cost of several hundred dollars. It happens all the time in the auto repair industry.These people were friendly and honest - they didnt even charge me a minimum service fee to have them investigate the problem I thought I had.I would definitely recommend Brake Masters #185 to others. Todays experience has made me a believer that Ill get honest value for my money at this location.

I went to them a while back for an oil change. I had a coupon for them to match. I showed it to the guy and the first thing I was told is, they dont honor dealer coupons. I looked at the coupon to double check and told him it wasnt a dealer couple. He looked at it again and said they didnt have that type of oil. I said I would find another place to get my oil changed. While walking out, by all the bay doors, so anyone could see, were advertisements for that oil the guy claimed they didnt have.Fast forward to today. Having car troubles and called and asked for a ballpark estimate on costs. Basically was told each car is different and they couldnt even give us any kind of estimate. I called a brake masters across town(one my father goes to get get an oil changed all the time), and they gave my an estimate no problem. Told me the cost of labor and cost of the parts. I will never go to this one again due to how horrible they treated me as a customer.

If the reps and/or techs tell you that they are giving you a rebate, ask to see the bad part and the rebate paperwork first before agreeing to the work. I learned this recently after a rep from this shop called me after doing the free front end inspection and explained that the only thing found were my shocks. They were “bottoming out” and needed replacement. He then told me (by coincidence) that their shop was offering a promotional: $100.00 off that day and a mail in rebate for $100.00 from Monroe shocks. The tech emphasized that in the end it would be a total of $200 off, bringing the bill from $600+ dollars down to $400 if I chose to have the Monroe shocks done that day with them.So I agreed to the work and went in later to pay just over $500 to pick up my truck after receiving the $100 off from the shop. The rep also gave me the rebate paperwork to fill out and mail in myself later. A couple of days later when filling out the paperwork, I noticed the rebate was only for $50.00, not the $100.00 the technician told me over the phone.This instantly put doubt in me as the customer….did my shocks really need replacement? I thought back on how long it took the rep to “find” my old distinctive colored shocks when I asked to see them at pickup time. How do I know for certain that they didn’t find them quick, put a grind wheel to the sides and show me the nice very shiny scratches that they pointed to and called “bottoming” out? See how mistakes causes doubt and distrust in repair shops taking advantage of women and elderly? Or was it truly just a mistake?So I called Brake Masters and the rep (one of the same guys I spoke with in the shop at pick-up) at first said I must have misunderstood the promotion. I repeated back with the other rep had told me over the phone…$100 off from the shop the day of install and $100 back with the mail in rebate for a total of $200 off in the end. I explained that I was only calling to tell them they need to be more forthcoming and that I was going to put in a review. The tech then said it was a mistake on their part but if I called the manager, perhaps they could “make it” right. Well I didn’t call, what could the manager do? If it was truly a mistake, there is nothing to do. My advice is to look at all the paperwork beforehand and do not agree without seeing your parts first, just in case their reps/technicians make the same mistake they did with me. For me, trust is a big part of customer service, especially when it comes to costly repairs and replacements. Also…while the rep at the desk was not rude; him trying to be sarcastic/cute with me the customer is not appreciated when I am dropping over $500 in a repair. In fact, it was kind of annoying. Just be truthful, honest, polite and professional.

These guys do not want to help you at all tried to tell me I needed to get an alignment after you get for shocks and that is false they wanted to charge me over $800 for a job I got done for $260 so grateful I went elsewhere!

Been going to this shop for years now alway had good service and the prices are right. They worked me in on the day I called Saturday 5-20 and most other mechanics are closed.

Jason was the very first person my family and I met and he has done extremely satisfactory services on our vehicles. When we found out he was no longer at the buckeye location we followed him to this location in surprise. We will continue to have our vehicles serviced where Jason is at.

Ive been going to this location for three years, always treated well. Well spoken, clean cut staff up front (I havent dealt with anyone in the shop). Never pushy about doing repairs, they just advise. I wonder how many bad reviews are from people that dont have much knowledge about mechanics, or are just angry about having to spend money on repairs. Ive been to bad repair shops, this is not one of those!

No..800 dollars to replace brakes a real rip off.

Happened to break down in their lot, I knew my brakes needed replaced but put it off too long and they locked up. Extremely happy with the service and price! They explained everything to me before doing the work and went over it all again when I picked up my van. I will be returning with my other vehicle soon, and Ill make sure to take better care of my brakes in the future.

I was turned away A free break check by Jason today 12/11/2017 around 4:40 pm 4:50 pm Jason said because I had previously replace my own pads I will need to pay the break check fee because they will have to check MY work (Never heard this before ever) i said jokingly well I guess I shouldnt have said anything he replied guess not I just moved back to surprise to find out that this break masters has lost its loyalty to its coustomers. Never will go back embarrassing

We had been using break masters in another city with great satisfaction until we tried break masters off Bell and Grand in Surprise. After they charged us almost $1000.00 for a new radiator the day before Christmas, 3 months later they tried to con us into replacing both front and rear breaks and replace our rotors.We decided to take the car to another mechanic who told us only the front breaks needed replacing and the rotors only needed resurfacing.Big scam artist! Beware.Its sad because the break masters off cave creek and 101 were honest. This chain gives the rest a bad name.

