I cant even begin to tell you how awesome this place is! First of all, every visit has been warm and welcoming. The staff is knowledgeable and happy to help. The pastries are super tasty and they have some great vegan options. Lastly the coffee is always delicious! I have taken many clients here while in the middle of showing houses. I look forward to the next visit!!
If you are looking for a small coffee shop where coffee is made with excellent care and glorious customer service this is your place. I walk from my house to the shop 2-3 times a week and I always get the most friendly staff and the highest quality coffee
My favorite neighborhood coffee shop. Amazing espresso and delicious local food options too! Everyone that works here is awesome and knows their stuff.
Awesome little coffee shop with excellent choices of non milk and milk varieties. Pick up a fresh pastry also super yummy!
Great coffee, nice drink options, tasty food and great art. The atmosphere is great and the barista has always been nice, mirroring your vibe.
If anyone gives this place less than 5 stars, I dont know what is going on with you. The friendliest service, the most chill Tacoma vibe, some of the BEST coffee in town. This is a gem in the East Side that needs more recognition. They only keep improving and providing a hospitable and delicious experience. (Those homemade pop-tarts are to die for!) The only part that is truly devastating is the hours 😭, sometimes I really crave their coffee but its too late in the day.
Its great and service was fantastic!! If you havent been go. Try the Myan
Love this spot. Great espresso and tasty treats. Dont know what I would have done without this neighborhood coffee shop this past pandemic year! A much needed spot to take work-from-home breaks.
Really yummy coffee (and I promise I know what Im talking about haha). Good quirky grunge rock vibes with awesome art. If youre looking for community or a place thats everything Starbuck isnt, this is it.
We were looking forward to trying this place out and their coffee, but were disappointed. We asked if we can pay with Apple Pay - first, there was no answer and second the staffs gave us a vibe we are not welcome. I hope others have a different experience!
I definitely recommend the Mayan mochs. Spicy yet sweet
My go to spot in this area. Great and friendly baristas, they know how to pull a shot, and best, there was a dog just relaxing on the couch like a boss!
They opened a month ago in here Eastside! walking distance fresh coffee smell makes me happy n feels good day begins. I stopped going to Starbucks because I have to drive! I prefer walking the neighborhood in the morning n grab a coffee! Blueberry corn maffin is delicious, recommend! the staff is really friendly, too.there r 7 tables n counter table seats. there is outside tables n chairs for especially dog lovers. I saw the water bawl outside. that is very thoughtful! All flat floor included a bathroom n entrance shows stroller friendly n wheelchair accessible.Parking: street parking.
Great coffee, kind employees, amazing pastry section and cool Aesthetic
Cozy neighborhood spot with good coffee, interesting teas, and nice service
The newest stapple in the McKinley/Eastside neighborhood. Locally owned and it shows! Always friendly baristas and great coffee.I especially love that Lux always features local entrepreneurs & artists- from the coffee roast & tea they serve to the attention grabbing art on the walls. Something is always shifting or shaking in here and yet it always feels like a coffee shop should feel - providing space for representation of culture & connection
This is a great local coffee shop. If you are in the area I would recommend a visit. They are dog friendly as well
Simple menu, delicious coffee and yummy desserts. I love that Lux is close to home and partners with other local businesses (e.g. desserts, breakfast stuff, etc).
Great coffee! This is truly a small community coffee shop with a non-pretentious vibe. My husband is crazy for their homemade pop tarts. Its a fun, friendly place to meet your neighbors and see local art. There is even a piano. The baristas are always down for a casual chat which is very refreshing in these lonely times.
Gem of a place. Glad to have stopped in
Good coffee from Manifesto another Tacoma roaster. It has a quirky interesting atmosphere, nice barista, shop dog. Also has some delicious pastries provided by a local Baker. Limited space and seating.
Great staff, friendly service and a cup or delight.
Weve been waiting not-so-patiently for good espresso on the Eastside. What we got was exceptional espresso and coffee in a cosy, vibey little space that feels like its been part of the neighborhood for years. Mochas with orange bitters and lavender bitter lattes are killer. But the truth is theyre serving Manifesto Coffee so if youre into flavor and beans grab a cold brew or a macchiato with a side of seltzer water. Stoked
Awesome local coffee shop and community gathering space. Good coffee, cool art, great customer service. Highly recommend!
If you want a quaint place in a neighborhood that not far from the beaten path and have a nice cup of crafted coffee this is the place for you
Phenomenal coffee and comfortable environment
Went there this morning. Great customer service but the guy forgot my vanilla shot and charged for it anyway.
Super friendly and wonderful vibe.
Cute place with good vibes!
