I had 2 audio recorders upgraded at Oade Brothers Audio. A Marantz PMD-671 and a Fostex FR-2LE. I had given up on the Foster as a useful device. After the upgrades I am thrilled with both units. They are amazingly quiet and sound great. The improvement is really amazing. Thank you!

My fantastic experience with Oade Brothers Audio began on 9 May 2014, when I emailed Doug Oade, asking for some help choosing between various modifications of the Marantz PMD-620 MkII voice recorder. I got a quick response in a couple days, on the 11th, where Doug explained with great detail all the ins and outs of the various modifications I had asked about. I settled on the Basic MOD, in which Oade Brothers Audio will replace the pre-amp in the unit with one that has significantly less noise while keeping the built-in mics. Including tax and 1-day shipping, I spent $530 when I ordered it online on Saturday, 10 May 2014.Then, just my luck, I got an email from Doug Oade letting me know that they had sold their last 620 in their stock the day before and that it might be a while before they received more stock.Doug was very helpful and was completely transparent with the stock issue, letting me know everything he knew about the incoming supply, and he kept me in the loop the whole way through. I never had to send an email asking for details, just because of how in touch Doug was.On 15 May 2014, Doug sent me an email informing me that the 620 would be in the very next day, Friday, and that as hed make the modifications on the voice recorder, and promptly ship out the unit on Monday.I received the voice recorder on 20 May 2014. I cannot be happier. The units clarity and quality is absolutely superb, and the noise issue that Ive heard some people have is nowhere to be found with the modified unit that I ordered. In addition, the customer service that I experienced at Oade Brothers Audio is unmatched; Ive never had such a pleasant time buying a product online. I can only imagine how sweet it must be to buy it in person.My money was more than well spent. I recommend Oade Brothers Audio to anyone looking to seriously get a quality voice recorder, with great customer service.
