I’m from Boise and was in Tempe, AZ for the weekend visiting my best friend. In all honesty, I will be hopping on a flight for any other tattoo I want — absolutely worth it. The line work is AMAZING, my artist touched up and edited the reference picture and it turned out cleaner than the reference picture. My artist explained EVERYTHING, every detail to me and explained the products they use (VEGAN!!) and why they use it. Absolutely amazing and worth every penny! The whole staff is welcoming and the environment is clean; overall BEST tattoo experience.

Extremely pleased with the progression of my traditional Japanese arm tattoo sleeve. I still have a couple more sessions to go before its completed but my experience so far has been awesome. I have other tattoos but this is my first big piece so there was a level of anxiety prior to my 1st session. My tattoo artist, Boston Rogoz, is very knowledgeable and experienced in the traditional Japanese style which eased my mind/nerves tremendously. Do yourself a solid and get your tattoo done by nothing but the best at Living Canvas Tattoo!

I got my tattoo with Tristan who is an incredible artist! My tattoo was delicate, beautiful, and exactly how I envisioned (perhaps even better!). Tristan was very thorough in making sure I was happy with the placement as well as explaining the aftercare. During our initial consultation, he made sure to check that the quote would be something within my budget. I am so happy to have chosen this place and Tristan specifically for my first tattoo! Very friendly place to go. I was planning on not finding a place that would take walk-ins. They had walk-ins on Fridays making it very easy to get in. Would highly recommend this place if your local or even just passing through. The place is covered in awesome art and really cool masks!

I had my first tattoo here back in 1998. My most recent experience was just as great on 9/1/2021. Sent my oldest daughter off for her first year of college so we each got something that represented the other.

My husband and I walked in so my hubby could get a second tattoo. Figured while I was there Id get a small cover up for an older tattoo I had that could use an upgrade. Eric there did a great job on my hubbys Green Day tattoo and absolutely killed it on my cover up. It was better than I imagined! Couldnt be luckier to be able to get in. We wanted sister look-alike tattoos and had different ideas, so I went in the evening before and showed them to Mike, who then surprised us the next day with a design we both loved. Walked in, knew there was an hour wait but after an hour asked where they were in the line and was told the person before us was last for the day. I do realize sometimes it runs long, but sure would have been nice to have been told before we had to ask while sitting outside due your covid rules. A little communication goes a long way.

Dont know the name of the artist but he worked fast and it came out great. I went in during the last 30 minutes and they still managed to take me in and get it done!

Eric tattooed a custom geometric arrow I designed. He was patient and made gave me several size options and rearranged the stencil multiple times to make sure it was just right. He was attentive and made sure I was comfortable. Great work!

Im so happy with the upper arm addition I just had done with Living Canvas. Its been a few days and already Ive had several strangers stop me to admire the color and technique. I first emailed from the website with general questions and was pleasantly surprised to receive a reply within the hour with answers and instructions on how to get a consultation. It was a Friday evening and expectedly busy with other patrons, but the staff was so friendly and efficient that things moved very smoothly and safe with covid precautions. My tattoo artist was very personable and professional, making me feel very comfortable and confident in the results during our time one on one. He discussed nuances and choices available with my design and was very helpful in guiding me through so that the end result is something that I really enjoy. Mike at Living Canvas is a true artist and professional! I had a consultation on a Monday about some ink and was returning on Wednesday to have it completed. During the consultation I provided an idea for a tattoo and with just my description Mike had a design on Wednesday that was f**king awesome and with some minor tweaks it was exactly what I had envisioned!The entire process and my tattoo in my opinion is the best of all the work Ive had done!

Did I transport to LA when I walked in the door???Mask mandate, ok. I get it. No one else allowed in while your getting a tattoo, both of which I was reminded by the nice receptionist when I walked in.Vaccinated but I’m on board. Waiting for my consultation for about 15 minutes; my glasses fogging up with my mask on as I look around at the 4 tattoo artists one wearing their mask right and the other 3 with their masks below their noses working away, only 1 out of the 3 people getting tattoos wearing their mask and one had her friend in there while she was getting a tattoo. The hypocrisy and lack of common sense was too much so I cancelled, I’ll pick out a place that management either uses common sense rules or or at least follows their own.

Awesome environment and super friendly professional people, answered any questions I had and worked with me on getting the perfect tattoo. Walk-in wait was maybe 30 minutes but is very good work and well worth it.

Just got my first ever tattoo done with Erik (awesome/genuine bro) and not only was it an dope experience but it was filled with great people.The entire place is definitely a professional and fun atmosphere.For beginners, and experienced this shop is definitely a go to.