Local Manifesto grounds made into delicious drinks, extensive selection of locally made SPILLED BUTTER desserts (crack-like addictive baked goods), local art and Local Pride.Add the Catholicesque Lux logo and the friendly staff - and this is my favorite indy coffee shop in T-Town. Viva LUX - en perpetua!
Super nice barista, super chill dog, great coffee and environment! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*.✧
Amazing coffee and espresso made by people who truly understand the craft. Warm and welcoming staff that seem to genuinely care about their customers and the community as a whole. Love this place!!
Great neighborhood spot! With the weather improving, well be stopping here more often for a cuppa on our walks. Small but curated selection of products, and were thrilled that theyre using our fave local roaster, Manifesto.
The lady working noon Saturday November 14th is very cold and unwelcoming. Atmosphere felt dead. She made us feel like we were inconveniencing her when we asked her to add more cream to our coffee. The espresso grind was off so it came out burned and tasted bad.Its disappointing because we met the owner and he is a really great guy and we wanted to go back because of him.Its amazing how much someones attitude can affect such an important part of your morning routine. If you lack people skills, or get frustrated over simple requests, I highly suggest not working in a coffee shop.Your role as a barista is more than just making coffee, especially in a community setting. This is coming from a barista of 10+ years. People in the sunless PNW are dependent on their coffee to get through the day, so being kind at the very least is going to make a huge difference.
The Eastsides patient waiting for a spot that knows how to pull a shot paid off. Lux has incredible coffee. Its run and staffed by some real good eggs.
Really cool spot serving great coffee in a cool neighborhood!
The barista allowed my daughter to use the bathroom and we loved the funky hip atmosphere. She even offered us water on a hot day. Very cool people. Theyll take care of ya!
In visiting from Phoenix. Solid shop owned by a dope human.
They have that cozy den feel that I have been hoping for on this end of town. Open at the crack of dawn with hot coffee and pastries. Just enough seating to make me want to enjoy my coffee rather than run to the hills with a ToGo cup. Great staff and great service. I hope they get used to me shambling towards them at 5am!
Awesome coffee shop with lots of personality and EXCELLENT espresso
Charming atmosphere, good service, competitive pricing. They also have a friendly and skilled barista. I pray they stay in the neighbourhood!
I love a perfect Espresso......This is my new Go-to spot!!! Delicious coffee and yummy pastries!!!
Lovely little shop, very clean and edgy with lots of lighting. However the location leaves much to be desired on a run down street where there were lots of homeless people milling around. I found my 6$ 12 oz cold brew to be a bit overpriced, when I could get better for 3$ at a gas station.
Awesome coffee shop. My wife and I just moved to the area and we always try to find nice little local coffee places to work at or just enjoy a nice cup of coffee. This place was everything we wanted. Very friendly and welcoming staff who made some delicious lattés. Theres free wifi and plenty of space to sit and relax or work. Well definitely be coming back!
Love Lux!! ALWAYS great coffee!! Friendly staff, funky spot! Cant wait to see them grow!!
Really good coffee, but very limited food options. Great environment to sit and drink a coffee without staring at a phone.
Wonderful treats, delicious coffee
Good shopping experience
This is a very nice place but they should have 20oz options available in hot or cold 😀were in the neighborhood so well probably be back.
Always a great place to stop! Great drinks and hot cocoa for the kids!
Excellent little coffee shop. Interior is clean, mood is relaxed, and coffee is consistently delicious.
Good price, good coffee, friendly barista. Im a fan. Ill be back for sure.
Great local coffee shop great owner, great employees
Best pastries and coffee!
Great place and people! They are consistent with their shots and their beans are amazing!
Fantastic setting and local staff! Perfect for when Im craving a cup of coffee on a Saturday and only want to go a couple of blocks
Use to pay for the mega coffee, now I pay just about the same for something a 100X more delicious
Really wonderful shop! The coffee and pastries are delicious and the atmosphere is very pleasant and inviting.
Had the most deeeelicious Chai! Beautiful, spicy, velvety...I just wanted a cozy fire and a second cup!
Excellent cup. Using Manifesto beans. Fantastic staff.
Good hipster coffee joint in the divey part of East Tacoma
A very welcomed addition to the neighborhood! Friendly service, and nice espresso drinks.
Pop in, grab my coffee, head to work. People are great.
This new coffee shop in the neighborhood was just ok. The coffee and cinnamon roll were both average but the millions of fruit flies in the shop and even in the bathroom made it difficult to want to come back.
Casual carefully crafted creative coffee concoctions
Great coffee, cool spot, cool people, but dont go.... Its already getting too crowded.
Great coffee, friendly staff, welcoming. Thanks!
Good coffee and pleasant barista
Always top notch.
Yummy coffee!
Loved it.
It works