I have a black 2011 Honda Accord needed a 4 wheel alignment took it in very professional at 1st they Ive had them do worked on other cars of mine I got done with the car took it for a test drive it pulled to the left really bad so I that called the back the technician and said Hey the alignment still off on this he says oh thats because one tire is newer than the other if you replaced the tires than your alignment will be good replaced all tires alignment still off so I really feel like I got screwed so if you get an alignment I would check around and be cautious about Using break masters for alignments

This shop and the staff are superb! My son was visiting from out of state and had check engine issues. This shop spent 3 days trying to fix the problem and was not able to because it was a computer issue that needed to be addressed by a Ford dealer shop. The problem was not fixed but they only charged me for the parts that they put on and their labor was free. I have never gotten treatment like this anywhere. My son was able to drive his car 550 and bring it into a dealership to fix the computer. I am a satisfied customer for life of the Surprise, AZ Brake Masters! They are honest, hardworking and not taking advantage of a situation as some others do. Thank you for all that you have done and do.

The good: low cost, knowledgeable staff, and they are willing to fix their mistakes.the bad: an apparent lack of attention to detail from there technicians, and they assume you dont know anything when it comes to vehicles.as both an automobile, and an aircraft mechanic. it is very difficult to find someone I can trust with my car, and this place is no exception.my situation is this: I needed an alignment and I went to brake masters once before, at that time they where honest and didnt over charge me like they could have. this time I went and the tech who was working on my car decided to rotate the tires and take another joy ride. even though when I found out this information I strictly objected to it because I had just rotated them 2 days prior. but after having waited 2 hours I decided I will just change them back when I get home. and then I found out he dropped all of my tire pressures by 20psi because the factory specs said they need to be lower. im assuming he just looked at his computer for the answer instead of noticing that I had after market tires that are designed for higher pressure. and in the process of rotating the tires he ended up stripping one of my lug nuts to the point that I cannot remove it... so needless to say im not happy.however in their defense they are going to fix it free of charge. but due to the lack of attention to detail and ignorance of the owners knowledge they are costing me a whole lot more time then the just two and one half hours for an alignment.needless to say I wont recommend this place to someone whose vehicle is more then just transportation and is something you put your heart and soul into.if all your car is to you is transportation. then this might be the place for you, but not me.oh and I was charged $81 for the minor adjustments you see below.

I have spent a lot of money, couple thousand to be exact between this location and the one in Peoria. After my last experience here I will never use brake masters again, and I am posting this review so everyone knows what scam artists these guys are.Came in for an oil change and nicely asked the tech to make sure my oil is filled to the full line when the work is done. After almost waiting 2 hours they finally finished and told me my rear seal is leaking oil, and that it was $800 to fix. They did not show me this leak they just told me it was there. My car is a 4 cylinder and I know it burns a little oil in between changes, but nothing to be alarmed as I have had other 4 cylinders that do the same thing. It is a normal thing for these smaller engines that work harder. I paid and left. Before leaving the parking lot I decided to check my oil dip stick to make sure it was at the full line. After checking 3 times to make sure, the oil was barely above the minimum line.I immediatley went back inside and asked the tech to please fill my oil to the full line like it should be. He tried to tell me that sometimes it is hard to tell. I told him to pull it back in and check himself. After doing so he came back in and told me that I was right and it was low. He told another tech to give me a refund, but being so upset I just wanted to leave. I wasnt trying to get a refund, I just wanted my oil changed correctly. I reinspected the dip stick after they filled it and confirmed before leaving that it was now at the full line.I went home and every hour for the next five hours I inspected my car to see if there was any leak. I could not find any signs of a leak, no wetness on the ground and my oil level was the exact same every time. I decided to go back in the next morning to speak to the general manager Richard about the horrible service I recieved. Not only was Richard not willing to listen to what I had to say he was also very rude and exhibited 0% customer service. He tried to tell me that the oil change didnt take 2 hours and that I did have a leak even though he hadnt even looked at my car and I told him I had checked it myself at home and didnt see anything. He never once apologized for anything.Not wanting to waste my time with the general manager who called me a liar, I went home and called the corporate office to make a complaint. Took 2 hours to finally talk to someone. This corporate customer service person was almost as awful as Richard the gm. He did give me a refund but did not try to save me as a customer. It seemed more important for him to give me something to keep me quiet and get me off of the phone.Flash forward 2 weeks later and my refund did finally come in the mail. I have been checking it daily since and my cars oil level is still exactly where it was after the oil change and I have yet to see any evidence of a leak. It looks like to me they didnt think I knew my car burned a little oil and purposely left my oil low thinking I wouldnt check my oil dip stick until a month or 2 after the oil change. Then after checking it and seeing it low I would really think I had a serious leak. Plus if I really had a leak, why wouldnt you make sure my oil was filled to the max in case I couldnt do the repairs until a later date? Furthermore for something that costs $800 to fix you should show your customers the problem and not after the car is parked out front and they are ready to leave.For a business that has the word TRUST all over their building they have lost my TRUST after this. Buyer beware, these guys will take advantage of your TRUST if they think they can get away with it.

I have been going here for several years. With or without an appointment they take good care of me. Always pleasant .

Just went to brake masters after getting my first car & Im coming here for life. I had went to another repair shop and they completely tried to get me for everything Im worth after inspecting my car but this place had told me I didnt even need majority of that. I got my front and back brakes, brake and transmission fluid flush and everything was perfect! I brought my brother back for his brakes too! Telling everyone about how great they are. Also, super quick came in on a Friday for transmission fluid flush and it only took 35 minutes from the moment I walked in to leaving. I also love how they arent commission based, I was quoted $1800 for repairs to my car and my brother $1200 at a different car shop here everything I actually needed only cost me $450 and my brother only got quoted $550 for his brakes w/discount, new ac blower, and retractor(I think thats what its called). Its a complete difference! Would recommend Lloyd I believe is his name, he worked on my brother and Is car and we have had no problems.