I made arrangements with Mark, the owner, to bring my wife in to his studio to have her 10 year old hip/lower stomach tattoo re-outlined and color touched up.Mark hadn’t done the original tattoo and although she was happy with the results at the time, the sharpness of the outline and colors of the flowers had faded over time.Mark is an extremely considerate and experienced professional who took his time to explain what he wanted to do to the original tattoo to give it more depth and clarity.He numbed the area to minimize discomfort and went to work.The first thing my wife mentioned almost immediately, was how light Mark’s touch was compared to the two previous tattoo artists she had worked with in the past, and she mentioned it a few times, almost in disbelief.Mark said he wanted to redo her tattoo in two separate sessions, one to handle the outline (and shading for depth) which was rather substantial in size and then when that had healed, a second appointment to handle the coloring of the flowers and petals.He is truly a perfectionist, examining his work carefully to make certain he had addressed every detail he had in his mind to enhance the tattoo.After he was done, he put down his machine, and said he was very happy with the results thus far...and I can tell you that we were even happier than he was, his work was absolutely beautiful.Even though the flowers hadn’t been re-colored yet, the entire tattoo looked like it was new, actually better then when it was new, and the old flowers popped out because of the shading he did around them. Honestly, we couldn’t have been more pleased.Out of fairness to Mark, I will wait to post a photo until after the next session when his work is finished but he really did an amazing job and couldn’t have been more pleasant and professional.Thank you Mark! We sincerely appreciate your time and talent.

I came for a walk in with my sketch already drawn up. I wanted some modifications and my artist, Tristan Towers, obliged and was very patient as I explained what i wanted different. He tattooed me with a mountain armband and lettering underneath it and it is gorgeous and he was patient, professional and kind. It was my first professional tattoo and i felt like Living Canvas tattoo shop was a really great shop for newbies and alums alike. Thanks guys :)

I have visited Living Canvas for multiple piercings and for my first tattoo. I love this place and will come back for more tattoos. They cleaned all piercing pieces in front of you so it made me feel very comfortable. They were accurate and they had patience when tattooing and piercing. I have not have any problems with my piercings or my new tattoo. They are also attentive and they do care about the guest being comfortable in that environment. For my first tattoo, it went smoothly and I did not have any concerns during or after the procedure. I definitely recommend this place for piercings and for tattoos

This is probably my favorite tattoo shop to get tattooed at in Arizona. I have been tattooed here on 4 separate occasions. I have 2 foot tattoos. Very clean and crisp tattoos. Clean shop. Professional and friendly tattoo artists every single time. Im happy to have tattoos from this shop.9-12-17 another tattoo for me at this shop. Jay Rizzo rocked out my Banksy tattoo that I wanted to honor my love and loss of my grandma. Happy tears flowed as he made my dreams a reality. I couldnt be happier with this tattoo. I had been searching for a tattoo artist in AZ that could bring my idea to life. I found Bree and was obsessed. I booked her in advance for a trip I head out to the valley from FL. Bree did an incredible job with my Very first tattoo. She made me feel comfortable and confident and I am absolutely obsessed with this piece. She was great to work with and made sure I absolutely loved it before getting it- including tweaking the design without getting offended. The store was also super clean and mindful regarding COVID which I respected and was happy to see! Thank you again for this incredible experience! Hope to be back soon.

I am not a local- some attractionz that I waz planning on touring were closed. So to occupy time just drove around. Came upon the shop. It waz open. Had 4of us that wanted tattoos. Waz given an estimated wait time. Got in sooner then quoted. Secretary waz outstanding. Very polite&engaged in conversation. Had 2artistz that took care of our body art. Exceptionally polite. All of our tatz turned out awesome. The shop waz very clean. No complaintz.

DO NOT GO HERE. Mike could not accept any changes or criticisms I had when I went there for a 3/4 sleeve, and he quit on me halfway through the project. The owner Mark was also extremely rude and kept mocking my tattoo calling it a Pokemon tattoo when its not even close to that. Now Im left with half of a sleeve with mistakes that they wont fix or finish. Worst service Ive ever experienced in any industry much less one that Im paying $150 per hour for! DO NOT GO HERE!

I got a sleeve completed a few weeks ago and I could not be happier with the tattoo as well as the overall experience. Everyone was friendly and respectful, the shop was very clean, and I had a blast chatting with Boston while I got my arm done. The tattoo itself turned out better than I could have hoped for. Ill definitely be coming back to Living Canvas in the future and recommend it to all my friends and family.

Last night I got my 5th living canvas tattoo. The artist did an amazing job on the frog tattoos my aunt and I got! I highly recommend this place! I now have 7 tattoos and 5 of them are from living canvas. My first tattoo was 9 years ago and it still looks great! The 5 that are from living canvas look great while my other 2 are faded.

Went in to get my first tattoo a few days ago from Lucky at LGTI and he did a great job. He was able to make time for me and friend on super short notice and was incredibly friendly and professional the whole time. The relatively simple piece I got done looks sharp, and more detailed and intricate pieces hes done on friends look great too. Really cant recommend Lucky enough, he seems like a great guy and artist.

Andrew was my piercer and he did a phenomenal job. I got my eyebrow double pierced and from the minute I walked in to the time I walked out was about 20 minutes. I showed him a photo of how close I wanted the piercings to be together and explained where I wanted them and he marked it out perfectly the first try. He walked me through what was happening while getting pierced so there wouldn’t be a surprise and overall super chill guy. Everyone was friendly and the place was super clean. They also had precautions in place for COVID and everyone wore masks which made me feel much more comfortable getting work done there. Definitely going back to get other piercings done here!
